The Northern Lights [Open]

The hotel was coming along nicely.
Located in the north eastern part of Harper Rock, Valdimar’s Northern Lights catered to the thrill seekers, those wanting something a little different. Though the city’s life-long occupants seemed to be picking up and leaving due to the zombie outbreak, the city by no means became a ghost town. In fact, the world was filled with those fascinated by the supernatural, those excited to find out that zombies were a real thing, that vampires were a real thing. That there could be more beneath the surface, and that the supernatural creatures didn’t stop at those more dead than alive.
Ghost hunters travelled from far and wide to see this famed city; relic hunters, goths, men and women seeking the elixir to eternal life. Something could be said about modern society, at least – fear was no longer a prominent and driving emotion. Fear did not keep people away. Instead, it drew them closer, their perhaps naïve belief that nothing bad could happen to them keeping them safe in their own little bubbles.
The Northern Lights was expensive enough to keep out most of the crazy people, catering instead to the elite. The bottom ten floors of the hotel had been stripped out and renovated. Artists were hired to sculpt the ice; the technology was installed to keep the ice solid and frozen even through the summer months. The top five floors were ordinary rooms. If by ‘ordinary’ one meant lush, with clean modern design and floor to ceiling glass windows with views of the city and the river that ran through it, or, on the other side, of the wilderness stretched out to the horizon. The top floor was all one room – the penthouse suite.
The first bookings had been made and Valdimar, not wanting to crowd the new employees with his presence, lurked. He circled the lobby before wandering outside for some fresh air. He’d go for a lap around the block before returning to the hotel. With his hands pushed into his pockets and his shoulders squared, he struck quite a figure as he took to the footpath.
Around the next corner and he was passed by a vaguely familiar face; a woman, late twenties. She, too, had a model-esque look about her, though she was one of those who didn’t know it. She wouldn’t know that she was magazine material; that if she started up her own youtube channel or created a social media presence, she could be famous. A frown creased her brow as she glanced up at Valdimar, though Valdimar thought nothing of it. And then she turned, she followed after Valdimar.
“You!” she called, breathless. She kept her distance as he stopped, brow arched.
“I remember you! You…” she coughed, bundled up in jacket and scarf. Her nose was red and her voice clogged. She had a cold.
“You… at the club! You fed from me!” she exclaimed. Furious.
Valdimar, at first, could not remember. But then it dawned on him. Yes, he’d fed from her, and had left her dazed in a booth. Not alone – he’d told one of her friends that she’d drunk too much, that she better be taken home. He hadn’t killed her. But… how did she remember?! He supposed it did not matter. Valdimar shrugged.
“You’re fine,” he said, as if that would make all the difference. The woman glowered.
“You could have asked. You didn’t even ask. I felt violated. Do you get that?! You ******* men thinking you’re entitled to do whatever you damned well please…” she said. She was flustered, but she wasn’t scared anymore. Her anger fuelled her. And now, there were witnesses. There were others taking night-time strolls, and they’d stopped to watch the altercation, to whisper to their friends, to wonder at the outcome.
Valdimar’s lips pressed into a thin line. How many others had he fed from that now remembered his face…?

Dawn sat on a bench just enjoying the night, listening to the nature around her. And not just nature, but people, cars... the occasional sound of gunfire or the groan of a zombie. On her lap, she held her notepad and a pen, writing things down. Anything, everything inspiring. Her long white hair blended into her pure white faux-mink coat, her pale skin playing into her vampire persona. This was one of those days when she was fairly lucid and not in the mood to kill at the drop of a hat, but she did still carry her guns under her coat. Some people (soldiers mostly) liked to mistake her for the walking dead.
She had just begun to scribble something down when a voice caught her attention. A woman, calling out a guy for taking advantage of her. She lifted her head, glanced around until she saw the woman and the man she was clearly accusing. Others were watching as well. This would not do.
She stood, holding both pen and pad in her left hand she moved over to the girl and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, "Is everything alright?" She glanced between the male and the female, shifting just slightly to place herself in a protective manner between the woman and the guy. If the guy wasn't Kindred like her, then he knew some good doctors, but she still chose to protect the girl in that moment. She despises the idea that someone would dislike vampires, but some vampires made it hard for her to protect them. Then, some humans, they asked for it.
"I do ask one thing though," she said to the woman, "please bring the volumn down a little. Attention like this, it will bite us all in the ***." she then turned her icy blue eyes on the male once more, taking in his attire as well as his demeanor about what was going down. Would he attack? Would he blow them off? Would he blow them away? She didn't know, but so far, the one in the most amount of trouble was the girl she turned her gaze back on, shifting a little more to protect her.

