Segreti had made himself pretty busy recently trying to figure out how to retrieve the rights of the vampires. It was really a strange thing that he had come to this situation where he was attempting something like that, but, here he was. Running his businesses, attempting rituals, researching vampires, and now trying to free them from the problems that the military was now tossing onto them. Regardless of how intense the original laws were going to be and got brought down, it didn't mean new laws or alterations to the law weren't going to be made. And Segreti, for some reason, was out here trying to fight for them.

At the moment though he was on his way to the forest, somewhere to hide around and refresh anima. But mainly so that he could, if he was lucky, discover a fae. Or a demi-fae. Really he was just curious to actually meet them. He'd finally met vampires and learned more about them. But demi-fae were somehow even more difficult to locate.

However that wandering was stopped as he heard a very large amount of crashing and shuffling coming from an alleyway as he passed it. he narrowed his eyes trying to take a deeper look inside, it was actually filled with crates and boxes. A number of those seemed to have fallen over and he could still hear crashing coming from inside. He breathed in for a moment, he wasn't that powerful, but he could handle himself if he used his powers. "Hello! Having some trouble in there?" he asked aloud starting to try and make his way inside the over-filled alleyway.

Definitely not my day. Lucy thought as she ran along a small street. Not only had she managed to miss the bus she wanted to take, she had to stumble into trouble as well. Originally, she only planned on taking a shortcut through a backyard to get to the nearest bus stop before the bus departed. How was she supposed to know that a very angry dog would get in her way and even chase her?

Rushing around a corner and into a small alleyway, she toppled over when she ran into what seemed like a pile of crates. With a crash she ended up in the middle of the pile, quickly pushing them off herself. “Damn.” Getting back up as quickly as possible, she pushed boxes and crates aside and hurried on along.

Then Lucy heard someone speak on the other side of the box pile. She shouted: “Watch out, angry dog incoming!” , before pushing a few more crates out of the way while running and getting into view for anyone at the other end of the alleyway.

WEARING
A crisp breeze nuzzled the back of his neck as he gazed out at the sleepy streets. While it certainly smelt a lot better than those sewers did, it wasn’t by any grand measure. Hot air and stench had a nasty habit of rising, and the Vampire had just so happened to have perched himself in the zone of pure air pollution. His nose crinkled from the scent of motor oil, decomposing garbage, human waste, and the nearby conifers from the forest’s edge. With focus, he could block it out and remain perfectly composed on the roof of the pop-up coffee shop - or rather, the vintage mint campervan at the street corner that sold barista-style coffee. As it was somewhat close to dawn - perhaps 5 in the morning - the little store was closed, which allowed Myk to sprawl his long body across the rooftop like a black leather cat without interruption.

Whilst lying on his side, he was able to bear witness to a curious scene in an alleyway not fifteen feet away. At first it all seemed rather ordinary as far as Harper Rock was concerned: one strange man goes for a stroll toward the forests before dawn, but he’s accosted by some unseen commotion. There was a dog barking, a feminine voice was shouting, crates were crashing to the ground to become dusty old splinters, and now the strange man was about to be thrust into the role of white knight or opportunistic predator depending upon a choice. The world held its collective breath as it waited for the decision to be made and Myk gathered himself into a seated position to watch as well. His legs kicked over the side of the campervan to swing freely, though the metal spines of his boots scraped the side of the van as they did so.

Myk’s long, bone-white hair moved like soft beach grass in the wind; it swayed romantically around his soft features, framed the green of his eyes, and cloaked his slender frame. Dressed all in black as he was, it was only that long mane of his, the pale perfection of his skin, and his love of silver accessories that distinguished him from the leering shadows. Nevertheless, Myk suspected that he would go unnoticed from where he was as the chaos ensued. He would prefer to play the spectator at any rate because he didn’t have the time to chase mortals around, not at this time in the night. The stars were calling his name, luring him to a place of shelter and sleep, where the bedsheets smelt of star anise, mandarin oranges, olive blossom, and cedar wood.

The group hears what sounds like dogs barking loudly and angrily, from a short distance away.

Segreti heard someone curse as more boxes seem to be shuffled around, sounded like a woman. Then he heard her shout a warning of an angry dog, before managing to make her way outside. He glanced at her and cocked her head choosing to wait for her to see what was going on. He wasn't particularly concerned about a dog, he'd just jump away if necessary. Felt a bit like a frog of some kind when doing it so much, but hey. If you could get away from an enemy before they got to you just be jumping over a wall, wouldn't you?

However regardless of that waiting he could hear not just one dog, but multiple ones, barking very loudly, and rather closely. He wondered if that was a result of other dogs barking at the angry one as it passed, or if it had somehow riled up a bunch of new ones. It actually kind of amused him, due to a particular new power he'd learned.

He stepped in line so that he could rush along beside them because he was rather curious about the situation,"Got yourself into a bit of trouble didn't you?" he joked, in spite of what might seem at least a semi-serious situation. "Any way I can help you can think of?" he offered.

Things seemed to get worse by the minute. Now she heard several dogs barking, although she was not yet sure whether the others were also following her or merely reacting to the one that was. Either way, the barking would draw attention to her at some point. Well, she already had the attention of this man who apparently had been walking along the street. By now Lucy began to understand why her mother had preferred their home over a city. Getting away from difficult situations had been a lot easier there.

