Preholocaust? Yes.
Now? No.
No one owns it. David won't sell it (has asked)
I was surprised he allowed player own fade portals on it knowing he wouldn't sell the property.
Why are you taking me through troubled waters, I asked? Because your enemies cannot swim, he replied.
Why does it have to be a place that's not player owned?
If the character who owns the place is a truly neutral character, why not?
I like the idea, and I think Lancaster's would be neutral. I'd love it to be, in fact, but there's no way to actually police it. Attacks could happen in there and I/Elliot would never be aware of it to make it stop. Y'know?
Maybe put this as a suggestion - see if David can't rig a place to be neutral (Eirin's will) all the time, without someone having to do the ritual? Set it up as an option, when buying property, to make it always neutral? If people are deadset on it being a place that isn't connected to any characters, ask David to make a new place, a new club/pub/bar/lounge/whatever somewhere that's protected at least in a grid sense from anyone ever being attacked while inside.

I like the idea of a neutral territory, definitely. It'd add an extra dynamic to the society as a whole. I, however, do not like the idea of a grid mechanism that maintains this neutrality. There's no anti-violence within reality, it is maintained by the individuals who seek it as a whole. I think Digo's refernce to Elysium hits the nail on the head. The idea of an elysium, safe haven, wasn't a mystical place or anything... it was deemed so by the entirety of vampiric law. Sure, one could attack there, but the backlash would be a culling by the nation. Too many automatic devices within the game will only inspire short-cuts and cheat-arounds. The world should be maintained and decided by it's players and how they can interact together.
Whoops.
I meant abandoned mansion.
And no. I said I added a poll today.
I think if people want a place of neutrality, then the characters, not david should do it.

Well, I guess this is more an ooc thing? I plan on making it an ic thing at some point and maybe ic suggestions would be better than the ooc ones?
I do like the idea of chipping in karma for a place that is neutral, but IDK who would 'own' it. I'd like it to be something the community owns more or less instead of one person. Or no one owns it. Maybe like an abandoned place. I've not asked David if it's possible for Mooncalf or some other admin/test account to own a place so that it's not really owned, but I can before taking this ic if that makes people happy?
:)
