Echo,

Didn't hear from you before I had to skip town. I'm hoping I didn't burn a bridge by asking you to check in on Melody once in a while. She can take care of herself, but Melody doesn't seem the writing type. It's like pulling teeth from that woman to try and get anything out of her.

If you care, I made it back here safe and sound. No, I'm not getting drunk or high. I'm trying not to act stupid either. I remember the whole dying thing outside Harper Rock.

I'm not sure when I'll be back. Got too much to do here. Not sure when it's worth coming back.

Anyways, the weather's great here. You and Mal should come visit. I saw him the night before I left at the bank. You know he tried to get some coffee money off me right there in line? He owes me one when you two come for a visit, just for getting too close for comfort. Don't tell him I why he owes me coffee, just that he does.

If I don't hear back from you, I'll know I've done to you what everyone else has, even if I hadn't meant to.

Hope you're well.

Enver,

You suck. I can't believe you left with out actually saying goodbye face to face. Jerk. :P

Of course I'll keep an eye on Melody. She's a handful, but that's what makes her fun. They say it's the quiet ones you have to watch out for you know. They are the most trouble.

To be perfectly honest, I wondered when you'd leave again. I know we haven't talked much and that's a combination of both of us slacking off. But I've known for a while that something is wrong. You're not the same guy I met... God almost a year ago now? You've gone quiet, sullen and it seems like life is downright miserable for you. I'm really glad you're keeping your promises to stay sober. It means a lot even though I know you probably want to numb the pain.

Maybe we'll come out, and if I can't convince Malachai to come, maybe I can get away and come see you. I kind of miss California and I could use some warm sand and soothing waves. Write soon and keep in touch or I will come out there for the express purpose of kicking your ***. Again.

Stay safe,

Kitten

Hey Kitten,

I didn't get to see a lot of people before I skipped town. Don't take it personal.

Has it been almost a year? What a hell of a year. Who would have known I would have died a handful of times? I'm not doing anything stupid here, but it's nice to know I don't have anyone breathing down my neck all the goddamn time. A year ago things were a hell of a lot different. Remember that fort? I've gone there a couple times to think and just sort some **** out. Eskoph's hung around there a time or two, come to think about it.

Did I tell you my ex-wife is in town? Keep an eye out for her. She's a real viper lately. That's part of the reason why I'm here. The other part is about my old man. I'll get in to that more later.

You and Mal should come down here. We could make sand castles if I can ever get out to the beach. Not sure when that'll happen with all the changes going on right now. You only kicked my *** because I don't hit women. Pretty sure I told you that too.

Anyways, I've got to get back to work. Paper work is piling up and it's not going to get done itself.

Take care,

E.M.

Enver,

You do hit girls. Just for some reason you've never hit me. Which is strange since I keep trying to get you to spar and I know you were all in to those cage matches and what not back when. Ah well, past is past. So they say.

I was looking over my calendar and it's been over a year since you and I met. It's been a hell of a ride, too. So much has happened and so much has been left unsaid, I guess it should probably stay that way all things considered.

Any ways, I've sent you a package. I hope you like it.

Always,

Echo Meridian-Chavez

We're going there? Mrs. Meridian-Chavez?

Yeah, alright, I've hit a few girls. But some of them deserved it. Guess I've just never thought of doing that to you. Maybe it's because we started out friends almost right off the bat. I couldn't even kick a fly's *** anymore, so there's no point in even pretending I could.

I'm not sure you sending me a package is a good thing. I remember a package you gave me once when the theatre opened. I still have some of that booze lying around somewhere. I think you were trying to trick me by giving me that, now that I think about it. Seemed a strange gift to give me when you've been trying to keep me off booze since that day we me almost.

As for things left unsaid, maybe it is best. Not much can be changed now even if things could be said.

Do you remember when we went to the beach? Think we'll still be around and any of that stuff will still be there when it's supposed to be? I still plan on going, if I'm still a solid form here.

