Zen wrote:You have listed recommended levels for fighting creatures, but does the level really matter? Will a level 10 sword fighter with 20 Str & Dex always do better than a level 20 sword fighter with 10 Str & Dex? I had thought/hoped each level granted unknown bonuses, such as hit points that aren't seen on the character sheet.
This isn't really a canon question, it's more of a game mechanics question, but I'll answer it anyway. You are correct. Levels do grant unseen bonuses in combat. It's not much, but it can tip the balance. As for the recommended levels for fighting creatures, those are purely estimates. A level 10 with high enough stats could kill level 20 enemies, but they'd find it slightly harder than a level 20 vampire with the same combat stats.
Question #1:
As a follow up, since you were kind enough to answer the original: Are these hidden level bonuses the same for all characters, or are humans and vampires affected differently by them?

Alexandrea wrote:Would vampires while in 'meaner things' forms, be aware of each other? Or would they think that each is just a real animal?
Yes to the first part.
Question #2:
Is this just another example of vampires recognizing spiritual energy or whatever, or do these animals somehow look or "feel" different? That is, can a Human tell that a vampire in Meaner Things form is not a regular animal? And for that matter, if they know said vampire's identity, can they recognize this "animal" as the vampire they know?

Robert Pratt wrote:Non-anonymous, remote powers and rituals that are cast on your charrie.

How does your charrie know who did them?
That's actually a hard question to answer, because I was originally going to explain it as vampires being able to sense the spiritual "signatures" of other beings, but that wouldn't work for humans. As such, we'll just say that the demi fae-reveals the name to the target either as a whisper or maybe a thought. Demis aren't too happy about being used, so if the ritual permits it, they will reveal the ritualist.
Question #3:
This solution does not cover the use of non-anonymous powers rather than rituals (as Robert Pratt's player mentioned already, I think). My question, though, is this: Does this mean humans do not have a "spiritual signature"? Or that they have one, but it is too weak or somehow too different for a vampire to recognize?
Kamikaze wrote:Question:

Due to vampiric healing and whatnot, would some sort of ritualistic disfiguring be void, due to regeneration? Or could there be a way around this?
Canon Note:
XXIII, currently the only childe of Cobb, takes his name from the Roman numeral Cobb branded into his forehead, which does not regenerate (though the story in XXIII's profile is deliberately vague on how such a thing was accomplished). This was Cobb's usual method of labeling his experimental subjects, so at the very least, such permanent disfiguring is a trick Cobb picked up over the last 200 years.

In addition to my previous question...
Wiki wrote:Death and Rebirth
Unlike other vampires, when a Killer dies they leave behind their body just as a human would. This body remains a uninhabited shell until the vampire can return from the dead to re-possess it.
This one has always run wild in my imagination: it seems, potentially, to be the fundamental weakness of the Killer. Whereas the others create a new form, the Killers re-inhabit there previous self.

1.) What if a Killer's body is utterly destroyed? If Digo finds himself on the wrong side of a flamethrower, or someone decapitates him after death, or mails his arms and legs to the four corners of the world... in what condition does he return?

2.) What if a Killer's body is removed from Harper Rock? Does the Killer reawaken in, say, France... or do they create a new body? Can they even find their way back into the mortal coil?

3.) Does a Killer's body decay while uninhabited by a spirit?
Wiki wrote:Wraiths are the shades of long-dead vampires, whose spirit forms have been consumed by shadows in the shadow realm.
1.) I was of the understanding that the Shadow Realm existed SPECIFICALLY in Harper Rock; hence, Fadewalking elsewhere (according to David) was impossible. So, are all Wraiths formerly of Harper Rock (with the exception of the Wraith Guides)?

2A.) When you Summon a Wraith, do you enthrall a Wraith from the SR, or only one that has been able to manifest?
2B.) When a Wraith is banished, mechanically it ends up in the Shadow Realm and doesn't come back until you Delete and Re-Summon it. Canonically, can the same Wraith be re-summoned?

3.) What powers do "normal" Wraiths have? Can the average Wraith, for example, read the CrowNet if they were a Telepath in life?

4.) Will we be able to, at some point, play a Wraith Character?

5.) How long is it before a vampire subsumed by the Shadow Realm becomes a Wraith? Reputedly, Cobb MAY be a Wraith, which leads me to think that prolonged exposure to the Shadow Realm could have unexpected effects.

6.) Will the "Raise Wraith" ritual work for our Wraith Thralls?

It may be a stupid question, but.. Killers come back and return to their bodies.

What would happen if say.. said body got put through a wood chipper? Or destroyed in some way. How would the Killer Class vampire return then?

I'm sorry if someone already asked this question:

During the day, all vampire pass out completely, right? Soon as that sun rises, they're out. Except those with Daywalker, of course. How does this work for those who get their resting EXP in public places? Like the library, and the clubs - how does one explain all the people sleeping in booths and corners?

okay... so Adding my question here for David.

What brings these raid buildings about? What are we preventing or protecting when the community defeats the bosses? (besides the advantages of EXP, items, and introduction of new enemies.) I've thought about writing a RP about them but I'm not really sure of the correct direction to take.

Thistle currently believes she is upholding some piece of the masq because they could be invaders just like the former blood thieves and setting up shop to get more information from us. She's also thought that the gangster raid houses are more like running drug ops for their mass distribution of meth we loot from them. ;)) Any of that correct? Against cannon or off completely?

Regarding killing npc's... I always pictured that when you kill a zombie it reanimates later or something like that. But what about gangsters and other human npc's? From an rp viewpoint, do we as the vampires killing them get rid of the bodies, leave them there or whatever we chose? Do Mooncalves reanimate later?

And if a human is bitten by a zombie, will they become a zombie too? Does burning the body help prevent that if so?

Haven't ever seen a fae but also curious about what happens to them when they die...

Meaner things:
1)When shifting into an animal, what happens to things you have on you? Clothes/items/etc.
2)When shifting back into a human, do your clothes return with you/items you were carrying?

The answer to 2 probably depends on the answer to 1, but want to make sure I understand both sides of it. :P

For RP Purposes, Could a Telepath Hijack the airwaves of a Radio Station with Techno., and broadcast using Mindspeak? Is it in the Realm of Possibility?

I asked this when it was first released, David told me that a vampire's clothes and items would change with the vampire, like a vampire's magic eminates to their clothing and weapons, much like hos a vampire's clothing will not show up in a mirror.
