sorry, wafa!
sorry, wafa!
Why are you taking me through troubled waters, I asked? Because your enemies cannot swim, he replied.

Re: Canon Q&A With David
There was a big discussion about this a few months back, but I dont think there was any 'official ruling' on the matter. As far as the realism... someone brought up that with the ratios involved, with most drugs the human would have to levels that surely kill them for it to be concentrated enough in their blood to pass on a buzz or high.Ariadne wrote:Close, but not quite. That covers vampires actually attempting to eat, drink, or do drugs.Wafa wrote:On the wiki, Playing as a Vampire under Roleplay Tips, it hasIs this what you two were looking for?Eating, drinking and drug use can only be done by Allurists, and only after a while of training. All other vampires would get sick and throw up the content almost immediately. Also, while they can consume those substances, Allurists do not benefit from them (which means they can't get drunk nor high).
My question is about a vampire drinking the blood of someone who has either been drinking or doing drugs.
So, human downs a bottle of wine and is buzzed. Vampire drains human. Does the vampire gain the buzz?

John Gambat: how does a necurat turn someone?
Asia I'laned: I am not entirely sure. That's a good questions given that it would be human blood.

Don't think a vampire HAS to feed on someone to turn them. Just give them blood at the right time.Asia Rae wrote:John Gambat: how does a necurat turn someone?

If a vampire eats while in animal form, would the food go through the system normally or would it still need to be vomited back up?

Re: Canon Q&A With David
Ok i seriously do not know if this has been asked yet . Since a couple of Gift shops are selling Plants such as Venus Fly traps and im thinking about adding maybe a picture plant. These plants digest and benefit from animal proteins. So What say would happen if Shamus took the Venus fly trap Mortll sent him and started feeding it his blood ?

Re: Canon Q&A With David
Let's try to remember that this is not the place to speculate on the answers to questions... it's a place to let David actually answer them, and have these answers be treated as Canon.
On that note: can we please get a list of the names of major NPCs in the city (e.g., the Mayor, Chief of Police, et cetera)? I know we can't god-mod them, but it would be nice to refer to them in conversation. I can only call him (her?) "that ***-hat" in RP so many times before it becomes apparent I don't know their name.

Re: Canon Q&A With David
I'm shamelessly bumping this in the hopes of getting David's attention.
Also, another question:
Maybe this should be changed to "the shifter must have a good likeness or memory of the person they wish to mimic"?
Also, another question:
It says in the Wiki that you have to be looking at the person you're copying... but that's pretty vague. Presumably one wouldn't have to maintain line of sight with the person that they're copying... but how long a look is necessary (how long does the actual change take)? Furthermore, do you have to look at the actual person, or just their likeness (is a picture or video recording suitable)? I can't imagine that one would have to troll around the city looking for Digo in order to impersonate him if they already knew who he was (that's definitely not the way it works on Grid). Furthermore, Digo would attack an image of himself on sight... so someone who was changing into him would definitely have to remain out of sight if they were required to see his actual person during the change. This seems to greatly reduce the effectiveness of the power in RP (and on grid -- you can change into someone, but chances are high they just saw you do it, because you have to be in their presence).Wiki wrote:Changeling
For 24 hours, this power allows the shifter to mimic the form of another vampire. To use this, the shifter must be looking at the person they wish to mimic while they are changing. The power can be used to fool others, but unless you are a skilled actor and impersonator, it will not fool close friends of the original person. This power is used to allow the shifter to attack one enemy in this disguise.
Maybe this should be changed to "the shifter must have a good likeness or memory of the person they wish to mimic"?

Re: Canon Q&A With David
Glad you bumped this. :)
I liked the question about names of major npc's and was waiting on a response to that to ask about street names. The question about the name of the river came up a long time ago too.
Would be nice for roleplaying to be able to use these things.

Do PC paladins have to fight naked? And if so, why do they?
