Ember March
She was surprised he'd caught her. "My way is more fun." She shrugs, her nails tapping a cadence on the bar's top while waiting on the tender to serve her. "Oh, I wouldn't have taken anything important. Not really important. And, if you asked I'd... probably have given it back. Maybe?" She flashes a smile.

Ember March
Ember's eyes narrow. "What do you mean you gleaned nothing from him?" Her lips quirk. "He taught you nothing about being what you are? How you access your abilities? Or, even, how to survive?" She worries her lower lip between her teeth. "It seems kind of a shitty thing to do to someone. I'm sorry. You must hold a lot of resentment toward him."
Ripper
"My relationship with him ended at the same time as his life. From then on I can not say to have dwelt upon it overly much but as a fortunate happenstance. It surely was not his intention that night to sire some progeny--but these nights went back to the first awakening any many almost all of the elders had just risen and were mad with a craze for blood after centuries. Most I'm sure can not account for their first couple weeks."
Ember March
"You bit me... if you'd taken all my blood... would I have become like you?" Her hand drifts upward, landing against her neck. She's glaring at him. He feels the weight of her gaze for several heavy moments. Again, she spins on her heel and begins to walk away... not far, of course... she's simply pacing.
Ripper
"Like me, like me? It's possible you could simply die; otherwise the embrace would work more to make you into something...like you."
Ripper
"We all start somewhere different based from our our natural affinity. What that then becomes is highly individualized as well."
Ember March
"So, some of your abilities come from your... personality. Who you were before you .... died." She'd been glancing over her shoulder, and was happy to look hastily away.
Ripper
"I'd like to think that it still remains the same person standing here even now."
Ripper
*who is
Ripper
"However for a man on the run death certainly leant a mixed blessing."
Ripper
"Not that I was even considering such things then in those times."
Ripper
(perception roll)
Ripper
You succeeded in your endeavour.
Ripper
*sniffs, losing momentary focus*
Ripper
"What about your own beginnings?" *recovers*
Ember March
"Rumors... what ifs... All those things you never think about until you do and then it's a little too late to turn back. And, here I am. That's enough, I think. My past is sketchy, my future is too. I guess I'm one hell of a ****-up, so far. Let's see if I can't do a little better!"
Ripper
"And say you were sucsessful in your goals to rise upwards in power and influence...what would that mean for you enough to know when you had accomplished them?"
Ember March
"What do you mean when I've accomplished them? Money means never having to struggle. Power means never having to beg."
Ripper
"Individual sustainablitity then."
Ember March
"I don't have anybody but me. Kitteh doesn't need me. She's got her **** on lockdown."
Ripper
"You have me." he asserted, avoiding her eye. "I don't know why that you do, but here I am though none the less."
Ripper
"Where did you learn the Lamarckian abilities?"
Ember March
She suddenly smiles, and nods quickly. "I have you, because I amuse you. I've got you figured out." A finger wags the air, and she takes a breath. "I... had a mentor. For awhile. We sort of found each other. He taught me a few things, enough to get by. I don't know where he is, but...here I am?"
Ripper
"You've have me figured out, do you?" This amuses him in turn. "Perhaps you do and this is really nothing other than a passing whim."
Ripper
**really do
Ember March
"Anything's possible?" She counters, tilting her head. "I find it odd that I amuse you when you don't think I'm very funny at all. It's certainly worth pondering, most likely with alcohol." She arches on her toes, and gives a shake of her head. "Let's walk?"
Ripper
"Fine, I will set up a gate elsewhere."
Ripper
*he crosses the rickety tavern floor towards the door, somewhat more introverted tonight in his musings*
Ember March
"You will... what?" Her features cloud, and it becomes apparent that she's realized that the buckles on her boots make a chinking sound and her exaggerated movements seem to be in an effort of making the musical little chinka-chink sound with each executed motion.
Ripper
"It's a vampire thing." he offers mildly; tilting his head a few degree askance to take in her antics.
