Indigo quit
Enver_Marshall
(will start this in about ten minutes)
Enver_Marshall
Tonight, the stage that was typically cleared for whatever event he had planned for the night, as hosting a small six piece band that had been playing classic rock in the instrumental form. Enver had been at the bar, observing the people coming in, enjoying themselves at the slots and tables that could make or break a man (Or woman). When he moved from the bar with a microphone that had been turned off until he started making his way to the center of the casino. Once there, the band stopped playing and Enver cleared his throat. "Good evening, everyone." He began as he looked around the main room. "Thank you for coming to the final festivity for Humanity week." He looked at the familiar faces that had come to other events and to others he hadn't seen before. "I hope you've enjoyed yourself if you've come to any of the other events. If not, I hope you enjoy yourself tonight. Mix and mingle, find a new face and make a new friend. Anything is possible if you put forth just a little bit of effort."
Indigo
walked in and slipped up next to Adley. A soft whisper to the side of his cheek was followed by a kiss. She noticed the small spot left behind from the paint night and subtly tried to rub it out with the toe of her shoe. She gave him a wink and slipped away to find what she had left behind at the coat check before the evening started. (wearing https://www.instagram.com/p/BPZVh27A0Ng ... den_barbie)
Enver_Marshall
He glanced around another time, grabbed a glass off a silver platter that came by, and raised it. "So, I raise my glass to the hopes of a promising future for everyone here, and everyone not here. Go, drink and enjoy yourselves." He tipped the wine glass back, swallowed it all down, then tugged at his white tie, before shutting off the micriphone. The party was here, but the party was for everyone.
Adley Reed
Adley stood with one hand in a pocket and the other holding the stylish cane that had come with the suit. He didn't need it, but it was stylish nonetheless. There was a hat on his head, too, making him look like a mafia boss. And he liked it. He didn't often dress up, as opposed to Indigo, and had had fun with it. He resisted the urge to grab her backside as she slipped away, and sauntered into the room while she went about her business.

Craven
It had been her editor's suggestion that she attend the event and see how fashion reflected on the vampire community, how they actually held black tie. Craven had stuttered at first, but when Daphne insisted, it was easier to just go along. To tell the woman that she was a little insulted for it to be insinuated that vampires had no style or did anything different was a battle she wasn't ready to fight. She was still adapting to the change, the need to drink blood and switching to living in the night. Lakenna and Adley made it easier, but there still remained some discomfort, but she reminded herself that it was her career. She'd done this time and time again all over the world as a journalist and she had the stamps on her passport, the pictures and reports to prove it. There was a black shawl resting over her bare shoulders as she entered the Casino, removing it as she reached the coat check and handed both it and the sparkled clutch she held over for safe keeping.

Harrison
Harrison had intended to fully support his sire in his Humanity Week endeavour, and though he'd been helping to keep the peace in the background, this was the first public event he'd been able to make it to. He'd made sure to invite Rikki, just to make sure that he did, indeed, show up -- that he wouldn't get distracted by any spirits on the way. Even now, he found it hard to be so near the place he had 'died'. But he pushed the discomfort aside -- which was easy to do with such a jewel on his arm. A smile overtook his features as they entered the Casino, Harrison ready to mingle. He'd introduce Rikki to his sire, eventually -- when the man wasn't so busy himself.

smiled to Craven as she checked in her items. The ticket in her hand still remained pinched firmly between her fingers. The attendant seemed to be busy =so she waited patiently and found a chance to slip next to Craven. "You look stunning. " Of course she did.
Adley Reed
Adley sauntered over to Craven as soon as he saw her enter, only for her lithe form to be joined by Indigo. He overheard Indigo complimenting Craven, and grinned. "You both are," he said. "Can I get either of you a drink?" he asked, knowing that Indigo could drink whatever she liked, and assuming Enver had vampire-friendly drinks up for grabs.
Doc
Lizzie was was ready when he arrived to pick her up. She was dressed in the silk maroon gown she had worn to the museum. He had enjoyed watching her walk ahead of him, the way the fabric clung to her. Doc gave her an appreciative whistle, then helped her with her wrap.( Lizzie: http://celebmafia.com/wp-content/upload ... 2016-4.jpg ) It took a little under an hour to arrive at the casino, and due to it being a gala event held by Enver Marshall II, the paparazzi were there in droves. Doc stood to the side while Lizzie posed politely for photos. Not intending to be a part of the photos, he tried to side step and move around to the other side, but he too managed to have a few photos snapped of him. (Doc: http://imageshack.com/a/img904/2861/gcIg9l.png) Taking Lizzie’s arm, he opened the door for her, and allowed her to precede him inside.
Craven
She smiled to Indigo in return, "And you do as well, Indigo! I love the lace." She smiled once she recognized the woman at her side, her hair falling over her shoulder. "If all eyes don't remain on you, I'll be very confused with some opinions this evening." At Adley's voice, she smiled to him in return. "That would be wonderful, thank you. And you look very dashing, Adley."
Flynn
For the first night in weeks, Flynn was walking the dark streets alone. Usually, as soon as Azraeth was awake, one of two things happened. Either he was hunting the human down, usually in the sewers, or summoning him to the grayscale apartment. Despite the fact the had agreed to meet at the Casino, the paladin found he missed the immediacy of the vampire’s company. So rather than waste time, he was dressed and ready well before the start of the event, and managed to get there just in time for Enver to take up the microphone, as he always did to greet those that assembled. With his hands in his pockets near the door as to not interrupt, he took a glance around for the familiar faces, and the unknown while looking for one face in particular.

Enver_Marshall
found a place to set the emtpy glass down, then moved among the crowd to a familiar face. Enver moved over to greet Harrison, extending a hand to his childe. "Thanks for coming, man." He'd been surprised to see Harrison, believing him to be a more private personna than anything. Which was fine, no judgement made, he was glad for the surprise visit.
Amalea
The red-head had been looking forward to this event for the entire week. She had thoroughly enjoyed the question and answer session if one didn't count the little black raincloud that had appeared in attempt to cast some gloom over the event. Her chat with Every afterward had been equally wonderful and she had been pleased to learn the woman had won the dinner prize she had provided. Aside from ensuring Eirene's was in place, the blood thief had put extra security into place. Tonight was about having fun and mingling, which was something she wanted to ensure was possible. Amalea had been impressed with Enver's opening speech. He had certainly outdone himself this week; tonight would be the perfect ending, in her opinion. It looked like there was a great turnout and she was certain she'd bump into someone she knew soon enough, but for now, a visit to the bar for a glass of red wine was in order. ( Wearing - https://imgur.com/oMurOMl )
Indigo
the tip of her tongue curled just barely over the corner of her top lip as she danced her exotic blues between Adley and Craven. It looked so good, the site of the them dressed to the nines that it was worth capturing. It would only get better when the rest rolled in. She stepped in and whispered at her ear with her eyes on Adley. "He is where the eyes will be. Watch him work the place." She slipped her arm around his waist and gave his backside a playful squeeze.
Elizabeth
"Thank you, Charles." Elizabeth smiled at him as they entered the casino, the woman glad she did not have any money on her. The allure of the bright, colourful machines had their appeal the first and only night she had been within the casino, but had lost their appeal once she left the casino. However...being within the building and near the machines, Elizabeth could not help but allow her eyes to wander to the flashing lights.
Azraeth
arrived fashionably early, which was to say that he'd shown up about ten minutes before the shindig was about to start. He and Flynn had 'agreed' that they were going to arrive separately, which was totally code for Flynn having made the executive decision for them, because chances were that Az would end up mauling the paladin before they ever got out of one of their apartments. Az had only agreed because it was technically true. "What's a ruffian like you doing in a fancy place like this?" he asked when he caught sight of the mortal and manged, through no small feat, to sneak up on him, pressing against his lover's back, lips spoken against an ear. From there, he slipped his arm into Flynn's, nodding through the door. "Lead the way."