Adan had heard about the new hotel. since he pretty much had been in every single hotel that the city had to offer and basically just went from hotel to hotel. It was going to be interesting to try a new hotel. He had already got his new fake ID made. They would need for the room and his black credit card. He loved his special black credit card and his special account.
He decided he would drive up there on his bike and give this new remodeled hotel a look and then probably stay a week like normal and see how he liked it. Going down to the lobby smiling at the receptionist as he checked out of the hotel. "Hope to see you again soon Mr. Brunswick." nods with a soft smile as he makes his way out into the parking garage. Hops on his bike puts on his helmet and lets his baby roar.
Slowly drifting out of the garage into the street and letting his bike just take him on his journey.making his way to The Northern Lights.Which was weird him one of those people that wanted to stay in the best of the best hotels. He has stayed in every single hotel even though ones that most people would refuse to sleep on the bed. In this entire city and each of them more than once.
So he was going to see what the new one was like. Moving to the soft city streets gliding around on his bike until he had finally made it towards the hotel. The bike slowly glide by the hotel giving it a nice look over the building how it had changed since it had been remodeled. It looked like they had done a nice job on the outside. Passing the hotel giving it another look over and parking a bit down the street. Deciding he would walk in and give it a gander Then decided if he was going to stay tonight or another night. He never picked his hotels by going to a good one a bad one oranything anyone could quantify. He just did it by how we felt it was relatively random. He had been to this one yet so he had to get his feel was the night if he was staying or was he going to be another night.
he parked his bike on the side of the road. Making sure he was nowhere near one of the no parking sign. Got off and slowly began to walk up the sidewalk when he heard the commotion going on between two people and that he saw as the third person seem to join in.
One of the greatest things about being 7 foot tall is that when you bump into someone they generally seriously thought about saying nothing. Because who wanted to mess with the dude that big especially one that was built like a brick house.Aiden had become extremely huge he was still home with the right amount of muscle mass or his size.
He could tell by the expression on the one woman's face that she was being irate yelling at the man. He didn't really care what she was yelling at him about. He decided it would be fun just to walk dead into her hitting her with his left shoulder so that she could yell at him as he didn't really give a crap.
Aden smiled to himself this was going to be fun.as he got closer he noticed the woman that had put herself in between the two mean that he wasn't a part of the argument and he was just a person walking down the street this was going to be perfect. As he softly washed actor than he took a step in acting like he was on his his phone and not paying attention when he purposely stepped into her heart with a decent amount of force to knock the woman in the air and off our feet about 3 to 4 feet back landing on her butt or her back. All depending on how coordinated she was.

It hadn’t been Valdimar’s intention to violate anyone, but he was mature enough to understand that intentions didn’t always translate. That he lacked intention did not mean that the woman could not feel violated. And it was her right to call him out on it. He stood and took the barrage of raging rhetoric because he felt ashamed; and he was brave enough to face that shame. He would wait for the woman to get what she needed off her chest, before… what could he say?
A second woman joined the fray, her fingers squeezing the other’s shoulder in silent solidarity. In this scenario, Valdimar was the bad guy. He was the one who posed a threat. And he almost wanted to make himself look smaller, to drop to his knees like one might in front of a scared animal to show that there is no threat. That would only look strange, however, and he managed only to bow his head.
The second woman had hair that was almost white; she’d suit the hotel, Valdimar thought, but it was a small thought that lived somewhere in the back of his mind, not appropriate for the current scene. His hands were shoved neatly into his pockets, and he made no move toward either woman. His lips parted to utter the apology he was not sure would be accepted, when his vision was obscured by a mass of body passing between him and the two women. There was a gasp from one of the onlookers, and then a thud, and a hiss – a yelp from the woman who’d been doing all the shouting. The body passed, and Valdimar could see the woman on the street, face twisted in pain, rolled to her side though she could not get up. She’d slipped off the curb and had landed heavily on asphalt.
Valdimar’s previously passive features twisted into a frown, before his bright eyes turned to the hulking mass of uncoordinated idiot.
”Hey, maybe you should watch where you’re going,” he said, voice calm though his shoulders were squared, his hands now free from his pockets. He saw the phone in the guy’s hands and he shook his head. ”… helvítis tækni,“ he muttered. He did not stoop to help the woman to her feet, hoping that the white-haired helper would do so instead. He was not sure how close she would allow him, and this scene was chaotic enough already.

