Re: Solara and the Lancers of the Corona
Shan was too absorbed in her own injury to really register the conversation that the two were having. She lifted her hand palm up and wiggled her fingers, staring at the pale skin covering the digits that merely twitched awkwardly to the beat of the pain throbbing up her arm. Micah had gotten a good grip on her arm after dodging a swipe at his face, and it showed in the clearly broken appendage. She smoothed her hand over the break as if she could heal it with her hand. The muscles around her mouth twitched and pulled her lips to one side then the other as she stared, blood red hues fixated on the issue at hand. Swallowing dryly, Shan suddenly remembered her thirst that was unquenchable, and she cleared her throat before looking up from her busted arm.
She looked around for a fridge or something, but her eyes stopped when they connected with Nyla’s who had looked at her then her shoeless feet. Shan couldn't help but let her gaze fall on them with Nyla’s. Stark white socks clad the others feet, and Shan almost felt like taking a sharpie to them or something. Maybe she would some other time. White was just… why would anyone want to wear white? Most times she wore red, and that was really only to hide the blood she constantly came into contact with… if she wore white she would certainly look like the serial killer she secretly was on the second Tuesday of every month. No, that wouldn’t do.
Her eyes trailed up Nyla as the woman gave Shan the weirdest look she had ever given her, and Shan raised her brows at her in question. “Wh-” - and then Nyla was gone - “-at.” Shan stared at the empty space that was not moments earlier occupied by Nyla. “Oh what the actual ****.” She muttered, rolling her eyes and slicking her hand up through her hair to push it back out of her face to the side and behind her ear. Crimson hues dashed over to Micah who was just standing there, the look on his face saying a hundred million words for him - and every single one of them were curse words. Shan smirked, “You-” - and then he was gone, vanished before she could even finish another sentence.
“What in the ****!” She spat, both hands lifting then falling down to her sides. She stood there for a second, half expecting them to both just reappear, though her other half didn't care. She had the house to herself. Maybe she would go for a swim. That was, if she wasn't tempted to drink the entire damn pool. Shaking her head out of annoyance, she turned on her heel and left Nyla’s shoes right where they were, dead center of the floor of the room. Spotting a fridge, she crossed to it and pulled out a blood pack - thank god Nyla was the paranoid vampire she was in this instance and feared for Zelda feeding outside - as she didn't even hesitate to sink her teeth into the contraband pack and tear it away from her, effectively ripping it open so that she could drink the blood cold.
Finishing off the pack and grabbing up a second one, this time she looked for something to warm the blood up in. Not seeing anything that would suit her needs in the basement, Shan took the pack upstairs after shutting the fridge door firmly. She was still slightly irked that everyone had just left. Wasn't that something she was supposed to do, not have done to her? Damn. She scowled the whole way to the kitchen upstairs on the main level of the trailer, shaking her head as she repeated the process with her fangs into the corner of the package in order to tear a hole into it and free the crimson liquid from its plastic packaging. Shoving the cup into the microwave and pressing the ‘quick minute’ button, Shan then looked for a garbage can. Unable to find one within her surroundings, Shan left the garbage on the counter for later as she leaned against the counter and crossed her arms lightly over her chest. Yes, her broken arm still hurt, but the blood had helped enough to take her mind off the pain and more onto her thirst level. She cleared her throat and swallowed dryly again, already feeling just as thirsty as before.
She exhaled the stale air out of her lungs she had been holding since the basement. How stupid it all seemed, that everyone was getting so worked up over a human thrall. It almost made Shan want to check up on Seraphine - but she didnt. Instead she stood there and waited till she heard the familiar ’ding’ of the microwave, and pulled the glass from it not caring how hot it was. Taking a satisfying gulp, she murrhed as the perfectly warm blood coated her seemingly dry throat and made its way into her stomach. It felt like it was warming her from the inside out, even though she knew that wasn't possible, and for a moment she just stood there consumed by the feeling she got so rarely. The kitchen was dead silent, until her phone buzzed and filled the air with the sound of bumblebees. Shan never had her ringer on - in fact - she didn't even know what she had her phone’s ringtone set to. Probably the generic one the phone came with set as ‘default’.
