Mortll
Mortll came in surveying the empty Terminals even Zombies and vampires had not put a damper on business as much as a global Pandemic had
Mortll
eyes the employee as he walks into the door "Hello Chance"
Chance
"Evening Mortll, business as usual I see" he answers as he looks around
Mortll
"Yep no one is affraid of the walking dead but let a little virus loose and they hide at home Though we still do a good business in coffee .... Just curb side service Everyone has the internet at home "
Chance
"Makes clean up easier at the end of the day though, does probably hurt the sales a bit by the end of the day. Does the other businesses fair any better?"
Mortll
"Well Dragons Lair is good Friday night Karaoke had to be canceled that was always a big draw But i had the wait staff become delivery staff and its been steady with a no contact delivery. Le Bete De Geduvan is ok some sales drops but delivery options have pretty much helped a lot The rest of the places are self sustainable pretty much Flowers for the dead will always be a thing and business is booming on that end it seems " She shrugged her shoulders
Chance
"I hadn't realized you had so many business, only knew of a couple of those actually. They must keep you busy most of the time."
Mortll
"I have good employees " She smiled "When you have good employees you stay busy but can have a life not that i have much else to do now days Work is good it keeps my mind off of things it shouldn't be pondering"she winked at him
Chance
"Thank you!" he grinned at the implied compliment. "You do seem to have enough time to run all over the city finding trouble in so many forms. Makes one wonder how the flowers do so nicely ?" He politely asked leaving her plenty to skirt around if she wanted..
Mortll
" Flowers are a passion and a weakness of mine They were my first business a hobby that became a quite lucrative business when you love what you do and people take notice of the good things you are doing and the care you put into it ... They will appreciate it and a lot of lets say care has went into my flowers Best Roses in the city best roses in the world if you ask me you dont even have to look at the awards to see that just the product "
Chance
figured the answer was truthful but likely not the full answer either as he headed for the counter. "I would have to agree with that, a testament to your green thumb obviously. Can I get you anything form the counter?"
Mortll
She laughed "I only drink from the bar in the basement .... they might actually have some up here if you see something fform Arbor Vitae Winery up here ill take a glass one of the dark ones "
Chance
"I believe it's still here." He stretched over the bar and grabbed the bottle and two glasses. "So what or whom are we avoiding tonight Boss?"
Chance
poured a glass of Arbor Vitae Wine and set it down beside the brunette.
Mortll
Chuckled " There is no one to avoid im afraid I was glad when you showed up Most people are laying low these days with all the government doing checks and the pandemic" Though coughing at a Soldier gets you moved along pretty quickly " She smiled
Chance
"I'll have to remember that trick. I normally just avoid the transit and checkpoints entirely, so much easier that way. I am finding enjoyment in the lack of people around to see any indiscretions I may do. Although I did see that someone was caught not that long ago?" he provoked her with a friendly grin.
Mortll
laughed "What can i say all work and no play make me a very dull girl ... There was something in needed a very valuable something and it was well guarded mistakes were made " She looked around at the empty cafe "I will have to be much more careful in the future"
Chance
laughed with her as he poured himself a glass from the wine bottle.
Chance
"Well I would bet that any evidence they may have had mysteriously disappeared on them, so they have nothing except what they think they remember. I often find myself doing this for others and many very careless people."
Mortll
"Well it is a honorable thing to do ...Helping even the ones that are often way to careless. Me among them.. my intentions were good but then the Road to hell is often paved with good intentions "
Chance
"I don't see you as the type to be careless, things may not go as planned but not careless." he hoped he hadn't implied she was careless. "Probably not the best place for this conversation anyway. Thank you for the use of your penthouse as well. That has come in so useful, I really wasn't expecting that from you and honestly most of your help since I... ummm ....arrived."
Mortll
"Anytime ... if you ever need anything just ask ... I have built up a network of resources over the years ... sometimes just a matter of a phone call can solve most problems even the tough ones " She winked at him and smiled
Chance
"Sounds like your my guardian angel right now then! repaying that will be difficult for sure but it is appreciated more than you know!"
Chance
"Evening and welcome, what brings you out tonight?" he asked the newcomer as he comes into the Cafe.
Kyrie
"Evenin'! Just checking up on some things. Maybe catch a drink while I'm at it, if they have those here anyway." He answered stretching his back.
Mortll
"We do have Drinks it is a full service cafe " She got up "What can i get you ?"
Chance
"I can get that Mortll, you do pay me to do that after all." he laughed as he stood up as well.
Kyrie
"Awesome. You got Jack Daniels here? Buffalo Trace? Still not used to Canadian drinks honestly, sometimes I get hopeful for something more familiar." He asked with an uncertain smile.
Mortll
"Jack Daniels it is any particular way ?" Mortll went to the bar and grabbed a glass and a bottle
Mortll
"Just relax Chance its been to quiet tonight if i dont do something my *** will take root to the chair " She smiled and gave him a wink
Chance
laughed as he sat back down in the chair.
Chance
"Doesn't sound like your from Canada, where you from?" he asked
Kyrie
"Booya! And no that's all good." He was clearly happy about that as he tossed his hat onto a nearby empty chair, "Y'all make good money on this? I always kind of wondered how well they worked in reality. Not that Harper Rock is the best example of anything."
Mortll
"Well its really just a gimmick another hook to sell more Coffee and drinks ... longer people stay the more they drink " Mortll sat his drink down beside him "This isnt my only business i like to keep busy"
Chance
"With so many businesses that seem to disappearing, should be easier to keep customers. Well were else can you hunt zombies and sell ears for the cash, nothing wrong with that."
Kyrie
"Yeh fair enough, guess that makes sense." He said taking a sip from the drink and smiling as he let it sit for a second. "Ah that's good. Honestly, by now, it shouldn't be a surprise that within a week or two you can find like five people with a bounty on their heads. Half or more of the population at this point is either criminal or combative."
Mortll
Mortll figured that was he clue to leave Half her business were not exactly clean and she wasnt going to get in a moral conversation about this city "Well it was nice meeting you Mr .. but i must take my leave for the night . Goodnight Chance call me if you have any problems closing up "
Chance
"NIght boss and really shouldn't have any problems. Really think the number is that low? Doubt many people don't carry a gun these days with or without a permit because the cops are just as corrupt as the gangsters so where do you turn."
Kyrie
Kyrie nodded as she seemed to be heading out, "Kyrie Dupres. Nice to meet ya." he glanced at Chance as he mentioned guns, "Well I could look past carrying a gun. Honestly being around here without a weapon is nearly suicide. I more mean....thieves, robbers, dealers. That sort of thing. I really don't care if someone carries a gun or not, honestly I'd prefer it."
Chance
"It's Chance if you didn't hear that already and the pleasure is mine. I find it best to stay out of the way of the cops and the law myself and mind my own business as best I can." Without knowing the man better he wouldn't say too much.
Kyrie
"Yeah probably the best idea. I'm not all too happy with how things are right now. Not entirely sure what side I'm on even, if it is a side. On the one hand, been working with police for awhile. But that was in America. On the other, I am no longer even classified as human anymore right? So what laws am I even supposed to adhere to anymore."
Chance
"I hear you there entirely too well, regardless of where you stand it is something to be careful of until you decide on where you are heading." He stated as he picked up his and Mortll's glasses and set them on the bar along with the wine bottle.
