Kaelyn
Kaelyn made her way to their new meeting spot. Apparently the one that was typically used was no longer a safe space. She hadn't really been to this cafe much, but stopped in every now and then. After making her way in, she found an empty booth, took a seat and waited for her Papi to join her.

Doc
Doc slid into the booth across from Kaelyn. He waved at the diner short order cook. He used to come here regularly when he was human. "You are looking well ..Is ... everything well?"

Kaelyn
Her head bobbed a little in a nod. "Yeah things are ok. I'm feeling a bit better after seeing you the other night. A lot better actually. I feel more confident and comfortable."

Doc
Doc nodded. "Alright, that is good." He nodded "It was good to see you too, the other night.." He leaned forward crossing his arms and resting them on the table top. "So what is up.."

Kaelyn
Kaelyn chewed on her bottom lip some. "Honestly, everything I had to say I pretty much got out the other night. Just mainly...that I'm sorry I lose my temper with you sometimes and I push back when I feel you're being too...much. I know you thin I am too young to get married. I probably am. But even so, I would like it if you would be there whenever I do get married. Will you come? And even possibly walk me down the aisle if we do the big wedding thing?"

Doc
Doc hated weddings. And he had told everyone.. no way he would go to another wedding. Except.. Here was Chub, asking.. instead of demanding. This was a big step for her. He would be a ******* asshole to say no. "I would normally say no. But this time.. I will say yes. But I am not sitting up front. I prefer the back. And I will most likely be bringing someone with me.. alright?"

Kaelyn
The blonde nodded once again. "I understand you dont want to be up front with it all. Honestly I just really want you there. I can't imagine getting married and you not being there. And a date is fine. But like I said...I don't have a clue when this will be. Could still be a couple years away."

Doc
"All the better for me.. and you." He held up his left hand.. "Eternal bond.. gone." He looked at her for amoment before saying, "Things can and do change. Just because you said yes.. doesn't mean you can't change your mind later.. and say no. I mean that Chub. If you have any doubt.. don't. Don't worry about what people will say. Don't worry about the money. And if you wait.. doesnt mean you're breaking up. Just means.. you need time. And you have plenty of time. Do not rush it."

Kaelyn
Kaelyn started nodding once again. "Yes exactly! That's what I was trying to explain to you. That, things change. I am waiting. Maybe things will change for worse or better. Just because I said yes doesn't lock me in. I'm not ever stuck. I just probably didn't go about saying it in the proper manner. While I don't stab and shoot a lot when I get upset, I still tend to run at the mouth in a not great way."

Doc
Doc grinned at her, "You and me both." He raised his eyebrows in a somewhat embarrassed but unashamed manner. "Which is not good when you are running for office." He looked at her, "Did you know that..? I am running for city council.|

Kaelyn
"I knew you were doing government stuff, but not sure what all you're doing. Do you think having a "daughter" who is married to a human would be helpful in your game at all? Not that I want to use my marriage as a political scheme...but if it makes things better for vampires..." She shrugged a bit.

Doc
"Actually I want to keep my family out of it. I do not want to drag any of you into it. The election will be above board and legal. but that doesn't mean there aren't some haters out there.. that will target anyone close to me. So.. I don't you or anyone else close to me involved. Not because I don't you can handle it. But because if someone hurt one of mine..well teh next vampire holocaust might happen.. and I would only have myself to blame."

Kaelyn
Kaelyn was once again nodded. She could understand and respect that. "Alright. Staying clear of Papi politics. I understand where you are coming from with that. Papi, would you like to spend some time with Stagger and get to know him?"

Doc
"I am not opposed to it. What about Stagger? You do realize we are fundamentally different." He looked at her. "I know you want everyone to like everyone. Care about everyone, like a big happy family." He pressed his lips together, "But not all families get along. Not all families are happy. Sometimes the best thing we can do for each other, is to respect everyone's differences."

Kaelyn
She lifted her shoulders up in a shrug. "You won't know if you'll get along or like each other til you meet and try it out. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. But at least we'll know and give it a chance, yeah? And trust me...I know not all families get along or are happy. You remember my life before you, yeah?" Kae stuck her tongue out at him.

Doc
"I have met him. I speak to him in passing. He's not overly forth coming. I understand his reticence. Is this what.. 'he' wants? Or.. is it more .. what you want him to want?" He eyed her. He understood. But forcing the two of them together wasn't something that was guaranteed success. "IF we did meet. What would we talk about? Before we have this great meet up.. you need to have some common ground for us.. right"

Kaelyn
"I don't know. I haven't really brought it up to him yet. I am your common ground? You both love me." Kaelyn raised a brow and then smiled. She didnt know how to answer all that, honestly.

Doc
"Chub" He gave her a 'really' look, "We arent going to talk hair and fashion. He will say 'I like her', I will say, 'I like you'. Then there will be silence. Two minutes tops. And then there will be a **** load of .. awkwardness."

Kaelyn
"He likes guns and shooting things. Like a lot."

Doc
Doc looked at her, narrowed his eyes and nodded slowly. "So maybe.. we meet at a shooting range.."

Kaelyn
"That could be fun!" Her head tipped to the side. "He likes whiskey too!"

Doc
Doc's eyebrow perked. "He does? What's his favorite?"

Kaelyn
thought for a moment "I think it's called something like Tennessee Lightning or White Lightning or something like that. And he likes cars. His car is his baby. I get in trouble when I put my feet on the dash"

Doc
Doc winced. "White Lightning?! Oh good god.. that will rot your insides. It is clear.. he need some whiskey education. Listen I will get you a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue.. Its smooth. But the tannens give it a nice after taste. " and then she said, she put her feet on the dash. "What the **** Chub? Are you 12? You do not put your feet on the dash! That's uncouth and common." He glared at her. "Promise me you do not do that."

Kaelyn
Kaelyn giggled a little "Well, I dont anymore. I learned my lesson and as for the whiskey stuff I can't taste the alcohol so I don't know what stuff is good and what isn't. I just order drinks that i hear other people order." She totally had put her feet up on the dash numerous times, however had been put in her place for that. "What other things do you like? I will find something fun for you to do. Whiskey tasting and shootin...maybe shooting before drinking."

Doc
"Well.. Movies. Drinking. Shooting. Killing.. but doubt that is something we should bond over."

Kaelyn
Kae tipped her head to the side, confused. "But why? He likes those things...especially the drinking, shooting and killing."

Doc
"Killing is a very personal thing. I will not discuss that.. with just anyone.." He stopped. He didn't discuss it with anyone really. "We need to by pass that one."\
