Is it a good idea to introduce a CS style format for NPCs?

NPC 'Character Sheets' on Grid

Post by Myk »

So, you know how you come across a PC on grid and you click on their name to see their CS?

I'm proposing a similar opportunity for NPCs.

See a Mountain Lion on the grid, you click its name and a CS template opens.

At first, the template just gives you the very basics of information.

Name: Mountain Lion
Fae name: xyl uex
Type: Animal
Environment: Wilderness, Hunting Grounds
Basic Description: The Mountain Lion is an ambush predator and pursues a wide variety of prey. Primary food sources are ungulates, particularly deer, but also livestock. It also hunts species as small as insects and rodents. This cat prefers habitats with dense underbrush and rocky areas for stalking, but can also live in open areas. The cougar is territorial and survives at low population densities.

But the more experience you have with fighting these creatures, the more information the CS can give you, maybe its stats like we see on the PC character sheets.

Level: 6
EXP: 35
Strength: X
Dexterity: X
Intelligence: X

ETC...

So what we are basically doing here is merging the Wiki with the game. This would be an incredible opportunity for when Path goes into an App and we start bringing in more players.

The easier it is for people to get the information they want, the better for the game.

David and I have actually been talking about doing something similar to this! It won't be implemented any time terribly soon, but we were talking about meshing more of the RP side of things with the grid side of things by including things like a mini-bio for NPCs (which should make them easier to integrate into writing etc).

So great idea. <3
