[tCotR] Shauna Bishop

Post by Tameka Vassey (DELETED 4152) »

Tameka had been raised by two loving parents. Alice was a tough mother, but kind in her way. Strict when it came to the things she thought were important; family, integrity, honesty and kindness but she kicked *** when she needed to. *** kicking in the Vassey household being the liberal application of high pitched berating and hickory switch.

These days Tameka's parental guidance (and this term was used loosely) consisted of a rather petite Australian woman with a sharp voice and deadlier ideals.

It was a crowded bar, and Tameka liked them that way. Music poured out of the speakers, bodies gyrated on the slick dance floor and in that throng of thriving humanity was a person Meka hadn't seen since University.

Shauna had been in the same sorority if not the same income bracket as Meka, quieter, studious where Meka was brash and inattentive to her studies. They knew each other only as people who moved in the same circles did, superficially and from a nodding distance. And from her place on the edge off the throng Meka watched the once quiet woman of her nodding acqaintance wend her way through the moving crowd.

Maybe it was because Shauna was someone she knew, or that she had recognised the name on the bounty list and connected the possible dots and wondered if it was the same woman that made Meka curious. Or all of those things.

So Meka was watching as Shauna struck, in public, on the dance floor and with complete disregard for what it meant. And with a shocked gaze she stood straight, putting aside the drink she was pretending to nurse.

"No... Shauna." She whispered, "Not here.. not like this."

But the woman couldn't have heard her, but the damage was done. People screamed, others scattered unsure what created the panic but instinct driving them to disperse. Running forward Meka grabbed the woman's arm, dislodging her from the neck of the man she'd attached herself to like a five foot leech.

"Have you lost your damn mind woman?" she yelled, dragging her off the floor, keeping her head low, and getting them both the hell out of there.

“Have you lost your damn mind?” Meka repeated as if saying it again would get the question through the woman’s skull. “You can’t be doing that in the middle of a crowded dance floor.” Meka said, dragging the once put together law student towards her Audi R8. Shauna, for all her law degree and family money was not a happy camper about being man handled. In fact she wasn’t happy at all. She was a raving damn lunatic if Meka was any judge of the matter. And she was really, a good judge and she knew crazy *** female when she saw it and Shauna was doing a good impression of bat **** crazy.

“Let me GO!” Shauna yelled, trying to claw at Meka’s arm. “This is assault, it’s kidnapping and you have no right to manhandle me in this manner.”

Shauna had always been a bit uppity, not in a really bad way but she always spoke in full and complete sentences and insisted on using ridiculously complicated wording and Meka had figured it was all just natural training for a woman who was destined to be some sort of high end corporate lawyer type, or politics. Meka could well imagine Shauna’s family had high aspirations for their little bright spark. But this, Meka would bet her last gold guinea that this was definitely not what the Vancouver Bishop’s had in store for their golden girl. What in the hell was the woman doing in Harper Rock at all and how in the hell had she been turned into a blood sucking undead.

You don’t imagine the people you knew and know to turn up on your doorstep vampires. Meka had assumed it was a rare occurrence that only a few fell into the trap of. Except two people in her life had become like her and in their way each affected her deeply. For Day, her brother’s turning meant she had to face the real possibility that this could spread to her whole family and she needed to find ways to protect them from herself and Day. And with Shauna she saw a mirror of what she was. A black woman, whose life had been turned on its head.

What had happened to the woman to make her do something to insanely stupid? Where was her sire and her support system or the people who should have been helping her come to terms with what she was. Meka didn’t always agree with Velveteen but she was reminded nightly of what could happen if you didn’t have a supports system. Those who slept in the sewers because they had no where else to go. Those who got onto the bounty lists and were sent to the fade for their transgressions, and those Meka wondered if they knew what they’d done at all, if they’d had anyone tell them what they had done wrong.