Not relinquishing her grip on the glass, Shan reached across herself and pulled her phone from the opposite pocket. She didn't even check the caller for once - at the moment it didn't matter - she was nearly on a rush of sorts with the ingestion of so much blood at once. Nearly euphoric. “What's up?” She answered, and for a split second Shan thought the person on the end of the line wasn't going to say anything but then she heard Nyla’s familiar voice; confirming there was trouble, and Shan’s jaw set once again. “What a hell of a buzz kill...” She muttered, but then nodded as she went on, “Fine fine.” She didn't even say goodbye as she ended the call and re-pocketed the phone, shaking her head. “Well damn.” She stated to no one but herself, tipping the glass back to finish it off before setting it in the sink and then making her way back down to the basement.
Striding up to Nyla’s shoes, Shan bent and picked them up for the second time that night, shaking her head as she debated on her method of delivery. Apparently that was all she was good for - delivery - but whatever. She would at least get some form of entertainment in being able to tell Nyla she had told her so. Doing the same as the other had, Shan activated her power and with super-human speed she ran to the destination Nyla had given her. Arriving within seconds, Shan skidded to a halt upon the two, instantly recognizing Zelda standing across from Nyla. “Spunky. Sup.” Shan said, moving to hold out Nyla’s shoes to her while looking between the two then back to Nyla, giving her that ‘I told you so’ look. She figured she wouldn't need to say it though as she drew a deep breath - which was a mistake. Zelda stank. Reeked of some human, and their extra curricular activities. And then there was blood… and Shan looked down at Ny’s feet. “Well damn. You both are one upping my night huh?” She smirked. They wouldn't have been able to if it had been the second Tuesday of the month though. No one could top those nights in Shan’s opinion.

Re: Solara and the Lancers of the Corona
Solara stood handcuffed in a semi-circle of people surrounding her. Just four, but it was somewhat intimidating. She didn't know what to expect with these group of weirdos around her and knew that people who were weird would do just about anything they needed to, to get the results they wanted. There was a guy named Richie on the streets that wasn't quite right upstairs and did extreme things to get attention, or get a warm place to stay for the night, when the nights were too cold for his liking.Changed the green to be nice to the eyes. Hope that one is better <3
By assumption, Solara gathered that the four around her were those in the 'coven,' or whatever they wanted to call themselves. Heather, Patrick, Tanner and Ava. What Heather had said about Tanner wasn't an understatement and Solara had to watch his chest rise and fall to make sure the dude was still breathing and not something dead that he liked to toy around with.
"So we'll start with what we think your natural gift is, and throw a few other things at you." Heather beamed Solara a large smile as she walked around the outside of the group. She was the leader and the one that Solara needed to impress to stay alive. Solara wondered where Nyla was. If Nyla even suspected something might have happened to her. Probably not, which was her own doing. She loved the streets too much to stay off them, even if Nyla had provided her with a decent roof over her head. "Ready?" Solara lifted the pair of hands in front of her, the pair that was handcuffed and stared at Heather. "Sorry for the precautions, but if you knew half of what Ava or Tanner could do, you would understand. It's only temporary until you pass." Which meant they were never coming off. They would probably find her dead with them on still. "Oh great." Solara mumbled as she scratched an itch at the back of her neck, both hands going up because they were cuffed together.
Tanner, or the one she was sure was Tanner, as no introductions were made, left and returned a few seconds later with a young, short haired, orange and white stripped cat. Solara's eyes locked on to the cat as he held it by the scruff of its neck, agitated that it was being held like that, or at all. A lump rose in her throat as she watched Tanner, eyes wide as she wondered what was going to happen. There was a feeling of deep dread tingling up the back of her neck, crawled around her sides and sank in the pit of her stomach. Her heart started to thump faster. Solara could feel beads of perspiration collect at the spot she had scratched at the back of her neck and at both her wrists as time passed and she waited.