Doc
Doc could not help but notice Lizzie's fascination with the one armed bandits. He recalled she did not know the name of the place previous to him telling her. He grinned at her, "Would you like to give the machines a try? Everyone needs to try it at least once in their life time.." He lifted an eyebrow, in silent query, then added softly, "It would be for Humanities week.. good cause..?" His voice had a 'go on you know you want too' tone to it..
Flynn
Harrison’s offer to attend the Humanity event had come as a surprise, but it hadn’t taken more than a second to accept. With the city’s general chaos, he was a constantly calming presence and the nights she spent in his company always proved to end on a better note. Rikki had heard of the week full of events, but this was the first she had attended. Immediately blown away by the Casino, a smile lit up her face as she looked to the handsome man at her side, “This is fantastic.â€. That was about the time the unknown male appeared, greeting Harrison like an old friend. (Wearing: http://www.hindustantimes.com/rf/image_ ... paper2.jpg)

Adley Reed
Adley returned the squeeze as Indigo slipped her arm around his waist. A whisper was a whisper and he allowed the women their secrecy, brow arched. If he had heard, he'd have disagreed. The women were where the eyes would be -- they glowed, like the light of the stars. "I'll go get us some drinks," he said, pressing a kiss to Indigo's temple before slipping off toward the bar.
Meara
was walking in behind Flynn, playing it cool like she didnt just see that play of affection develop between the mystic and the paladin . She would smile daintily as she moved through the door, pushing the tulle of her skirt down as she passed through the door before she let it bounce out again. It was black tie forma, sure but that didn't mean she couldnt put a more modern spin on her creation. Green eyes would glance around before she would make her way to the bar to get a glass of white wine.

/me had not really expected to come to this event Humanity was going to damn her one way or another but she might as well have fun on the slow ride to hell She entered the Casino the flashing lights of the camera catching her she gritted her teeth and smiled thanking whatever powers that she appeared normal in bright lights She looked around the room noting Doc and Elizabeth before she Spotted Flynn and Azaraeth she smiled and headed toward the two Men . Elizabeth
glanced at Doc as she felt her brows raise. "Most certainly not. The machine took one hundred of my dollars the other evening and did not give me anything in return." She shook her head, then glanced towards the random tables. "What is the gist of those tables?"
Harrison
"This is Enver," Harrison said as his sire slipped up to greet them; he hadn't expected that he'd have much of his sire's time tonight, so made the most of it while he could. "Everything he does is fantastic. Enver, this is Rikki. Rikki, my ah... sire, Enver," he said. It was an unspoken understanding, one they hadn't talked about yet. Harrison knew that Rikki knew he was a vampire, though he hadn't told her, outright. But nor had he made any effort to hide it. He was just glad that, despite knowing, she was still there at his side.
Indigo
watched Adley walk away with a million reasons to watch him step by step. Once he reached the bar her eyes went back to the beauty beside her. "How are you doing?" The question certainly was about the adjustment to nightlife for lack of a better way to present it.
Craven
could only give a soft giggle at the words that were whispered before she nodded, agreeing. After watching her sire leave, she looked up at the other. "It's... different. I don't hate it as much as I once believed I would..." She paused. Trying to think of the best way to put it. "It's a change. I don't know if it's a good one or not, but it's positive because I was able to meet you two, and keep my sister."
Enver_Marshall
"Almost everything." Enver said with a chuckle, before his attention shifted to the woman at Harrison's side. He extended a hand to her, and grinned wide. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Rikki. thanks for coming tonight. There's wine, beer, and other things for someone to drink at the bar and circulating around." He looked at them both, the offer for both of them.
Doc
"Craps table.. " He nodded, "Not lying.. it really is called a Craps table." He nodded toward a few other tables, "Keno, then those" He gestured to a group of tables, "Blackjack, " He then pointed toward another set of tables, "Poker.. and that one a roulette table.." He shrugged, "All the games are in the house's favor. They are called games of chance .. or luck, because the odds are not in the player's favor."
Flynn
didn’t even flinch as Azraeth pressed in against his back, the breath of those teasing words against his ear. Turning his head, he shot the vampire a knowing smirk, “A ruffian? If we are going to resort to name calling, at least be accurately. The term is hooligan,†he said, completely deadpan and adding a nod for emphasis. Regardless, he lead them further into the Casino, only to come across Mortll on their way. “Well, well. Yours is an unexpected face! You look beautiful as ever, Mortll.â€
Elizabeth
She listened and nodded her head, while blue eyes glanced around at each table, then at people within the Casino. "Shall we get a drink? Or be sociable?" Elizabeth offered, eyes landing on the machine that took far more money than it should have from her.
Meara
picked up the glass of wine once it was brought to her by the bartender. She took a couple dollars out of her purse, leaving it as a tip, before stepping away from the counter so others could pick up libations if they so desired. Meara had noticed that there were a great many faces she didn't recognize tonight, and some of the usual crowd as well.
Every
let out a quiet hum just as she entered. It had been of a wavering decision that Every ask her childe if he'd like to attending Enver's event with her. She'd chosen a mint colored gown for the evening, something different to what she'd normally wear - dark in shade, or lace. Normally, it would have been a request of Reanna to attend at her side, or Jayden, but she hadn't had much of a chance to spend time with the brooding Russian since his return home. And she'd missed him, despite the fact she knew the insults, too likely returned. Her dark hair was swept back after a recent cut again and twisted at the back of her head, a silver piece at the top holding her bangs out of her face. There were familiar faces she recognized, Every smiling towards Amalea, Doc and Meara, the childish instinct to stick her tongue out at Enver subpressed as she offered a wave instead, a nod in Adley's direction.

Mordechai
Mordechai slipped quietly into the Casino, eyes scanning the crowd. Pausing for amoment hie heterochromatic orbs studied the mayor for a moment before continuing about the crowd. Humans mixing with vampires. Tuxedos didnt come in sizes to wrap his frame, but he had forgone his duster and stetson. A long braid trailed down over his sholder topping the monochromatic black silk shirt that was tucked into the ever present leather jeans. Moving out into the main area, he slowly weaved his way towards a small human, one he had recently hired.
Indigo
nodded. "I think you are doing really well considering the brief amount of time you both have had to adjust. I wasn't allowed out of the house for weeks." She smirked. "And when I finally did get out it earned me another week back inside." She chuckled at the truth. It was a bit of trial and error for the young allurist.
Doc
Doc gave her an amused smile. He could tell that she really wanted to play the slots. But he wasn't going mention it. "Let's do both, I will go get us a couple a drinks.. while you mingle.. and I will come find you." He nodded to Evee across the room, before looking back at Lizzie.. "Ever had a Martini?"
Azraeth
couldn't help but smile. Hooligan. It was totally fitting. "And yet, my hooligan has no name for me? I'll take nerd, or any variation thereof." He murmured quietly, before spotting Mortll making her way towards them. He broke from Flynn's side to offer the woman a hug as she got closer. "Flynn's right, you look absolutely breathtaking." In truth, Az felt extremely at ease. There were several faces he recognized. Like Indigo, and Amalea. He was pretty sure he'd seen a gorgeously dressed Meara streak by. Doc, a giant, and a certain woman who had just slipped through the door. It was easy to feel at home with so much familiarity.
Adley Reed
"Weeks, I think, is taking a bit far," he said, winking at Craven as he returned with their drinks, passing them out after having overheard the conversation. "Was it?" he asked Indigo. It was all a blur. And it wasn't as if those weeks had been a hardship for either of them.