She was Shauna in a way and Shauna was her. Their lives had intersected when they were in University and again years later in a club in the small town Meka had called home. Shoving the woman’s head down Meka locked the vampire in, slamming her hand down on the top of her car and growling through the closed door. “Keep the hell still you crazy woman… we gotta get you somewhere you can clean the hell up or something before you do anything else stupid…”

Walking around to the driver’s door she slid in, glaring at the woman who sat there glaring right back again. “You and me, we gotta talk, cause there’s rules about this stuff and you gotta work that **** out before your *** gets hunted down and dead.”

This is not the position she thought she’d find herself in. She was in no real state to be the person who taught another person about the right way to act as a vampire. If Velveteen were to be consulted on the matter Meka was sure her own sire would be shocked speechless that Meka would even attempt this sort of education of another vampire. And Meka would be the first to admit that she wasn’t really geared for it.

Her own experience as a vampire was not conducive to intelligent discourse on why you shouldn’t do something. She wasn’t entirely clear on all the rules and regulations of it herself. It had been months since she’d been turned and she still felt like a mouse in a maze someone had put her in and she was running madly from one end to another banging her head into dead end walls. Yet here she was, sitting with Shauna in Velveteen’s apartment trying to education her ex-Sorority sister on the dos and don’ts of being a vampire.

And she could tell she was failing miserably.

“No, look you’re a vampire right? So you suck blood, you got awesome powers and for all that you gotta act a different way is all. That means you can’t use your juju powers out where people can see you and you can’t be walking around in the sun unless you want to turn into a human roman candle and you sure as hell can’t be biting every Tom, Dick and Hobo in the middle of a bar.”

“Don’t tell me what I can’t do Tameka Vassey. You have no idea what I’ve lost. I didn’t ASK for this.” Shauna glared back.

“I didn’t ask for it either Shauna, but damn if I aint smart enough not to go pissing in people’s cornflakes about it. You gonna get yourself dead.”

“Dead? I’m ALREADY dead!”

“Well, you can get more dead, I’m telling you that much and you won’t like it when it happens, believe me.”

“What can they do to me that hasn’t already been done. I can’t go home to my family? I can’t leave this backwater town in the middle of nowhere Canada. I only came here to take brief’s of evidence for the forestry investigation on Indigenous Rights and I have an office that is calling me every hour on the hour wondering why the hell I haven’t returned.. I can’t put off my life because some idiot man who passed me in the street decided to pluck me out of obscurity and give me this GIFT.”

The last was said in a hiss. Shauna’s words punctuated with a stabbing finger Meka was pretty sure would hurt a person if it was punching more than air.

“But look what you have? Just fake your death and live forever, surely that’s worth what you left behind.”

The look thrown at her then made Meka wonder if perhaps not everyone took to the idea of being immortal with the same sort of aplomb she had. In fact Shauna was shooting daggers at her that would be drawing blood if they could. Meka was not helping Shauna see anything but her own loss of ‘substance’ and she wondered again if it was her own doubt doing a piss poor job of convincing the other woman of the veracity of her words. It’s not like she entirely believed it herself. Meka mourned her own family and her friends and of the life she’d had before. And she wasn’t entirely sure if, given the chance to change it all, if she’d have actively chosen this for herself a second time.

Mortality had never bothered her. She had never been an overly vain person and had, in her way, looked forward to the aging process. The sheer normality of it. Husband, kids, grandkids, corns and wrinkles had just been a part of a possible future she’d accepted as .. okay. Life had a pattern and a process and Meka had never wanted or needed more.

But she kept trying, trying to convince the woman she’d gone to university with, of the benefit of a life that could (if Shauna didn’t completely stuff it up) stretch out in time counted in decades and centuries.

“You think I should be grateful?” Shauna hissed back, her words an outraged sibilant yell. A neat trick that. The tone had a rather snake like venom to it, spitting out in Meka’s direction. “Grateful to be STUCK HERE, for CENTURIES?”

Slinging herself off the couch Shauna picked up her discarded jacket and threw herself out of the apartment door.

