UPDATE: Armor
Posted: 02 Jun 2020, 12:25
Armor is now fully functional. Though there are only a few pieces of armor found in the game right now, adding more is very quick and we'll be doing so as much as possible.
Armor has a melee defense (MD) and a firearms defense (FD) rating which stacks to create a total MD and FD percentage. Your total MD / FD shows what chance you have of resisting an attack by firearms or melee. So if you collected some of the best armor in the game you could end up with a 60% total MD and a 30% FD for example, depending on which armor you found. In this example you'd have 60% chance of resisting every melee attack, but only 30% chance of resisting firearms attacks.
Each time armor defends you from a wound (in battles or skirmish) its quality drops by one point. When it reaches zero it unequips and doesn't count towards your totals anymore. Armor cannot currently be repaired, but this feature is coming soon. Armor will only count if its equipped on your "battle" set, not your "social" set, and anything equipped on your social set won't degrade in quality.
Denim and leather clothes count as very weak armor, so be sure to grab some of those while you're looking for armor drops from loot (which will happen more often when we add more armor).
Armor is also planned to be craftable in future.