It happened quick. Too quick for Solara to even react until it was too late. She heard the ear piercing wail before it connected with her mind what had happened, but once she recognized what had happened, Solara screamed out a, "Noooo!" The blonde woman moved to the cat, now bloodied from the small blade Heather had conjured up half an hour or so ago that was stuck in it by Heather as she made her way back over by Tanner and yanked the cat away from Tanner's hands. As if the thing was hers. As if Heather had stabbed her cat and not some cat the woman had probably found outside. "I would say you have three minutes tops to work your magic before Tanner has a new friend." It was like a game to them. A game Solara knew she couldn't win, even if she desperately wanted to.

Re: Solara and the Lancers of the Corona
Just as she hung up the phone with Shan, Pixie was there making her nose twitch. Any other day and she probably would have made a comment about it, but her childe wasn't the one in trouble. Her childe was perfectly safe and an adult… even if that smell made Ny feel like she should say something, though she had no idea what it would be. She didn't have time to drive herself insane over what she should be doing, her thought process interrupted by Shan's presence. They had both shown up, though she had no idea what to do from here. Maybe they would know. Hopefully they would know. Her fingers gripped the fallen bracelet off of the ground before she stood up, her eyes locking on the broken jewelry before taking in the other two women.
"It's Solara… something's wrong." Her forehead crinkled as she tried to think of what to say - but she didn't actually know what was wrong. She had no proof aside from the broken bracelet she was holding and even that wasn't exactly proof. She could smell no blood aside from her own. She took in a deep breath and closed her eyes, her mind going back to the night she'd spent at Micah's crypt trying to learn control - the night she'd found her wolf. She breathed in again, focusing on that, knowing she needed to get a grip. "She never made it to where she was supposed to be. She didn't call." Dark eyes drifted back to the bracelet she was clutching. "I'm pretty sure this is hers… it looks just like the one she's always wearing."
She took another breath as her fingers clutched even tighter around the bracelet. Her eyes swung down along the ground, looking for any other possible clue there might be. The only thing out of the ordinary was the fact that her childe's feet seemed to not actually be touching the ground. She stopped, staring at that for a moment before shaking her head and figuring it must be part of whatever type of vampire she was. Nyla barely had a handle on her own kind, let alone whatever kind her childe was.
"I don't even know where to start…" The words were more whispered to herself than meant as a comment to the group. She'd never really looked for anyone before. She didn't know how to even start looking for someone. She reached out then to take her shoes from Shan. The damage to her feet had already been done, but walking around much more without shoes was bound to catch someone's attention. They didn't want that, she was sure. "Pixie, put your skates on would you?" The words were whispered out as she slipped her own shoes on and straightened up, faking an air of confidence. "Will you help me?"

Re: Solara and the Lancers of the Corona
Solara. Zelda knew who Solara was. Couldn’t quite forget, really—she seemed to almost always be around when Nyla was, and even if she weren’t, she’d been there the night of Zelda’s turning. And it was really hard not to forget that night. Zelda’s brows furrowed as she watched Nyla clutch at the bracelet; watched as she seemed to despair. Solara obviously meant a lot to Nyla.
Something was wrong. She didn’t know what. She didn’t know where to start. Zelda assumed that the three of them were about to go on some wild goose chase for the missing human. Zelda wasn’t an unfeeling person, and although Solara didn’t mean much to her, she was still a person that she knew. That was enough. On top of that, Solara was a person that Nyla cared about, and Nyla was asking for help. There was no question, really, what Zelda’s answer would be.
”Of course, kitty kat,” she said. Expertly keeping her balance, Zelda pulled on one skate, and then the other. She dropped to her haunches so that she could tie the laces up, tight. She glanced up at Shan and winked; it had been a while since Zelda has seen Shan; it had been a while since Zelda had had much to do with anyone. She wasn’t really being anti-social on purpose. And she did like Shan. Perhaps, after this, she would organise something with her. Afterwards, of course, because it didn’t seem like a very nice idea while her sire was having an anxiety attack—though, Zelda thought, she had to give Nyla some kudos. She seemed a whole lot more controlled and relaxed than she expected.