Meara
gave a kind smile back to Every, but to be honest the allurist was coming up with a blank as to where she had met her. But she did rememeber the face so she played along like her memory wasn't terrible.
Rikki
Her mouth formed a small ‘o’ as Enver was introduced, a vague expression of surprise on her face. He looked very familiar, and if she thought about it for another second, she would figure out why. For the moment, she instead took the offered hand in hers and nodded in greeting, “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I can’t imagine how much it must have taken to put something like this together,†she commented, taking another glance around at the grand scheme of things. Her gaze landed on Harrison, her head tilting. “So, does he keep you in check, or the other way around?†She couldn’t imagine anyone actually needing to keep Harrison in check.
Ariadne
stood at the door and sighed. Three times in a week was pushing her limit, but all boundaries were made to be tested, were they not? She recognized several people as she scanned the room and removed her light cape, revealing her black evening gown. Her eyes lingered momentarily over a few individuals with special meaning before taking in the room as a whole amd making her way, slowly, to the bar. https://i.p i n i m g.com/564x/dd/11/72/dd11 ... 1dff1c.jpg
Mortll
smiled "Hello Mr Flynn you are looking well yourself Azaraeth Lovely night for humanity is it not ?" She smiled her eyes taking in the room
Elizabeth
"I have not, so another first you can introduce me to." Elizabeth said after leaning into Doc's side. Her lips brushed the cheek on that side, before she unlinked her arm from his and made a move to a familiar face. Amalea. "Good evening, Amalea." Elizabeth said with a cordial dip of her head.
Craven
Craven blinked, clearly surprised at that. "You seem so well minded, I couldn't imagine you having any difficulty adapting." She admitted. Craven's blue eyes scanned the crowds as they gathered and stepped a bit closer to the familiar woman. "I think it still makes me uncomfortable," with her sire's return, she relaxed a bit more and smiled in response as thanks as she took her drink, "I continue to remind myself that it's permanent. Can't fight it, especially given the alternative."
Indigo
was caught and surrendered with a telling smile. "He is right. Wasn't exactly weeks." She accepted the glass and raised it to the two.
Indigo
her eyes widened. "Oh, I had a few moments." Her gaze shifted to Adley. "And he was there to make sure it didn't go from bad to worse as a sire should."
Amalea
Having thanked the bartender for her drink, she turned to watch the crowd as she sipped the crimson liquid. Spying Azraeth and Flynn, together, again, she had to wonder when the pair was going to make it official. She returned Every's wave, noting she would have to talk to the woman later to arrange her dinner. Mordechai without his trademark duster or hat was a bit of a shock though she'd have to admit he looked good even without it. Spying Elizabeth coming her way, she smiled, "Good evening, Elizabeth."
Enver_Marshall
Enver ran a hand through his hair once that hand was released from the quick shake of Rikki's hand. "Probably the former, more than the latter." Enver admitted as he looked around to see his cousin who made him blink. It was unexpected to see her here, let alone wave, or wearing something like that..."Huh."
Azraeth
released the woman a moment later, so he could lean against Flynn's side. "A lovely night for everyone, I think. And there sure are a lot of people here. I've already made Flynn be social a lot this week so I may have to drag him off to dance at some point...that is one of the things they do at these things isn't it?" He asked.
Mordechai
A slight disturbance at the door cauught the killers attention, turning he froze, eyes taking in the shimmering black vision that appeared from under a cloak. Turning he followed it towards the bar as he reached out with his mind. "Greeting Ms Ariadne, allow me?"
Meara
was sort of shifting absentmindedly on her feet as she stood there kind of in the middle of most everything, but not really being here with anybody.
Kirill
had made a point of being pleased to join his sire to this particular event. An opportunity to dress his best, as well as a chance to possibly sow the seeds of a bit of chaos among an event held for the explicit point of trying to stabilize an uneasy and very tense situation that had fallen over the city they had all called home at some time or another. He glanced to the woman at his side as he entered with her, and offered her a nod. He didn't smile, his grin so rare that he wasn't sure that even his wife had seen it more than twice. He rolled his shoulders and let his steely gaze sweep over the rich interior of the casino, stepping closer to Every's side.

Elizabeth
"You look very nice this evening." Elizabeth added in politely, before glancing around. "I would suggest keeping ones money close. Those machines are dreadful at relieving one of their funds."
Mortll
laughed "Im sure a little *** wiggling will be in order even if its not we can make it so It would be a great just save a dance for me" She eyed Flynn and Az wondering exactly what was going on there then changed her mind she really didnt want to know.
Harrison
Harrison grinned at the conversation, and the look on Rikki's face. He knew that look well. "He's in the movies," he offered, assuming that simple fact would help Rikki to figure out where she knew Enver from. It had surprised Harrison, too, when he'd finally had wits enough to realise his life had been saved by a movie star. "If I keep him in check, it's probably the least I could do to repay him. And we're probably keeping you from your company," he said to Enver, watching as his sire's eyes drifted.
Mordechai
Slow nods of greeting met Doc, 'lea, Liz, and Every as he passed them.
Amalea
"Thank you. You look fantastic, yourself." She laughed softly, "I will do so. I have no desire to play the machines but I will be careful all the same." She paused for a moment, "Perhaps sometime this week you would be willing to set aside for a girl chat?"
Doc
"Good evening Lea.. Rose' for you? I am off to get Lizzie a Martini, I will get you some wine, as well.." Doc briefly help up a hand in a wave of recognition to Mordie. "You two catch up.. and I will be right back.." He moved through the crowd to the bar, and waited to to place his order.
Adley Reed
Adley shrugged. "I tried. We've been through a few scraped together he corrected. He didn't think he'd done all that well keeping Indigo from them, but instead joined her in them. They kept each other in check, most of the time, and quite often he didn't see Indigo as a childe.
Mordechai
One mammoth hand reached out to touch the shoulder of Mortll as he passed her, then locking eyes on Rikki, he he tryed to make a smile encouraging his newest hire. "Enjoying yourself?
Every
gave his arm a light squeeze, a reminder not to be a menace as she took in the Casino's appearance. Twice in a week, she came to support the endeavor and hoped she wouldn't have to do any more positive agreements with her cousin. It would potentially make her ill. She smiled to Mordechai, saying to her childe, "I've told you things have changed in your absence, Krill." She moved further inside, taking in those she recognized. Sometime ago, she'd never think this to have happen. Then again, they did have their day to day activities, didn't they?
Ariadne
sighed and politely excused herself mentally from Mord as she leaned on the bar next to Doc and signaled the bartender. "I know you've been avoiding me, and you have a date, so I won't keep you, but I hope that things go smoothly with your ex back in town." She slid an order for a white wine over to the bartender and waited, not meeting Doc's eyes. "I'd like to talk at some point. While I haven't been monitoring your phone, I haven't stopped tracking you. I never stopped..." She sighed and shook her head as her wine arrived. "I never stopped."
Azraeth
offered a grin to Mortll at this talk of *** wiggling. It was true. It wasn't like anyone was about to stop him from shaking his body parts if he so desired. "I will always save a dance for you." He said, right as Mordie passed by, a hand passing over Mortll's shoulder. He offered a pleasant nod to the man on his way by.
Amalea
"Good evening," she smiled at Doc as she waved slightly at Mord in greeting, "If it's not too much trouble, please?" She laughed as she turned to Elizabeth, "You two look wonderful together this evening. I'm glad you guys decided to attend,"
Meara
was fairly certain if she stood here long enough she might sort out whom was or had been attached to whom just from eavesdropping between glasses of wine. But shewas doing her best to not listen in as that was not the point of the party
Craven
"It's comforting to think he'd be here, if all else fails." She said, shifting her weight form one foot to the other. It felt weird without Lakenna near, she would admit. "But, my editor thought it'd be nice to have me come here. And I can't help but agree, even if I do think she thinks we run around in dark fashion all the time." She frowned.
