[[ Authors note: This is a DREAM and there for should NOT be taken literally. It's to give insight into Leiren's mind for the players. Nothing more. Thanks for reading, and enjoy the story. ]]

Leir’s soft form lay upon the rich green grass with sunshine touching her face through the leafy tree above. The flowers seemed to have more color, more vibrant, while the shadows seemed darker, richer. She was staring up at the tree, but what was up there she was looking for? There were spots of red, an apple maybe? No, she wasn’t hungry. She never got hungry except for blood. Which was disturbing enough. So then, what had she see been looking for?

Her fingers felt something cold and soft run through them. It was strange but nice in her palm against the feel of the heating rays of light. Still, what had it been? It obviously had come to touch her for a reason. The soft thing brushed against her arm this time and she tried to move her hand to look upon the thing but it was gone already. It didn’t wish to be seen, so it wasn’t. That wasn’t normal was it? Her head tipped back to center and there in the tree hung a vine of some sort.

She felt cloudy, groggy, as if her head was pounding at her to stay put as she brought herself to stand. She wanted to know why she had been looking for this vine. It wasn’t anything more, right? Was she thirsty? Would it quench that need to feed forever if she could only reach it? She had to touch it.

Leir rose to her tip toes and reached up the tree but she was still not close to touching that vine. She’d have to actively go after it to get it. This wasn’t being made easy for her at all. Climbing the tree didn’t seem like an option and there was nothing besides this tree and flowers in the field. How was she to claim this vine that was seemingly so important to her?

The girl sat at the base of the tree all but pouting. She felt such a strong need to have this thing and yet it was so far from her. It was as if she could not be allowed to touch it. For it was above her and she was below. “I wish I could touch it.” She had picked a flower and was speaking to it as if this flower could help her. She knew it was just a flower and could not, but she felt the strong need to try. Even if she was talking to herself as she used to do.

She looked towards the vine once more and it hurt her to see it was gone. As if her inability to capture it had made it leave her sight without a chance to find out its mysteries.

It should be said that Leiren I’laned had never been afraid of snakes. Never in her life had she been shy near one or had failed to pet those she came in contact with. However, the moment that split tongued mouth moved against her ear she felt such a surge of fear hit her inner core any normal human being would have passed out. Any normal being would have run. But not Leir. She was going to stick it out, even if she felt sick.

“Are you having Issues?” Those s sounds were long and drawn out into a hiss, a creeping feeling coming over her as the snake wove its way down her body. It was smooth and cool. She knew it had been the thing touching her before, but why? And better yet, why was this snake talking to her?

“I wanted to touch the vine and now its gone.” She sounded slightly pouty and upset but the snake didn’t seem to care. It gave a hissing laugh, winding its way onto her lap, head raised to her eye level. It was green and black, just as vibrant as anything else in the place. It felt heavier then it looked but the thing had to be around five foot long. Skinny only went so far. It didn’t look like a boa or a python. It was something else. Like she had seen it before somewhere and couldn’t place her finger on it. Still, it was skinny, and that alone made her wonder if it was a constrictor because of its length or venomous because of its lack in size. The fact it was directly in her face wasn’t helping her think any better either.

“Ah, Leiren, you are touching this vine. It was me in your tree. You wanted me, and so I came to you. Is this not what you wanted?” Those s’s were hit again and it made her cringe. This was reminding her of.. something. Maybe that Disney movie. She couldn’t remember what it was called, just the talking snake. It seemed to almost dance in her lap for her. Wanting to touch the thing she placed her palm out near the serpent. “So, can I touch you?”

It seemed innocent enough to touch this thing, this not so little snake. She came nearer to him with her fingers. “Yes” it hissed at her, moving its body to her hand and curling itself around her palm, sliding up her arm. It felt kind of nice really to have this thing moving up her form with its scaled body. “May I ask what kind of snake you are?” She inquired to the slithering thing that was now wrapping around the back of her neck and down the front of her form. Sliding between her beasts around one, and then back to her eyes it raised itself. “You may, I am a.. Boomslang.. I believe is what you humans call me.”

The fear that rose to Leiren’s face could only be compared with that snake admitting he was the devil himself to her. Just to be sure, she forced herself to speak. “Your name?” She choked out through her absolute fear. The snake replied with that evil hiss, a nasty smirk on its face.

“Asmodeus.”

Terror at the name unmatched shot through her and suddenly she felt the need to run. She knew exactly what Asmodeus was in a name. She could not allow it to bite her, for she would die, but to allow it upon her was so allow the taint of darkness to absorb her soul. It looked most pleased with itself as she let the looks of horror pass over her. Leiren had to stay calm. If her pulse quickened, if her heart beat faster, it would know and it would seek to end her life with a bite. Just one and she’d be dead.