Dawn felt the moment that the other woman was knocked down. Not just down, it had almost been like she was thrown. One moment Dawn's hand was resting gently on the girl's shoulder, the next the girl was ripped from her grasp as a hulking male the size of her father's crab boat, barreled into her. Dawn followed the girl and moved to her side, she barely registered the male the girl had been yelling at was now yelling at the incredibly stupid hulk.
The girl's face was twisted in pain, Dawn once more placed her hand on the girl in a gentle touch. "Shhh, just stay still for a moment." she said to the girl, wanting to wait until the girl could move on her own. She moved slightly to protect her from any car that might come barreling at the woman laying in writhing pain on the street. Thankfully, it was a fairly quiet night and the girl had fallen close to the curb. She continued to gently try to sooth the woman while her eyes lifted first to the male the woman had been yelling at, then to the asshole that knocked her down in the first place.
It was only then that Dawn picked up a hint of what the first guy had said. Of course, it helped that Norwegian was similar to what the male spoke. She glanced between the two men then back to the girl, she had stopped writhing and appeared to be trying to get up. Dawn offered the young woman a helpful arm on which to brace herself while she tried to stand. She didn't want to rush the woman or touch her in any area that may be injured. "Are you alright?" she asked softly and then returned her gaze to the first male. "That ******* asshole." she stated, referring to the jackass with the cellphone.

Aden his eyes, flashed for a second as he looked deep into the man's eyes. "Veikur einn, ég mun tímabundið hreinsa upp óreiðu þína í dag"
His plan had worked exactly as he had intended situation had completely turned now the crowd would pay attention to him. No longer would anyone remember what she had said before he bumped into her. Everything now would be set on what he does afterward and her reaction. People would only remember the big guy bumping into her and the other woman coming to her rescue. everyone would be focused on what happened after just as he had planned out from the beginning.
He softly turned to the lady he had bumped into and her so-called rescuer. " Oh I'm sorry I probably shouldn't have been walking down the street and playing Angry Birds. The game is a little addicting. I'm willing to pay for any injuries you may have received. And take you out for nice lovely dinner and apologized for my clumsiness". His voice sounded very genuine as he softly moves forward and down on one knee with his big frame but was very gentle easy as he looked her in her eyes.
Being relatively handsome was helpful women would forgive you a lot easier than ugly man. Having well-toned muscles and being tall dark and handsome was always helpful when you needed it to be. " If you like an ambulance or would like a soft cruising ride on the motorcycle to the nearest emergency room or another facility I welcome to oblige."

The words only sparked a fire that licked at Valdimar’s core, teeth grinding to keep from snapping at the newcomer. Who the **** did he think he was? Some kind of guardian? How could he think this helped anything?!
Sure enough, as soon as he crouched down in front of the woman whom he’d pushed over—the woman who was bound to swear off men forever after this night—she cringed and flinched, wanting to crawl away from him. Just looking at her Valdimar could see the same fury in her as resided in him. Her features twisted as she tried to push herself up; she was grateful when the white-haired woman offered an arm. She clung to the other female, solidarity in numbers, and hauled herself up onto her feet. She found strength in the other woman’s touch.
“Are you ******* insane?! Pretty sure my tailbone is … broken, and you want me to sit on the back of your ******* motorcycle? What is it with you men?” she said, voice strong but cracked, glancing between the newcomer and Valdimar. “You think every single woman is just going to fall in your lap because… because you have a goddamned motorcycle?!” she said, turning her glare back to the other man.
Valdimar held up his hands and kept his distance. He knew when to be charming and he knew when to concede to his mistakes. He was aware, now, of what his bite could (or couldn’t) do. He’d amend his behaviour in the future. Maybe, find those willing to give. He shook his head at the dickhead who’d interrupted with some mislaid intention to make things better, when he’d only made things worse. Valdimar didn’t need anyone to clean up his own messes. He’d prefer to do that on his own, otherwise there’d be no lesson in it.
”I apologise for my behaviour,” he said, luring the woman’s attention to himself. His voice was deep and heavily accented.
”You’re right. I should have asked for your consent. I promise to always ask in future…” he said, not taking his eyes from her. Whether she believed him or not, he could not know. ”What is your name?” he asked.
”Valerie,” she said, still clinging to the arm of her helper.
”And yours…?” he asked, turning to the white-haired woman who’d come to help. ”Do you have a car…? I have one back at the hotel. Would you mind, awfully, helping me to escort Valerie to the nearest emergency room? I’d like to pay for the fees…” he said. No, he hadn’t pushed her over. But he was the reason she was in this situation to begin with.

