Friends or Enemies (Skiff Farkas)

It wasn't long before Raksha had walked off the plane and stepped foot into Harper Rock. Marisol had been taking care of her and making sure that she had everything that she needed to succeed with the ridiculousness of the city and the military while being able to dispatch the various uglies that walked through the streets that weren't either human or vampire. She had found a place that was called the Quarantine Zone. The amount of zombies that shuffled about were astounding and she used the weapon that Marisol had given her to the best of her ability.
Zombie after zombie until her bag was full. That was her goal because as much as she hated military, there was a dude at the edge of the Quarantine Zone that was offering good money for ears. She didn't want to know what he wanted them for but she would take the money and bank it for ammo and blood. Ammo was cheap enough but blood was outrageous so if she had to spend five minutes with a man that would make her skin crawl so that she could buy sustenance, then that was exactly what she was going to do. At least until she found a better way to restore the blood she needed.
Once she got her pay day, she rushed back and put the money into the bank. It was convenient that there was an ATM in the apartment building that resided in the Quarantine Zone. Depositing the money, she was back to hacking and slashing at the zombies. Money was what made the world go round. As she hunted, she saw the same faces and that never bothered her but there was one....a guy that constantly beat her to the zombie that she had her eye on and yet when she would change direction, he would be there again. Who in the hell was this guy. Her zombie! Shaking her head as she turned to go another direction. Finally she got a zombie to kill only to turn and there he was again. "Hey! What the hell is your issue? I'm just trying to make a living here." She growled the words at the man and then turned to find another zombie to kill.

Skiff hadn't been purposely trying to take her kills, she would create an opening and he would move in. He had been enjoying fighting in tandem with someone. He admired the skill of the woman that was fighting, her movements were graceful. Her strikes clean and precise, no wasted movement. The sounds of steel and fire arms echoed in the chamber as the battle continued. He matched her timing waiting for the opening then struck the sword slicing through the neck clean. Looking around for more he noticed the area was clear for the moment.
"Hey! What the hell is your issue? I'm just trying to make a living here."
he heard the woman yell. Turning he tilted his head confused. She was angry with him, he looked her over quickly not seeing any wounds so she hadn't been hurt. He wasn't planning on keeping the ears from the zombies as he wasn't hurting for money at the moment. Then it clicked, she thought he was trying to keep the ears from the zombies. Reaching into his back he holds out the ears he collected.
Honesly not trying to stop you. You were doing such a good job at creating the perfect opening for a strike that I decided to help. Dropping the bag, he brough his assault rifle up quickly, shooting the zombie behind her. Lowering the rifle, he held out his hand.
Skiff Farkas, a pleasure to meet you.

Raksha wouldn't admit to him that she noticed they worked well as a team but he always took the final kill which only led her to believe that he was stealing her kills that she had worked hard for. He seemed to favor a gun which she felt was the lazy mans way out of fighting. Skill to her was measured with a proper use of a blade. As the man now towered over her, she could feel his eyes assaulting her though she couldn't tell if he was checking her out or looking for a weakness to bury her. Changing her stance to prepare for a fight, his words caught her off guard. He was complimenting her and thought they worked well as a team. At least she wasn't the only one that thought it but he still took the ears for himself.
Changing her stance once more seeing that they were simply going to have a conversation only to perk her brow as he passed her the bag of ears. He rudely dropped the bag only for her to quickly catch it. Growling as she noticed the gun pointed at her, she quickly drew her blade and held it at the center of his throat, touching just enough to show that she was serious about cutting him open. Perking her brow once again as she heard the thump behind her after he shot his weapon followed by him extending his hand towards her and introduced himself. Skiff huh....interesting name or maybe it was a name he picked for himself to hide from the human world. At least so she assumed. Not moving the blade as she glanced behind her to look at the now dead zombie before turning her attention back at him. Grumping silently to herself, she put her blade down and took the offered hand to give it a solid shake of his hand.
"It has been an interesting introduction to say the least. Raksha..."
Looking back at the zombie once more only to quickly cut the ear away from it's body and checking the pockets to see if there were any other treasures in store. Sadly, empty pockets once again before she huffed and put the ear in the bag that he had passed her. Standing up once more she looked back at him. "So do you feel that I need saving or something? I can handle myself so maybe it's you that needs saving?!" Raksha hoped that he wasn't dumb enough to tell her that because she was a woman that she was in need of his aid. That would be the fastest way to get stabbed but that was all up to him.