She did her absolute best to speak and yet it was so hard for her. Her tongue failed her, her mouth dry. The two stared at each other for such a long time it seemed as if hours had passed before it spoke to her. “Do I truly frighten you so much little Leiren?” The serpent curled itself around to her ear and spoke to her as it brushed her cheek. It’s body slipped from her shoulders and neck and moved along her form back to her lap, even as its head stayed so near to her face. She found words, somehow, and opened her mouth to speak before its tail moved to touch her lips and she promptly closed them. “You’ve no need to use words. I know you are. I know you understand what my name means, but I am not so bad.”

She closed her eyes and could feel the tears brimming. The first drop fell and that snakes tongue was there to catch it, sending horrible shivers through her body. “Please don’t hurt me.” It was all she could manage. The only thing she could think to say that would even begin to help. And yet this thing saw fit to only laugh at her cruelly. “Ah my petite you asked me here. You wanted me within your grasp and you ask me not to hurt you. You can be so foolish.” It moved from her body, retreating to the trunk of the tree. She didn’t even think of striking radius before she crawled her way against the ground away from him.

Leiren curled her legs into her body, fear capturing her entire mind that this snake would come from anywhere, everywhere, and destroy her. She had felt this before, she knew it, but where the deja vu wasn’t enough to remind her of when or where. Somehow she knew it was closing in on her and she lay in the grass, begging for the sun’s rays to take her like they should. To turn her to ash and kill her for all things good. But the sun would not take her. She was already with the devil.

Rustling within the grass let her know he was near and then she felt him wrapping himself around her foot. Creeping up her leg and then she squeezed her fingers into her palm as the filthy creature moved along her stomach. She just knew it was enjoying this. Enjoying torturing her. Tears fell from those swollen eyes and she refused to open them even as the retched thing’s tongue could be felt on her body. She wanted to leave. She needed something to save her. She had been good. Always been good. So why was it that God would not fight this snake to free her from the Devil’s grasp.

When all cards are lost, when there is nothing left, those who believe will pray and find light. And so she did. Leiren prayed in her mind for something to save her. For anyone or anything to come down and bring her away from this land. Still she was left to the whims of this serpent. “Do you really believe your God will save you from me Leiren? He care nothing for his children and you, you will be my new little pet.” Asmodeus curled itself around her breast once more. “If you do not say you refuse now, you’re mine.”

Leiren knew there was no hope for her. None refused the devil and lived and if one was to live and be a slave to such a creature it was at least slightly better then death and being trapped by his servants forever into terrible contraptions and deeds. Her mouth never opened. Her tears never stopped. She had no voice. And then in an instant she felt the fangs of this serpent pierce into her nipple and the taint of its venom flowing through her.

It was enveloping her soul, destroying her body, covering her in such darkness there would be no return. Still this creature laughed at her and it was not enough! Those deadly fangs pierced into her body again. A third time. A Fourth. It’s deadly venom coursing through her veins. If it touched her heart, if it got that far, there would be nothing left for her.

She blacked out as the snake hissed its victory.

When Eve was in the Garden of Eden she met a snake. This snake tempted her to give the apple to Adam. Why had her own snake chosen to corrupt her body, mind, and soul? Was she more precious or was it because with her there was no Adam to tempt?

She felt as though she was trying to claw her way out of black muck that was seeping into her in any way it could. It filled her and took her. Claiming her for the darkness because the light did not want her any longer. She was going to die. That was the only thing she could think as she fought the venom out of her veins. She was going to die. And it was going to be a painful end the moment she stopped fighting it.

Leiren’s eyes opened slightly, her body numb from her toes to her legs, her fingers to her shoulders. It was going to creep its way to her heart. The sun seemed to be brighter. The snake had left her side. She didn’t understand what was going on. There was… A face? A Male. Was this Asmodeus? His true form? Her head swam.

She felt a heavy hand placed to her heart and then a searing pain started near her heart. Screams came from her and still this male would not let her move. It was blinding and so she closed her eyes as her fingers gripped into his shoulder, clawing and scraping and tearing at his skin. It was burning her. She was on fire and he was causing it. This was pain like she had never felt before and as she struggled to get away from him, he wouldn’t let her go.

Fingertips were burning, her head was throbbing. Leiren forced her hands into his chest and pushed, not even moving him. She struggled. She squirmed. She had to get away. And then the male’s hands pressed too hard to her and she broke. Her ribs snapped like twigs and she could hardly move. She laid there in that grass, this male lighting her on fire through only his touch, and prayed for Asmodeus to come back and finish her off.