Watching the woman leave Meka felt an overwhelming sense of dread sit low in her stomach. She wanted to save the woman from her past. She wanted to save her and help her see what could be good about this life but she just wasn’t sure she was up for the job.

“Dang it!” she swore and slumped back onto the black couch, arms folded over her chest. “Just DANG IT!”

[Text] Shauna! You better get back here!

*silence*

[Text] Don’t ignore me Shauna Bishop, I know where you live!

*more pregnant and encompassing silence*

The truth was Meka had no idea where Shauna lived, not here in Harper Rock. Vancouver maybe cause everyone knew where they could lay their hands on any one of the Bishop clan but that didn’t mean a hill of beans here in this town bordering the wilds of Southern Canada.

[Text] Look I know you’re getting this and you need to come and we need to talk. This aint reasonable you can’t be out there all alone, not when you haven’t got a damn clue.

That probably wasn’t the best tactic to use with Shauna. She’d always been a proud one, but she’d had reason to be really. She had been expected to do great things and she had accepted the fact performance wasn’t optional. Of course, Meka had never really been sure if Shauna had been pressured into that state or it came naturally through the fact she had Bishop genetic code. She’d observed that things of that nature (success and the need to succeed) were an inheritable trait that rarely feel far from the family tree. Shauna had it in spades and telling her she didn’t have a damn clue probably wasn’t winning Meka any popularity votes.

Sighing Meka stayed seated on the couch, lifting her feet up to rest them on the coffee table before tilting her head back and staring at the ceiling above her head.

“Well, dang it.” She huffed. “This, is not going so well, Tameka Grace… not. At. All.”

There was Velveteen of course, Meka could always call her sire and be all like ‘HERE… this looks like it’ll be right up your alley.’ Except Velveteen wasn’t exactly the most forgiving person in the world and Meka wasn’t really keen on signing her friends death warrant by dobbing her into the Queen of the Death Squad.

No, Meka resolved to deal with it herself, in her own way. Somehow.

Right after she figured out how the hell to find a rich black self entitled vampire with a huge *** chip on her shoulder.

She had a brilliant plan and it had been so brilliant Meka had jumped off the couch, pulled out her phone and searched the address book for her brother’s cell phone number.

Through her head sang the Ghostbusters song… and she hummed it, ‘Who you gonna call.. GHOSTBUSTERS’. If there was someone who could find people it was Day. Day had a knack for it. I mean, look at how he found her, which was damn uncanny considering how closed mouth vampires usually were about themselves. Day, in his way had ferreted the information out of more than one vampire. And if Shauna was going to be found, then Day could do it. Surely.

Of course, she had a sneaky suspicion that more than one vampire had taken a leap off into the dark gully to tell some random human about her. What in the hell happened to secrecy? Cause it certainly seemed like he’d had an inordinate amount of success getting information about her. Which, make him awesome for this plan!

Except. With a sigh Meka closed her phone; stopped humming and paced the living room.

Except, she couldn’t call her brother in on this one. What if Meka had to kill the woman, or call in Velveteen to kill the woman. She didn’t want to be the one to have to explain to her brother exactly how far she’d fallen down the ‘do not kill thy neighbor’ teachings they’d both been brought up with. Hell, Meka wasn’t sure anything she’d done as a vampire was something she wanted to share with her brother.

She was changing and she didn’t really think he’d approve of what form that took. Which made her pace more agitated, her arms moving as her vampiric speed saw her stride around the place like a budgie in a cage, pecking at the world through the thin bars of its gilded enclosure.

Somewhere in the deepest part of her Meka was glad that Day was a vampire, that someone in her family knew what she was going through but she couldn’t reconcile her own guilt at what she did, what she was becoming with the one man, the only man in this new world, that knew the real her. She had fallen far and she had taken a swan dive into an abyss and she wasn’t ready for Day to see that.