Indigo
leaned against him as she nodded in agreement to what he said. "I have not made it easy but..." Her eyes sprakled as ashe added. "I do hope I have made it fun."
Freyja
slipped into the room without much pomp or glamour, as was typically her style. She made an effort at refraining an attempt at upstaging the event itself, a task she found more difficult than it should have been. The tall, statuesque Dane poured into the room like molten ivory, her movement fluid and graceful as a rolling mist wrapped in sheer black silk. Tall stiletto heels made a sharp click against the floor as she slipped inside, waving off Violet as she attempted to enter with her, as was her custom. She didn't wish to make a scene with the entourage tonight. Instead, she drifted along, standing a head taller than most, and much more than that for others. Piercing, icy blue eyes glanced from face to face, person to person, as she took inventory of the people she knew, didn't know, wanted to know, and wanted to avoid. She was sufficiently late, at this point. Arriving early was never her style.

Adley Reed
"I do think we've grown a lot since then," he said to both Indigo and Craven. "It's been a hell of a lot of fun, that's for sure. And Craven, you and your sister, Jericho too, can count on Indigo and I. We'll both be here, every step of the way..." he added. A heavy topic, really, considering the night's festivities.
Flynn
looked between Az and Mortll, expression twisting into something sour. "You can have all the dances you want, it might keep him from wanting to dance with me." Not that he had any intentions of denying the request when it happened. Still, the more that others wanted Az's attention on the dancefloor, the less Flynn would be one out there. That was acceptable. Maybe. Okay, so big maybe.
Doc
Doc looked at Ari, she wouldnt look him in eyes. ****. "Alright.. we can talk. And I haven't been avoiding you. I have been working and with Lizzie." He almost said more, but then he stopped. It wasn't the time or place. He turned to the bartender and placed his order for the wine, martini and his bourbon. He turned his attention back to Ari, "For what it is worth Ari.. I am happy you are out of seclusion. I am sorry I couldnt wait. I do not do well with absence." Turning back to the bartender, he took the small tray that held their drinks, and headed back toward Lea and Lizzie. Which was a feat harder than expected, while carrying a tray of drinks. He eventually made it, and with all drinks in tact. "Ladies.. your drinks..."
Indigo
smiled at the truth. "Agreed. No matter what. " Indigo was known to keep her word. It was what kept things functional in the expanding living space they all shared.
Elizabeth
Elizabeth smiled wide, then glanced around. "Charles invited me last minute. I did not know an event was even going on until a little over an hour ago, or so." She admitted sheepishly.
Azraeth
glanced sidelong at Flynn. Oh. He was so in for it. The vampire wasn't sure exactly what he was going to do, but he was for sure going to get back at his human. "Dancing can happen...after we go say hello to a few more people." He insisted before twisting in front of Flynn, arms curling around the man's neck to drag him closer, so he could peer into the depth of those green eyes. "Come on. I think I saw Lea over that way." He nodded in the blood thief's dirction.
Mordechai
"Azraeth", A final greeting before he rested one spiked NewRock on the bars boot rail. It felt almost instinctive to watch over the vision in black after the attacks on her, but he gave space, not wishing to intrude, turniing to the barmaid he inquired on the availability of a premium Arbor Vitae
Craven
She lifted her lips into another smile. "You were there when Lakenna and I needed you the most, Adley." She then looked up to Indigo, "And you have been there since we met, and I appreciate you both."
Kirill
gently pat the woman's hand as she slid her grasp about his arm. He turned to her and nodded again, feeling the phone in his pocket, the weight of it sufficient to remind him that it was there, if it weren't a constant presence in his mind. He cleared his throat as he glanced about the room again. Perhaps. Things are always changing. Nothing is ever the same. Not even us. He shrugged, and passed his free hand along his dark hair. The world is chaos. The things happening right here are enough to tell you that much.
Mortll
Smiled at Mordie her fingers went up brushing against his massive hand as it briefly rested on her shoulder. " Good Eavning Mordie " she nodded at the man and smiled." Flynn when are you going to dance with the Devil in the Pale Moonlight ?" glanced back at the man and winked
Amalea
Her eyes widened at Liz's admission. She herself had spent the better part of an afternoon getting ready; that the woman pulled that together in an hour was astounding. "Leave it to him to forget to mention it earlier," she laughed softly, "that just makes your look tonight even more impressive." She smiled at Doc as she took the offered drink, "Thank you. You look nice this evening as well."
Rikki
Her attention immediately returned to Enver, seeking out some sense of recognition. That was when it clicked. Blinking rapidly, she tried to keep the sudden feelings of awe in check. "Well, what ever the case, I'm happy to have finally met you. I'll be sure to ask Harrison for your best stories." When she had made the 'vampire' leap, she had done some research. While she had never known the name of his sire, she knew he had to have one. Noting the way that Enver's eyes drifted, she placed a hand on Harrison's chest, "Should we go see what they have at the bar?" He really only had one option, didn't he?
Enver_Marshall
Enver looked between Harrison and Rikki, wondering what their story was, but decided he would ask later. When they weren't in such a public place. "I hope you two enjoy yourselves. If you're brave and daring, I'm going to open a game later in the high stakes room." He chuckled, then moved over to where his cousin was. "Every." He said with a nod, before getting a shot in. "You look almost...human." He said with a grin, before clearing his throat, then looked at the male. "I don't believe we've met. I'm Enver."
Meara
turned and went back to the bar. she had already drained her wine
Elizabeth
When Charles returned with the drinks, Elizabeth took the offered drink and looked down into the drink. She swirled it around a little, before glancing to Amalea. "You are being most kind. The dress is not difficult to get into." She left the 'or out' part alone, simply opting to give Doc a knowing smirk.
Harrison
Harrison laughed when the connection was made; his smile had barely left his features. He and Rikki had spent time together, a few 'dates' here and there (though again, it had been unspoken) but nothing yet had been made official. Like any other male, he was clueless as how to proceed with these things. With Rikki's hand on his chest and Enver sauntering off to meet with other people, Harrison nodded. "Yes, sounds good," he said, slipping his arm through hers to lead them to the bar.
Doc
Doc gave Lea a cheeky grin, as he knew exactly what Lizzie was talking about. One strategic pull and the dress was going to be on the floor in a glorious puddle of silk. "Thank you.. but you and Lizzie are the show stoppers. And since I havent mentioned it..you do like stunning tonight Lea."
Flynn
wrinkled his nose at the prospect of talking to people, his social meter having hit its limit for the week. That wasn't to see he wouldn't grin and bare it, like always. The Paladin hummed as the vampire pulled him in, locked on that gaze. "Then, by all means...let's go say hello to Lea." Physically turning Az in the direction of the redhead, Flynn shot Mortll a smirk, "I dance with the devil every night."
Kirill
turned to Enver and gave the man a nod. He offered his hand, a more forward gesture than was usual for the big Russian, but this was the time and place for pleasantries. He tipped his head, though rather than speaking himself, the phone in his breast pocket spoke for him. A pleasure, to be sure. I'm Kirill, and it appears you already know my sire, Eve.
Azraeth
was being turned, and he very nearly stepped on Flynn's feet, as if intent on demanding the man take him that way. However, he beat back that notion, choosing instead to press a kiss against the mortal's jaw, only to slip back, taking Flynn's hand in his own, so he could lead him towards where Lea, Doc, and Elizabeth were talking. In passing, he gave Mortll a little wink. And when the pair finally arrived at their new destination, he stopped short to take in the red head's dress. "Well I do believe I'm being upstaged in the wardrobe department all over tonight. Lea, have you spotted what Flynn is wearing? I'm going to lose my mind by the end of tonight." He rambled as a greeting.