Leiren laid in that grass for what seemed like days to her with nothing near her. No sign of these beasts that seemed to want to torture her. To force their violence upon her like she was a toy to be played with. Death would be better then the agony she was suffering at these hands.

She did not know how much time had passed when she awoke but the sun shone bright just the same as it had before and it warmed her core. It felt almost, nice. She was disoriented, looking around in fear for her demons. Asmodeus and this strange being that sought to destroy her. They seemed to both be gone, but Leiren was far too wary about this awkward silence she was left with. It was like everything around her knew something was going to happen and were waiting for it.

A figure just beyond her eye sight moved. It could have been an animal. It was just a blur. She tried to calm herself down but it was so hard to feel so alone. Either of them could come back at any moment and seek to destroy her once more. She didn’t even understand why she was still alive at this point. None of it made any ******* sense!

Crying was becoming her thing or something because she felt the heavy salty tears fall down her cheeks as she curled herself into herself. Arms wrapped around her knees and her head rested on them and between. Her entire life seemed like ****. It was so hopeless.

She never heard him. Never cared to as he walked out of the forest and in her despair he spoke her name. “Leiren..” She didn’t look up. Whatever it was would only hurt her. She was only good for hurting. The male figure sat next to her and she felt his arms wrap around her form, pulling her so close to him as he spoke words she couldn’t hear over her own thoughts. It felt really good to just not be alone. To be held. Still her only words upon her tongue never made it from her as this blonde haired figure with such intense blue eyes captured her chin, turned her face towards him, and spoke. “Everything will be alright. I’m here now.”

The petite form of Leiren wrapped so well into the males body. His grasp was gentle and she adore it as she adored Amaranthia’s. It did not occur to her that it could be wrong. He was good, she could feel it, and it wrapped her body in warmth that seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere. She placed her forehead to the males and moved her hands to touch him. If he was real she couldn’t believe it. Fingers moved over his side and chest as she gazed into those eyes and then she tentatively placed her lips to his. Kissing him so softly as if her very movements could make him disappear.

He allowed her this touch and moved his hands over her back as she parted her lips ever so slightly. He would not demand more. He would not push her. He allowed his tongue to tempt her and taste her but none of it was dominating or harsh. She enjoyed his kiss more then anyone before him. Even Amaranthia. The thought of admitting this to herself seemed horrible, but she knew it was true. For when his lips left hers she felt a void. An emptiness.

Leiren didn’t hear him speak, his lips didn’t move, and so when his look turned from promise to hatred she couldn’t help but think she had done something wrong. Then she too heard what he must have and as she peered to the skies she saw it. The black beast with a green smooth belly and wings made of darkest nights. It blacked out the sun and landed across from the two of them. It’s fangs were long and dangerous, its body made of pure muscle. Something was pissed, and it looked like it had come to finish what was started.

The deep shadowed dragon snapped its mouth at her and she clung to the male next to her. Not that she understood how he would save her but god did she need it. She knew what this was. It was Asmodeus. No doubt about it. Though now he did not look as though he was after her but instead looked as though his attentions were on whom she was sitting with. Her turned to her, then, and the male she had kissed spoke. “Hide.”

She didn’t care it was a demand, there was a ******* dragon! Who in their right mind wants to be dragon food?! He stood so quick if she would have blinked she’d have missed it. “Please don’t fight him! You can’t go! I need you!” Leir wanted him to come with her. To run from him, to keep her safe and never leave her side. If he died she’d loose his kiss forever.

“I’ll come back to you. Hide.” She wanted to beg and plead but already he was gone. She didn’t notice it before, not even close, but this male she was so wrapped up in had feathery white wings at least 6 foot in size and she was more in awe that she had kissed an Angel then anything else. Who gave a **** about a dragon when you just kissed an angel?! She looked towards the black beast and quickly moved away from him. There was no way she was going to miss this fight, but she was damn sure dying wasn’t on her schedule either.

As she reached the edge of the field she turned to watch the fight, her eyes locked on the angelic being she'd come to feel for. This one man was going to fight this battle for her and that meant more to her then words could describe. She didn't see where his weapon had come from but it was the longest and biggest blade she'd ever seen. It looked as if it was forged from adamantine and laced with a silver decoration and writing she couldn't have read had it been two inches from her face instead of miles from her in the air.

The beast, this retched evil dragon, took flight after her savior and she watched with great anticipation on what would occur. She couldn't imagine who would win and didn't dare step in to help. This battle would be fought for her and she prayed to God that it would be her angel and not this devil in dragon's clothing.

