Zodiac sat in the clearing surrounded by trees as she watched the skyline in the east begin to turn blue. Pushing back the darkness as the sun began to exert itself back as the Earth forever turned and rolled around it obediently. Ginny, her cat, kept nuzzling her as if trying to warn her this was not the smartest thing her girl could be doing. She petted the familiar and smiled nervously in reply.
It was probably the last field of learning she ever wanted to consider, but it held a key that would allow her back into a world she lost three years ago. So they said. It had been difficult and more time consuming than some things she had pushed herself to master. Even once she has supposedly had learned the skill, she stayed hidden away. Perhaps it was a more mental issue now or a lack of faith. Magicks did not always work or work exactly how legends described them to work. The results of this could be problematic if it did not work. Finally the suspense began to gnaw at her until she finally decided to try. 'All or nothing!' her mental voice declared as she drove out to the countryside and chose a spot. The van would be close by, but the damage would be done before she would be able to reach its safety.
The birds were chirping. Despite her terrors, she smiled at the almost forgotten sound. She took a deep inhale of the air around her and found the familiar scents beginning to grow that were not part of the darkness as the norm. It was brighter now, far more than her eyes had become accustomed to in the shadows. A pair of wrap around sunglasses were set in place to cut the intensity of the growing dawn.
"I am Syzgany." she reminded herself as the first hint of the sun broke in the east and sent it's light over her.
She closed her eyes. Waiting for the flash of pain she had felt in the beginning when she was first turned. Her hand suffered that morning when she reached out into the light in curiosity. Suddenly she seemed to feel tired. A bit more than normal, but that was all outside of hunger. Timidly her eyes opened only to squint despite the glasses at the rising fireball that bathed her in its light. It was going to take some getting used to again. Her mental laughter rolled and even what voice she had made happy sounds as she began to weep. Even the cat seemed amazed at what had just happened as it began to rub against her.
"I have so missed you, brother sun," she cried now as she lay back into the unkept grass and bathed in its light. She rolled onto her belly and let her fingers brush through the grass. She was warm. She felt warm again. Not warm to the point of burning as she did when her hand discovered what being turned had robbed her of, but a comfortable glow that sliced away the cold she had been fighting ever since that night. Her eyes saw colors again! Real colors and not simple shades of grey.

"Cutting in."
Angela and Mary had been dancing away in the early morning light when Shira finally got there. The girls giggled as they parted and Angela curtseyed as Shira bowed before taking up the dance with her. "Celebrate the day" was Nana's advice to them all. A new day meant new possibilities both good and bad. Nothing was promised to anyone in life, so be glad of every moment you are in it. Some of the others arrived and the children began to exchange partners as they danced for the simple joy of it. Their laughter almost part of the symphony of the birds who also called in greetings of the sun.

She stood up and spread her arms as she faced the east again. In time, the morning greetings had grown as did she and her faith. In time perhaps those within her coven might join her (if they had the skill to do so) but today was hers alone. She focused herself and held up her hands and projected her thoughts.
Her bandana fell to the ground and slowly the rest of her clothing joined it. She stood naked in the morning light, just letting the warmth soak into her as she would a hot bath. She could not shake the feeling she needed a nap and was a tad hungry, but those were problems for later. Slower than normal, but with no less enthusiasm, she began to dance in greetings of a new day. The cat frolicking about at her feet sharing in the celebration."Hail unto Thee who art Ra in Thy rising,
even unto Thee who art Ra in Thy strength,
who travellest over the Heavens in Thy bark
at the Uprising of the Sun.
Tahuti standeth in His splendour at the prow,
and Ra-Hoor abideth at the helm.
Hail unto Thee from the Abodes of Night."
