Thanksgiving Really ?

Post by Storyteller »

Doc
Doc was helping himself to the good stuff behind counter. Mortll only had herself to blame. The bartender was no where to be found. So it was .. as he justified to himself.. a self serve bar. He poured a generous helping the Johnny Walker blue label, and sipped it, from his position bahind the bar. Apparently he was the bartender for the night.

Elizabeth
Elizabeth walked in and looked around, then immediately went to the basement. In her hands was a tray full of...biscuits of some description. While Amalea might be the only one able to eat, there was no way that there wasn't going to be something to eat. As she headed over to the bar, Elizabeth set the plate of peanut butter flavored acorn shaped cookies on the bar and smiled to Charles. "You are here early." She commented, blue eyes approving of what might be a gesture on his end of some description.

Elizabeth

Doc
Doc shrugged, "Well Better early than not at all.. " He had signed his Spawn up for a pit match, and when he had to leave, she had just lost. He helped heal her and then headed here. He made sure to mention where he was going .. in case Minx wanted her pound of flesh. He honestly thought she would have made mince meat out of her opponent. But, **** if Enver was more than a pretty face. However, this also meant Minx would be furious. At him. He finished his drink and poured himself another. "Can I get you anything Lizzie?"

Elizabeth
"Indeed. I am certain the effort will not be missed." She said in agreement, before looking at what he was drinking. "Surprise me." She said with a smile, then took a seat at the bar, glancing around it, then landing her eyes back on him. "Cookie?" She offered the plate in his direction with a wide smile.

Doc
Surprise her, she said. Doc stared at her for a long moment. Then he nodded and pulled out a bottle of American Gin. American Gin did not have the ever green tates like English gin. It tended to be infused with citrus and other spices and fruits. The under lying hint was still gin, but it was mellowed by the other ingredients. He poured her a sipping amount. He tended to drink a lot, but he knew she preferred to sip. After he slid the drink to her, to accepted a cookie.. or two. "I love cookies." He bit into one, regretting that he could not enjoy it to its fullest. After swallowing, "When I was a child.. cookies were my vice." He nodded solemnly. "I would have sold my soul for cookies."

Elizabeth
A type of alcohol Elizabeth was not familiar with was pulled from the shelf, her blue eyes on him as he poured it. "Really?" She asked, finding it hard to believe that Doc had a sweet tooth as a child. Perhaps he was being kind given she went out of her way to bake something tonight. Not that she minded, after all, she had the space and room in the bakery, or any number of apartments. "Which was your favourite?" She asked, keenly watching him, as fingers moved to the glass of clear liquid, picked it up and gave it a sip. She could taste nothing of course, but the smell was appealing at least.

Doc
"Favorite? All of them.." He grinned at her, "Chocolate chip of course.. but that was the standard.. after school snack. In winter when school was on break, a hearty oatmeal cookie with tea, after coming in from sledding all day. At news years,.. Molasses cookies.. rolled thin. Spring.. light but tastey sugar cookies.. and the heat of summer.. frozen oatmeal cookies." He paused as he got lost in the thought of cookies. They were usually supplied by the housekeeper, when he needed to be quiet to avoid his his father's wrath. What was the housekeeper's name ..?

Elizabeth
Well, who would have guessed Doc had a sweet tooth after all? She listened to him list off a name of cookie varieties, her lips twisting into a smile as she tried to imagine it. Doc as a child, eating cookies. "Thank you for the drink." Elizabeth finally said, moving off the image in her head that was probably nothing like him, the woman shaking her head. "I do hope Amalea likes cookies..." She thought about it, too little too late. Oh well.

Doc
"If she doesn't.. more for me.. " He waggled his brows at Lizzie playfully. "It was thoughtful of you to go to the trouble. Thank you. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed cookies." He gave her a look of affection. "You look lovely this evening.." He was about to change the subject when he suddenly remembered, "Helena! THAT was her name!" He looked really pleased with himself for remembering.

Amalea
had been quietly sneaking down the stairs when she heard Elizabeth's comment. "She does," the red-head laughed lightly as she crossed the floor to join the couple. "I brought some goodies for you guys," she smiled as she placed a platter of blood jellies on the counter. "Evening."

Doc
"Evening Kid!" Doc grinned at her. "What are you drinking? I am playing bartender for the moment.." He lowered his voice, "So larger portions are to be expected.." He nodded and winked at her.

Amalea
Shaking her head, Amalea slid into an open seat. "Whatever wine you can get your hands on would be fine." She snickered softly at his comment on portion sizes before turning to Liz, "Glad to see he convinced you to join us this eve."