The sword at his throat hadn't phased him, it wasn't the first time he had one pointed at him. He had stood still when she had checked behind her, no point in pissing her off more. It seemed he had a knack for that. He had seen the glance at his gun, he was glad his practice had been paying off. He preferred his sword if he was being honest, however he knew he would need to add to his arsenal. He smirked at her comment, admiring the firm shake she had given his hand. While she had turned around to deal with the zombie's ear, and search it thoroughly he kept an eye out.
"So do you feel that I need saving or something? I can handle myself so maybe it's you that needs saving?!"
"Doesn't really matter to me which way your plumbing works when it comes to fighting, I have known women that couldn't stand the sight of blood. I have also known women that make a nuclear bomb look like a fire cracker. You have no need of help from me. I just figured I would be helpful seeing as the only reason I am here is to practice with this." Gesturing to the rifle in his hands with a nod of his head.
"Not quite as proficient with guns as I would like to be, it is why I was using the openings you provided so that I could work on my critical shots. You can have the ears, was planning on giving them to you anyhow seeing as I kept taking the final kill. Now if your thinking of fighting, well...." Putting the riffle over his shoulder in a cross body action, he reaches over his shoulder drawing his sword.
"I would really prefer not to, however it is up to you" He says placing the point on the floor his hands resting on the hilt. He had used this stance many times, as he knew it would usually draw his opponent into a false sense of security. He could easily defend himself from most attacks from this stance. His light grey eyes met hers.
"Your call Lady"

Her hand gripped tightly at the blade in her hand as he spoke but at least he was smart enough to state that he wasn't helping her because she was a woman. Maybe there was hope but she wouldn't bet on it. Raksha never placed bets unless she knew that she would win and she was still unsure about him. Nodding her head as he described the women of his past. Her eyes darted to the gun in his hand as he said that he was gaining practice.
Dark orbs continued to watch his every move as he spoke. He had always planned to pass her the ears which she found interesting as he didn't know her but maybe this was his attempt as they now stood here and spoke for once and they had been hunting here for weeks. It was the moment that he rested his gun and pulled his sword that made her rethink her stance and her right slide backward as he remained normal with the tip of his blade touching the ground. He had a proper sword where she had only a dagger, however, she took notice of the worn look his blade carried and smirked as she had a good blade. One wrong move by him and his sword would simply shatter and Raksha counted on it.
She had seen this attempted stance before in an attempt to make the mouse seem safe from the cat. A low but playful growl slipped from her as those dark obs looked him in the eyes as she gave him a smirk. "I'm no Lady...I'm the ******* Queen!" It was an old title from a very old time but her attitude toward the title whether she carried it in this city or not gave her power. She would let him make the first move as she gripped the blade tighter, never letting go of his gaze as he perked a brow. "Let's play!"

Skiff watched her closely, you could tell a lot about a person just from the way they prepared for a fight. He wasn't fooled in the slightest. The dagger she was holding was well made, her grip showed that she was no stranger to using it in a fight. Her stance was good. If her reflex's where sharp she as he thought she would be a difficult opponent. Still, figured he would make sure they were both on the same page.
"Queen huh? Well then your highness, I propose melee weapons only. It seems like it would be a fair fight. Your no stranger to knife fighting, judging by your stance. I feel a rifle versus a pistol would be... unfair. It has been said many times, many ways, that the best way to know the character of someone is to fight them. Using his boot he kicks the tip of his sword, bring it up quickly the tip just nicking the fabric of her coat, resting it against his back, ending in a courtly bow. Of course I was always told it was polite to bow to a queen, and being the gentleman I am how could I resist. His eyes lever left hers, though they were dancing with mischief. He wasn't sure how serious she would take this fight. But for him, he was going to try to have some fun with it. Slowly Skiff stood back up, bringing his sword to a ready position.

