June 22nd, 2013 (Solo RP)
Solara no longer felt as if she couldn’t leave the trailer, though things weren’t exactly back to normal yet. She’d begun to realize that it never was going to be, that the change in Her was permanent.
The new eyes and the darker aura that now radiated off of Nyla was enough to have Solara wary in Her presence, but not enough to have her avoiding Her altogether. Solara still felt that she was where she was suppose to be; that serving Her was what she needed to be doing. The current situation wasn’t so different from when She had first come into Solara’s life. Solara had followed Her, as she’d felt like she should do – She hadn’t been pleased with this. It hadn’t shaken Solara’s resolve to do Her bidding, and this wouldn’t either.
The change in her wasn’t quite as drastic as it had been, now that she’d called that man. Solara wasn’t really sure on exactly who he was, but whatever he’d said to Nyla when he’d come over must have done
something, which was all that really mattered. Solara wasn’t as worried now, so she felt comfortable leaving the trailer and looking for some things that She might need.
She’d really messed up this time. She’d watched some people go in to the sewers and thought that maybe there’d be something in there that She might need. Solara had overheard her saying more than once that She hated being down in the sewers, so this was something she could do for Her.
The problem was she’d gotten herself stuck. She’d slipped and gotten her foot stuck in one of the crevices and no matter what she’d tried she’d been unable to free it. She knew the things that were probably down here were just like She was, which meant this wasn’t a safe place for her to be stuck.
Slipping out the cell phone that She had bought for her, insisting that if she ever left the house she was to take it with her, Solara dialed the only number listed in her contacts and listened to the jarring sound or ringing on the other end while she waited for the inevitable pick up.
Nyla had spent the day in the catacombs, the place she spent the majority of her time. She’d tried doing some breaking and entering earlier, but she really wasn’t into it. She’d already been scolded once for killing
one guard so surely playing around in those buildings when she was making stupid mistakes was just an all around bad idea.
She’d just leaned against a wall to take a break when the tingly sensation of her phone vibrating in her pocket made her jump. At least she’d remembered to turn the ringer off.
When she saw who was calling she debated, momentarily, on not answering the call. She stared at it, letting the vibrations move through her hand until just before it would go to her voicemail. At the last moment, she slid her finger across the screen to answer it and brought the phone to her ear. “What do you need?” She didn’t raise her voice, but her words weren’t exactly inviting either. She knew if Solara was calling it was because she needed something, as the girl wouldn’t be bothering her for nothing. Knowing this didn’t mean she wasn’t allowed to be annoyed about it.
“I’m stuck. I went down in the sewers and got stuck and I can’t get out.” Solara’s voice, though distorted, sounded frantic. Nyla closed her eyes as she let her head fall back against the catacomb walls, just listening to the hard breathing of the girl on the other end of the phone who was clearly still trying to free herself.
“Where are you?” Even knowing how frightened Solara was, Nyla couldn’t find it in her to gentle her tone. She was going to have to make her way into the nasty-*** sewers to rescue the fool girl.
The conversation continued long enough for Nyla to find out, roughly, where Solara had ended up. “I’m on my way.” Even if it was a huge inconvenience, she still made her way out of the catacombs as fast as she could, travelling the short distance over to the Cherrydale station. She was fuming, and knew that this wasn’t a good time for her to be around other people but she didn’t dare waste time walking over to Gullsborough. She could have just run, using that celerity power, but with how aggravated she felt she wasn’t sure how much control of it she’d have. Being a head-case was so getting old.
It was faster than walking, but she still felt like time was moving agonizingly slow. As soon as she was out, she made her way to the entrance to the sewers while keeping an eye out to make sure no one saw her. It wasn’t exactly a vampiric thing to be slipping into the sewers, but they hardly needed humans noticing and alerting the police. Cops in the sewers would probably be a bad idea for those who frequently hunted down there.
Solara hadn’t made it far from the entrance, which Nyla was extremely grateful for. She was going to get gross anyway, but at least she wouldn’t have to trudge through miles of slime to get to the girl. Getting her foot unstuck didn’t take too long, though the end result had Nyla’s clothes covered in filth and Solara with an ankle too sore to put much weight on.
“You’ll have to tome back to the trailer; it would bring too much attention if we hobbled out of here.” Nyla was speaking more quietly now, disliking the way her voice echoed against the sewer walls, but she was obviously still not happy.
“I can’t. I gave mine to…” The girl stopped herself from finishing the sentence, knowing she didn’t need to and not particularly wanting to either. The telltale clenching of Her jaw was enough to know that she’d already said enough on the matter.
“Here.” Nyla shoved her own tome to the girl, even if she disliked not having it on her. “I’ll get it back from you later and work on making another one for you. Don’t go giving this one away.” Nyla was glaring, she knew, but she didn’t exactly care at the moment. When Solara just stood there for a moment she growled, the sound deep and ominous. “Go. Now.”
The girl’s eyes widened before she quickly activated the tome, getting herself safely out of Nyla’s sight. Nyla watched her go and wished she could go back to the catacombs, release some more of her frustration, but she couldn’t. She was filthy, so at the least she wanted to get out of her clothes and possibly have Solara burn them.
She heaved herself up and made her way back to the entrance. Going home also meant getting her tome back so that she wouldn’t have to worry about being caught outside in an emergency, and possibly being able to perform the ritual to bind another tome so she wouldn’t have to worry about the silly girl.