Elizabeth
"It was hardly any trouble. I had the ingredients at the bakery." She assured him, pleased to have been able to bake. Even if it was just for tonight. Though, perhaps they could sell cookies...why not? She would ponder the thought more later, before glancing down at what she was wearing. Some dark green off the shoulder cocktail dress, but the look was short lived as Amalea entered. She liked cookies. Wonderful! "Then do have one." Elizabeth offered the plate in the woman's direction, glad she arrived, before Elizabeth drank the rest of the Gin down. Elizabeth smirked a little, then nodded. "He will make for a good politician, as if we doubted it..." She trailed off, blue eyes back on Doc as she put the empty glass down. "What was that?" She asked curiously.

Doc
Doc turned to check out the wine selection, he remembered she has chosen a rose at their dinner, so that was what he was looking for. Finding no rose, he grabbed a white. He figured of the of two options .. red and white, she would prefer white versus the red. At least he hoped so. He had to decork it and let it breathe for a moment before pouring. At Lizzie's question he smiled, and grabbed the bottle, "Jaspers Gin.. American Gin.. not English.. it has a softer bouquet, than English.. more?" He held the bottle at the ready to pour again.

Amalea
"Thanks," she smiled as she took one of the offered adorable acorn-shaped treats. Nibbling on it, she was pleasantly surprised to taste peanut butter mixed with the chocolate. While she loved chocolate chip (or chunk) cookies, peanut butter ones were a close second. She couldn't help but softly giggle at the older woman's comment that Doc would make a good politician. Of course, they'd already known that, but it was still amusing. "Practice does tend to make perfect," the red-head grinned at the pair.

Elizabeth
She watched him working behind the bar, then glanced around...where was the bar staff? Where was the owner of the establishment? It was a peculiar sight to see, Doc managing the bar, when it was not his bar...but it seemed no one minded. When she heard the word 'English,' Elizabeth's attention shifted back to Doc slowly, a smile on her lips. "Do they happen to have the English version instead?" English...England. Perhaps a conversation for later...

Doc
Doc stopped short of pouring Lizzie another American gin, "Really? You want English?" he looked at her and nodded. "Very well." Even the high dollar English Gin tasted like pine trees. But then he justified that .. if you cant taste it.. you don't know you are drinking pine trees. Switching bottles he grabbed a bottle Bombay's London Dry Gin. It didnt matter it was top of the line. Doc hated it as a human, he wasnt going to drink it as a vampire. But if Lizzie wanted English.. that was as good as it got, apart from Beefeaters.. and he didnt see a bottle of that in the bar. Pouring a healthy amount he slid it over to her and winnked, "Enjoy."

Doc
Doc looked at Amalea, "I saw you signed up for the pit fights..." He said nothing more.. just let the comment hang there... waiting for Amalea's response.

Mordechai
Mordechai slid once more into the quiet basement of the voodoo cafe, wondering if perchance she might show up as she often did. glancing around he saw four familiar faces, and started towards the bar

Doc
"Mordi!" Doc called out to him, "Your lucky night.. I get to play 'tender.. what is your poison!?"

Elizabeth
Pit fights? Well, that was...interesting. "Pit fight?" Elizabeth's attention shifted off the drink, to the other woman in the room, genuinely interested in hearing about these 'pit fights.' the glass was artisitcally collected with a sideways glance to it, Elizabeth bringing the English version of Gin to her nose and took a deep breath in. Then made a slight scrunch of her face. Was that cleaning solution, served in a bottle, under the pretense of alcohol? She set the glass down to give it a second, and third thought, still waiting to hear what pit fights were.

Amalea
"I did," she confirmed with a light smile. "I've signed up for all the gauntlet tournaments we do in VD, so the idea of being able to go against someone I don't normally get to appealed." Amalea laughed as she shook her head, "Course, that didn't quite work as planned given I ended up paired with Azraeth the first round."

Doc
Doc looked at Lizzie as she queried about the pit fights. He looked at Amalea then Lizzie.. then back at Amalea, then back to Lizzie. "You know.. like .. **** fighting.. but with people?" Doc made a wtf face at Lea, thinking Lizzie is about to go off on him.

Mordechai
Making sure the four he saw were the only occupants, he stepped to the bar and a low rumble slid from his lips, "The blood of infants, Arbor Vitae, fresh, unchilled"

Doc
Doc was luckily sidetracked by Mordie's order, "Coming right up.. nice vintage I might add..." Doc spun round, grabbed the wine, decorked it, let it breath, while he poured Amalea's wine and slid it to her. "Try that.. how is it?" He looked at Mordie, "Needs to breathe.. so just bear with me.."

