The Pecularities of Business

Enver: Enver had finished with the things he needed to do for the night, then weighed his options. He could try and meet up with Mortll tonight, or tomorrow, but who knew what might happen in the crazy city of Harper Rock? Tonight would be better. He grabbed the card she gave him, dialed the number and waited as it rang.
Mortll: It never failed that when she was elbow deep in **** the phone would ring. She peeled off the glove and wiped a stray hair from her forehead. She fished the phone out of her pocket "Hello ?"
Enver: If Mortll hadn't answered, Enver might have been relieved. He was still a little on edge about this entire ordeal, but if she was genuine, there could be some genuine progress on a lot of fronts. “Evening Mortll. It's Enver. Was wondering if you're free tonight. If not, there's tomorrow.”
Mortll: "I'm working in my Green house I can take a break and give you a tour and we can talk ... Not allergic to anything are you ? Some of these vampires seem to be endlessly cursed with ailments to toxins such as Pollen "
Enver: “No allergies that I'm aware of.” He assured her, not caring where they met up, or if she was in the middle of something and needed to work at the same time. “Don't stop on my account. With work that is. You women seem better at the multitasking thing than us men. I know you'll hear me out.” He chuckled into the phone. “Give me about twenty minutes and I'll see you at Jardin, was it?”
Mortll: "Yes sir not too far from your theater
Enver: "Alright. See you then." Enver hung up his phone and grabbed his charcoal colored suit coat and threw it over a light purple button down. He collected two sets of handguns he made himself, and put one in the holster around his shoulders, then buttoned his suit coat up. "Miss Knight. Heading out for the night. If things go south, you know what to do." He buzzed into her desk intercom, before swiping his keys off his desk and going for his grey Spyder and heading to where his GPS told him where to go. Once there, he locked the car, stuffed the keys in his pants pocket and headed inside Jardin. After he cleared his throat, Enver called out cautiously for the woman of the hour. "Mortll?"
Mortll: Mortll had at least ditched the compost covered work gloves and washed her hands she was still in a pair of faded jeans and a white t shirt and her work boots she was looking very farm girl today with her hair pulled back into a pony tail. She came down the stairs to the top floor "Hello Mr Marshall. " She looked over his suit as she offered her hand " Come on upstairs. I've built a fire in the green house and there is a comfortable spot up there. Is there anything you want to drink before we head up? We have a nice assortment at the bar here though it is a bit gauged to the Ladies social club than it is hard drinkers "
Enver: He cocked his head to the right when he saw her, having only seen her in dresses and the like every time they encountered the other. He waited until she was done, then shook his head. “No, thank you. And I think we can get past the formal names, yeah? Just Enver suits, especially since Mr. Marshall was my dad.” He chuckled and winked at her as he followed her upstairs. “How you doing tonight?” He asked, then changed his mind. “If you have some water, or black coffee, I'd almost kill for either of those. Mostly the coffee bit.” He grinned at the confession.
Mortll: Mortll fished out her phone and Told Jane to brew a pot of coffee and deliver it to the Greenhouse " I hope you don't mind a little dirt Enver. The greenhouse is full of it but its one of the more interesting places in here. So few get to ever see it " Mortll wasn't lying there were but just a fraction of the inventory of plants and flowers that she actually had on display in the shop. Mortll opened the door at the back of the top floor to rows and rows of plants Other rooms lead off to the side with various environments . "After you Mr . Ummm Enver.”
Enver: “Believe it or not, I get my hands dirty a lot. I tend to do a lot of the handy work in the places I own. I found I could pay someone to do a half *** job for a lot of money, or just do it myself and save twenty or thirty bucks an hour and get it done right.” Enver said with a shrug of his shoulders. “Typically, flowers are a nice thing to give, or get. But...” Enver cleared his throat. “Bullets and stab wounds aren't.” He finished, wondering how Mortll could be into creating life, while taking it away at the same time.
Mortll: Mortll eyed him “life is but a cycle Enver Everything that dies is reborn somehow Even us ." She walked him through the green house to the back where the fireplace was lit and there were a couple of rocking chairs sitting in front of it. Jane had already been in and a pot of coffee was sitting on the table in between them.
Enver: “Poetic.” Enver commented with a nod of his head, then glanced at the coffee pot as he moved to a chair in front of the fireplace. “I have to admit, I never thought we'd be here. Sitting here, talking...politics, I guess. Or the change of things.” He grabbed a mug and poured himself a cup of coffee, then looked at her. “Coffee?”
Mortll: "No thanks I can't ... Only one thing i can ingest now days is blood i havent eaten or drank anything in years Though i did get quite good at making people think i did for the longest " She smiled " So what do you want to know about what i believe Enver " the name felt strange on her tongue she had thought of him as Mr Marshall for so long and it was taking a conscious effort to not do so now .