When Zelda straightened up, she immediately sought the loose strands of her hair. Though she didn’t have an implement with which to tie it, she deftly twisted the red locks up into a tight bun, which happened to defy gravity and stay put.
”Couldn’t we just…someone just… where’s Micah? He knows how to summon, doesn’t he? Surely Solara trusts him enough to make that a…thing? That he could do?” Zelda asked. Was there some reason why this had not been thought of before? ”What’s the plan?” she asked, glancing from Nyla to Shan and back again. ”I don’t have any other special powers that’ll help us. I can shout pretty loudly, though…” she said, imagining a scenario where they split up and just started wandering the streets, shouting Solara’s name.

Re: Solara and the Lancers of the Corona
Shan looked around as Nyla spoke, noticing that the few scragglers in the area were slowly departing from their presence. Shan snickered to herself, her blood red hues even taking note of the rats that scurried away from them. Shan remembered when she was first turned how not everyone had always turned and tucked tail from her. Animals didn’t hiss at her and lash out whenever she got too close. But she had used her power to get where she was, so the ones that were in the area now were slowly making their way away from them. Including the homeless people. She crossed her arms over her chest and shot a dirty look to one lady who was dressed in rags and a tattered blanket, though the woman didn’t get up and move. She stared, and after a moment Shan just shrugged it off to look down at Zelda who was lacing up her skates. She noticed the wink, and gave the other a tight smirk with a nod back. She looked up to Nyla then, and blinked.
Most times, people just told Shan what to do. They pointed and said kill, and Shan did. She wasn’t at all used to being asked to do something. Especially being asked for her help. She stared blankly at Nyla for a moment, her eyebrows curving into a knitted furrow. What did she mean, what to do next? Wasn’t that obvious? She could sense that the bracelet was in fact Solara’s from the singular time before she had ran into the woman. Did no one else sense that? Zelda said something about Micah summoning Solara, and Shan raised her brows, tipping her head to the side ever so slightly then righting it up again. That sounded like a good idea. It also meant Shan didn’t have to do anything so she would be okay with that too, but what if Solara didn't know Micah could do such a thing? Shan shook her head then, no, that wouldn't work. As good of a suggestion as it was. She pursed her lips to the side, which then formed a smirk at the mental image of Zelda skating around, yelling for Solara at the top of her lungs. As much fun as that sounded like witnessing, this seemed like something that needed to be done incognito.
“I can track her.” She stated, holding her hand out for Nyla to hand over the bracelet. She wasn't sure how she had come across the talent, but it had recently grown increasingly easier for her to locate the paladins in the sewers while she was hunting for them. Surely she could put the skills towards finding the stupid human who had probably just gotten herself lost with a dead phone. She took up the bracelet in her hand and squatted, bringing it to her nose and inhaling deeply as her keen eyes searched the ground for a hint of trace. The bracelet gave her a scent to track, her eyes narrowing in on a very subtle but fresh set of tire tracks that came up onto the sidewalk, and then sped away. That was odd to her, and her face set in a slight smirk as she stood up and handed the bracelet back to Nyla. “This way.” She pointed, shoving her hands into her pockets the second Nyla had freed the one of the bracelet that wasn’t hers. She wasn’t going to mention that it seemed like Solara had been abducted. No, that would only feed Nyla’s paranoia - and kill the mood that had Shan buzzing a bit. A kidnapping?! She smirked to herself, wondering what Solara had done to get kidnapped. Was Nyla that loaded?
Heading the direction of the scent that was faint, Shan glanced over her shoulder. “Its faint, but she did go this way.” She was sure of it, as she glanced back to the homeless woman who’s beady little eyes followed the three of them as they moved away from her. Shan made a note to come back and ask her what the hell her problem was later. Damn nosey humans. She led them around the corner of the street, and down two more blocks before she stopped. The trail was still there, but it was growing stronger. She could sense not only Solara on this trail now, but others as well. Maybe two? At least one other. Shan reached up to scratch at her throat before she cleared it and nodded. “I think you’re right.” She said to Ny, finally confirming the others suspicions of foul play. “There are two others on the same trail.” She informed, continuing to walk along as she focused on it. She really wasnt in a hurry though. If Solara was in some kind of trouble, with as much time had passed, Shan knew best of all that Solara’s chances of still being alive were slim to none.