Enver_Marshall
"You could say that." Enver admitted with a nod of his head, before secretly going the invasive route to verify the claims of Every having sired Kirill. Once it was verified, Enver cleared his throat uncomfortably. "Well, I'll leave you two to it. Enjoy your evening, and drinks." He moved to meander around, trying to play the part of a good host as best as he possibly could.
Meara
ran her finger around the top of her now refilled glass as she continued to watch
Doc
Doc gave Az a nod, "Evening Az.. " he looked at the human with Az, "And friend.. " He motioned to Amalea, "In case you havent met, This is m.. Amalea.." he gestured to Lizzie, "This is Elizabeth, and I am .. Doc..Nice to meet you.."
Every
simply pressed her lips together in a light smile, resisting the instinct to tell him to **** off. Instead, Every sweetly said, "Not everyone has the time to try so hard to appear it, Enver." The brunette lifted her chin as Kirill answered, and clarified, "Unfortunately" in regards to knowing the allurist. At the mention of drinks, she tilted her head towards the area. "Thank you, Enver." The words felt odd in her mouth and she made a mental note not to say them again any time soon.
Rikki
With her arm wrapped around Harrison's, she took the time to take in a few of the faces scattered around the room on their way to the bar. "So, a movie star for a sire..." she said, though her tone was more questioning than anything. "That sure sounds like a story." If she was being honest, she wanted to know more about that part of his life. With that unspoken rift, it was like she only knew half of who he was. But, she wouldn't push, and chances were he knew that as well as she did.
Amalea
The red-head shook her head ever so slightly, "True, but choosing the right dress in so little time can be. And you've succeeded in that aspect." Turning to Doc, she smiled, "Thanks." She had to laugh at Azraeth's greeting, "I'll remember to knock if I come to visit." She paused as Doc introduced everyone before supplying the missing piece, "Doc, Elizabeth, this is Flynn."
Harrison
Harrison laughed. "Yeah. It was... well it was not far from here. The part of the river that runs through this city..." he said. A lot had changed since then, however, Enver's renovations having done wonders for the place. It was no longer derelict and deserted. "I ah... well, long story short, I drowned. And was attacked. And he gave me a second chance," Harrison said with a shrug. They'd reached the bar, and he held up a hand to indicate to the bartender that they were there, and waiting to oder.
Doc
Doc extended his hand to Flynn, to shake. He pondered making an riske' comment, but the ladies were present. "Nice to meet you Flynn.."
Kirill
nodded to the man once more, and gave him a gesture of thanks with his hand, the other offering his sire at his side a squeeze of her arm, sensing her unease. Thank you for your time. Perhaps we will see one another again before the evening is over. And like that, the man wandered away. He turned to the woman at his side and arched a brow. He gave a nod, in response to her indication that she'd like to make her way towards the drinks. He was fine with that, even if his selection was rather... limited, as it were. As he knew hers to be.
Elizabeth
Elizabeth was positive she had seen one of the males a time or two before, but as for the human at his side? She could not recall having ever met him. "Good evening, Flynn." Her attention shifted between Doc and Amalea in mild curiosity at what it was Doc could have, or might have said.
Freyja
idly sipped at a glass of wine that she had obtained for herself from... somewhere. She honestly couldn't remember where she had plucked the glass from, and she was hardly one to care. It was open season at the bar, and she was in full hunting mode. She gave the glass in her fingers a gentle tip, first one way and then the other, allowing the rich, red liquid to swirl about the slender flute of a glass as her eyes moved around the room. The longer she was there, the more she realized that she was quite out of touch with a lot of the social landscape of Harper Rock. That, she hoped, was soon to change with the broadening of her horizons into a more... physical expansion. She took a healthy drink from her glass, draining what was left before she gave a flick of her fingers, ordering another as soon as it touched the bar.
Craven
paused as she felt her phone going off from the bodice of her dress. The woman pausing before she gave an apologetic smile to both Indigo and Adley. "And I'm afraid I'm running late for a discussion with the man who has my car in repair." She paused to press a kiss to both her sire and Indigo's cheeks, "I'll see you two later on. Please have fun." She'd seen enough of what she needed for the magazine, what she already knew and slipped out.
Doc
Doc absently draped his arm around Lizzie's waist, unaware of the quizzical look she has given him. Doc was giving Az one of his, 'yea you're getting laid tonight looks'.
Enver_Marshall
Enver moved towards the bar to grab another drink at the bar, then moved around to...Mortll. "Hey, Mortll. How's it going tonight? You look...nice." She did, which surprised him.
Flynn
The fact that Amalea was with other people only made the Paladin wish he had taken the other route, and gone for dancing, first. And that was saying something. With his attention on the male, he followed each of the introductions with a nod to each of the, though Lea got a smile as well. "Evening, ladies. You both look lovely." With Doc's hand extended, he reached out to take it. Quick, firm, and painless. "Likewise." So, maybe his sociability had taken a bigger hit than he thought.
Mortll
watched the two men go over to the bar and join the group normaly Mortll would be right there in the middle of that crowd it was her crowd ... but not tonight she watched Elizabeth and Doc she turned and almost ran straight into Enver Marshall of all people "Ummm Hello Mr Marshall Thank you I would like to say Nice place here you have out done yourself its Extrodinary "
Every
crinkled her nose, telepathically stating, 'We're cousins' as if that would explain it all before she stepped off. "I'm sure we will. But, E is our host for this evening." As she carefully lead the way, Every looked around. "Good to see some things, like everyone enjoying a party, never changes regardless of the tension that has risen in our community." She admitted.
Adley Reed
Adley nodded to Craven; he watched her go, carefully making sure she was alright, before grinning at Indigo. "Shall we dance?" he asked, though it wasn't really a question. It didn't take much for him to whisk her out onto the dancefloor, the two of them moving like they were naturally made for each other.
Alaric von der
They'd brought a car to the event rather than taking public transport or walking; Alaric had only really started to get used to cars, and riding in them, but they were far preferable to the chaos of public transport. Though he supposed it didn't matter, given the chaos they were headed toward. An event, with people. At a Casino. He'd been warned of the lights and the noise but had been convinced that it was an event that he ought to attend. Humanity Week. He was an elder, roosting over a house of human family. He'd always been pro-peace. Had always hoped that the species could get along. And so he'd agreed -- at least loving that he could wear one of his beloved suits -- and entered with Aurelia at his side, a frown of concentration settled upon his weathered features.

Ariadne
turned her back to the bar and leaned casually while taking a quick sniff of her wine. It was tempting continue her course, but this was clearly not the place. Instead, she pulled her evening tablet out of her clutch and started tapping into someone's bluetooth...
Azraeth
offered a nod to Doc as the man greeted him. Seeing the other vampire reminded him, to an extent, of his brother Enzo. The two had been close at one point. Similar, in a way, to how Az thought of Enzo when he looked at Mortll. It was a bittersweet thing. "More than a friend for...a month tonight. A pleasure to see you, Doc and Elizabeth." He mentioned when he caught her name. He was sure he had seen her at the town hall meeting a few months back. 'Good instincts' He mouthed to Lea at her comment about knocking if she wanted to drop in. He had even noticed the slight hesitation in the introduction, though he decided to file that away for Future Az to untangle.
Azraeth
totally caught Doc's look. Understood it. Winked, and leaned into Flynn, the picture of innocence. "You're doing amazing." He whispered discretely to the Paladin.
Meara
had noticed Alaric come in. She gave him a small smile and a wave.
Elizabeth
Elizabeth looked down at the drink, still untouched, before she brought it to her lips and gave it a small sip for a sample taste. It was strong, but not as strong (she believed) as the usual choice in alcohol she had grown to like. "The pleasure is mine. Do either of you know the host?" Elizabeth did not, but it seemed as if Doc knew him.
