Fade Fragments.

Alright so I was looking over Quoth's powers, you know, just kind of plotting when this caught my eye. The In game description of Fade Absorption is: Allows you to pick up fade fragments and orbs. I realized I had not only never seen a fade fragment, but have never heard them being discussed. Curious as to what they were, I asked around and I haven't found anyone who could offer any solid information.


So, what are fade fragments? Is that just a bit of extra description about the power and not equate to anything on grid?(I hope not, these things sound nifty) Is it something already in the game, just extremely hard to find? Is it something yet to be coded?

If I recall they are not yet in the game yet. I believe they are planned for the shadow realm when you can do more things down there. I could be wrong though.

There are already fae shards in game. There will be some that you can only ever find in the Shadow Realm, which will be fade fragments.

Fae shards will eventually be the most valuable, sought-after items in the game. Some of them will help unlock mastery paths, while the rest of them will be used to enchant weapons or create relics. Each one corresponds to a faeish word (well, base word or syllable really), and the true meaning of each faeish character will be easier to guess once the effect of each faeshard is revealed. Combinations of fae shards will also form different effects in the same way the faeish character combinations form different meanings, so for example, if you enchanted a blade with a fae shard that reprisents knowledge and a shard which represents fire, the combination effect would be to "burn knowledge". This might do something such as make the person forget recent memories, or add an additional intelligence wound if it hits, for example. The effect of each shard unification (if any) would not be revealed, so it'd be up to the players to combine them using educated guesses.
