It had been over a week now since Grace's ghost made an appearance, haunting Sara at almost every turn, blaming her, accusing her, dragging months of buried guilt and self hate to the surface, so the bounty was no surprise, the fact she hadn't been eating left a lapse in judgement and she unwittingly opened fire in a public place. The deaf woman couldn't block out the voice, the pain that often accompanied it, or even the occasional hallucination, of Grace torn up and bleeding, that blood which would now rest on Sara's hands eternally.
So the beating she endured at the hands of strangers wasn't unexpected either. The punishment reaped for sowing seeds of unrest and torment. A punishment Grace was happy to abuse. Taunting the now crippled woman to the brink of insanity, or as insane as a telepath could get.
~Told you to be careful.. Warned you they were real and you ignored me! Now look... All banged up with no where to turn. Oh Sara what happened?~
Except she did have a place to turn, Keara. Her savior and food source.. Well, kind of, the woman had a way with humans, could make one find her anywhere like some creepy stalker. Despite the bounty, despite the various cuts and holes in her smashed up body, Keara didn't seem angry, summoning humans for her, even asking the rest of the family to help, something Sara only learnt after watching her sire from behind a curtain, an accidental viewing whilst trying to hide from a persistent and pissy ghost.
It only took a day of this vulnerable state for Grace's words to really hit home and in a fit, Sara committed an act normally unthinkable. An act of butchery equal to that of a slasher movie. In an attempt to appease the ghost, make it less mad. She took one of the humans designed for her feedings into her room and proceeded to hack it up, silently and extremely thoroughly taking the human apart limb by limb, ignorant of the agonising screams until one, high pitched shriek breached her mind, Grace.
~Jesus Sara what the hell are you doing?! Stop right now this isn't you! You protect people.. You failed to save me but this is wrong.. Don't become them.. Don't turn into a monster.~
The voice brought calm to the troubled woman but then it brought a sly dig at her failure, a very slight taunt. And she dragged one of the severed arms off the floor, using it like a pen to write on the walls over and over the only two words she could manage. "I'm sorry"

Re: Haunting a fragile mind.
Sara's room was still a bloodied murder scene when she woke the next day on the cold tiled floor, hair and face covered in dried blood as she looked round, confused, disorientated and more than a little lost. Inching to her feet before shuffling out of the room, letting her hand trail along the wall, something she'd seen Keara do a few times, mostly in the sewers though. Her ears remained silent but her vision did not, between the blood splatter and line of thick, half coagulated blood along the wall direct from her hand, there was one constant. Grace, sometimes half eaten and bloody, sometimes a mirror of the white haired quirky woman Sara first fell for. Directing her, leading her silently to the doors.
Sara pushed open the entrance doors and slid out into the street, bloodied and afraid but led by a silent spectre that only she could see, bumping into passing humans, leaving a trail of blood and fear in her wake, stumbling into traffic with the sound of screeching brakes and angry horns, all of which went unheard and even worse, unseen. Grace had caused tunnel vision, making the ghost all Sara could focus on.
~Careful sweetheart, come on, this way. It's ok, take it slow.. I'll keep you safe, just follow me.~
The ghost had ceased torment and turned more malevolent, leading the deaf woman directly through traffic, down alleyways and through entire crowds of humans, sirens flooded the air as her appearance had stirred up trouble, a missing ex cop shows up covered in dried blood ambling through town without direction? Yes it sparked red flags and a lot of them.
A car sped round the corner and Sara once more watched Grace die as the officers vehicle tore through the spirit but instead of rage, Sara only felt lost and empty, the sudden realisation of where she now was had caused a great deal of confusion but she went without question with the human who led her safely to the back of the cop car. After a short trip she was led to a hospital and cleaned up, sitting in silence and only staring at the wall, or at least what looked like the wall, but in actual fact Grace had returned and was not happy, stuck once again in a hospital, her anger wasn't directed at Sara, it just gathered, then faded, then grew again like a pulse.
Sara's telepathic powers kicked in to protect and serve, bombarding the doctors minds with a barrage of thoughts, nothing bad at first but it progressed to more painful, dangerous attacks, causing migraines and nosebleeds, giving her a window to leave, wandering right out the hospitals front doors, all cleaned up and free to walk back to the Asylum. Ignorant still of traffic as she ambled down the middle of the road, rubbing her arms to try and bring some warmth to her paled skin before entering the asylum and sliding down the closed door, taking refuge on the floor and once more passed out, exhausted both physically and mentally.
