catches sight of his Childer and diverts towards her, hopping up on the crumbling sidewalk of the quarantine zone and ignoring the cracks that tried to grab at his shoes.

"Vi."

stares at Jazir with intent purple eyes that were far more bloodshot and unfocused than they should have been, fangs bared and fingers curled into fists as she followed every step he took, her lithe, starved form staggering as she watched him move closer to her. When he got close enough, she lunged, latching on to him and tearing into skin, dragging blood into her until she was shoved off again and a feral snarled cry escaped her lips.

is rather surprised by the way Vi stalked him but as soon as he recognized the crazed hunger in her eyes he immediately went with it, only taking a few fleeting steps back before she crashed into him and then his arms wrapped around her in a hug. His fingers locking tight around his own wrist, pain searing through his neck and shoulder as she savaged it. He endured though because he had been the one to encourage her down this path and he'd been at the point she was at multiple times.

was expecting to be shoved away, has been shoved away and fought after attacking different vampires, hates being hurt for needing basic sustenance. She didn't expect to find herself caught up in a hug and held and she flinched, growling before she realized he wasn't going to hurt her, and then hesitantly, resumed feeding, enjoying the taste of blood far too much, her thoughts slowly starting to unwind from the chaotic spiral they had been swirling through for the past few months. She pulled back when she was full, coughing and tugging out of his embrace and crawling back, staring at him with wide eyes, defensive as she waited for the inevitable retaliation, eyes wide and blood spilled over her.

felt coherency slowly ease through her thoughts and place them bit by bit back into an orderly fashion until the ravenous spark in her eyes faded and her hands stopped shaking from adrenaline.

"Jazir?"

It was a familiar feeling, the unstable weakness he felt suffusing every limb when she finally pushed out of his arms. It had him moving to sit right there on the sidewalk, the moonlight turning the gruesome shadow of blood staining the side walk into just unidentifiable darkness. He stared at her, watching the animalistic defensiveness and confusion until it started to clear and then reaching up to clap a hand to the tears she'd caused to help them heal faster.

"I'm...I'm sorry...I don't know what I was doing..."

"It's not your fault. Do you feel better now?"

She wrapped her arms around her legs, staring at him avidly, sucking in a soft breath and mulling over the fact that she didn't remember most of the past few months. She glanced up at him and frowned. "I mean...I'm more full than I've been in...a long time...I just..."

"Talk to me, I'm not getting up any time soon and no one else is around."

"...I've been trying to get to the Fade..."

"...And...I thought...attacking people until someone finally killed me would...get me there but everyone's been kind and patient and..."

made a face at hearing that. He shook his head at her and then drew his own legs up to sit cross-legged.

"The Fade will hurt you."

"...Ash is in the Fade."

"We can work to get him back from this side. There are ways. I aught to know, I got Mathias back."

"...What if he doesn't want to come back?"

It's like demons followed me out and are there when I sleep, when I'm just waking. When I'm not paying attention enough."

"You can always send him your thoughts. They will always be something he can hear. Talk to him every day. It will help. If there's a chance of him finding a way out then it will be by following your voice. As for a fadewalker, I can look into it. I know a lot of people."

But I'm not letting anyone else besides me lay a hand on him and guide him back to the land of the living. Not when it's my fault he's there in the first place."

"It's not your fault." The words came out of him with complete confidence and immediate frustration. His gaze still steady on hers as she listed out her reasons for what she wanted. "That's my first condition for even ******* considering for a second to say yes to your request..."

"That you put the thought that it's your fault out of your mind."

"And you'd need to talk to me every day you're there. To tell me you're okay and that you're searching for a way out and just to ground yourself."

She stared at him, was very ready to argue but let out a soft breath and her shoulders slumped. "...Fine."

"Take the time to prepare yourself too...the Fade will show you ever ghost you've ever seen. I'm not talking just people you once knew. I'm talking unfinished business. It changes every couple of hours. Everything around you will no longer be solid, it will be an endless maze of hallow places you've been before that are empty and only hold the echos of shattered memories you can't quite reach."

"I kept my self sane by reaching into the computer system. I was able to reach it from there. I was able to follow the byways and send emails to people and I could reach out to minds I once knew and send them my thoughts and then read their responses."

"The most important thing is don't be surprised if he's not how you remember him."
