Zodiac: I heard there were bears upstairs

Shan: Bears. Thats just so cool. *laughed*

Zodiac: zombie bears! who says halloween isn't close *cackles*

Shan: *grinned something rare, her fangs showing* Mmm, I do enjoy halloween... so many unsuspecting victims. Its wonderful.

Zodiac: is my birthday actually. well, the one I had when I was alive anyways

Zodiac: *sees her fangs and smiles*

Shan: *raised her brows* Oh, then we must celebrate with kills across the board. No rest for the wicked, they say.

Zodiac: honey, one thing your sire can tell you. no dust forms on this gypsy's shoes. I always doing something

Zodiac: *taps a few keys on her phone-checks the business results*

Shan: *blinked* My sire and I actually dont find much to talk about. We are always experiencing a silence between us... though I dont mind it, she just told me tonight that it may bother her that I am so quiet. *shrugs* So I'll not be being so quiet from now on.

Zodiac: not very emotional, are you? *keeps checking her other holdings* that is not a bad thing. the few of the killer's path that I know are either an inferno of emotion or a deep freeze of none

Shan: *shrugged* I spent a year in the shadow realm, it stole a lot from me, mentally. Im not sure I will ever recover. *cleared her throat for a moment.* And I came back always thirsty. Its unnerving. Jesse says he doesnt think it will ever go away.

Zodiac: *looks up at her* I am so sorry to hear that. *looks sad*

Shan: *waved a hand* No, no, dont. Im fine, still here, for my sire.

Zodiac: but what about yourself?

Shan: *blinked, then shrugged.* Im here. Not much more to it other than that Im not still in the shadow realm, attacking everyone I saw and wallowing away in misery.

Zodiac: you say you are here for her. what are you doing for yourself? besides trying to be part of Ty and help your sire?

Shan: Im not above saying Im in this for me, trying to be apart of Ty. I even bought an apartment the other day, for me and my sibling Jordan. He is trying to help me be more... caring.

Zodiac: so, no hobbies, intrests? things like that?

Shan: *smirked* Killing. And women.

Zodiac: women? as in killing them? *laughed a bit*

Shan: *tipped her head to the side* Maybe. *raised a brow in a jest attempt, though one probably couldnt tell for certain if she was kidding or not.*

Zodiac: oh. I see. well *coughs*

Shan: *smirked, tapping two fingers to her temple* This really is a fucked up mind, Zodiac.

Zodiac: doesn't mean I can't be nice to you. or try to be anyways

Shan: *nodded slowly* I can appreciate that.

Zodiac: of course, if you try to kill me *points in the direction of Shan's crotch and acts like she is shooting*

Shan: *actually laughed, a genuine laugh, flashing fangs* Hey now, I use that.

Zodiac: I use mine too and all my other body parts, so no killing me

Shan: *stared for a moment, then stuck her hand out* You dont shoot me, I wont shoot you. Sound good?

Zodiac: works fer me *takes the hand* so whats it like? killing women. I usually don't do that as a norm

Shan: *shook her hand strongly, but briefly* Like? *she dropped the womans hand and shrugged again.* Its... like explaining how salt tastes.

Zodiac: well, is it a compulsion? pleasurable?

Shan: *pursed her lips lightly* More like... a routine.

Zodiac: *shakes her head* doesn't sound like fun to me

Zodiac: I am up to my ears in daily routines and they all serve a purpose

Shan: *rubbed at her throat* This used to have a purpose... now I just do it because it feels right.

Zodiac: do you remember what the purpose was?

Shan: I believe it was self appeasement.

Zodiac: so it was pleasurable in some form

Zodiac: good, good

Shan: *chuckled and nodded.* At some point, it was, I do believe.

Zodiac: *makes a mental note not to flirt with this one*

Shan: *raised a brow* Dont go getting weird on me, Zodiac. I have a girlfriend. Or something.

Zodiac: *looks at her. unaware she had given away her inner thoughts* did I say anything?

Shan: Thats just it. You didnt.