Mortll
Mortll had been serving Meals since she had awoken now with Night time falling earlier it had been a couple of hours and she was getting tired of smiling and putting on a happy face ... She had seen a few quickly slip past the human populace and enter the basement and it Seemed a very apealing prospect to her at the moment she wiped her hands on the bar towel and pulled the apron over her head. she grabbed a plate of cheeses and put some turkey and snacks on it and headed toward the stairs It was time for her a drink .

Mordechai
The killer had heard the others conversation, but had yet to speak, finally as he waited for his drink he queried, "A new pit is open?

Elizabeth
Luckily the order from Mordechai went unnoticed as Elizabeth tried to understand the premise of '**** fights.' When she discovered what it was, Elizabeth laughed. "Fighting chickens? Really?" Elizabeth could think of a thousand other things to do with a chicken given she grew up on a farm instead of wasting it for a few minutes of sport. "So, you will fight this Azreath and...someone will die?" She asked, tipping her head and frowning.

Doc
Doc saw Mortll headed down the stairs, she looked tired. "Take a load off Mortll.. I got this.. " He poured Mordie's drink, then a second glass for Mortll. He slid Mordie's his, and then slid Mortlls' to the empty seat at the bar. His attention was turned back to Lizzie. "**** fighting.. you never saw a **** fight?! You.. " He stopped. **** fighting was a 'gentleman's sport' of course she didnt know it. "Ok.. yes.. to the fight. No to the death." He looked at Lea, "Did you fight already? Did I ******* miss it?!"

Enver_Marshall
Most vampires didn't eat, and those that could, didn't typically eat either. And since he knew she couldn't eat, Enver didn't waste his time with food. Instead he ordered an arrangement that was festive. With the help of a female friend or two. He couldn't talk still, and he was sporting a few holes in his body, along with a stiff walk from a bone that was still healing. He ducked in, looked for Mortll and offered her the arrangement in...what the hell were these things called again? Caprawhat?

Enver_Marshall

Amalea
"It's an underground type of tournament, Liz. Less rules and structure than something held in the Gauntlet or run officially." She eyed Doc for a moment as she took the offered glass, "Perhaps some night you should screen 'Fight Club' for her?" It wasn't exactly the same sort of premise, but it'd be closer than fighting chickens. A small sip of her drink later, she smiled at Doc, "It's perfect, thanks." The red-head shook her head at Liz's question about fights being to the death, "Not to the death, just till one is incapacitated or otherwise unable to continue." A slight shake of her head was her answer to Doc, "I haven't. Voodoo was involved in a gang fight last night, so wanted to wait a day to make sure he was in fighting form. No honor in fighting a weary or injured opponent."

Mortll
Mortll eyed Doc then just shook her head she placed the platter of meat and cheese near Amalea ... Its a bit of turkey ham and cheese Weve been giving out free dinners all evening I figured you could use a bite " She nodded toward Doc a bit puzzled The man always seemed to surprise her "Thanks Doc "

Mordechai
"They are tournements of skill and prowess, with champions and challengers, similar to the festivities of old..."

Doc
Doc, who was behind the bar, called out to Enver, "Good fight Old man.. Who knew you had it in you? Drinks are on me.. what will you have?"

Elizabeth
"But then it is not the same." She said pointedly with a lift of her shoulders. Not that she wanted Amalea to die, but the online source said the birds fought until one was dead. "Still, it is a strange idea. Wasting the birds like that for a few minutes. Chicken was my favourite growing up...granted...roosters not so much." She cringed, remembering the taste of the thing the one time her mother cooked the rooster that had died.

Doc
"I said.. 'like' as in familiar to.. but not axact." Doc grumped. It was -like- **** fighting.

Amalea
"Thanks, Mortll," she gave the woman a smile as she eyed the platter; a light snack wasn't completely out of the question. "I brought some blood jellies for you guys. 100% blood, so completely safe for everyone."

Mortll
turned looking at Enver he was a bit worse for the wear holding a huge Cornicopia of flowers ... " These are georgeous Enver nice taste" She took them from him a finger running across one of the delicate bloosoms "Great quality Thank you What got you all banged up i thought you were a lover not a fighter ?"

Elizabeth
Elizabeth picked up a cookie and then stood on the one of the decorative pieces, and popped it in Doc's mouth. "Yes, like. So, why are you not fighting? It seems to have your interest?" She asked with an amused smile.

Doc
But in answer to Amalea, "Excellent.. then I can cheer your on! I didnt want to miss it. I was watching Minx.. until old man pants here had to beat her." He glanced at Enver, "YOu would think he would be a gentleman.. but no.. he took my baby girl down. The ********." He grinned good naturedly as he **** talked right in front of Enver.

