The brunette shifted slightly at the sight of the Qur’an, having never been one of religious faith herself despite the silver cross that sat against her breastbone; it had been her mother’s, and she wore it more for remembrance than anything. While Aysel read, Every got up to collect an empty trashbin from the kitchen that she had yet to give a use to. Her dark brown hair fell over her shoulders as she chewed on the inside of her cheek and considered the other turnings.
She had killed Hadrian because he was a dick. Nishaa had stabbed her and Every had done it because there had been no sense of doubt. Skylir... she couldn’t even remember that turning. Pushing away the thoughts, she went to the cabinets and tapped around for the hidden compartment she kept, retrieving a few blood bags for her childe to be before she went back to the couch just as the book went away. She set the bags on the table, setting the trashbin between her legs as she waited.
“It’ll be alright, I won’t let anything bad happen to you.” Did the turning itself constitute as bad? If anything did go badly, she’d simply summon Micah immediately and apologize later. Still, she had no reason to be concerned about the turning, anyway. She had done it three times. Two had survived for a long time. Every could sense Nishaa as she considered it. Hadrian, on the other hand...
The smell of blood stirred her thoughts and she ran her tongue over her lips idly, leaning forward to swap out the coffee mug after a few moments and set the trashbin underneath AJ’s wrist knowing it would hold better. It was more practical than anything, and the cup, she knew, would overflow eventually. “Nope, no turning back.” She smiled softly, her nerves dancing through her system while she listened to the woman’s heartbeat and counted quietly.