It’s why she wasn’t texting him every day, although, she was sure he wondered why. She didn’t actively seek him out, even though he found her in the catacombs and gave her that ‘look’ she knew all too well. And along with the realization that she was ashamed of what she was, came the acknowledgement that she knew exactly where Shauna was coming from. She had a moment of complete empathy with the other woman’s plight and in that moment realised she was jealous of the other woman’s gumption and verve when it came to what she didn’t want.

Shauna obviously knew what she wanted and what she was willing to give up for immortality and her life and her family wasn’t one of them. Shauna didn’t want to change and she didn’t want to turn away from what she’d been and she fought against the restrictions being a vampire was imposing on her. And Meka respected her for that.

Because Meka, didn’t have the same fortitude to do the same. She was changing and with that change came a darkness and as much as Meka’s bright spirit fought against it, every moment she allowed the morals of this new world to become her own, that darkness spread.

No, she wasn’t going to call her brother. She wasn’t ready for that. So back to square one. Back to… figuring out how the hell she was going to find Shauna Bishop.

[Text] Shauna girl please, you need to get back to me. It's important.

A night had passed, a whole one since Shauna had up and left and Meka had as few options available to her as she did when she went to bed. She didn’t have the powers to find people (not like she’d seen used in Tytonidae) and she didn’t quite know where to get started other than walking up and down the streets of Harper Rock calling out Shauna’s name like a damn fool. And that didn’t’ seem like the smartest option.

She was left with so few options she contacted the only person who could possibly find the woman. Meka lifted her phone, sliding off the bed in Vel’s Alpha apartment, her fingers already dancing across the screen. She was a verbose texter. Her fingers moving faster than her brain and she really had few filters she was on a roll. Today, she was on one of those rolles and it was damn hard trying to be evasive AND questioning at the same time.

Meka[Text] SOOoo hypothetically speaking, if I knew someone who was doing stupid **** and racking up crazy bounties. I should tell you right?
[Text] Not that I"m saying I do
[Text] But if I do
[Text] and Lets say this person is someone I might know
[Text] If I were to know such a person, and if I were to tell you about it. What then would you do?
[Text]Hypothetically speaking of course.
[Text] Cause, you know... for the future and stuff.
[Text] And I hate your sheets on your damn bed. They're ****
[Text] For reals, I'm changing them
[Text]Again

Velveteen: [Text] Hypethetically? Mmm I'd probably invite them over for a tea party and explain nicely how unacceptable there behaviour is then pat their *** and send them on their way.

Meka[Text]I call ********

Velveteen: {text} What sort of dumbass question is that Meka? You know what I would do.

Meka[Text]Tea my ***
[Text]Im just ASKING
[Text] You know... cause, just in case I know someone like that and stuff
[Text] What am I supposed to do with them?
[Text] Cause, I can't drink no tea

Velveteen: [text] It would need to be dealt with. As it always is. I have sent plenty I know to the shadow realm for such a thing.

Meka[Text] What if they're really really young, ... don't they get tea then? Or like... 101 classes or something?
[Text]Hypothetically

Velveteen: [text] You said ridiculous bounties right?

Meka[Text] Yes... maybe?

Velveteen: [text] Ridiculous and more than one means do not pass go, do not get tea on your way to the shadow realm. But 101 classes can be done when they return.

Meka[Text] Just curious
[Text] So, probably... dead then?

Velveteen: [Text] The odds would very much in favour of dead, yes. I am still a little surprised you are even asking.

Meka[Text] Well, it is all hypothetical you know... just asking.
[Text] K BYE
[Text] GOnna go get you some new sheets
[Text] Jordan made my *** slip right the hell off those black ones of yours

Velveteen: [Text] Bye Meka. Stay out of trouble.

Meka[Text] I swear to GOD
[Text] Course I will
[Text} *cyber waves*

Velveteen: [text] Stop. I'm turning my phone off now.