Interestingly, the man didn't seem to take the situation too seriously. Lucy wasn't particularly worried either, but she would prefer not to harm the animal. “Tiny bit of trouble.” she said, in a tone bordering between joking and serious. “You know of any places nearby I could climb to get away? Wall, Fire-Escape, Dumpster, anything?”

‘Ah, the white knight rises… How boring.’

The thought rang in his mind like chiming bells amidst the howls and barks of the wild dogs. Myk dropped forward over his thighs, milky hair dripping around him like a bridal veil as his arms were folded over the tops of his knees. A frown formed in his seemingly frozen features, creating a crack along the ceramic skin of his brow. The expression on his face suggested that he was not only bored, but irritated. And how could he not be when he selfishly reflected on his own situation and reserved his ire toward this loathsome idea that somehow he needed to be saved now. It had been quite a time indeed since Myk had felt in need of rescuing and when he had been that naive, foolish, and hopeful, he never would have expected or wanted his saviour to be the type of knight whom was scarcely his elder and whose armour was hardly shining but was soaked in blood and sin. Ultimately, Myk had grown rather bitter to the concept of chivalrous, romantic heroes.

Despite the Vampire’s grumbling, the expression on his face was soon replaced by a look of wickedness as a new thought caused his head to tilt just slightly to the left and for a smirk to shadow his lips. Myk sat up straight again before slipping from the roof of the campervan. The short drop was handled with a measure of grace that was absurdly beautiful; Myk made sure to reduce the fall by bending at the knees and keeping his body loose to channel the force of the impact into the ground. His footfalls were silent; his rubber soles absorbed some of the impact quite nicely and he sprang back up to fall height mere seconds after landing. Long, bone-white tresses fell back into their place around his shoulders after doing their impression of a shredded parachute, and Myk only had to brush one stray strand out of his face to properly concentrate on the couple in the alleyway.

The distance between them was fairly insubstantial and he’d managed to discern a sewer’s entrance close to their feet. With dawn fast approaching, the Telepath decided that he’d had quite enough of sitting about. Myk blinked twice before humming to himself, a tone reflecting his bemusement. There were conflicting suggestions running about his brain like a plague of rats competing for cheese: their problem wasn’t his problem and therefore he shouldn’t concern himself with it; he had a moral obligation to tend to persons in distress; his interfering in people’s problems often had the reverse effect, so maybe he was better off tending to his own needs; running into the sewers before a pair of mortals was likely shady, but then again, he didn’t really care...

“Excusez moi, pardon me, mi scusi, coming through… Official Myk business.”

Once again, the Parisian twang on his purring voice converted the pronunciation of his own name to sound more like meek than M-ih-k, which was just as well that he didn’t quite identify himself as he approached in a hurry. He passed the male first, positioning himself within kicking range of the young woman, before bending down to reach the sewer entrance. With one arm, the white-haired Vampire lifted the heavy lid of the sewer drain up and pushed it onto the surface, revealing a tunnel down into an abyss. The unmistakable perfume of sewage rose like a burp, burning his cool cheeks. Myk’s nose crinkled again and he did his best not to gag before he slipped his long body into the darkness. This time, when he landed, the rubber of his boots impacted with a solid splash as ankle-deep grey water dispersed around him.

“Gross,” the Telepath grumbled. “Right, now. Which way was it again? Hmm… Ah. Yes. That way.”

She certainly didn't seem to take the situation too seriously either, well that was promising at least. Perhaps she was more concerned about having to hurt the dog in self defense? Or she was one of those people who only seemed to get fear in the moments of actual trouble. Or as a third option, she just wasn't the type to show it. She commented on places to hide or get over. Which was troublesome. He looked around thoughtfully, there was only so many.

However in that process, a long white haired individual, of pale complexion, excusing himself as he rushed past them and dipped into the sewers. Segreti cocked his head, scrunching his nose at it. There were so many scenarios where going after them was bad, but, there could potentially be others as well trying to take others. And he was vaguely curious about the individual, after all, what screamed vampire more than what basically looked like a white goth with a weird personality and habits. Aside, perhaps, actual fangs and powers.

He glanced at the woman, "Well we can either try and help you over a fence or onto a ladder, if we find one. Or we can jump down there. Up to you." he glanced quickly to see if there dogs were close behind.

Lucy had been so focused on the dogs behind her and the man which had appeared in front, she only noticed the white haired man when he came past them, excusing himself as he did so. “What the?” she muttered. She thought she had seen enough weird things before, but apparently Harper Rock was even higher on the scale of weirdness than anywhere else she’d been before.

Two possibilities remained. Actually many more, but two reasonable ones. Though she was not sure whether the idea of jumping down into the sewers was reasonable at all. But as the other man also pointed out, those were the options. A glance back revealed that there were more than one dog now, although the others were further away. Whether they were also following her, or chasing the dog which was, she wasn’t sure.

“Down we go then.” she said, partially to herself and partially to the other man still up here with her. If there was one thing she hated, it was being underground. On the other hand, the white haired guy walking past them was so strange that her curiosity outweighed the negative side.

Dropping down into the sewers, she landed with a splash of water before taking a step aside to make sure the other man wouldn’t land on top of her if he followed. Why am I doing this again? The smell was even worse now that she was down here. “Didn’t think I’d do this much exploring today.”