Enver_Marshall
Enver moved to the bar, slowly and glanced at the shelf of booze. He then pointed to the whiskey and then gave two fingers, indicating a double, before his attention shifted to Mortll and offered her a nod and a shrug of his shoulders. It was a long, long story.

Doc
Doc chewed.. swallowed and finally said, "Have proclivities for watching fighting.. is not so off putting to the voting public like actually fighting and beating the ever loving **** out of someone."

Doc
Grabbing the whiskey Enver had pointed out, Doc poured the two finger amount, and slid it over to Enver. He glanced from Enver to Mortll and then smirked. Ah ha.. Interesting.

Mordechai
Cold eyes watched the flower child as he neared Mortll, Mordechai kept his thoughts to himself, but he new a secret.... and he was unsure how much longer the loud mouth vegan would walk the city streets. Silently sipping his drink, he let the conversation flow about him

Amalea
At Doc's comment, she glanced at Enver; her lips twitching in amusement as she turned back towards Doc. "Looks like she fought like a demon, though," she grinned. "He probably just got a lucky shot... or stab." She hadn't seen the fight, but given the man's appearance tonight, she didn't think she ever wanted to get on Minx's bad side. Then again, if she recalled correctly, if she won her own match, she'd end up fighting the woman the next round. That was a bit of a scary thought.

Mortll
Mortll coughed "You fought Dom ... Damn ... got bigger balls than i thought you had .. They still intact ? " She took a sip of the Arbor Doc had poured her and smilled a **** eating grin

Elizabeth
Elizabeth listened and nodded her head in agreement. Doc was right...of course. Still, she knew he would be really, really good at it.

Doc
Doc looked at Amalea, "I would like you to meet her. Eventually.. " Eventually because .. Minx could be.. territorial. Yes.. eventually. He caught Mortlls' comment and grinned, "He ******* did!.. it was a thing of beauty.. except that he should have ******* lost."

Enver_Marshall
The double shot of whiskey was brought not to his lips, but to his throat where there was a large hole and dumped down it after Enver tilted his head backwards. When he heard Doc pretty much relay whatwent down, he nodded his head. It was how it was set up, he would have preferred someone else...anyone else, but lucky him. Sarcastic thoughts seeped through his mind.

Enver_Marshall
He looked at Mortll with a high brow, as he leaned back and smirked. As if asking if she wanted to find out. Then shrugged his shoulders.

Amalea
Amalea nodded, knowing that eventually could be as soon as the next round of the pit fights, even if it wasn't an 'official' meet type thing. "Of course, whenever you like," she smiled at Doc as she sipped her wine.

Elizabeth
"May anyone come and watch these...fights?" Elizabeth asked, scooting her stool closer to Amalea. "I think you will do far better than him." She glanced to the guy who looked as if he should be dead. In the realm dead.

Mortll
"Dom may look little but shes fierce... No thanks I can heal your nuts but this isnt the place for it " Mortll winked "So what brings you here Enver and Happy Thanksgiving "

Doc
Doc was watching Mortll and Enver. Talk about a match made in hell.. but it could work. Enver was far too ******* egotistical..and Mortll could be that woman that beat the **** out of him. That would be epic. He grinned knowingly at Enver, as if to say .. Your pooch is screwed. His attention then turned to Lizzie, "If you know the right people yes. You know Lea.. she can get you in.. "

Mordechai
Once more he looked down at the petite human, "There are new pits?" he asked again, unused to be ignored...

Elizabeth
"Wonderful. I want in." Apparently people also bet on fights...She smiled at both Doc and Amalea. She of course would be betting on Amalea.

Amalea
"Absolutely!" Amalea agreed with Doc as she smiled at Liz. "You should come, if you'd like a real idea of what pit fighting is." She was trying to ignore Mortll's comment to Enver, so was glad to hear Mord ask his question, "Seems so. At least this tournament seems to be their first go at it, so there's only 4 sets of competitors, but I suspect it may take off as people get used to it."

Enver_Marshall
Enver pointed to the booze. Sure, he had somewhere...on one of his boats, hidden in a cabinet somewhere in one of his apartments or penthouses. But, being he almost died yesterday, what fun was it in drinking by yourself on a boat? Besides, maybe he was gloating a little bit. Okay, maybe a lot.

Doc
Mordie, these are somewhat new.. yes. They are still underground. Still illegal. But yes .. new. *Doc's attention was On Mordie, and thus missed what Lizzie had asked untill he heard Amalea's 'Absolutely' comment. So he directed his attentio nback to the two ladies.