Meka had only mentioned Velveteen to run her off. Not that she minded too much talking about her sex life. For Meka it was an open book and if you were nosey enough to ask, she’d tell you. And, like what she did right there Meka was more than happy to use Velveteen’s distaste for details of her sex life to run the woman away before she asked too many pesky questions. Meka wasn’t ready to have Velveteen ride in on her black horse and kick Shauna *** into oblivion and beyond. Meka still wanted to make her see sense, save her or some other altruistic insanely naive plan of action. And she wasn’t going to accomplish that by telling Velveteen jack ****.

‹Tameka Vassey› She couldn’t go to Velveteen, she couldn’t (or wouldn’t) call Day and that left her a whole lot of not many options. So she tried a different tack. She went to the catacombs to find Jordan. Jordan the sweet natured man who surely could help her, if nothing else hide Shauna’s body when it was time to kill the stupid woman and dump the carcass somewhere no one could find it. Or better yet, Jordan the sweet natured man who could help her figure out a better road

What she hadn’t figured was seeing Emeritus again, or…. Seeing him, looking at her quite like… that.

‹Emeritus› smirked as he saw her, letting his eyes travel up and down her form, a small look of disgust showing in his face, his voice low "yes, I think you'll suffice..as good as any I suppose" his new deep burgundy suit fitting him like a glove, his black shoes shining in what little light was available

‹Tameka Vassey› Meka looked at the man in his suit in the middle of the catacombs and she shook his head. Now she was one to appreciate a fine looking man (and she had to admit he certainly fit that bill) but the suit and shoes were so out of place she almost looked around for a VIP rope somewhere and a swishy shin dig somewhere here in the catacombs. Except the only thing here was her, in her black pants and him with suit that looked like it had been custom tailored for him. Arching her eyebrow Meka stared at the man, her eyes dancing, looking at him in the same way. "I'm better." was her rejoiner, eyes narrowing.

‹Emeritus› he laughed quietly, approaching her slowly, his face very close to hers as he took in her fragrance "better you say? we shall see about that, curious to see what purpose you can serve. I'm taking you as mistress." his voice asserting this was not a question. He slowly put a hand around her waist, pulling her close to him, letting his hand travel down a bit as he cupped her *** and squeezed "firm, I like that, let's hope it proves to be entertaining" He laughed quietly "funny you dare to look at me that way, feigning as if you aren't overly impressed with what stands before you."

‹Tameka Vassey› “Oh I’m impressed alright.” Meka said slying, letting him back her up to the wall and settling into his hold. This, was an unexpected turn of events. She’d come looking for Jordan cause she needed someone to help her that didn’t know… everything yet. And Jordan was new enough in the city she could get him to help her, without him really knowing what he was helping her with. And then she saw Emeritus and realised she could get the same thing, with a nice suit and a ridiculously sexy French accent. What she hadn’t counted on was… this. Meka wondered really if she had a neon sign on her butt that flashed in bright flo go colours "Tap this *** - Open for business." Cause it sure did seem like her damn cup runneth over. Or rather, other parts of her were. But she wasn't one to say no, or to stop the flirt when it was pointed in her direction. Or in the case of this man, the battering ran that had her in its sights and was going to take what she had cause she was there for the taking. Not that she was complaining about that either. Very slowly she leaned in, and bit his very chiseled chin. “Mistress huh? How about… we take it for a test drive before we go giving it… labels.” She offered, not willing to commit to anything just in case the Ferrari he looked like turned to be nothing more than a jacked up Pinto.

‹Emeritus› laughed quietly "Please, I'm above labels. You seem like you would be...fun, not sure worth keeping around. First let's see what you can do. Let's see what you have." he demanded as he took a step back and waited, wanting to see what lay her workman's peasant attire.

He pulled a cigarette from his ivory cigarette case, lighting one and waited to see if she was worth his time watching.

Emeritus turned quickly to cast a lingering gaze on Olive, his voice heavy with a french accent, his tone low as he eyed the new one "Who, pray tell, are you?"