Dawn couldn't believe the audacity of the prick. He thought just because he was a big biker that the injured woman would just spread her legs and melt for him. Dawn snarled slightly at the guy, shifting the woman back as she cringed away from him, using her tiny frane to protect the woman. Dawn wasn't a wilting flower, and she hated seeing other women subjected to such.
It was then that the woman actually proved beyond the pain that she had her own thorns and began to rail (verbally anyways) into the ***. Dawn smiled in triumph as she listened to what the woman said, though she was careful to hide her fangs. Her one hand gently rubbed the woman's arm in a show of comfort as the woman let the man have it.
It was then that the original target of the woman's ire called her attention to him and began to apologize for his actions. While Dawn truely believed Valerie would swear off men for the rest of her life, she could see that the other man was deeply sorry for his actions towards her. When that male turned his eyes on her, she shifted a little more to help Valerie, using her own strength to hold most of Valerie's weight. "I'm Dawn. And I have something better than a car." Then she scowled at the biker and added "and something far an away better than some little bike." Her eyes turned to Valerie, "it will take a couple minutes for it to get here, do you think you can stand a little longer?"
Before Valerie could answer, Dawn was sending a telepathic message to her thrall Dylan. 'Dylan, please bring Sunrise to me.' As the male spoke of wanting to pay for the woman's hospital bill, Dawn nodded and once more rubbed the Valerie's arm in comfort. That was when the loud rumble of a diesel engine pulled around the corner and came to a stop beside the group.
The large purple and pink bedazzled bus twinkled like stars in the light cast by the street lights. A male open the door and stepped down a few of the steps looking at Dawn. "Hey Donnie, what's going?"
Dawn first turned her eyes onto Valerie, addressing her first and foremost. "Valerie, would you mind if my buddy Dylan," she pointed to the guy on the steps, "picks you up? Climbing those steps might be hard on your tailbone. You'll be able to lay down while we drive you to the hospital." Then she looked to the first guy and added "You are welcome to join us on the bus." Then she looked to the big oof "and you are welcome to get lost."
Dylan looked between Dawn and the group, watching Valerie curiously, he wouldn't move a muscle until Valerie gave her consent to being touched. The tour bus was loud on the outside but Dawn knew that there was nothing but soft comfort on the inside. There was memory foam beds and plush chairs and couches big enough to lay down on. The windows were blacked out, but the bus was perfectly lit, not to bright not to dark with recessed LED lighting.

Was trying to keep from smiling and this went better than he had planned. He was he would not have to pay for the hospital bill the other guy was dumb enough to pay for it. He had completely turned the situation as he had planned everyone now is focused on him. everyone completely I completely forgot about what the original argument was about everything had gone perfectly. the bystanders mind would be completely wiped they wouldn't remember why the people were originally arguing all they were remember was the big guy that bumped into the lady. It was perfect.
"Vandamál leyst, nú ertu hetjan í staðinn fyrir hálfviti." As he turned and looked at the idiot who caused the problem in the first place. "Alltaf binda lausar endar."
Seeing what he had planned had come to fruition was not worried about the lady being mad at him. She could get in line. He knew she wasn't brave enough to come yelling at him in public. What had happened wasn't in a crime. So getting the police involved would be pointless. she gets in some lawyers if she wanted that wouldn't go over well.
He decided that he would slip around and go see what the hotel was like, Why not? His business here had concluded. The woman would drive off in the ridiculous bus. She would now have a new shining knight in armor. He can count this as a good deed for the day.
Occ translated: Problem solved, now you're the hero instead of idiot." "Always tie loose ends"

The night welcomed Ruth with the chill in the air and the murmur of an incorporeal crowd that filled the streets. There were more than just curious humans and vampires stealing a glance at whatever argument is taking place outside the icy hotel. Coming from the one of the most southern of states, Ruth needed to bundle up. She was freezing, but welcomed the temperature oddly enough. It was refreshing.. crisp.. it pinched her lungs. Despite her shivering, waifish form, the woman strutted like she owned this side of the street in her tennis shoes, long, thick sweater, and skinny jeans. The scowl on her lips was enough to deter some of the ghosts trying to make conversation with her.. Others didn't get the message.
"Lechi! Al hatridi ohti! Lechi!" she snarls at the ghastly specter bent on harassing her about finding his wife's corpse for repulsive reasons. "At chaziyr!" She shoos him away with a great flick of both her wrists. Most of the physical people around her shoot her a questioning, concerned, or cautious side-glance, simply because all they see is a woman hissing in some other language at something or someone that clearly isn't there. Ruth growls under her breath and sucks her teeth when the specter scowls back and declares he will curse her family. She hops onto onto foot and yanks free her sneaker, "Lechi v'nasi!" then pelts the sneaker at him, though unfortunately it goes right through him. If Aden isn't careful, she will unintentionally nail him in the head with her worn footwear.
Translation: "Go! Don't bother me! Go!" "You pig!" "Go and try!" Note: She speaks to the male specter as if he were female