She saw those first few misses from the dragon before she ever saw the angel hit him. The fanged terror was lashing out with its jaws, trying to rip the other to shreds. He dodged every attack like a pro though and she felt a splinter of hope that he would win. That was all she needed. How she had missed this great black beast missing an arm was beyond her, but she had because he was clearly crippled to three ferocious claws and not his full four.

It became obvious now to her that in her healing the two had been fighting. Just how long had this battle been going on? Was it really for her? Or was this apart of something bigger? She didn't know or understand what was happening as she kept her eyes locked on the battle in the air. The angel had swung his blade but she barely saw the hint of it before the great beast bit down upon it and it shattered into a million tiny little sparkles that fell to the ground as if nothing.

Her hand flew to her mouth as she watched in horror and she wondered how her angel would fight now that the dragon had broken the blade. He moved in quick, this dragon, and flung himself at the angelic creature, landing its head square into the others chest knocking him flying through the air. He landed against that tree in which she had enjoyed resting under and it snapped down the middle, splintering and flying everywhere. She threw her arms over her head and ducked low to the ground in fight of being hit with the sharp shards of bark. "Holy **** I'm gonna get killed and I ain't even fighting!"

Leiren brought her arm away from her face as she rose and instantly looked around for the two in battle. She didn't see either of them in the skies or in the trees but the thick scent of blood filled the air around her and made her want to puke all over the ground. It wasn't the nice coppery smell of human that made her salivate it was a stench more like brimstone and was all over the field in black puddles.

A shot loud as thunder rang out from far away and she groaned as the sound split her head. It was painful to hear. Close to nails on a chalkboard with a lot more punch and a bang just before it more like a shotgun blast right near your ear. It gave her a headache and it was only one. Again she heard it and flung her hands to her ears, covering them as she begged and pleaded for the sound to end. It was more torture then it was worth and she didn't even know who it was coming from.

Over her head the black beast appeared and it moved to dive at her, obviously thinking this was the best course of action. Of course if she was dead, the battle wouldn't matter anymore. Such horrible looks crossed her face as she screamed for help. He didn't even touch her before another shot was heard and she thought her ears were bleeding as she watched this horrific beast take a blow to its underbelly, the miasma flowing from it seeping to the ground and littering the air with such an awful stench she had to hold her breath. It looked as though this wasn't the first shot the angel had landed, the black beast had to be getting desperate with such wounds in its body. The only comparison she could come up with was swiss cheese.

Obviously this one had done it great damage and it crashed to the ground, ripping and snarling at the air. She saw this angel line up his shot, she looked at him as he came closer to the beast. He was going to kill it. Why she screamed at him she didn't know, but her voice rang out through the field. "STOP! Don't kill him!" She could feel tears near her eyes again and she pushed them back as she found her courage and ran towards the dragon. It looked at her as if it would kill her and still she ran towards him, determined to make this angel see that killing it was not the way. Even if he was the devil, he deserved to live and fight another day. As everything deserved to live. "Please.. stop! Let him live. He will leave and not return." She looked to the dragon, pleading with this wounded beast to leave. She didn't think he would, but she hoped he did, for if he did then there was no need for death to occur, even if it had almost taken her soul.

It must have understood because it didn't give her a second look before snapping towards the angel and then in a great burst it was gone. Just like that it had disappeared and she was left alone in the middle of this place with an angel above her and devils blood on the ground.

Her angel fell upon her like swift wind and she looked up at him with no malice and no intent of harm. She knew it was obvious to them both this angel would have killed him if not for her pleas to spare the dragon. His feet touched the ground only a few feet from her and she flung herself at him, wrapping her arms around him as if he was the last person in the entire world. In turn his own arms placed around her, pulling her so close to him as he cooed into her ear. "I was so worried. Please don't do that again." She was almost to tears over this. It seemed to be a pattern. She felt his wings wrap around her form, the comfort in such things indescribable.

"Leiren I would not leave you. I told you I'm here for you. You're safe." His forhead pressed to hers and tipped her head back slightly. His kiss was not as soft and sweet as the last, infact it was greedy and she knew he was more scared that she would die then him. The feel of him so close, his lips upon her own, it was all so much. She squeezed her fingers against his muscle, running the tips over his body. Nothing could be wrong in her world with this angel so near to her. "Please don't leave me." She whispered the words as she broke the kiss, only to capture his lips with her own once more. She needed them, all of them, and refused to allow even a moment to pass without his touch.

There were no inhibitions here. Not for him or her and as his hands explored her body she reveled in the delights. There in that field everything was right, everything was perfect, and she enjoyed him, just as he enjoyed her.

And then she awoke from her dream, still wrapped in his arms.