Enver: “I don't really eat much, unless out in public venues. There's no point. I don't really crave anything, or have a genuine appetite.” He stated with a shrug of his shoulders, before bringing the cup of coffee to his lips and taking a long sip as he thought about what he wanted to know. “Well, I guess it's not so much what you believe, but what you're going to do. I'm aware you've been fighting some internal battles with those Disciple dicks, Helheim guys and then the other things that aren't vampires.” He shrugged his shoulders. “Which means you own some parts of the city, by default. So now that you've got them, what are you going to do with them? More so, what's the point of fighting the good fight, so to speak, if you're not doing anything with what you've won?”
Mortll: Mortll took in what he was saying then she had to think a moment before she answered " I own nothing the people who bought the shops work their jobs and put their sweat and worries into every single neighborhood own those places. I'm not the type of person that believes that running some shitty gang out of a neighborhood gives me any rights to what other people have put their money and lives into. I own Nothing i just make sure that some supernatural **** heads don’t go making trouble for the people that Do i guess .
Enver: He listened and then frowned, before adjusting how he sat. “So you're fighting to keep the people safe from 'shitty gangs,' was it?” he nodded, thinking he understood. “Okay. So you're keeping other supernatural things at bay in these areas, I'm guessing?”
Mortll: "Pretty much If we let supernatural beings just run amok in the city what good would it be and to be honest ... I am a vampire i can't say im a saint or passive i have destructive tendencies ... I do enjoy killing things as you probably know ... my true secret is i like seeing things come to life and live as well ... i dont know how much of a secret it is.” she gestured towards the plants .... I just dont think people realize that it isn't just plants ."
Enver: Enver nodded his head, then pondered what she had to say. Either what she was potentially hinting at went over his head, or he chose to ignore it for now. "So, you're a closet case peace keeper?" He chuckled then set the cup down and held up both his hands. "Kidding." He rescinded the claim, before pinching the bridge of his nose. "So, then what is it you believe in, or hope to see for the future? Because right now, Harper Rock is kind of going to ****." He admitted openly, not sure if he cared or not anymore. Not since he had a refuge that he could escape to.
Mortll: Mortll had to laugh " Since when is that new? Harper Rock has been going to **** since the Elders came back they went crazy trying to recoup make sure the species and themselves didn't perish again. The life of a vampire tends to take out the weak if you haven't noticed ... Many have sub-come to the void to never come back its not a game for the weak. Time takes care of those that can't handle it or abuse it. Im not worried about them in the long run. What im worried about is What happens when the rest of the world come in on us like the plague . Its happening I'm no fan of the Paladins. They have tried to kill me on several occasions I don't think their minds will ever be swayed its just their personalities so i do not focus on them ... except the ones that approach me and act like decent people ... People like Amalea that work with us and many others I work with where as a few years ago that would have been impossible for me . I think Enzo was on the right track with his promotions and Making us public a lot of your views were the same i think ."
Enver: Enzo wasn't a name Enver was familiar with, he'd have to try and look him up later, if he could. Someone who thought along the same lines of him was someone Enver wanted to know, because the guy was probably working against the grain too with whatever he was trying to do. “You'll have to give me his contact details. Always glad to work with someone who is on the right page.” Enver said, picking the coffee back up again and taking a long sip of it. “So, Enzo and I were on the right track, as you've admitted. You have shops and other places you own that I'm not even aware of, what are you going to do with what is yours on a smaller scale? Events is a good place to start, Mortll.” Enver said with a shrug of his shoulders.
Mortll: Mortll just shook her head "For a vampire you have a shitty memory Enver. Do you remember Dragonal and the event that was thrown at Jardin De Fluers all the press was there . You were one of The guest attractions . Lorenzo Vaughn Dragomir Head CEO . My long lost husband that disappeared over a year ago and Is now my Ex Husband ." She looked at him leavly " The Paladins are probably the reason he has disappeared and the Catholic church but that is a rabbit hole i dont care to crawl into after him he made his choices " she paused "I'm not like you Enver or Enzo you both are the alluring type yes i can pass for human and ive worked hard to learn the skills and talents necessary not to freak people out with my necromancer ways and i am quite aware that i see things and stuff that other people can't ... So me in the public eye on a regular basis other than of our kind that understand these things is not a grand idea . I need someone like yourself or a real people person to put a front or a face to my endeavors "
Enver: Lorenzo, Enzo. Right. Enver just nodded his head and then chuckled. “Well, when you've been shot in the head as many times as I have, I'm sure it's bound to take it's toll.” Enver said dryly, trying tp push past the comment of a shitty memory. Disappearing ex's; Enver was wondering if that was a trend, or if someone should be concerned about all the disappearing other halves in the city. “I beg to differ.” Enver stated bluntly after putting his coffee cup down. “Only showing the best of our kind, isn't going to win people over in the long run, Mortll. People don't like being lied to, so if all the Enzo's and others like him in the world are the only one's showing face and they find out a year later that there are those that are a little...different based off their path, they're going to feel lied to. It's a team effort on behalf all us vampires, not just a certain group or subset.” He shook his head, wondering why everyone wanted to remain in the shadows, even after the masq had been dropped so long ago.