Rikki
Drowned. That was the word she clung to, her brows creasing as they waited at the bar for the bartender, who was currently attending to another. Being a vampire, he had obviously died, that was a given. Now, she knew how, and she wasn't sure how to approach it. "From what I can tell, you seem to embrace that second chance..." she commented, though she had only seen Harrison a handful of times. And even then, how could she know when it wasn't discussed? As the bartender arrived, she ordered a glass of red wine and waited patiently for Harrison to order his...drink.
Kirill
nodded, moving alongside the woman as he offered a twitch of his lips. I wouldn't say that it's the same, you know. Faces coming together that would never have come together before. Topics being discussed in the open that, only months ago would have been simple whispers in dark corners of the room. Everything changes. You just have to actually look for the changes, sometimes. Some things are more subtle than others. He ran his tongue along his lips, then, and let his eyes move to where they were headed, rather than the continual sweep of the room that they had made almost since they had arrived. He lifted his free hand and tugged at the collar at his throat lightly. It is nice, though, his phone murmured from his pocket as they moved, to spend some time with you for a change.
Enver_Marshall
nodded his head, and glanced around. "Well, I'd love to admit it was all me, but I had a little help from a female friend." Enver admitted, glancing for Indigo, before looking back at Mortll. "Two times this week. I'm feeling honored, or privledged. But, I suspect the free booze brought a lot of people out tonight." Enver didn't have a lot of friends given his outlook on life with both vampires and humans, but he was alright with that.
Doc
Doc looked at Lizzie, and shrugged, "Not that I remember.. I know he is a movie star. I know he came out as a vampire.. a but an honest to god... 'yea we know each other'? No. I don't think so." He paused, then added, "Humanities week.. and I am running for office.. I need to be seen.. and if I can do it with you,.. Lea.. and Bourbon.. why the **** not? " He finished his drink.
Aurelia
The suggestion had been one that Aurelia made in hopes that it would be taken to politely. Given the living situation of the von der Marcks all under the watch of a vampire, after all, it was second nature to try to get along. She never saw the sense of being against the peaceful as long as they remained that way. "I have yet to make it out this way, so I'm glad that you agreed to accompany me." She lifted her hand to give his shoulder a squeeze. "I'm not going anywhere from your side, and if you need time, we can step out at your word." As she spoke, she kept her words soft as if not to add to his predicament. It wouldn't do well for him to become uncomfortable.
Aurelia

Harrison
Harrison stumbled. Rikki ordered her drink and though he opened his mouth to order one of his own, he had no idea what he should ask for. Your freshest, best blood? Nah, didn't sound right. So he just closed his mouth and waved the bartender away, leaving him to organise Rikki's drink. "I don't think anyone should treat a second chance unkindly," he murmured. "I'm glad you said you'd come. Despite... everything," he said, quietly.
Ariadne
perked up slightly as Alaric entered. The two had never met, but they had shared along night on a hill where he had been completely unaware of her presence, at least her presence as a vampire. Nerves held her back from introductions, especially since he had another with him, however if the opportunist presented itself...
Meara
decided to haul her petite frame up on to a bar stool to sit for a little. Green eyes wandered over to the woman, Ariadne, next to her that had stayed near the bar. "Um hi there. I really like your dress." She offered as a place to try to start conversation. She was starting to feel out of place with everuone else engrossed in their own conversations, and she sure as hell wasnt going to be interrupting.
Mortll
"Mr Marshall I dont drink ... well at least not booze." She glanced back at Doc then continued " Ive had to adjust my views alot lately things change what was good one time cant stay the same So here i am "
Elizabeth
nodded her head in an understanding sort of way. A strategic move for an end goal. "Well, we should continue to mingle then." Elizabeth suggested after another sip of her drink, her lips pressed to Doc's ear. "When one is ready."
Mordechai
slid his glass forward, and as it was returned full, dropped a bill next to it nodding to the barmaid. Tapping the bill, he pointed to Ariadne, then taking his glass wandered out among the flashing lights of the casino, mentaly tracing the wifi signals between the machines and there controlling computers before finally cjoosing one and taking a seat.
Alaric von der
Alaric noticed the wave from the bar; he was taking in everything, and everything was a lot. The walls up around his mind were strong, steely, impenetrable. But it was hard to keep them erect, when all he wanted to do was explore. If he did, he knew he'd be overwhelmed, however. One thing at a time. The wave belonged to a girl he'd met in a mall -- the one with the violin. He tried a smile, and a terse nod in her direction. She'd slipped up next to another woman, and Alaric turned to Aurelia. "Will you like a drink?" he asked. He was not sure what he should do next.
Flynn
cut his gaze to Az, and if it wouldn't have immediately given away his displeasure, he might have frowned. Instead, his expression remained passive. "It's been a month? Really?" Of course it had been a month, and he knew it as well as the vampire did. But, he could make the jabs when he needed to. He shifted his attention to Lea, then with a smirk. "Az did say you were in the neighborhood. I'll have to stop by when I get tired of him."
Amalea
Amalea smiled at Flynn, "Thanks. You guys don't look half bad yourselves." She wasn't about to mention her observation that they must have come from separate places. Chuckling softly at those mouthed words and Az's admission that they were more than friends - something she would have laid money on if she was a betting woman - she smiled at the pair, "Don't worry, Flynn, no one's likely to try to bite you tonight. Worse case, there's always a dance floor available that's perfect for avoiding people." She wasn't about to mention it had the added benefit of allowing for closer contact. At Liz's question, she turned slightly, "I don't know him well, but I've met him several times. He's a bit odd at times." She grinned at Doc's statement, "Sounds like a decent idea to me. Whoever said work and pleasure can't be mixed was wrong."
Enver_Marshall
"Shame. You're missing out." Enver commented before glancing around and then looking back at Mortll. "That same thing happened to me a few months ago." Enver commented in a dry fashion. "Change isn't always bad, but some change is a hard pill to swallow." He doubted their scenario was exactly the same, but it was the same thought process in the end.
Every
actually couldn't remember the last time she'd spent time with him. Was it the night he'd cornered her, demanding to be turned? Every tried not to think that hard. It was too long ago. "You're almost decent when the majority of the family isn't around." She teased, but she'd always appreciated Kirill's presence. The fact he'd stood up for her when her other childer had caused more mayhem than peace for her had helped her out more than she had could admit. It had stopped her from wanting to just pack p and leave. "We'll have to make it a point to try to more often. It's easier now, not having much to do. Finding another purpose." She lifted her hand, laughing as she motioned for him to duck lower. "Let me help with that?" She offered.
Doc
Doc knew Elizabeth was right, they should mingle, but he was actually enjoying himself, and the company he was in. Why would he want to leave it? Because he was running for office. He needed to suck it the **** up and be sociable. Inclining his head toward Lizzie, "Lady's choice, you choose.. where to.. or who to next?"
Amalea
She laughed lightly at Flynn, "Just tumble out his door and into mine, really. You're always welcome - sick of him or not."
Aurelia
"A drink would be nice, thank you." She said, watching him cautiously. She didn't see him as a frail old man, even if she did know how old he was. "I'm sure there's something you can manage here, as well, there usually is." She offered a smile, "Shall we?"
Freyja
idly checked her watch, before her gaze moved to the door, and then to her bag. She wasn't the sort to worry, but her childe was later than expected, and hadn't texted to let her know what was going on. She murmured to herself as she finished off another glass and set it aside, even as a fresh, full glass of wine was placed at her side. She was out of place here, in a world where she wasn't the consistent center of attention. She could count the faces she recognized on one hand. She strongly debated heading to check on one of her businesses, but was hardly one to retreat in the face of adversity. Even this sort. Instead, she maintained her dignity by striking up conversation with the bartender. That should keep her occupied for a short while, at least.
