[for_peace][/for_peace]Antonio walked down the streets headed towards his shop Segreti Services, he wore what he often did, a black retro suit coat, black suit pants, and black shoes, with a grey button up shirt whose collar was visible underneath the coat. It wasn't dull exactly, the silver buttons helped that a little. But it wasn't exactly flashy either, especially given how incredibly charismatic the man could be.
But this time it wasn't him shouting on a stage acting, or making jokes with coworkers, that was filling the air. It was human angrily barking about "blood sucking vermin" that "invaded homes and fed on the innocent." Naturally, Segreti knew exactly what they were talking about. Vampires. He knew very well they existed, it was a big part of why he was even here in Harper Rock in the first place. Curiosity of the supernatural. And the reason he discovered he could become a sorcerer, an interesting adventure that was too.
The businessman strolled down the street, hearing the shouting coming from inside a warehouse. He entered, and immediately it was even more clear what this was. No discussion. Just a bunch of angry, or scared, people concerned about vampires. The shouting was considerable. And Segreti realized that if he let this go on, not only was it possible someone could get hurt, but it would worsen the relations with vampires which would make his study of them even harder then it already was.
He shoved his way through and got up on stage where he was met with at first invitation to speak against vampires, until that is, he actually spoke, "So you're afraid of vampires. Understandable." his strong voice boomed through the warehouse, "But, what makes them any different from Paladins, Sorcerers, Blood thieves. Why aren't you concerned about those? Or these Sirens we've heard of? What about them?" the others on stage started trying to hurry him off and he did, but he immediately leapt straight up into the air all the way into the rafters. The conveniences of being a sorcerer.
That leap caught everyones attention and at first he saw some people getting ready to attack,"Not to worry, I'm no vampire, we can step outside if you like. Maybe you'd like me to cut open a hand to spill blood. And I'll do it too, just to prove it. I am however, a sorcerer, a businessman, and have considerable interest in the supernatural." Segreti grabbed a rope tying ends off and moving so that he sat down over the stage on it like a kind of hammock, "The name's Antonio Segreti, if anyone cares, and I may not be local to your Harper Rock but I've been here long enough to see that vampires are only as much of a threat as anything else. You have zombies roaming your streets so bad there's a task force for them, but you're not out there helping them are you? No, you're in here, complaining about a threat that's only barely a threat in the first place. Vampires. You're scared because they fit in with you, because they mostly look like you, but aren't."
Mumbling began to occur and Segreti continued, "But aren't they? I can leap over a building can't I? Heal your wounds, Gain energy from anima, and anima from energy, I can even hurt someone with a ritual without every being near them. And you know what? I've not killed a single person, heck I'd say a good few of you are more skilled in combat then I am. Because I'm so busy running my businesses that I don't even pick up a weapon most of the time except for a play, or decoration purposes. Vampires aren't so unlike you, they can feed on humans yeah. But they can feed on rabbits to, or pigs, or other animals. That's not any different from us. It's just that they can only eat blood." he held his arms out expectantly.
"Paladins are arguably much more dangerous, or blood thieves. A blood thief can take a vampires powers, and yet he can live among us and looks exactly the same. But to get his powers, he has to feed on another person. Someone who can think and speak, and reason. Vampires don't have to do that. I certainly don't. Are you sure it's vampires you're afraid of, or just the unknown. Perhaps we should hear one out? Find one who is truly gentle and not unlike any of us. One who can speak for those who don't kill or feed off humans. Don't you think?"