The group crossed into another district, and Shan’s stomach protested her insatiable hunger to her. She did what she normally did and pushed it to the back of her mind, coming up to a giant looking factory. Most of the windows were broken and shattered, and the side of the building was completely covered in vines and moss that grew up and in some cases, into the open windows. Clearly the building had been abandoned for a while, though upon rounding the corner they found a large white van parked right next to it. Shan looked around and walked up to it, checking the side door that happened to be unlocked. She pulled it open and nodded. “She was in here. With three others.” She looked over at the factory that the van was parked next to, “I’m assuming she is inside with them.” She turned and sat on the lip of the open door to the van, looking up at Nyla and Zelda as she crossed her arms over her chest again. Maybe now the two of them could actually do something useful?

Re: Solara and the Lancers of the Corona
Where was Micah? He was somewhere else. Not picking up his phone. That fact still hurt Ny deep down, as he was the one she figured she could always count on. The mention of his name made her want to call him again - made her almost wish she had that creepy power that let people talk into someone else's mind even. She didn't call him back though, he'd made his choice.
She listened to her Pixie and even had a small smile for her at the picture she portrayed. Her little firecracker of a Pixie would do it, too - she could see it. She shook her head though, knowing that would only help if Solara was just skulking around somewhere for some reason, in which case Ny was likely to throttle the girl for scaring her.
Shan's comment had her head snapping back to the woman that she'd invited into her house. She didn't consider Shan as a replacement for Pixie - she didn't think of the woman like a childe at all. She was a friend - a rare commodity for Nyla. She never worried that Shan was going to get annoyed with her when her moods took her to strange places. It was nice to have someone to talk to that she wasn't constantly stressing over.
Tracking? She knew people did it, but she'd never paid attention to it. She was a fighter. Her job was to slice her blade through targets, not track them down. She'd never seen Shan do it, but if the woman said she could who was Ny to doubt her? So, without reluctance but with shaky hands she held the bracelet out for Shan and was glad when Shan didn't just take it from her. She might have growled or hissed at her for it.
She followed, not saying anything or even really processing the few short things that Shan did say. Her resolve to not break down was failing miserably but there was nothing she could do about that now. All she could do was clutch the bracelet tighter and hope she wouldn't be burying Solara tonight - because that was where her mind was at. Something had happened to Solara and Ny had failed in her job to keep the girl safe. Because it was her job. Solara was under her protection and wrapped up in this world because of what Ny had done.
Then they were stopping and she was clutching the bracelet so hard it was a wonder it didn't crush in her fingers or cut through her skin. The implications of what Shan was saying hit her like a punch to the stomach. A van. Three others. In an abandoned building? None of that added up to anything good. Nyla did growl then, long pointed fangs showing as her eyes (looking even darker than their usual colour) glared at the building. Nothing in her face looked human in that moment, not in the way her teeth were barred or in the way her eyes were locked on the building.
It was the only warning given before her body was changing, her inner animal taking over control of not only her mind and instincts but her physiology as well. It was the margay looking at the building where people were potentially holding Solara captive. It was the margay pondering all the ways she could tear them apart for their transgression. And shortly it was the margay that was standing with Ny's companions, back arched as the growls and hisses continued to emerge from her. The margay didn't need any more information and she leapt off in the direction of the nearest opening to the building.

Re: Solara and the Lancers of the Corona
The suggestion that Micah summon the human fell on deaf ears, or so Zelda assumed. Neither Shan nor Nyla perked up and said it was a good idea. Nor did they say it was a bad idea. Neither of them gave any explanation as to why it wouldn’t work. Zelda assumed that she just must know nothing, and the two other women said nothing to the contrary in order to save Zelda’s pride. It was probably a good thing. Zelda’s pride was a fearsome thing to behold, and should not be tampered with, lest she start clawing and tearing out throats, just for the sake of it.