Elizabeth
Her mouth made a slight 'o' shape, having not expected to be put on the spot like that. "Well..." Elizabeth glanced around, finally spotting Alaric, who was busy. She smiled, pleased to see him here and out and about, before continuing her search. There. At the bar. "The blonde woman at the bar." Elizabeth suggested with a roll of her shoulders.
Doc
Doc nodded, "So let it be requested.. so let it be done!" He held his arm out to Lizzie in a chivalrous manner, "My Lady,.. " He gestured toward the bar, and the blonde by it. "You escort awaits your pleasure.. " Then he grinned a lopsided close lipped grin, "Besides ,, I need another drink.." Louder, "Make a hole people.. Lady coming though... "
Alaric von der
"I will not," Alaric murmured to Aurelia. Although he did wonder what the bar might offer, he had his doubts that there'd be the blood of animals. Most of his kind preferred their blood from humans. And Alaric would not slip. Still, he nodded, and led Aurelia to the bar. He let her order what she wanted, while he remained standing, observing the crowd. He'd seen Elizabeth; he returned her smile, but did not approach. He knew that the woman had her own life, and was busy living it.
Azraeth
picked up on the conversation between Doc and Elizabeth, something about running for office? "Well you certainly have my vote." He commented. Assuming vampires still had a vote by the time elections rolled around. He was hopeful though. Things like Humanity Week might end up...shifting the proverbial tide. "Why thank you, Lea. I'm glad that someone noticed my carefully put together ensemble." He said, trying to school his expression so he didn't smile too broadly at the slight jab at Flynn. However, he was unable to mask the shift in his gaze when the man mentioned getting tired of him. "Still, it's good to be here tonight. You're enjoying yourself, Lea?
Kirill
did as she asked, and leaned down to allow her easier access to the item of her attention. He gave a slight nod at her suggestion, though. Indeed we will. I might not have told you often before, but I do, in fact, enjoy your company. Even if I spend half of the time you grace me with it giving you hell. He let his steely blue eyes move to her as he lifted a brow. It's as close as my best of friends get to affection. He shrugged a shoulder and tipped his chin back.
Rikki
Rikki chewed at the corner of her lip as Harrison fumbled with the possibility of a drink order, but for his sake, she didn't mention it. She might have taken the chance to watch the bartender go about getting the wine, but Harrison held her full attention and his quiet words only made her take one step closer to place a hand on his cheek. "Despite nothing. I'm glad you asked me to come. I like spending time with you," she assured him, only breaking away as the glass of wine was set before them. Clearing her throat, she took it in hand and once again smiled up at companion. "Besides, I won't hesitate in saying that I don't think I see enough of you."
Elizabeth
linked her arm through Doc's and then laughed and shook her head. "You just wish to get to the bar faster." She teased him, as they made their way through the sea of people and to the bar where a tall woman sat by herself. "Good evening." Elizabeth offered to Freyja, a warm smile upon her features, as she continued. "I am Elizabeth and this is Doc."
Ariadne
glanced at the young lady who sat herself next to her. "I... thank you. It's a Fenty Baudelaire Parke gown. Also, I'm Ariadne." She'd hardly had time to process the interaction when Alaric and his friend came over. She felt her chest tighten and the room suddenly seemed yards smaller as her anxiety came creeping up her spine. Nevertheless, she nodded to Alaric and his companion.
Mortll
"Im going to say something that you proabably dont hear very much Mr Marshall but you were right to a extent ... i dont agree with you totaly I mean who ever can see eye to eye on everything but Ive adjusted my views on the human / vampire condition a lot ... I cant say it was due to you but to Enzo and Amalea. but i do want to give you your due and admit that you were preaching it long before anyone else was ."
Enver_Marshall
Enver stopped sipping his whiskey and stared at Mortll with his jaw agape. Then, he raised a hand and lightly slapped his right cheek. Was he dreaming the event was happening before it happened? "Well, no credit is needed to be given. I've just stuck with what I've believed in, Mortll." He pinched his cheek too, before clearing his throat. "And whoever changed your mind, doesn't really matter. What matters is it's been changed and what you're going to do with the new mindset." Enver asked, rhetorically.
Aurelia
"It doesn't hurt to look." She gave a soft chuckle, looking around and lifting a hand to rub at her barearm. She'd left her jacket in the car, not wanting to deal with remembering to pick it up. Her gaze scanned the faces surrounding them, trying to decipher whether or not they were all there, physically, and not on a spiritual plain. Her gaze moved to the bartender as they arrived, "A whisky sour, please." The request was made and she gave her thanks both to the bartender and Alaric. The woman overheard the designer, adding, "It is a very lovely gown, you have beautiful taste. You both do." Aurelia offered a smile, turning back to Alaric, "You've never been in a Casino, correct?"
Harrison
They had a moment, then. With her hand upon his cheek and her genuine words sinking in, Harrison could only smile. The worries he'd had were small, but they were vanquished, now, never to return. "Perhaps we should remedy that, then," he said. His attention was focused solely on Rikki, too. He'd focus only on her, and on people he knew. And he didn't know anyone else besides his sire. If Rikki were to talk to someone, he would talk to them too -- but he would, at all costs, avoid the circumstance whereby he might accidentally speak to a spirit that no one else could see. "Maybe tonight can be our first official... date?" he inquired, sheepishly.
Doc
Doc nodded politely to the blonde (Freyja) as Lizzie introduced them, and then he strategically gestured to the bartender he needed a three finger bourbon... stat. Then he smiled, his polite closed lip smile, it was a habitual type of smile, as he had permanent fangs. "How do you do? I hope you are finding the evening enjoyable?"
Meara
gave a some what relieved smile. "Sounds designer...." And super expensive, the redhead mused."That's a lovely name. I'm Meara, and I'm wearing one of my own creations." She commented with a hint of a smile before she turned around. "Hi Alaric! Good to see you."
Amalea
"Well, I'm sure others noticed," she smiled cheekily, "They're just intimidated." Amalea winked at the male-dominated couple as Doc and Liz headed off. "I'm happy to see such a strong turnout this evening, honestly. Though I'm a bit surprised no ones made it to the dance floor, yet."
Freyja
laughed quietly at something the woman behind the bar had said, offering a slow shake of her head as she pushed her empty glass towards the woman, in exchange for another, fresh glass. She was drinking quite a lot, quite quickly, and the evening had only just begun. Her head, however, had only just begun to feel the slightest touch of the drink, and she had decided that was a good a moment as any to slow down. Instead of draining the glass this time, she took a quick sip before she was spoken to. She turned at the sound of the woman's voice, and she offered a brilliant kilowatt smile to the beautiful Elizabeth and her dashing companion she introduced as Doc. "Doc. Elizabeth. It is a pleasure to meet you both! I'm Freyja." She hadn't had to introduce herself in so long, the entire procedure felt... clunky. Awkward. She lifted a hand and pushed a sheaf of long, golden hair over her shoulder. "I am thoroughly enjoying myself, yes. Thank you. It's nice to see so many people turning out for a cause."
Flynn
opened his mouth to protest the notice of the outfit, since he might have said something...had they not almost immediately been intercepted by Mortll, and then gone straight to Lea. Maybe, just maybe, he preferred some things stay between them. Rather than voice it, he shut his mouth with a none too subtle huff. While the two were conversing, the human shifted behind Az just enough so that he could use the man's shoulder as a chin rest, arms wrapping around his waist. "Don't give him more ammunition to drag me out there, Lea..." he sighed, especially if it meant them being the first ones. That was just going too far.
