Lair Improvement Showcase
Posted: 25 May 2011, 22:38
I thought it might be fun for people to have a thread dedicated to showing off their lair screenshots, tiles they have created, or music playlists.
I might even pick 1 lair every few pages and give the designer a little reward in game.
How to customise your lair
When moving around your lair you'll see a "tile image" customisation field on the right side of your screen. It links to off-site images and changes the tile image for the square you are currently standing in. For a perfect fit, use 200 x 200 images, or you can use smaller images which will repeat, and will load a bit faster for your visitors.
Image creation for tiles is your own business, but there are a number of ways you can create cool looking birdseye view lair images. Amara uses Poser and some other scenery program. There's a program called Campaign Cartogropher which is also very good for making interior map images, so you should check that out. Or you could just take pictures of birdseye view beds, sofas, TVs, etc. Upload your created images to photobucket or imageshack, and enter that link into the image field.
IF YOU DON'T WANT TO MAKE YOUR OWN TILES...
Here are a list of tile images that you have seen around the city which you are free to use as much as you like in your own lairs:
images/necropolis.png (red tiles)
images/empty.png (black)
images/hardwood.png (apartment hardwood)
images/floorcheck.png (grey check tiles)
images/welcomeblacktile.png (black check tiles)
images/sewer.png (old looking stone floor)
images/floor.png (wooden floors used in some of the pubs)
images/road.png (roads used outside)
images/building.png (grey block)
images/grass.png (grass, duh)
images/wilderness.png (darker looking grass)
images/bank.png (blue block)
images/station.png (black block)
images/shop.png (green block)
images/public.png (red block)
images/water.png (water )
