Trail of Blood [open]

To take advantage of the 10x RPP weekend, there's a 200 word per post maximum on this thread (in order to speed up replies), and you are not under any obligation to wait for others to reply. Reply as often as you like.
This thread takes place immediately after the huge fight that broke out in
this thread, but anyone is free to join (as long as you didn't die in that thread of course, lol). However, if you're trying to track down Lecovio after he fled the battle, a dice roll to determine your success would be appreciated. If you fail, feel free to continue roleplaying the search and roll again maybe a page later. If you're not tracking him, feel free to join in regardless and stumble across him by random.
Lecovio had never lost a leg before. Blistering, mind-scrambling pain aside, it was an interesting sensation. He could still feel that it was there, but nothing moved when he told it to move.
His vision swam violently as he hobbled down a cordoned off warehouse district, using his hand to prop him up against the walls as he hopped and stumbled and clamoured. He'd lost a lot of blood, and felt as weak as a kitten. No, worse, he thought - a human.
He gritted his teeth and moved on, trying desperately to find a safe location to hide while his body healed. If one of the hunters that had wounded him so badly found him now, he'd be dead. He'd be able to offer no resistance, or teleport away as he had done before. He pulled at each warehouse door as he moved around the side of a large abandoned building, finding each to be locked too tightly for his waning strength to pry open.
With a rasping sigh, he slumped down against the final door, his hand leaving a slick trail of blood against the ridged, metallic surface.

The voicemail on Anais's cell phone ended and the communication device was pocketed. Fitz would figure out how to deal with the minor issue of her mother's misplacing the septic pump manual. Between the two of them it would be rediscovered and it hardly required her to come over as she was asked to. Only she would have a set of parents that could bait a fish to come out of water if they wanted it to.
A faster pace was guiding her steps through the darker area of the city she routinely tried to avoid. Unfortunately parts for her latest helicopter seemed to be delivered into the wrong warehouse. They weren’t cheap and time was money when it came to a pilot who was backlogged with bills from missed clients and hospital bills thanks to her dropping from the unfriendly skies in the rural yard of some rather friendly citizens.
Just as her steps had her leaving the most unsettling shadows behind her she took notice of something rather disturbing. A man down with a visible smear of blood pointing down to where they gave up. Should she or shouldn’t she?
“Need me to get the door for you?” She kept herself out of reach just in case. “Or perhaps call the police and request emergency services?” Yeah, that sounded like a plan. She reached for her cell phone.

Lecovio glanced up through bleary eyelids which were flickering open and closed rapidly, evidencing a man at the edge of exhaustion. He made out the form of dark haired, strikingly beautiful woman. But he'd had his fill of letting his guard down around human women recently. With a grunt, he yanked free his dagger from his belt and laid it on his suit pants so as not to seem overly threatening, but to show that he wasn't going to go down without a fight if this was yet another hunter.
"No police. No ambulance neither," he rasped in a thick cockney London accent. "They ask too many questions, see. But if you could be so kind as to open the door for a cripple, I'd be most thankful. Don't really fancy kipping under the stars. Too cold."

There was a whole city beneath the actual city, that so few utilized. Atabei could walk for what seemed like hours before finding a single soul. Just what she liked; ease of moving, no distractions and no busy eyes.
Using the markings she painted on the walls about two years ago, the woman from Hispaniola moved towards the warehouse area. Not that she knew the name of the buildings, or the district names, she only knew them as the places with the needed ingredients. Slowly, she pulled open the manhole covering to the topside world and made her way into the land of the living.

“Can’t say I blame them.” Her eyes danced over his hands as they moved. She took notice of the dagger. She blinked fast then felt her stomach drop. What was it with the city and the weapons? “Fine.”
Her hand made the phone disappear and she moved towards the door while keeping her distance manageable if needed. Not that she could fight her way out of a wet paper sack compared to the rest of the Buffy’s and Angel’s out there. She was nothing more than a happy meal in the wrong place at the wrong time. She reached for the door making sure to avoid touching the fluid recently left behind. One of these days she would learn to answer her phone when Fitz called. Her pull discovered that the job would require two hands which she put to use on the second attempt.
“Sorry. This seems to be a door that people wanted to keep locked.” The fact a bleeding stranger was needing it open was bizarre. She figured her right foot hiking up against the wall to pull hardly would seem out of line. “I think I got it.” She pulled with all her limited human strength.

As the striking woman approached to open the door, Lecovio nudged himself over to the right, away from her. He didn't want her to feel spooked and to run away. He needed a place to sleep when the sun came up, and with a missing leg and low blood he wasn't in any condition to find one right now.
Then the manhole cover moved to the side, and he sighed at himself inwardly. Of course. He could have used the sewers as a place to lie low, why didn't he think of that?
A dark skinned vampire slipped gracefully from the manhole cover. He stared at her through smouldering, hispanic brown eyes, wondering if this new turn of events would mean bad news for him. With some effort he placed large, calloused palms on the corrugated iron wall and pulled himself back to a standing position.

As the door finally managed to give Anais made the mistake of glancing over to the male as he rose from his spot. Her body felt weak at what she saw which explained the sudden drop of her right foot and her stumble backward. Her hands released the door leaving it partially open. She knew the guy could use a little more help than could be had in a rolling rig with emergency lights. Charles Nilson quickly came to mind.
"I think you need to hook up with a friend of mine." She nodded swallowing back the warnings that were rising within her. Her hand tucked the parts under her arm as she went to reach for her cellphone yet again. That is when she found herself in the company of a woman she had never set eyes on. "Or her?" She nodded towards the female that was nearly as dark as the night surrounding them.

The problem with not seeing many things other then dirty water, and rats in the sewer system meant for one hungry vampire. Especially, since Atabei found herself taking long periods of sleeping stints. Day and night didn't exist for a woman who lived in the darkness of the tunnel systems. They seemed to be one of the same for Atabei.
When she fully emerged from the shadowy depths, a woman wearing only a dirty, long sleeved flannel shirt appeared. To most, her attire, or lack of, would be illegal, covering just enough given her petite figure. To her, it was more than she was used to.
Blood. Lots of it was what had Atabei forgoing the desire to find the ingredients for her nightly rituals, and searching for the source. Dark eyes peered into even darker surroundings in search of the one bleeding.

"Oh, this?" Lecovio asked, glancing down at his stump, which by now had stopped bleeding but looked like a horrible mess regardless. "Nah love, it's alright. I'll be as right as rain in no time." He looked straight back up at the sewer-dweller, keeping his eyes on the newcomer.
By now he was assuming the human woman was no vampire hunter, as no vampire hunter could see a person hopping around with a missing leg and not at least ask the question to themselves. Was this a 'creature of the night'?
He saw that the other woman had spotted him by now. The barely clothed vampiress rising from the earth like some swamp monster gave him pause, but he waved at her with flick of the wrist and said, "Ello. You alright are ya?"