Her eyes watched him carefully and as he mocked her, he stated his terms. No she want's a stranger to a knife fight and one that she held her own on very well. He was accepting to playing and this might lead to an interesting evening. She snorted as he felt that the difference in their guns would be labeled unfair while he carried a sword to her dagger. Interesting! "It's only unfair if you think it's unfair but a weapon is simply a tool to our abilities to use them."
Carefully she watched him and quickly she dodged the attack. As he bowed, she perked her brow and bared her fangs, he was prepared to go again. Taking a beat to look down to see if he landed a hit. Her nice leather jacket that she had stolen had a slit in arm. The asshole ruined her jacket. She could take any pricks or stabs that would come but now she needed to replace her jacket. Whipping it off and tossing it to the ground as if it were mere rags, she didn't hesitate to shoot him and landed a bullet straight into his shoulder he wasn't using to fight. "Now it will be a fair fight but know this...you owe me a new jacket."
Pulling her energies together to focus on the fight they were about to endure. Looking for any possible weakness he had to use to her advantage. Stepping forward, she swung her blade with grace. It was interesting he had the same talent to dodge the attack as her blade was met with nothing but skin. Okay so they were well matched. This was indeed going to be fun as she waited for him to take notice.

I find I must disagree with your point of view on weapons, they are an extension of ourselves. he smirked, he was enjoying this sparing of words and weapons. He would have to be careful though. Even as he watched her strip the coat off and drop it on the floor. The shot took him by surprise, forcing him to turn to the side to protect the injured arm. She was fast, he hadn't even seen her pull the gun. The distraction had worked, though it irked him to know he had fallen for it. Tilting his head in confusion, moving just far enough to avoid being hit with the dagger. I am unsure how you consider this to be fair. Sliding forward he slashed at her, watching as she flowed away from the strike. Good to see her reflex's were fast. Now if he could only get her to not shoot him again. Though how you expected to get through a fight with out your cloths being damaged is beyond me, Highness. The injury would slow him down to be sure, but he found he was still having fun.

Tilting her head as he spoke about the weapons being an extension of them only for her to laugh. "That's is another version of it being based on our skill and abilities or they would never be an extension." He had a brain, that was a benefit as she rarely liked fighting those that were lacking. It wasn't any fun unless she was in the mood for shear destruction. He was her target now and with each attack came interesting conversation.
He was confused about how she felt it was fair that she shot him. No that was a warning but he would pay for a new leather jacket and this time she earned it instead of stealing one. Skiff had struck out again but she jumped back from the attack. Yes he cut her clothes but those she didn't care about as she had ruined many clothes before. As his eyes looked at her gun, he was worried she might shoot him again. Nodding her head as she held up the gun and carefully moved to place it on the ground. "No gun, no worries." A dark smirk slipped upon her lips as continued to mock her by calling her 'Highness'. Moving quickly, she closed the gap between them and raised her dagger high as she planned to strike. Her blade came down and landed upon his face and as she took a few steps back, she looked at him and then down at her blade as the eye had remained stuck. "Hmmm...interesting...I'll keep this in a jar upon my mantle."

He watched her set the gun on the floor. He had seen her coming and raised his sword to block, yet her speed served her well. She once again moved, avoiding the block. The pain exploded on his face, her dagger sinking deep, one of his eyes now severely damaged. He could now add vicious to his description of her. He knew now he was in danger of loosing this fight, not that it would stop him. Then I would have to say I misspoke, Highness. Skiff launched a series of brutal swings. Not surprised with her dodging and avoiding his strikes, seeing the pattern to her movements he times his last strike with a slash across her face, the eye slashed. An eye for an eye, Highness. Skiff says, forced to step back to bring her within his sight line again. You are right a weapon is only as good as the one that wields it. A great sword in the hands of a poor swordsman does little Bring his sword again to the ready, she was skilled as he thought. With a quick wit, and smarts along with it So, your wanting to keep a part of me with you. You know usually people use material items for that. Not actual body parts.