Ember March
She suddenly pauses, her smile fading. "Ripper? Do we need to stay here, for... reasons? We don't have to... leave. Really. I won't be upset if we stay." Her gaze moves back to the altar. "I still don't understand exactly how it works, after all."
Ripper
"Right, I understand. We are free to go anywhere, I promise you. What I did here can be repeated elsewhere and will even have the additional affect of having you a future knowledge of the experience."
Ripper
"My only litigation is that we stop again for it in the next quarter of an hour."
Ripper
"I'll follow you? This area may be familiar to be but I am not the one exploring it. There are a few suprise to be discovered further south though however."
Ember March
"I only thought we might go for a walk in one of the quiet neighborhoods. Get some fresh air, look at the holiday lights? Does it have to be serious?"
Ember March
She suddenly pulls a gun. "I ******* hate zombies." She gives a grin.
Ripper
"Is it now currently?"
Ripper
"Quiet neighborhoods...right now let me think which one that would be." *puzzles*
Ripper
"Swansdale I suppose."
Ripper
*reaches out to grasp her arm before the leave the building* "One last thing!"
Ember March
"Will you sing a Christmas carol?" She laughs. "Okay, okay... one last thing?"
Ripper
"Would you take my blood again before we leave?"
Ember March
"If you want me to." She nods.
Ripper
"It would comfort me to know."
Ripper
"And it will also make getting over the fence outside easier." *he grins*
Ripper
*using his incisors he opens his wrist with a bite a tears away outward until red trickles down his arm*
Ember March
She nods her agreement. "Give it to me. I'm ready... Bring me a cherry coke?"
Ripper
"Oh, right sure. " <.< "We can do that too."
Ember March
She gave a quick shake of her head, "God damn it... Ripper..."
Ripper
*laps up at his leaking wound so as not putting any of it to waste* "The...problem...is.." he says between laps, "is that you need to drink first before we can reach the soda pop."
Ember March
She moves forward, grabbing his arm and putting her mouth over the wound. She drinks until his regenerative abilities make the task difficult. It matters little, it's enough.
Ripper
*without even a wave of effort the tear sutures away* "Still thirsty for a coke?"
Ripper
*his amusement could be malevolent if it were not so sabracious.*
Ember March
"Please." She's reaching into the pocket of her jacket for a compact. She begins touching up her makeup while she waits for him to bring her a drink.
Ripper
*for a brief shimmer the room is empty and then he is handing her a coke as if it materalized.* "Something about his jaw twitches as he hands it over to her.*
Ripper
"Anything else? Breath mints, perhaps."
Ripper
*smirk*
Ember March
Ember beams Ripper a quick smile. She gives him a quick and friendly squeeze. "You're the best!" Her face falls. "Do I need breath mints?"
Ripper
"Not from where I'm standing."
Ember March
"Are you sure it's okay if we go for a walk?"
Ripper
*opens the door for them out into the clear night* "It stopped snowing. I wonder if that old beastie still could be found though."
Ripper
"The local lore on them says they only come out in a storm; that they *are* the storm is actually more truthful.
Ripper
"
Ember March
"Which?" She gave a glance skyward. "I like the stars. They're so hard to see in the city, but in the country... the sky is full of stars. On a cold, clear night they are so close it's almost like you can reach out and touch them."
Ember March
"I suppose this means were hunting. And I only wanted to look at the Christmas lights."
Ripper
"The Tizerhuck thing. I've actually seen one before earlier this year so that answers my question."
Ripper
"Isn't this small talk? I thought we were caroling Swansdale."
Ember March
Her features brighten considerably, "You're going to sing for me!" Her nose wrinkles and she bounces on her toes, "Yes, I absolutely want to walk around Swansdale and look at Christmas lights. Oh! Can there be Cocoa?" She lightly shakes his arm, "Oh, come on, say there can."
Ember March
She opens her soda, and takes a sip, washing away the taste of old blood. She gave Ripper a glance from the corner of her eye. He might throttle her yet.