Merry
Merry hadn't really been intending to go looking for Mortll, but something in her blood seemed to draw her to those who shared it. How much she wanted to sit down with someone familiar, just to speak to them. Of course that had been difficult, having been kept hidden away since her return by the boss of the man who had owned the body she resided in originally. The body that was now her own. Merry had been allowed out on one of her excursions with Renato, but it all went south. Hunters were on the prowl and the pair got separated when the attacks occurred and police got involved. The body was bleeding, wounded, and she tried to get to the nearest safe place she could think of. The voodoo, the basement there where her sister could often be find. Down the stairs he stumbled, a man in his mid-twenties, a vampire bleeding through his winter coat, dark hair matted on one side where a bullet had recently pushed back out of his head. "M-Morty." He whimpered, damn near falling down the last few steps and falling to his knees of the basement floor, blue eyes wide and pleading as they sought her out. "Help me, sister."

Doc
Doc's attention stopped as the bleeding male all but fell downstairs. He looked at Mortll, the owner of the bar. Doc didnt recognize him. His first instinct was to but a ******* bullet in his head for darwing undue attention to Mortll's business. ******* asshole.

Elizabeth
"Wonderful. I will need directions." Elizabeth said, before she saw...a gentleman on the floor of the basement. Having never seen him before, Elizabeth wondered who and what he was...a few seconds later she was certain he was a vampire, but who he was? Still clueless. She shifted her chair closer to Amalea.

Doc
Doc nodded absently toward Lizzie, before sending her a telepathic thought ~We may need to make a strategic exit.. ~

Enver_Marshall
So, Enver wasn't a guy that liked shooting people, but that didn't mean he didn't carry a gun on him. So, when whatever this was was going down, Enver pulled out his favorite crafted golden gun and set it on the counter, eyes on the guy on the floor. He really couldn't take some sort of ambush or attack tonight. Tomorrow? maybe? Tonight? **** no and so he would shoot first if need be. Not to kill of course, but enough to put the guy down if need be.

Doc
With measured movements, Doc who was minding the bar, topped off several drinks, under the guise of unlocking his holster so he could pull his weapon if he needed. Out of the courner of Doc's eye, he saaw Enver's action. Alright. Enver won a point in his estimation. Doc then turned his attention to Amalea telepathically ~You have your tome on you?~

Merry
The man was blinking slowly, like those eyelids were getting too heavy to hold open and the struggle to not sink further to the ground was weighing on him. He tried to look around, taking in the faces until one became familiar. "Doctor." He said weakly, turning his attention to the man. Doc had offered her a job once, and had been a friendly face even if his advances had been mildly inappropriate, she had not taken notice of that. He was nice to her, and therefore he was ok. "Doctor, the hunters they are gone, da, but they... They hurt me. Please. I do not want to go back to the darkness, he was not there. Perry was not there."

Amalea
Amalea's eyebrow raised at the person that just made their dramatic entrance. What on earth was going on? Not that she was really sure she wanted to know if the man was that badly off. It was making for an interesting evening. "How about I meet up with you and we go together?" Her attention returned to Liz having processed the woman's comment.

Mortll
Mortll turned watching the guy fall **** if she knew him but apparently he knew her but he had called her sister ... Maybe it was one of the early ones Perry had turned that had disapeared into the shadow realm . She got up from her seat and walked over to the foot of the stairs turning the man over the aura that was dancing around the guy was kind of unmistakable but it couldnt be Mortll laid hand on the wound Merry ?

Doc
Doc frowned, he didnt know this dude, and he wasn't about to go out on a limb for someone that could be trying to ensnare him.. or worse, all of them into a trap. He stayed where he was. But he was debating how best to get Lizzie and Lea out of harms way if things really went south.

Elizabeth
Someone was ruining Thanksgiving. After all the hard work Elizabeth had gone to to get Doc and Amalea to agree to the idea of it...granted it had sort of backfired in a sense...but still. She had made cookies and they were enjoying themselves, Doc was eating cookies! Her blue eyes narrowed as she took in a deep breath and then held it. Many thoughts ran through her mind...but it was Thanksgiving. Not as if someone received that memo, did they? Accusing eyes glared at the guy on the floor.

Merry
The mystic was being moved, turned so that he was looking up into a face and slumping back against the ground. Mortll. He stared up at her like she was a miracle, reaching up with gentle, trembling fingers to touch her cheek, "My beautiful sister, my Morty. I am so sorry. I could not find him. The shadows sent me back to you empty handed and..." The gesture was weak, hand flicking down to wave at his body. "Like this. Like HIM, not me." Her body was gone, and replaced by one that closer resembled their missing sire in some sick twist of fate.

