It's been happening to everyone, it got David, too, when he was sitting in there.

Does anyone know if this happens only to certain people? Lurkers? People who switch character rather than fully log out (or the other way around)? I'd be interested to know what triggers this, because I'm at a bit of a loss.

From what I noticed, its happening when people 'switch' rather than log out.
When it happened to me, I switched over.

It’s happened to me mostly when I switch over from one account to another, but never to me when I lurk. There usually are lurkers in the chat when it happens. It blocks out the mod accounts from being able to kick the spammy account out, too.

The time it happened to me I was switching accounts and I had been active in the chat at the time.

Well mine is saying chosen nickname is not allowed. I logged off my computer and got on my phone

You hadn't timed out yet when you tried to get back in. If you don't quit (the world/lighting icon), then you linger until the chat boots you. So it ties up the name until that occurs.

But I had quit, and logged out. Which is the confusion. Chat is being its normal buggy self.
