Cold bodies and colder hearts

Valerian cracked his neck as he dragged the man through the alley. Both of them were bleeding. But the other man was missing a entire limb, and was barely moving. He tossed the near-gone body against bags of trash and cocked his head as a rat scurried away from them. The Jorogomo crossed his arms, a cruel smile growing on his face as he chuckled. He knelt down i front of him, the eyes, or eye at this point, looked in his direction of Valerian.
"Funny right," He waved the pistol in his hand in his victims general direction, "You feed and prey on humans, and they respond like this. Paying to give you a piece of their mind."
Barely a response. At this point, the vampire had seemed to have just completely given up. Valerians smile faded, he grabbed the vamps hair and held his head upright with his free hand. "You pay close attention. When someone puts up money on a vampire, I pay attention. Now, I can't catch them all sadly. But picking off ones like you, that's usually worth it."
He let go of the hair and patted the severed limb feeling them wince physically. "I can't kill you permanently, but I can send you away for awhile I know that much. That's why this has to be painful. Chances are, you may try and bring some friends after me when you get back. Fortunately your security is, well, worthless. So listen very closely, I'll remember you, and if I see you again in this world, I'll probably try and kill you again. But if you keep your fangs out of people, you may just not end up in my sights again, if you're lucky."
He adjusted to a squating position, "So remember that, while you wallow in whatever world you filthy creatures come from."
Death would not come shortly.

LATER: IN THE FOREST

Valerian had gone home after being extremely certain he wasn't followed. Cleaned himself up, changed, and headed to the woods to recover the energy he'd lost from the fight. His target was unusually hardy for their description, but they were a vampire, there was always that risk. His wounds would heal, faster than on a regular person at least.
He'd keep tabs on the target on their return, apparently, this one didn't lose their body upon death. That had happened before of course, those types seemed to have a habit of being physically capable. Those were also the types that seemed to get a price on their heads in the first place. He was curious how they'd return if the body was diced. If he saw that one again, he'd ask.
Of course, he'd likely do it again. If only to remind him of what the human side could do. Not that Valerian was human, but he'd let them think that.