Enver_Marshall
Enver just sat at the bar and watched. He wasn't going to interject...he might be able to shoot the guy. maybe. But he seemed to know Mortll. If only he could talk, since no one else seemed to be doing much of it-other than the guy.

Doc
Doc had been in teh midst of interations of actions.. if this happened.. do A. If that happened .. do B.. but he made the mistake of glancing at Lizzie. Oh.. holy... ****. Lizzie was angry. Doc counted to ten as quickly as possible. The last time he saw that look on her face.. It had not been pretty. He needed to get Lea and Lizzie out. "Ladies.. " He smiled pointedly at both Lizzie and Lea.. "My Ladies.. what say we move the party.. elsewhere?"

Mordechai
Shifting position silently Mordechai froze as the shadow drifted about him, concealing the behemoth killer

Mortll
" No stay I need your help ... Doc Its Merry .... Dont you see... Shes back shes Mystic ... Its Merry .. and dont you look at me like im crazy look into her mind .... you will see for yourself " Mortll started to heal what she could on the young male figure " Get me some bandages i cant heal all of this "

Enver_Marshall
He heard Doc suggest leaving, which might be a good idea. Should he leave too? He glanced at Mortll. What if she didn't know this guy? Sure, he knew her name, but she did own the bar.

Amalea
The red-head had seen the look on Liz before and she was immensely glad it wasn't aimed at her this evening. She was more than ready to sit as a silent statue given the mysterious newcomer and Liz's look. Doc's suggestion was rather lovely and she had been ready to reply in the affirmative when Mortll spoke up.

Doc
" ******* hell. Really!? " He sighed. Why could people NOT go to public places when they were shot to ******* hell!? " Mortll .. you are sure.. That is who it is? Because if it isnt.. I will ******* kill him myself."

Mortll
"Mortll looked at Doc "Just honor your hypocratic oath for the Public or i will ******* call the press myself and say you stood by while he bleed out How is that for Public Image " Her eyes were blazing "I know my sister "

Merry
"Of course it is Merry, Doctor. Do not hurt me." He whimpered meekly, curling closer to the protection of Mortll. She began to heal the body and Merry felt it, some of the wounds closing, and his eyes did too, focusing on the strange sensation rather than the remaining pains.

Elizabeth
She did not want to leave. Why should they have to leave? It was Thanksgiving! Her eyes glanced between the person, Mortll and then Doc...another breath in before Elizabeth grabbed a cookie and shoved it in her mouth, the music system in the basement coming to an abrupt silence. Mysteriously...or not.

Mordechai
a smirk lit his lips as Mortll called Doc a hypocrite

Doc
Doc glared at Mortll as he moved around the bar, to Mortll and asshole. He was pissed. This was supposed to be a happy fellowship social occasion, not some 'I have just led a **** load of hunters to you' type of night. "Your -sister-" He snarled "Has no ******* care for the people she put in harms way. I will heal -it- because those I hold dear are here. But IT needs to learn some ******* discretion. Anyone in its right mind doesnt put others are risk like this!" He laid a hand on teh male and blood healed him a few times.

Enver_Marshall
Enver had no idea what the **** was going on, but the mention of hunters; a couple times over made his eyes go for the staircase. Right. Time to go. He collected his gun, and just like that was gone.

Amalea
Amalea lips twitched as she followed Elizabeth's example and snagged another cookie to chew on lest she say what was on her mind currently. While she really wanted to, she knew it would be an unwise action currently.

Mordechai
spoke into Docs mind, "There is no risk"

Mortll
"Sure you were falling all over her when she had boobs Thank you for the help Shouldnt have to twist your damn arm You dont know what her story is neither do i Save your ******* judgment for later ... She is one of mine .. i dont ******* turn yours away."

Doc
To Mordie, ~And you know this for a fact? How? Because it said so? No. This **** right here is why the masq fell.~

Mordechai
with a smile, he continued "Though be careful, your lady friend appears upset, and rumor has it she destroed a comlete attack team single handed... There is more than just a nice rack within those clothes"

Mordechai
~there is no risk... because I am bored...~

Doc
Doc Looked at Mortll. "Good. Then you don't need me. And for the record Mortll.. if mine did this ****.. I would put a ******* bullet in their head too for putting others at risk. You dont put others at risk for your sake. You suck it the **** up and lead them away." He stood up.

