"Ms. Weiss?" A tall and leggy brunette spoke from the open door. Calculating green eyes lifted from the computer to said leggy brunette with a silent 'yes?' that spoke of her annoyance of being disturbed while working. The brunette coward a little before continuing, "There's a call for you on line one." Anne's head tilted as if to ask if that was the entire reason she had been interrupted. The brunette turned tail and scurried out of the glass office that was a good 20 stories up.
With an annoyed sound of a sigh, Anne lifted the phone. "Weiss Associates." She spoke with clarity and the confidence that came with being the CEO of the leading corporate organizational firm of Germany. A sinful smile came to her face as the person on the other line spoke. At first she thought it was an associate of Chancellor Merkel, but as the person continued she soon realized that this was a new can of worms to open.
They spoke in some detail as to what was needed, price and all the business that came with her firm. What was needed first, was a plane ticket to a city that she had no idea about until she did a google search. And what she started to read made things so interesting that she would have said yes for free - if she was the kind of woman that did anything for free - she wasn't that kind of woman though.
No, this job was going to be a hefty fee. One that, if what the person on the other side of the line was being factual about, she would be entering a new tax bracket after the job was done. If she paid taxes that was.
Two days later she was sitting in the VIP lounge sipping a Chardonnay while waiting for her plane to start boarding. A rather butch male had just finished with a well needed back massage and now she picked up het tablet and started to glance over the newspapers that had been published about the small town of Harper Rock. She was a woman that did her homework before she even set foot in front of a possible client. Anne had a host of pions at her beck and call, all with their own connections. As she read the latest news "The Anti-Zombie Task Force: More Than a Rumor?" she heard her flight was starting to board. She stood and made her way to the gate.
Eight hours later, she found a male holding a sign with her name on it. Her own private driver. He was to take her around the city, but first, he took her and her many bags to her hotel. She was assured that it was the best of the best, that she could set up shop there as well and that she was to be treated like the VIP she was. The driver had tried to talk to her, tried to warn her. She shut him down both times. Anne could care less about the 'danger' she thrived on danger.
By day two in the city she could see that she was going to be on her toes, but she loved the thrill of the city. She also loved how easy it was for her to score weed or meth or any other drug, especially her new drug of choice. Vampire blood. Who knew? That one vampires weren't just myth, but that their blood could give her power unlike anything else. She wanted more. But first, she had a job to do. A meeting to happen. A company to add her personal skills to.