‹Tameka Vassey› Meka wondered if this was how they did it in France. She had never been there but she had a feeling that this had to be a peculiarity of the man right in front of her. There was fire in his eyes, no doubt about that, and they burned, male eyes that wanted what they saw in front of them. But Meka was used to men taking what they wanted, not standing there and expecting her to just strip her damn clothes off in the middle of the freaking catacombs. (although that thought, just having it make her skin heat, her eyes following slumberous suit). First Axel with his whole tie em up fetish, then Jordan with his weird attachment and calling her his sister to this guy, who stood there.. smoking! For a split second Meka considered stripping down right there in the middle of the public space except she spotted a female behind Emeritus’ back her eyebrow arching. Leaning forward she took the smoke from his hand, and took a deep drag before stepping, blowing smoke over his shoulder. “You want to see what I can do.. it aint going to be here in the middle of the damn tunnels.” Carefully placing the smoke back in his hand she looks over his shoulder at the woman standing there, her smirk knowing, enjoying the thought of being watched. “Unless you like it… in public?” she whispered in his ear, her gaze holding that of the woman behind him. Smirking at Emeritus’ words.

For a split second Meka considered walking the hell away. A little of her verve asserted itself and she also considered taking a boot to his gonads and shoving them as far up his *** as she could kick them except. Damn if that hint of danger didn’t flick her switch and for just that split second she wanted to do exactly as he said. Course, he wasn’t to know she wasn’t going to do what he said all the time but if this is what got him off, she wasn’t one to pass up the opportunity to take the Frenchman for a test drive. And public, yeah, public didn’t worry her none at all either. Stepping back she slowly unbuttoned her shirt, and shrugged it off her shoulders. She tossed it at him. Dragging her hand down her chest and past her belly she flicked the button no her capris and dragged down the zipper. Yeah, this was public alright and if anyone in Ty walked by she was pretty sure she was going to get her *** kicked. But right now, she was having too much damn fun watching him look at her. She could get damn used to this feeling.

‹Emeritus› He grinned wickedly "I'm not put off by observation, I prefer to take what I want when I want it, as I've grown bored around here lately I need some sense of pleasure and you seem as good as any, now...show me what you have" he demanded "I want to see if this is actually worth my time" He turned his head slightly before returning his gaze to Meka "not my concern if it stays or goes" snaps his fingers "again, I'm not asking" he inhaled deeply from the cigarette before crushing it underfoot "or are you here to simply waste my time? A small grin creeping across his face
I've seen the deepest darkness

‹Tameka Vassey› For a split second Meka considered walking the hell away.

Course, she wasn't about to have sex in this damn place neither so he was in for a rude awakening if he thought she was gonna get a five second special up against this rock damn wall. She had summoned him once, and she was planning, just where she could summon him this time... that wasn't quite SO public.

‹Emeritus› His eyes lingered over her slowly *turn around* his voice softening only slightly, very appeased with what he saw. He approached her slowly, running his hands along her sides, squeezing her *** firmly as he nodded "yes, you will work fine." He smirked playfully "at least you're nice to look at, have to see how well you perform." His eyes never leaving her firm figure.

‹Tameka Vassey› Yeah, Meka thought, this definitely needed something other than a catacomb wall. But she turned as he instructed, one hand reaching high up the wall, the other sitting around her waist. She knew how this game went and she knew how to play it. A hand to capture, the other to restrain, her back bare but for the thin strap of her bra. In a split second his hands her grasping air as she tomed back to the Eyrie, took the elevator up, slammed into her hut, then her bedroom in two seconds flat and called the man to her, dumping him *** first in the middle of her bed. In her haste, she’d left her shirt behind. And she didn’t care a damn bit.

