Birthdays....Do they mean anything anymore?

Waking up in her crypt, the bunny bundled up next to her as it did whenever she was home. Stretching out as she tried to wake up for just another boring day. Each day was just like the day before. Hunt, feed, work on businesses, rest, then rinse and repeat. Rolling over, she checked her phone and frowned. Asia's eyes rested on the date and she frowned. It was the date when she was brought into this world. Not the world of eternal night but the world in general. It was her birthday. Most probably celebrated their rebirth to the eternal world but she was realistic knowing that she wouldn't have this life if she was never born to begin with. Frowning with a groan as she put her phone back down on the night stand before she pulled the bunny closer. Petting the bunny as she snuggled in. "Well Blackheart...another boring day." Kissing the bunny on the nose, she decided it was time to get up.This is back dated to Monday May 4, 2020.
Asia needed to get the day started as she walked through the crypt. Her family were long gone for various reasons and the life of eternity was beginning to weigh on her but hope that her new childer would turn that around. Give her reasons to get up each night. Showering quickly so she could rush out and check on her businesses. They effectively ran themselves at this point but she still went in each day to check stock, cover a shift if one of the staff had gotten sick, and write the payroll checks. Getting dressed, she pulled her hair up into a ponytail that was rare for her but today...she just didn't care. Slipping on her shoes, she was ready to leave but fed the bunny quick and checked the water levels so that Blackheart had all she needed while Asia was away.
The businesses didn't take long to manage as all the staff for the day had made it in and shipments had recently arrived so the stock was good. She took a few moments to write the payroll checks and check her emails. Everything was running smoothly and there hadn't been any new hacks for a week which made her happy. Packing everything up, she sent an email to each of the store managers that the payroll checks for their staff was in the safe at Underground Records. The shop in the Swamp was one of her more secure locations as it was on the edge of the city. Packing everything up as she checked one more thing before she left. It was a slow day at the shop but there was still plenty of time for that to turn around. Letting the manager know that she could message her if anything came up and needed Asia to return. The manager nodded as she walked her towards the door.
Back on the street, she took the free time that she did to decide that she wasn't going to hunt. It was just mundane. She needed something more but didn't know what that meant. Playing with her wedding ring, her heart felt crushed because this would have been on of the best nights to spend with Gambit. She kept his business running while he was gone even though she didn't see the profits of it. It had been ages since she visited their home above Grosetto's because it wasn't the same without him. So she stayed at her crypt, the home she had before he danced into her life and changed her world. Stopping in to the restaurant to make sure they had enough food for the dinner rush. The chef was pleased to see her and had remembered it was her birthday. Nodding softly as she forced a smile on her face as he told her Happy Birthday. "Thank you, it's appreciated. Can I have a plain salad of just greens and carrots, I want to treat Blackheart to something other than rabbit food." The chef smiled as he quickly put a large take-out order together for her. Thanking him again as he gave her the container and made her leave for the night. Waving to a few of the customers that ate dinner at the restaurant nightly.
The night had become bitter but it was only early spring so to expect the heat, was naive. Wrapping her arms around her while she kept the container even as she walked. There was a little shop near the transit that carried party supplies, so she took a moment to pick up a package of candles and a lighter before she made her way back to the crypt. Taking the transit to Cherrydale, the crypt was was almost in sight. Maybe she would just watch movies or play video games to complete her night. Opening the door of her crypt, Blackheart came bounding into the main room to meet her. "Hello precious. I have a little surprise for you." Popping off the top of the container, she placed a single candle in the middle of the salad. Lighting, she stared at the flame for a few moments before she signed and sang 'Happy Birthday' to herself. After a few moments, she blew out the candle. Her eyes drifted down at the little bunny next to her and she smiled. Taking the candle out, she walked over to the couch with the salad and sat down. Blackheart jumped up next to her and she placed a couple pieces of green leaves and a baby stick of carrot on the couch. The bunny began to munch as she flipped on the television trying to see what she could find to watch.
