Welcoming the new batch (+ ads progress update)

So, firstly thank you to the two people who have purchased featured sire slots so far, and have in doing so contributed funds directly to advertising the game and app. We've received around 60 new people as a direct result of these ads, in the space of just 2 days.
Around 12 of these people appear to have begun levelling up at a decent rate, and 4 of them have posted to the forum. This seems to be a good system which is achieving what we set out to do, and I'm hoping this will have a snowball effect on the app in particular.
What we need from you guys is to be in chat as often as possible in order to welcome the newbies. If you ever wished Path had a ton of new blood coming in, this is your chance to do something to help. And if you see your character has sired somebody new, please try to reach out to them and show them the ropes.

David, this whole featured sire thing is epic. Two days and my siring slots were full and so had to the ritual for more slots, another popped up. I've reached out to all of them and just waiting on replies.
The fun part is if they all stick around, explaining why Kira suddenly got childer making happy LOL

As a featured sire you won't have monthly siring limits during the duration you've chosen.

I'm loving the whole new player think the only problem I have. when you sire a whole bunch of duds you can't sire or any of the new people that actually want to play. Like I end up signing a person named "boobs". Even if they do play I kinda don't want them unless they change the name at least. But it doesn't seem like they're going to play.

I do have to agree that so far all three of my vamps have sired but none of them so far have answered my reaching out to them.

I'd say that the ones with silly names are the ones less likely to stay around and have the patience for it.
Yeah, the number of people not sticking around is a problem, but to be expected due to how complex and niche the game is. I'm trying to cater advertising to people who are more likely to stick it out, but there's still only going to be like 1 in 50 people who continue to play.

Maybe try catering more toward a writerly crowd than a gaming one? if it's the complexity of the game that's putting people off, especially if they're not that into writing, it might be beneficial to try get writers who might be tempted by the activity on the forum? Because we have been quite active in the writing department.
Could we not open up an advertising forum for guests? There are so many other places we could advertise if they were able to reciprocate on our forum.
Maybe even tumblr?

I've been hitting up tumblr on my account. /notsorry
I know with more forum focused roleplays, they do have a lot of the advertising forums like Chloe mentioned. It's usually how a lot of buzz can be started.

Trying both. Comparing results. There's no ad funds being used at the moment though.

Yeah we probably should.
Maybe even tumblr?
Yeah it's been talked about.
