Back from a failure (open)

Lockland walked in with tired steps, but eyes that travelled the rooms with quick and knowing glances. He slouched down at the bar and ordered whatever was cheapest before paying up and turning to look around as he slowly began taking occasional swigs.

Lockland had just returned from attempting to take on the wendigo forest to utter failure. No matter how many times he tried each time the wendigo had come out on top and it was really irritating him. What's more, the vampires had managed to screw over his attempts to help out the regular person. He'd killed ancient zombie after ancient zombie and yet, somehow, things still went south ultimately. Still, he could tell he was stronger then he ever was before, in powers, and in sheer skill. He perhaps was no threat to any vampire who had much age behind their experience, but he could probably put down a lot of the newer ones.

He wasn't exactly an intimidating figure though, his somewhat drooped eyes probably showed how tired he was to anyone paying attention to him. He didn't really want to be intimidating either, he didn't need to be singled out as a paladin. He was pretty sure if people knew that, then vampires might attack him even if they were normally peaceful. And he only wanted to go after the dangerous vampires, just about as much as he was willing to go after gangsters.

He knew that occasionally they came here, and that was also why he was keeping his eyes open. He could down one of them with ease so it was more a matter of spotting them. What's more, he had to be sure they'd killed before or might do so. Even if he already thought most gangsters should be put in jail, he didn't want to just go around killing anyone he had a problem with.

All the while he was doing this, he kept an eye open for anything or anyone who might be interesting. A vampire who was being patient and calm, another paladin, sorcerers, or blood thieves. Or practically anyone who might throw out some interesting conversation or information.