Zodiac: wasn't sure how to answer is all. I am not one to run my mouth just to be filling in the empty spots in a convo

Shan: *blinked. Good to know, that to Zodiac, there hadnt been any empty spots in the convo. She nodded slowly.* That is good to know, good to know indeed. I myself dont mind the silence.

Zodiac: wait. you kill women but have a girl friend? what makes that one so special?

Shan: She's different. *shrugged, not admitting that the woman practically owned her*

Zodiac: well, that is helpful

Shan: *nodded and gave a slight smile* She is... very unique, that one.

Zodiac: well thats a good thing. no one needs to be alone

Shan: *blinked* Thats interesting.

Zodiac: how so?

Shan: My sire said the same thing to me, the night I... *her eyebrows furrowed for a moment, then her expression went blank again.* The night I came back from the shadow realm.

Zodiac: well, its true. is why I am something of a social butterfly. lots of friends, so I am never alone

Shan: You sound like my sibling, Jordan Brandt. You should meet him sometime, you two would probably get along quite well. *nodded slowly, giving a soft reassuring smirk* He always gets hugs out of me, somehow. Its... odd.

Zodiac: a male? oh. how nice

Shan: *quirked a brow* What, you dont like guys?

Zodiac: not really. they have their uses but close to me is not one of them

Shan: *snickered* No wonder we get along, you and I.

Zodiac: ah *eyebrows raise* yeah, when I was alive I did not have good........experiences with men

Shan: That explains so much.

Zodiac: you want details?

Shan: You want to give them?

Shan: I already told you you dont owe me anything, Zodiac.

Zodiac: sorry. when I would say something like "That explains so much" I am being sarcastic and fishing for details

Shan: No worries. *waved a hand at her* I can be difficult to read sometimes, I know. *shrugged* I just meant that it explains -why- you get along with me, whereas plenty of others dont.

Zodiac: *smiles and nods*

Shan: *offered her own smile, though it wasnt very noticeable, it was there. And it was genuine.* I should probably get going for now, you'll be around later?

Zodiac: later this eve, I should be *nods* it was nice hanging with you again *grins*

Shan: *nodded and slicked a hand through her hair* Later then. Good to see you lurking, Zodiac. *nodded again and headed off.*
Some day I'm gonna be happy. I don't know when just now

Zodiac: *waves*

Shan: *raised her chin slightly at Zodiac, then slipping her gun's strap over her shoulder and head and pushing it behind her back out of the way after clicking the safety in place. She made her way over to the woman she actually enjoyed spending some time with.* Hello Zodiac.

Zodiac: Hi. Hows things going for you?

Shan: Not too bad, not bad at all. I just got done speaking with my sire, actually. Learned about the 'mud run.' *snickered*

Shan: Which, might I add, she failed to mention -prior- to me finishing bridge.

Zodiac: Ah, I see. I was going to ask you how your progress was going so far. *puts a knot in her tote sack and sets it down*

Shan: *rubbed the back of her neck, the muscles in her bicep bulging lightly* Im actually a week -over- on bridge. But thats okay. I dont mind it at all.

Zodiac: *hears a small croaking from her sack. taps it with her toe* Be quiet in there.

Shan: *raised a brow at the sack, then at Zodiac.* Dinner? *she joked, which was odd for her to do.*

Zodiac: *laughs* no, not dinner. Is my busy time of year, so just collecting some needed ingredients for a few potions and such.

Shan: *She gave a soft smirk, clearly pleased that she got Zodiac to laugh at her joke.* Halloween, I assume?

Zodiac: Samhain- yes *nods rapidly*

Zodiac: all kinds of things needed there. *looks up at the woman* is how I was brought up

Shan: *confusion dashed behind her usually blank cold red eyes.* Needed where? Sam-what?

Zodiac: Samhain. is the celtic term for what we call Halloween. to the old religion, Samhain was when the walls between this world and the next was at their thinnest, and sometimes the spirits of the dead and worse would return.