Merry
Why, why did these men always talk about what was on someone's chest. His eyes narrowed, even as the man healed him he insulted, calling him it and acting like it was the worst thing that could have been done. The hunters had been dispatched, it look like a crime scene, a shoot out between police and a gang. It did not look like vampire attack, she had done her best to get away quietly and follow her senses to Mortll. It was not her fault that she was HERE. "I am not an it. I am a person... I am in here!" She protested, shooting her a sister a look that was both grateful and apologetic. "I should not have come, but I had no choice. I could not go back."

Elizabeth
She turned to Amalea after choking down a cookie...were they dry? She glanced at Amalea to see how the woman was fairing with the cookies, then smiled..or smirked. "Do they not stuff turkey's for Thanksgiving?" Her eyes wandered to no where particular, until she heard Mordechai. Slowly, she stood, anything with any sort of electrical capabilities cutting off without any warning. "I found the task of slaughtering six hardly challenging. Though, I suppose most would. Still, I managed and they have not bothered me since." She looked bored of the conversation

Mortll
"You do not know what happend Doc ... Neither do i ... Wait the until you find out before you get your judgmental *** all bent out of shape ... Is what im saying " Mortll glared at him Why did he have to be so pig headed "Mordie could you help me get him to a chair i would appreciate it and ill get him in a suitable state so he dosnt offend the Doctor so much."

Doc
Doc moved back to the bar, but not behind it. He heard them NOW see they fucked up and shouldn't have come. But then they admitted, It was all about them.. not anyone else. He turned hard eyes toward Amalea, saying lowly but forcibly. "If you are ever in this situation.. DO not put others at risk. Call me how ever you can. But do not lay bare the thin protections we have. It is selfish and self serving."

Merry
Merry was listening, was paying attention now that her blood was rising and she was better able to focus. "You do not understand. I did my best. I did not lead them here! There are no... No..." She grasped for the word, cursing herself internally. While her accent now was more akin to the bodies Texan drawl it still held a strange twang, the lingering Romanian way of forming words that set it slightly askew. "I did not bring danger here. Just myself. I would not bring hurt to my sisters, EVER."

Amalea
"They do," she informed the woman softly, "though I never have given I like a crunch to my stuffing." Her eyes widened as she heard Mord's comment wondering if there was a safe place to find around here when the **** hit the fan as she suspected was now inevitable. Her attention was drawn by Doc's forceful tone. The red-head's lips quirked into a slight smile as she replied in an equally low voice, "That I can promise without hesitation."

Doc
Doc's tone was still hard, "Good. I will come regardless the danger or death. But I cannot countenance innocents being put at risk. I cannot. Things are far to tenuous as you well know." He softened his tone. "Carry your tome, always." He lifted a hand to brush back Lea's hair, but stopped mid rise. His hand dropped. His tone flat, as he said. "I find I am not in the mood for frivolity after all." He glanced at the male. The young always thought of themselves first. Not the needs of the many. "I apologize that *I* ruined your evening." He turned and left.

Merry
Some vampires talked like they were somehow ancient, when in reality they were turned around the same time as she had been. Yes, she had lost strength due to having been reborn and yes in human years he was older than her but not by so much that it gave him the right to act as if he were 100 years older. Not to mention the fact that if he saw himself as so much older it was even more disturbing that he had, as Mortll pointed out, showed her attention when her body was that of a curvy young female. She began to wonder if part of the rage was because of the physical gender change, that perhaps this was a man who would call anyone who was confused and different, who gone through change an "it". She kept this to herself, for now, focusing on trying to move, to drag his knees up and plant feet so that he could try to rise, to get into a better place to sit and regain enough strength. Doc had been friendly once, but no more and that made Merry sad, made Merry wonder how many more would turn their backs because of something she could not control. She was a Mystic, and she had no choice in the matter. She had been careful not to be followed, to get herself to a place she knew of as safe, as where friends might be... She was wrong. Few friends were left and she was afraid.

Amalea
Amalea nodded quietly knowing that he spoke true. She'd never willingly or knowingly put her family, friends or their kind in danger; it went against everything she worked for since coming to the city. "I do and will continue to do so," she smiled for a moment, catching the movement of his hand though not commenting. She growled lightly as she followed him, "It wasn't you who did so."

Mortll
Mortll had healed the young males body that now sat next to her as much as she possibly could. She had been happy to see Doc when she had first came down here but events had made things Crystal clear ... She looked around the room at the people that remained Not a one had even tried to help her when she had asked ... Doc had begrudginly What the **** had gotten wrong with people "

Elizabeth
Thanksgiving was anything but Thanksgiving. There were cookies, certainly, but no turkey, no stuffing and then there was someone bleeding all over the establishment, which, Elizabeth doubted was a typical Thanksgiving scene for Amalea. Shakey, but more so angry hands collected the platter of cookies, before the platter dropped as Elizabeth flickered out of existance. Which was probably best for..well, the establishment.

