Re: Font Colors
I thought about doing colours for Steph's multiple personalities, but the amount of times they switch and argue with each other.. would be like a friggin rainbow. Especially when other ones get introduced.

Re: Font Colors
I wouldn't think you'd need to add different colours for designated speech, it should be clear in how you're formatting and punctuating your posts to begin with.
I refer you to the rules of punctuating dialogue for further information on what I'm talking about. I'm a bit of a nerd, sorry... <.<

Re: Font Colors
Agreed. Especially true with split personalities, because it doesn't hurt to project that sense of confusion and uncertainty onto the audience that people around the individual might be feeling. Split personalities are hard to deal with, and it's not always instantly apparent which personality has the helm, so to speak. Making those personalities come through in their dialogue or mannerisms is more challenging for a writer, but can help to flesh out those personalities.Myk wrote:I wouldn't think you'd need to add different colours for designated speech, it should be clear in how you're formatting and punctuating your posts to begin with.

So in short, I think Aly made the right choice, lol.

That's only when posting though, isn't it Ripper? Is there an option for that on the UCP, to turn all colours off?

Re: Font Colors
There is not that option in the UCP and I'm pretty sure it's very difficult to turn off a specific bit of code in each individual post that's different for each individual person.

Re: Font Colors
I'm hoping there's a mod which applies a style wrapper to all post text, turning the font colour to a specified hue, just for that user. If not, then we're out of luck unfortunately.Phoenix wrote:There is not that option in the UCP and I'm pretty sure it's very difficult to turn off a specific bit of code in each individual post that's different for each individual person.

Re: Font Colors
You'd have to get around BBCode doing this when you put one color tag inside of another:
Example
Example
Code: Select all
[color=#40BFBF][color=#4000BF]Example[/color][/color]

Re: Font Colors
May I suggest that an option to help might be to either add another skin OR an a way to lighten the background in any skin? In my case, if the background of the text was lighter, then the text colours would be FAR less of a bother to my eyes. Can't speak for all the players that are affected by the issue but it's just a thought, and might be more easy to change than all the possible variations of text colours?

Re: Font Colors
That wouldn't be a great idea, unfortunately - you'd be trading one eye-searing color combination for another. Things start falling apart when you have drastically different background colors in different skins. Most things posted/banners made are done to look good on the darker colors and will look terrible on a lighter background >.<