Shan: So you... mean the Shadow Realm? Needs stuff? *she furrowed her brows, still trying to figure the woman's words out*

Zodiac: the Shadow Realm has nothing to do with it, and the stuff I am gathering is for spell casting, potions making, and other things my more human clients put faith in.

Zodiac: I was raised to be a witch, and just because I was turned is no reason for me to stop being one *shrugs* It is my trade, my lifestyle. My 'craft' you could say.

Shan: *Both her brows rasied as her smirk grew.* That is... I think you mentioned something about that the last time we spoke. Thats cool. I was an adrenaline junkie as a human. *laughed*

Zodiac: And the challenge adds to it all, I imagine. For the most part, me fighting a fadebeast is like a single sock bouncing around in a dryer, and I am the sock. *laughs* But it doesn't stop me from trying. I must find the rejects or the sick ones cause I have managed to kill 7 of them so far. Now how many times I had my *** handed to me by them? Ehhh, I kinda lost count. *grins sheepishly*

Shan: *laughed genuinely* Thats like me and those damned zombie wolves. *she shook her head and lifted her shirt up to her mid side, showing a rather nasty gash of a bite wound in her side* They are killing me. Though I get lucky here and there.

Zodiac: woah! *admires the wound* now those guys give me little problems. Weird how that works out sometimes. *unshoulders her carry all and opens it* You want something to cover that or are you one of those 'I'm bad-I can handle it' types?

Shan: *she blinked. Zodiac was always willing to be so... friendly. Usually she would have waved her hand and dropped her shirt, but she was in an odd mood, having just talked with her sire, and so she shrugged and smirked.* Sure, why not. *She poked at the wound, blinking gently.* I know right? I can kill the greater mooncalfs just fine... but the wolves are kicking my *** all over the raid. *she shook her head*

Zodiac: Then have a seat *sits down and starts pulling a few things from her pack* I know we heal quick, but to my line of thinking, an open wound is asking for trouble. You have heard how a few of us actually have parasites now? Flesh eating bugs who think the undead is a tasty treat? The vampire keeps healing then and the bugs keep chewing them. Nothing I would want to deal with.

Shan: *She blinked at that, moving to sit in front of Zodiac, but turned to the side so she had full access to her wound. She moved to pull her shirt taunt on the other side and pin the stretched fabric beneath her armpit, holding it in place effectively. She leaned slightly towards Zodiac and shook her head.* No, I havent heard that... that is just... freaking awesome. I mean, how incredibly morbid and cool.

Zodiac: I know , right? *takes a bottle of water and purs some on a cloth. Begins to clean away the blood surrounding the wound* As I told a friend of mine who had a nasty gash in his head 'Why walk around with that open and have the luck some fly lands on it, thinks this will be a good place to lay my eggs, and 2 weeks later you got maggots chewing away at your brains'? I don't 'heal' anyone. All I do is make sure things are clean and germ free as possible. *pulls a tube of antibiotic ointment out and smears a layer over the raw flesh*

Zodiac: It may seem silly, but since we all know so little about what we are-why take the chance?

Shan: *She didnt even flinch. It hurt, yes. But Shan had always had a high tolerance to pain, and welcomed it in fact. She loved the way it made her toes twitch, the way it made her eyes widen out of excitement and her hair stand up on the back of her neck. It was like a drug, and she just couldnt get enough of it. Which was probably why she didnt have any problems jumping into battles she knew she couldnt win - but still persisted to pick that bone regardless.* Brain eating maggots. Who knew. *She chuckled and put her hands on her knees, curling fingertips into them enough that her knuckles went white. Though the action was moreso from Zodiac inciting the pain than Shan experiencing it.*

--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--

Shan: You know, that seems like a good thing to know how to do. I myself have no clue the first thing to first aid. I always had a crew standing by with each of my stunts.

Zodiac: *eye measures for a patch* The way I lived, we all learned how to be EMTs. No hospital wanted to treat a gypsy. Too scared they would not get paid. *Lays a gause patch over the wound, then tapes it into place* I pull bullets, sew gashes, the basics. Don't look at me for brain surgery or anything like that. *laughs as she checks over her work and nods* I think that will do it. Stuntwoman, eh? In any movies I might have seen?

