How did I get here?

Post by Galia »

Galia stared at the tube going into her arm with utter confusion. She was weak, her eyes were tired, and she had zero memory of what caused her to get here. She hurt all over the place. She stared out the window, could just see light shining in. And looked over as the nurse came in.

He acted as if they'd already talked. He told her about the progression of her injuries, asked some questions, and she was too at a loss to ask her own until the very end. "How did I get here?"

The nurse cocked his head, "You called for an ambulance and you were picked up on the side of the road. I imagine that may be a little hard to remember, do you remember what happened before? Or after?" he was waiting patiently for her answers. Just trying to determine things.

She tried to think on it until she eventually nearly shook her head before stopping herself, "I...not really. I was just going about my day and the next thing I remember I'm here."

He hummed, he asked a few more questions, tried to be comforting about it, and told her some things she didn't end up remembering. Things were beginning to become more complicated.

Galia grinned as the wound seemed to vanish at her command. It took a considerable amount of effort out of her. But it meant she did in a day what could have taken quite a long time to accomplish. She looked at the nurse who walked in to see the wound vanish, he obviously knew she wasn't a vampire. They'd naturally done a test the moment they'd picked her up. But it was still not the most normal thing to see.

"The gods grant many abilities, to those who serve their cause." She told him simply. The way she held herself was completely different from last time. It was stern and prideful even. A far cry from the pained and concerned expression she'd had the last time he'd been in the room, he set the food down beside her bed. The change, and the words used, were going to be recorded.

The Warrior was disgusted by the creatures that had done this to her, less than beasts. They were corruption. What arrogance they must have to exist outside their realm. These creatures might appear to have the bodies of humans, but they were not their spirits. They only pretended to be. And it ate at her.

She ate, but simply stared at the wall most of the time like this. Occasionally tapping runic tattoos in thought.

When exactly she had split into two separate persons was unclear, perhaps it had happened over time. Perhaps it had only happened in response to some intense fear of harper rock. A need to be fearless creating someone that was off of tiny tidbits of stories from her childhood. Create a warrior.

And that warrior sought out power, caught in the delusion that the true source of power from the runes came from the gods themselves. She believed her mind clear, but everywhere she blocked herself from seeing truth to hold that lie.