Thanks for the package. I've not gotten it yet. I'd ask how you got Emilee's address, but I've gotten over the fact that you've got people everywhere these days. But at least you know I'm behaving and not drinking.

Regards,

E.

Enver,

Well some one's got a bee in their bonnet today. I'm working and my signature auto attaches you jerk face. When did you become such a sensitive namby pamby? Any ways... moving on. Jerk. :P

Yeah the last time I sent you a gift I did it on purpose. You wanted to ruin your life and told me I was standing in your way, so I got out of it. Again, past is past and you've learned your lesson. So have I. We've both come a long way in the last year and it's all been good I think.

I do remember the beach, and I remember what's there. I remember adding to it as well. I think we'll still be here, and if you're dead (again) I'll just have you summoned as a wraith so we can go through with the promise we made. 200 years. Well 199 years now. Not that I'm counting or any thing. And if the stuff isn't there, well at least we'll have the dust to remind us what's there. It really makes me wonder if glitter glue will last that long. Now I'm curious.

I sent the package by private messenger so it should arrive some time soon. I think you'll like it. And again, I'm glad you're keeping your promises. Any ways, I have to go swim through some more red tape and kill a small forests worth of paperwork. God save me from the bureaucratic process!

Jerk face? Yeah, alright. Maybe I deserve that. It's been an interesting couple days. I'm sure you know all about it. Have I ever told you how unsettling it is that you have people, who probably have people? Well, it is.

I'm currently at a stalemate. I know all about paper work. I've had enough of it to last me 199 years. Just in time to see how glitter glue holds up.

I said a lot of stupid things over a year ago. Half of it I can't even remember. You've never ruined my life, even if I said it. No matter how many times I said it. You're one of the rare few I can count on. If I said that, I'm sorry.

Got any suggestions on where to go to get a decent black forest ham sandwich? And a Mr. Pibb? I remember when that soda was the rave and could be found anywhere on tap. Now I can barely find the stuff in a bottle. Don't judge my eating, I've been on the go a lot since arriving.

Do you remember where Lady is stashed at? Think you could swing by her sometime this week and make sure everything is kosher there? If you go in her, look where I used to keep my stash in the kitchen. I've been meaning to give it to you since you and Mal got married, but we've never met up. It's not much, but seeing that you guys feel the same way about Harper Rock, use it for when you need to get away.

Enver,

It was great talking to you last night and I hope you enjoyed your sandwich and Mr. Pibb. Sorry it only comes in a bottle. I went out to Lady and every thing looks secure. I hope you don't mind but I took her out on the water for a bit just to keep the fluids flowing through the engine. I moored her up and made sure she was secure. I also went on that little scavenger hunt you alluded to in your email.

The tickets are a lovely gift and Mal and I will use them as soon as we can. I'm looking forward to it really. I haven't been to Maryland in quite a few years and the B&B looks absolutely charming.

I did find something else interesting on my little adventure through the city last night. I was wandering around enjoying the fresh air, when who should I see virtually on the doorstep to your theater? None other than Eskoph. I hadn't seen him in my neck of the woods lately, or yours. I haven't seen him around at all really. And then I ran in to him just out of the blue. Any ways I just thought you'd like to know.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Always,
E.

Hey kitten,

I knew you'd know where to go. Thanks for that. The sandwich was worth the thirty minute wait. I hear that place is always busy. As for your friend, she wasn't that unbearable. Is it a requirement to be that professional at Meridian Enterprises? Or is it just her? I bet she has a lot of friends.

Moving past that. Eskoph's back around you say? He and I got in it a few nights before I had to skip town. Didn't like what he said, so we had a back and forth. Maybe he swung by to apologize. Did you talk to him?

Thanks for taking care of Lady. I don't mind that you took her out. I know you'll take care of her and she'll take care of you. It was good catching up with you too. We should do it again.