‹Emeritus› He let his coat fall to the floor as he slowly undid his tie and began unbuttoning his shirt, leaving it fully open but still on as he sat in a chair "again" he repeated "show me exactly what you have, want to make sure this is worth my time" his voice carrying a cold sense of power

‹Tameka Vassey› That was the third time he’d said that, or maybe it was the fourth. Either he was being repetitive or he had control issues. Meka figured it was definitely the later. He sat, undoing bits of himself like a slow reveal that he wouldn’t allow for herself and she let her gaze trail the expanse of chest the open shirt revealed. It, was not a bad looking chest, not at all and Meka was not opposed to putting on a show. Sitting on the edge of the bed she kicked off the wedge heels she wore, one, then the other. Keeping her back to him she threw a look over her shoulder, unclipped the front clasp on the scrap of lace and threw that back at him, much like she’d done the shirt. Then slowly she peel the capri’s off her body, purposely bending at the waist.

Somewhere in her mind she remembered that she had meant to talk to Jordan about Shauna, to enlist his help but somewhere, probably when she took off her shirt, she completely forgot about the mission and about the vampire who was probably right this moment wreaking crazy havoc through the streets of Harper Rock. Maybe next time, no tomorrow night, tomorrow night she’d worry about that woman. Tonight, tonight Meka was more than happy to get ***… distracted.

‹Emeritus› He smiled slightly and nodded, finding her body suiting to his palette "crawl over here, slowly" he demanding, patting the space between his thighs, biting his lip slightly as he gazed upon her "you carry a sense of self-confidence about you, I like that, now show me how good you are exactly" he reclined slightly, placing both hands behind his head, unable to remove his eyes from the delicious sat that stood before him"

‹Tameka Vassey› She was getting a big huffy, but that didn’t stop her from sinuously sliding to the floor and doing exactly as she was told. Games were all well and good but a) she wasn’t that submissive and b) she could ‘act’ submissive but only to a point and that point had better come soon or that gonad kicking would become more and more a potential reality. But for now she played along, because these games could be as fun as the real deal, stretching the moment out like salt water taffy. Her favourite, from shops down at Myrtle Beach, along the sandy boulevard just off the main drag. Pulling herself up, she parted his shirt and ran her hands along his chest. It took her a second to realise, quite surprisingly, despite her reluctance, that she hadn’t said a single word. “I think good… is an understatement.” She smiled then, two, could play at this game. Meka, made a damn awful bottom. For reals.

‹Emeritus› He laughed quietly, noting the slight bit of disdain in her eyes "this instance mon cherie, how about I submit to you?" his voice quieting a bit "this is a random occasion but as I desire to see what you are capable of" he unfastened his belt and pants "I give the full control over to you"

‹Tameka Vassey› If someone had said this is how the night would end she’d have laughed her damn head off. Shauna was meant to be her priority but damn if she could barely remember the other woman’s name. Meka crawled towards him and then the gloves came off. He challenged her to do her worst and he learned first hand that she had a lot of bad in her. The chair served as a first port of call and between them both they tore and shredded what remained of the clothes they had on their body. And still he remained on that chair. There was a lot a person could do to another when one was willing and Emeritus was more than willing. She smiled when he lost control, his hand gripped tightly in her hair to the point of real pain, the fist he made making his knuckles white. But he didn’t stop her and she wouldn’t have let him anyway. He gave himself over to Meka and Meka took every last drop he could give and then demanded more. By the time they made it to the bed they’d fought a battle, scarring each other in bites and deep gouging scratches.

Meka and Emeritus coming together wasn’t a union of souls or a soft joining but a battle of wills where each sought to dominate the other. Emeritus had said it was Meka’s turn this time, but below the surface he simmered, his grip on her hip too tight, her arm bruising from his hold and marking her as surely as she marked him in nails that drew blood. They didn’t give each other an inch and neither did they expect it in return and at the end, when they had exhausted even their vampire selves they lay replete, too tired to do much more than slump on the bed, legs tangled and sheets bunched around them.

There were no more thoughts about Shauna or about anything coherent and Meka, liked that just fine. Shauna, would have to fend for her own fool self one more night. Meka had the consistency of a limp noodle and she wasn’t doing any damn thing but sleeping….

