Changeling 2: Attack in disguise of another. Version 2 automatically prevents your ID being discovered while stealing or passing cams.

I think there might be a bug with this power... Without going into too much of the boring plot details that led up to this moment, Hamlet used the Changeling power
only to attack both Chance and Adelais (our test and control group). We tested with Adelais on retaliation mode and off, but couldn't get it to show up that Hamlet was the one doing it, yet it did for Chance. Bug or simple explanation? Either I am good with, just any help or light to why this might of happened would be wonderful!

No real knowledge on this power myself but from the screens linked there did my retaliation break the changeling form? The description states 'prevents your ID being discovered while stealing or passing cams' which leaves the attacks and retaliation in a possible grey area?
From the screens linked I don't see Adelais attempting the retaliation that Chance performed as the only difference from what you linked and I could see on my log.

I noticed this too! And she had it set to retaliation, nothing to interfere with it.
My other issue with this whole sequence is it shows Hamlet attacking Chance separately from the Changeling power, which I didn't do. I just did the Changeling power the once.

did some testing today (both targets set to retaliate);
Bugmod:
Target one (Coven)
'0h 0m ago: You used your Changeling power to transform into Suzette
You fire wildly at Coven, but your aim is poor. You do, however, hit them once in the leg, tripping them up
0h 0m ago: You used your Changeling power to transform into Quartermaine
You fire a few rounds at Coven, and one of the bullets hits them in the shoulder with a thud, knocking them back.
.'
"0h 15m ago: You were skirmish attacked and wounded by Suzette!"
0h 1m ago: You were skirmish attacked and wounded by Quartermaine!
09.14.19 You were skirmish attacked and wounded by Suzette!
09.14.19 You were skirmish attacked and wounded by Quartermaine!
Target two (Sami)
"0h 0m ago: You used your Changeling power to transform into Cobb
You lay in wait for Sami, and as they come close, you step out into the open and shoot them in the stomach
Sami automatically attacked in retaliation, but missed!"
0h 0m ago: You used your Changeling power to transform into Mooncalf
You lay in wait for Sami, and as they come close, you step out into the open and shoot them in the back
Your weapon quality has decreased! Sami automatically attacked in retaliation, but missed!
0h 3m ago: You were skirmish attacked and wounded by Cobb!
0h 3m ago: You attacked an enemy (BugMod), but missed them!
0h 0m ago: You were skirmish attacked and wounded by Mooncalf!
0h 0m ago: You attacked an enemy (BugMod), but missed them!
09.14.19 You attacked an enemy (BugMod), but missed them!
09.14.19 You were skirmish attacked and wounded by Cobb!
09.14.19 You attacked an enemy (BugMod), but missed them!
09.14.19 You were skirmish attacked and wounded by Mooncalf!
more later

Okay, so it looks like the issue is that when using changeling - if a person is set to retal, they hit the person who used changeling, which reveals that the power was used and who used it. Is that right?
If that's the case then I'm unsure about this.
On the one hand, retaliation effectively nukes the Changeling ability, because a person just needs to be on retal to know who attacked them.
On the other hand, there aren't a lot of clean fixes.
Like we obviously can't stop retaliation against people with the changeling ability, because that would be too OP.
We could possibly make it so that retaliation hits the person whose face was borrowed, but if I'm remembering correctly - that would be very complicated. And I think it would probably be exploitable. Like you could get a whole group of people to wear the same person's face and attack each other to amass damage/crit/potentially kill the person whose face got borrowed.
I think the best fix would probably be to make it so that people with changeling always turn up a particular message when they're hit with retal like "You hit someone in retaliation, but couldn't determine who!"
Only issue with that, is that it tips off the person who was attacked that someone with changeling hit them. Though that would mean the victim of the attack would need to narrow it down.
This is probably a David thing - because he's usually a lot better with solutions for these kinds of things than me.
On the plus side - you can choose to RP it how you like in the meantime. I. E. If the victim of the attack feels that it wouldn't be canon knowledge that it was Hamlet who attacked them (rather than Pi), then they don't have to write it that way.

I like your solution to the retail issue
but the main issue posted about was actually that
Hamlet ONLY attacked using changling
however
the alert logs of his target show Hamlet attacking twice, once as PI/changling and a second time as themself.
that was what I was testing to try to replicate and failed at

09.10.19 You managed to escape from Hamlet`s attack.
09.10.19 You attacked an enemy (Hamlet), but missed them!
09.10.19 You were skirmish attacked and wounded by Pi dArtois!
from Chance's alerts (Hamlet's target)

Did it allow for a second attack? I'm not sure that's the case.

there is another bug thread for second attacks being allowed when they shouldn't be.
But
Hamlet's player is postive that they only attacked the one time, using changling as Pi. So this particular issue appears to be a bogus alert popping up where it shouldn't have.
However, none of the testing done by Hamlet's player not myself have been able to duplicate the issue. (a secondary alert being shown, neither with or without retaliation happening.)