It didn’t matter. Shan said that she could track, which was a skillset entirely lost on Zelda. Again, Zelda assumed that she was generally just inferior to the lot of them, with nothing useful that anyone would ever call on her for. Her jaw clenched and she lifted her chin just that tiny bit higher. She had no idea why Nyla would have called her here, why she would be at all needed. But of course she would stay. If nothing else, she was another pair of eyes. Perhaps she could be the comic relief – the one to calm Nyla should the woman break down and lose control.
The skates emitted a low thunder as the other two walked, and Zelda followed behind. She watched Shan curiously, wondering if this was a skill she could learn. One that she should learn, maybe. Though she had no idea why she would use it, or when. They were led to an abandoned building, a white van parked outside; they were informed that Solara was probably taken, and that there was nothing innocent about all of this. Foul play was involved.
Zelda opened her mouth to ask what the game plan was; whether they should sneak in and see what was happening before moving forward. They didn’t know how many people were inside. They didn’t know exactly who or what they were dealing with. It would be a stupid idea to just go barging on in. But of course she didn’t get the opportunity to say as much. Instead, she had to watch as her sire did indeed lose control. As, within second, Nyla was replaced by a spitting mad Margay. Zelda threw her arms up in the air.
”Well that’s just great,” she said. Nyla was there hissing and spitting and Zelda had to shake her head. ”You know we don’t speak cat, right? You know this is not conducive to a grand plan?” she said, though she assumed none of her words actually registered as the Margay sprinted into the warehouse. Zelda’s eyes held a similarly furious spark as she retrieved her gun and, with a click, removed the safety. She glanced up at Shan.
”No ******* plan, then. We’ll just go in guns blazing and hope that we’re not outnumbered, and that we don’t all get ******* slaughtered,” she said with a roll of her eyes. With a little more caution but with no less haste, Zelda followed her sire into the darkness of the warehouse—as irritated as she might be at Nyla’s control issues, she still cared a great deal, and to the best of her lacking ability would protect her, and have her back.

Re: Solara and the Lancers of the Corona
Nyla shifted. A large cat replaced the woman, and Shan blinked at it. She remembered when Nyla had first shown her this form, and how Shan had mocked her while in one of the places where the hoards of undead wolves roamed. She let her blood red hues dance over the beautiful animal that was Nyla, and then up and over to Zelda who was completely protesting the whole animal form thing. Shan's side of her lips twitched in an incredibly small smirk. She could do it too. Though she was sure her wolverine form wasnt as fast as the margay, she knew it was just as lethal, if not more in its viciousness. Of course the margay meant Nyla had lost control though - and then off she went, and Shan just stared after her. Seriously?
Zelda had her gun out and was flipping off its safety, and Shan sighed. Seriously?! She felt like she was doing everything for Nyla. Of course, the woman had helped her recently; even given her a place to stay. Shan felt like Nyla was rubbing off on her a bit even, and she lazily stood up and straightened out her back as Zelda took off after Nyla. "Oh, what the hell." She muttered, giving a small shake of her head as she pulled her handgun from under her belt at her back and flipped its safety off. If anything, this would be entertaining to watch Nyla tear into people she didnt even know. Hell, she might even get the chance to see how good Zelda was with her gun - something she found she was more curious about than she had originally thought. Following after them, Shan's step was not nearly as quick as theirs, and she entered the building a good ten paces behind the other two women who were on a mission; trying to save someone who was probably already dead. "Pointless." Muttered past her lips, blood red hues dancing along the area Nyla had lead them to as she watched the two ahead of her carefully.