Mortll
She started to speak " Happy Thanksgiving everyone Im sorry somone being hurt and needing help Ruined your eavning ... I think all of you might want to think about that a little and what happend and what the people around you did when one of our kind did need help they didnt help they thought about how it would look and how the humans would react Rather than offering help ... Think about your own actions as well did you do anything I will be finding out what happend with my sister and making sure she is Ok and reorienting her to the world ... I hope the rest of your ThanksGiving is well ."

Merry
Merry tried to stand, leaning into Mortll heavier than intended, but strength was returning. "I am sorry, Morty. Was it a special day?" She frowned, trying to remember what this Thanksgiving was about. She thought that in this country it was had in October. A quiet voice seemed to whisper to her, male and distant, almost tinny as if he was trying to communicate through static. "American Thanksgiving, Darlin'" the voice said, "Turkey and pilgrims and fat Americans." She looked around, confused, swearing she saw something flicker out of the corner of her eye but no one was there when she turned to look.

Mortll
"No darlin Not really Its a Day for Friends and Family and well you showed up just in time ... Where have you been and what happend to get you like this ?"

Merry
He swayed as he stood, moving his body into the nearest chair before answering questions. "The realm of shadows. I went to find him..." HIM, being Perry, it was always him for Merry. "I saw someone who had his face, almost identical to our Perry. It scared me. I thought he had gone, that he had given his body away and so I went to look. I searched the shadows and then... I do not know why I came back. He drew me to him, and this body... " A male, dark hair, pale and tall, with long limbs and tattoos. A male with pouted lips and blue eyes that looked like they could be full of laughter, but were currently serious beneath heavy dark brows. He looked like a guy who would be Perry's friend, they shared similarities. "I did not help."

Ember March
Curiosity. If cats were to be believed, it could kill you. Still, the activity from the basement was distracting Ember from the coffee and the WiFi. She follows the sound of the voices, catching the tail end of the conversation. "American Thanksgiving needs starving-pox-riddled Pilgrims and the beginning of the end of a way of life for the poor Indians..." Did anyone ask her to intervene, or interrupt? Well no, not technically. Sometimes one couldn't help themselves. "Private Party?" The newcomer continues as she flashes a winning smile. "Don't let me interrupt... or do. Great coffee." She's comedic, in her own right... her particular brand of humor possibly off-putting. "Is this not a public area?" Her eyes widen as if she just realizes she might have made a faux pas.

Mortll
Mortll had slipped into Merrys head it was a jumble of memories and she was getting strange glimpses of the mans mind that Merry had taken over his body it was a mess in there too much for Mortll to sort out she knew that soon the guy would just let go or her sister would just go even more insane " Merry how did you get hurt ? How did yo get shot ?"

Mortll
Mortll turned at the sound of the Newcomer "This is a private area You dont have the credentials to be down here Please leave "

Ember March
The girl's face fell, "But, the guy upstairs said something about a flower-shop? He gave me an application." She begins to pat her person. "... he did give me an application." She repeats, this time in a softer tone. What...did... she... do... with... it?

Mortll
Mortll rubbed her eyes She was seriously going to kill him if he wasnt so damn good she would do it now " You are a human ? With ablilties ?" She eyed the woman This wasnt exactly the time for interviewing a new employee but then Mortll wasnt going to just let her go without getting her information either . She eyeed the young male that seemed to be napping now beside her . His clothes were still blood stained and he looked half dead but it didnt seem to phase the woman standing there patting her body for a missing bit of paper .

Ember March
Ember's nose wrinkles as she notices the blood on the fellow's clothing. "Jeez, is he all right?" Her features suddenly reveal the 'Eureka!' moment when she realizes where she's left the paper and tugs the application from her inner coat pocket, neatly quartered into a small rectangle with sharply folded lines. She passes it over. A name, not hers. An address... to a motel. The number, certainly hers, ringing straight to a burner phone she carries. She doesn't unfold the application but holds it between her second and third finger in offering.

Mortll
"He is fine " Mortll took the application " You know im a vampire correct ? You still want to work for me ?"

Ember March
Ember gave a shrug of her shoulders, "I'm progressive?" She's cheeky, and she's got pluk... or something.

Mortll
Mortll studdied her "We will see about that ? What are you ? "

Ember March
(i have a crying baby. Assume me to have given you the info you want.)