Shan: *She eyed Zodiac for a moment. She herself couldnt imagine living that kind of lifestyle, having that family aspect with such a large group of people such as the 'caravan'.* I think that is admirable, having that knowledge, no matter how basic it may be. Self sufficient. *She nodded in return, patting her own wrapped wound and then pulling her shirt down over it, only to shake her head and put a hand behind herself, resting into it as she leaned back lightly.* Probably not. It was more so for my own amusement than to be filmed for anything.

Zodiac: Oh, I see. Thrill seeker. Like those guys who bungee jump off bridges and such. *she nodded* Bet you raced cars and other things as well to get that rush going along. *She packed away her supplies and relaxed now. Interested in hearing the rest of the woman's tale*

Shan: *She nodded her head, smirking as she looked over at Zodiac.* Thanks, by the way. *she drew a deep breath that was more so just to give her voicebox air to make words for her story.* I grew up basically taking care of myself. No Father, and my mother was a heroin addict. I was climbing mountains free style by the age of fourteen. I fell and broke my arm then, and had to reset the bone then and there. *She made a motion as she leaned forewards, showing Zodiac how she had to push the bone back into her skin because it had protruded.* It was then that I realized that adrenaline was my friend.

Zodiac: Damn. And not even a shot of JD to make it easier? *She had had her share of broken bones and such as well when she was a child* Jack makes some things easier to deal with.

Shan: *She shook her head.* I have never drank a drop of alcohol a day in my life. *She admitted, shrugging softly.* Addiction ran in my family... and I had already found my poison. Adrenaline. *She smirked and tipped her head to the side to rest it against her shoulder gently.* I did other things too. Skydiving, avalanche riding, coal walking. You name it, Ive probably done something of the liking. Ive even swam with a bloom of jellyfish in the caymens for my eighteenth birthday. *grinned, flashing her fangs.*

Zodiac: Wow. *was all she could say. the mystic had done some unique things in her time as well, but nothing like this.* When I was nine I broke my leg and bawled like a baby. *admits.* Coal walking I did. Is a trick-nothing more.

Shan: *Grinned at that, raising a brow* Oh? *She righted her head* How do you figure?

Zodiac: Firewalking is a trick. That path of coals you see the so-called mystics walking across? Think about it. The red coals are glowing down inside, the the top ones are darker, almost black. Meaning they are nowhere near as hot as the ones below. You move at a clam, steady pace and walk right across them and nothing. Most people are too freaked out to try it, so the illusion holds *shrugs*

Shan: *She laughed and nodded* Yes, it can be an illusion. Though I did it while practicing a vow of silence and staying in a monestary with a bunch of devout monks. You can imagine how real it was in that case, yes? To become one with mind, body and spirit. It was truly enlightening. And painful. *snickered, rolling her neck around on her shoulders. Yes, she had quite the story to tell.* I traveled a lot because my mother OD'd when I was sixteen. I ran away, became someone else. It was fun not being me for a long time... but everyone has to come down from their high eventually, right?

Zodiac: Why? *she looked directly into her eyes now* Where does it say that? Granted in time the things you could do to keep that buzz going would be limited, but in your new state of being, your vistas should be wider than ever to explore.

Shan: *She stared back, her cold blank stare returning. Though there was a hint of nostalgia behind her blood colored hues.* I spent a year and a half total in the Shadow Realm, thats where my high stopped. That place will fracture anyones mind Im sure of it.

Zodiac: *considers for a moment* I got a rush for you. May not be super exciting, but unique.

Shan: *Narrowed her hues, then raised a brow, clearly intrigued.* Alright then you've piqued my interest.

Zodiac: Then do you own a swin suit? You get it and meet me back here. I will take you out and show you something you may not have considered yet. *smirks*

Shan: *Grinned and nodded, getting up and moving to walk off.* Deal.
