Question about map/cities/towns

Due to the recent update regarding better grid optimisation, we now have to worry less about the size of the maps database, so we're dropping the prices of most player housing by a rather large amount. This is a permanent change, which applies to both Path and Blood.
- Full lairs (purple, main world map): 75 karma (down from 150)
- Main world public buildings: 75 karma (down from 150)
- Towns: 350 karma (down from 750)
Does this imply that HR is going to be getting bigger or that there will be more surrounding areas named something else that has been made by Players near harper Rock..(for instance, tomkin, chalktown, bifrost) but made by you, or are you thinking more...cities you guys have made/created?
I ask, because I know I've asked before privately, but I'm going to ask again...would all these cities follow the current pvp guidelines? Or, rather, maybe I should ask, could they not have different pvp guidelines? I'm not a person who codes, but...I'm thinking some cities/towns are what we used to have old school and then there are areas that follow current pvp guidelines.
I honestly feel as if you would have a marketing area in some players if there were more varieties on fighting techniques/styles/allowances. I'm thinking like...cities/towns owned by player characters that follow say, Sin city...some things allowed in some areas, not so much in other areas.
If that makes sense. Idk. Just asking/thinking.

As long as there’s a warning before entering the town, I love the idea. I’ve played another game where some areas were non-Pvp and some were Pvp, and it worked fairly well.
Granted I’m not sure on the coding here, but a variety in ways to fight would be nice.

Us adding more cities depends in part on the expansion of the rift. We're considering adding a new one now that the rift has expanded, as the area in which vampires are able to return to life has also expanded.

It would have to make sense as to why these other areas have different combat rules. One thing that would make sense is making a city that's outside of the bubble in which vampires are safe, and making it a perma death region. But even that has many problems.
Other than that, I can't think why other cities would have different combat rules. It could get confusing / infuriating for some people who want to go to a different city to hunt a different type of enemy, but can't because of different combat rules.

This. I like the warning idea. I think that's fair, and people cannot say...I didn't know, or wte. Because it hits you smack dab when you enter the city.

Well, idk I think of it as different, uhhh countries maybe?
I mean for instance...(poor example, mind cause I'm anti gun irl) Us is gun heavy, where as other countries..not.
So I really don't see why some tiny tweaks cannot be justified on an ic level based off good/decent stories.

When you say 'old school' what exactly do you mean? I ask because PVP has been changed a lot over the years. Old school could refer to a time when a person with the right powers basically had limitless anima, for example.
Like what are the specific changes you want to see?

Trap limitations gone
Hitter cap lifted.
Are just some (most) that I'd like to see be gone/lifted.

My problem with this is, a group of players could buy a town, have NPC's put in with decent loot and xp that's exclusive to that town, then murder anyone they don't like in the town easily.
Take my character for example, right now I feel like he really has no allies, cause hardly anyone talks to himIC despite him reaching out.
I take him into that town to loot and level, and he's killed easily just for being there. I'd be unable to level decently and obtain loot while they run the town, dictating who can come or not. "I bought this town, i can say who can come and farm this good xp and loot or not, if I don't like you or your character don't bring them here"
Or attack people and go hide in that town where they would be untouchable because of their group/faction.

The suggestion I was going to make was to add a 'neutral' designation for buildings - basically make it so they have a permanent variation on an Eirene's Will (mainly no skirmish/attack powers).
For hunting areas, it could be required. Unspoken rule that eradicating threats is greater than interpersonal conflict, perhaps.
For other public buildings, it could be an option that could be added on to the building. Once added, it could be removed. But if removed, the same owner couldn't re-add it to the building.

Actually David determines xp of the npcs in cities and as for loot...most can be found in other places in other areas. Minus specific item names.but sword parts are in various areas, gun parts too. None have relics to my knowledge.
Kitty has an idea I'm not gonna say because it's her thing.. But I Really think the cap could lifted due to ai settings and traps aren't really going to kill unless already seriously wounded