Re: Solara and the Lancers of the Corona
"Three minutes? I can't do-What can I-you expect-?" Solara stood there, mouth agape as she stared at the circle of vultures who wanted her to perform something she couldn't do! "You just murdered a cat!" Murdered was perhaps a very strong word of an action that surrounded an animal most wouldn't think twice about; some stray that no one knew or cared about, but perhaps the woman saw herself in that stray cat. Her life, a fair bit of it, she had wandered around, not attached to much until Nyla came in to her life. The late teen dropped to her knees in a very hurried way. As if it might make some difference, only, it wouldn't.
"It'll be fine if you do what you're supposed to do." Heather reminded Solara as she began to shake the cat, fast, but gently and kept asking it to 'wake up.' "She can't do it." A familiar, male voice spat out as he watched Solara beg the cat to come back to life. "I told you. You didn't see what you thought you did." There was a sound of a click, like something or some parts of a machine registering together for the first time in a while. Registering to where they were supposed to be. Liked to be. Solara looked up to see something metal in the hand of one of the males, his name escaping her for the time being due to the horrors of watching someone kill a poor, defenseless animal and not think twice about it, before the leader of this Harry Potter wanna-be cult stepped in his way. "I know what I saw. She still has some time." Heather kept her back to Solara, believing the young woman would do what she wanted her to do without any further difficulty, without the screaming and mocking of what would eventually be her ally of sorts. Or so, that was Heather's belief.
"I-I-I..." Solara stopped doing what she was doing, because there was nothing she could do. No more shaking of the cat. No more pleading for it to come back. "I can-can't do it." She mumbled softly. "He's right! I-I can't bring anything back to life. No one can! You all are freaking crazy!" She scooted backwards, as if she could get away from them, but she couldn't. At least not very far because she was surrounded by a whole slew of freaks and her back hit the legs of one of them.

Re: Solara and the Lancers of the Corona
She was fast in this form, allowing her to distance herself quite a bit from the other two as she sped into the building, searching out Solara. The whole building put her on edge, making her want to arch her back and hiss. It wasn't long before she found out why.
Voices. She could hear voices close by. Searching them out she found a hole in the wall near the floor, one that gave her a quick view of everything she needed to see. The margay hunched down, her ears going flat as dark eyes watched the scene in front of her. People. People she didn't know surrounding Solara. Solara standing there with something in her hands - a bloody animal. A sound ripped her attention over to one of the strangers, her eyes zoning in on the weapon in his hand which caused her back to arch and all of her fur to stand on end.
In her current state the margay wasn't able to make out the words, though the distress in her human was clear. Every ounce of the Margay wanted to charge in there and let her sharp teeth tear through each of their throats, no matter what the cost to her may be. Solara was hers and there were predators stalking her. It had her seeing red with the need to protect and save. The need to rip into the predators until the whole room was bathed in their blood for their transgression.
If it had been before the night she'd sought out Micah for help with her control, that would have been exactly what happened. There was a strength in her now that she had lacked before - the strength of an inner control that while not perfect was still a part of her. Just like the side of her the margay represented would never fully be repressed, that new part of her would always be there ready to take over just as her margay would. Just as quickly as the transformation outside had occurred, Nyla's body changed once again.
She didn't revert back into her normal form, but instead her body grew, her fur grew longer and the colour of her eyes melted from the cold black to the warm teal she had been born with. Black stripes and spots vanished. In the place of the margay stood the wolf; tall and strong. Black fur along her back and top of her face led to a rust orange similar to the main colour of her margay form along her sides and tail leaving her legs a pure white. At her current height she was too tall too look through the hole, but that didn't matter now. They needed a plan and she currently had no idea where her childe and friend were. She hoped they were still outside but she doubted it.
She hated leaving Solara there, but she had to hope that there would be time to save her. Her ears caught the sound of those damn roller blades, hopefully too far away for the predators in the other room to hear it. Without another thought Nyla leapt away, towards the sound of her childe a fast as she could, soft paws barely making a sound as she raced towards her childe, a slight growl already building in her throat at the thought of them hearing the sound and pulling weapons on her childe too. She knew Pixie would be in danger by joining them, but it was her fault that Pixie was racing in there the way she was now. It was her lack of control. It was time to play it smart and Ny was ready. Hopefully it wasn't too late.