Her head tilted to the side as she heard raised voices and shouting outside the Hotel West. At first she hadn't paid attention to the noise, assuming it was another party in the park thereby tuning it out. Her mind being on more important speculation like where in the world Wolfgang had gone. One minute the man had been around every evening, and suddenly he was gone only briefly talking here and there but not the same.

She had called him a few times only to miss him by moments, and the hotel staff knew nothing. She hoped he was alright and nothing was wrong with him.

The shouting however was intruding on her private thoughts and with a raised eyebrow, and a quick few words on the walkie talkie, she left the front desk in better hands, as she slipped outside to see what the commotion was.

The sight that met her eyes widened them a bit, but then she hadn't been a vampire long. Some kind of explosion had obviously struck the cafe down the street. People were streaming out of the burning building, bloodied and injured. Sirens that she evidently had not heard coming due to her preoccupation, were now clear as police surrounded the building. Walking half a block closer, she nudged someone hoping to get information. As one of the head staff people at the hotel now, she needed to know what kind of a roadblock this would be to their customers.

"Sir do you know whats going on, do we know if the road will be closed or not?"

The male beside her grunted and responded. Telling her about some crazy chick who had blown up the cybercafe with some kind of rough home made device and it looked like the road would closed for several hours. She almost felt bad for the unknown woman, because the male informed her that the police had been talking about finding lots of fingerprints and such on the device itself.

Shaking her head at the useless destruction, she walked back down to the hotel, getting away from the scent of blood. Being so new to this life, she found that blood seemed to get her edgy very quickly and tonight she was working.

Once inside the hotel, she left the rest of the staff know about the road closure and hoped it wouldn't affect the Hotel West too much.

Meka was laying on the couch wrapped in nothing but a sheet, a slippery black one she hated with a passion. But she hated laying in bed with a man who snored, whose name seemed to have slipped her damn mind and run together with the other men she had brought to this apartment and spent hours pretending that feeling so much was the door to feeling nothing at all. Drowning feeling with so much feeling she didn’t have time to think about feeling anything at all.

Despite it, she couldn’t sleep next to any of them as if sex was a different compartment where sleeping had no damn place. She’d happily screw them blind but she wasn’t much for laying there snuggled up in a nice cozy ball for the night. It was too intimate and Meka wasn’t having a bar of it. Jordan had asked her to a couple times and she had, until he’d fallen to sleep and then she’d slipped out of the bed and tomed home. Or like now, when she thought it was probably a bad idea to leave a naked human in her sire’s bed in the Alpha apartment. She really hoped to hell the dude woke up before anyone got home and she had to explain exactly why what constituted as ‘dinner’ was sprawled spread eagled in the round bed. Okay, she probably didn’t need to explain too much about the situation but it seemed a bit of a sticky wicket she’d be more inclined to avoid. The Q&A she’d receive wouldn’t shine a very pretty light on her choice of nocturnal activity.

Thus couch city, sheet wrapped nudity while channel surfing late night crap on television. Home shopping. No. Horror, zombie flick. No, Meka saw enough of this in real life and for a vampire it was like watching a self doco and a badly scripted one and she wasn’t really feeling it. And as she scrolled through the channels she stopped stunned as a face she knew flew up on the screen with a flashing red alert. ‘If anyone has information as to the whereabouts of this person of interest please contact authorities.’ Below sat a number to the police department, the anti-terrorism unit.

For a moment Meka stared at the screen stunned into rare silence, her eyes growing wider as she watched the emergency update flick back to the aftermath of the explosion. It had been isolated they said, and the work of an amateur. Damn right it was the work of an amateur Meka thought, staring at the screen as if Shauna would jump out the thing and slap her upside the head. It wasn’t that long ago that the woman that looked like some jacked up crazed black panther terrorist was reading environmental and indigenous law in Vancouver, and now she was doing drive by acts of terrorism in small town Harper Rock.

Meka shook her head stunned. “Jesus Christ on a damn stick Shauna!” She needed to find the woman and she needed to find her soon or someone else was going to find her and whatever altruistic intentions Meka had started with would be laid waste.