Alaric von der
Alaric caught the nod from the woman who was, supposedly, wearing a designer gown. The concept of a designer gown was lost on him -- and he was completely oblivious to the fact that his suit, too, was designer. He did not think he had met the woman before -- unless he'd seen her at the meeting he'd attended with Elizabeth, a few months back. He couldn't recall all the faces that he had seen, then. The nod was returned, gaze lingering upon her features before he turned to Meara and smiled. "Hallo, Meara. This is Aurelia..." he said, introducing his... what? Great-by-a-hundred grandchild? He left that part out.
Alaric von der
He turned to Aurelia and shook his head. "I have not been to a Casino. It is very loud..."
Meara
slid off her stool and gave a small curtsie. "Nice to meet you."
Azraeth
felt arms slip around his middle, and he let go of a single strand of tension which had built up, thin as spider silk between his shoulder blades. He turned his head just enough to drag his lips across Flynn's exposed cheekbone. "Oh. He noticed." He whispered, loud enough for Amalea to hear. "And you know, Flynn, I suppose we could go and meet everyone else here. Or...we could dance. I mean I will leave the choice to you, my handsome lover." He said, cutting a look to Amalea that said he was totally going to get his way.
Elizabeth
"Freyja." Elizabeth dipped her head politely, before stealing a glance to Doc. "What a unique name." She commented, before agreeing. "Yes, it is good to see people gather for a good cause." She looked at the drink of Doc's then at him, before finishing her own and setting it on the bar's counter. "What did you think of the other events, if you went to any of them, that is..." Elizabeth asked the woman curiously.
Doc
"Agreed.//
Doc
"Agreed." he politely intoned, as he gestured again to the bartender, to refill the ladies drinks, as he collected his. He slid his credit card to cover the tab. "Apologies.. Freyja was it? Nordic isn't it? I believe.. Friday was named after your namesake.. yes?"
Every
lifted her hands to loosen his bow tie so that it wouldn't cause him much more discomfort. Afterwards, she flicked the underside of his neck just to be a bit of a pain, because why not? "I think it's a little more than half the time, to be fair." She frowned, thinking about it, "And to be fair, you're actually the only childe of mine by blood that hasn't made me want to put a bullet into them." The latter bit was muttered due to the reason behind the event, but she lifted her lips anywho into a smile before she moved to collect a drink for the two of them, vampire friendly.
Ariadne
felt her attention sharpening as she watched Alaric. The guards around his mind were strong, which she respected for the time being. There was a sense of discomfort from him which mimicked her own, though she wasn't sure if he shared her own general aversion to crowds or if it was something else. Pulling her concentration inward for a moment, Ari shifted discreetly for just long enough to produce several large owl feathers, which she pulled from her hair and placed on the bar in front of Alaric.
Mordechai
Mordechai decided that enough money had gone into the machine. As he slipped in another token, he gave a soft mental push at the etherial packet of informations sliding along the strands of the wifi web before giving one more pull of the lever, leaning back as the lights began to flash, and tokens rolled into the tray. The killer had no need of winnings, and as the tokens rolled to a stop slightlyt higher than the amount he had wagered, he swiped them into the small provided bucket.
Meara
let her gaze glance between Ariadne and Alaric before coming to rest on the feathers. "How did you do that!" She exclaimed with surprise. Her very youthful appearance was matched by a youthful curiosity and eagerness for most hings
Amalea
Amalea shook her head in amusement at the couple before her. They were incredibly adorable and she was thrilled that they looked happy together. She had to giggle at Az's initial comment though she was amused by it all. "You know, the simple solution would be to fill his dance card up in advance," she winked at Flynn. "It's not that bad, really."
Rikki
With the wine glass having been lifted to her lips, it partially succeeded in hiding the ridiculous way her smile seemed to grow at the possibility of this being their first official date. As she lowered it, she managed to school her expression into something a little less schoolgirl, even if there was no hiding the sparkle of joy in her eyes. "I'd like that." She had only basically thought about it since day one, but that was a story for another time. Maybe official date number two. "On...one condition..." she suddenly said, growing serious as she sought out the man's hand. "It doesn't have to be tonight...but...you be honest with me about it? Nothing left unspoken?"
Freyja
gave a nervous smile at that question, and she shook her head. "That is a point of embarassment for me, actually," she murmured as she worked a lock of her hair around a slender digit. "I've a very personal bias against a certain group of humans. I was... concerned about my proximity to theirs, considering the nature of what we are trying to do here." She chuckled lightly and shrugged a slender shoulder. "I've had a friend or two check in on the events, however, to let me know how things went. I decided it would be best if I showed my support at least during one of these events." She smiled brightly, then, at Doc's intellectual insight into her name. "Indeed it was, and yes, it is. My family is very proud of our nordic roots."
Alaric von der
At first, Alaric was confused. He wasn't bothered by how the woman had done it - pulled the feathers from her hair. And at first he had no idea what kind of feathers they were. Slowly, however, he started to piece the puzzle together. The nod, the look she gave him like she knew him, when he did not know her. The feathers, which belonged to no ordinary bird. Eventually, the frown slipped from his face to be replaced by something akin to both awe and... embarassment? He knew that vampires could shift into animals (though it was one particuliar ability had not the skill to use) and hadn't even fathomed that he could have been speaking to one without knowing. Now, he wondered. Meara had bounced, and Alaric was instead entranced. "...you...?" Not the most eloquent question, but it got the point across.
Aurelia
"von der Marck." She finished her full name, but the title of to her distant relation to Alaric was left at her name. She knew Judah likely had a family tree somewhere, but the branches didn't change family. It never had for her, especially growing up with many cousins and her younger sister. She was given her drink a few moments later, Aurelia stepping away and taking a sip from her glass. It was strong, causing her to cringe before she took another sip. She'd have to trade off with something to ease the taste later. Rum, perhaps. "I think this century is louder than it had been in the past, but this is the nicer casino to the others. More personal, too, it seems." She turned the glass closer to her chest, smiling at the curtsey. It was something she hadn't seen done in a while. "It's a pleasure." She greeted the other woman, and then grew briefly confused as she heard the question from her, for lack of better term, grandfather. "Who?" And looked up at him.
Doc
Doc gave Lizzie a playful 'yay me' look; before smiling at Freyja. "Who doesn't love the Nordic? Thoroughly handsome people. A race that truly exemplifies survival of the fittest. No room for shirkers there.. " He collected his new drink, finished it, and pointed for another one, "And the blood eagle.. the one who came up with that.. I bet no one questioned his authority after that."
Kirill
took his glass from her and gave her a tip of his head, returning the flick to his neck with a tug of her dress at the shoulder. Recently, you mean. I remember a time you would have killed someone to put a bullet in me. He twitched his lips at the memories, and placed a hand on her shoulder with a nod. It's been a long time that we have known one another. It is only natural that your murderous tendencies waned with becoming accustomed to my antics. He nodded, and tapped at his bowtie. Thank you.
Meara
waved her hands and shook her head. "Not me. I didn't do it."
Harrison
Harrison had no glass to hide his own grin. It was there for all the world to see, and he didn't care, either. Rikki's features soon grew completely serious, however, and Harrison's followed suit. His hand squeezed hers. "It...?" he asked. "You mean... about our date? Or... about...being a, y'know," he said, giving a half shrug of his shoulder. A vampire. It was such a common thing these days, why did he struggle to say the word? She was human, he was not. But why should that get in the way of anything? Regardless, he nodded. "Honesty is the best policy, whatever the reason for it..."
Elizabeth
"I think that is a wise move. Even if one does not agree with an event, it does not hurt to attend it to garner information." She glanced at Doc's finished drink, then saw him order another. Her refilled drink remained on the bar, as she frowned a little. Slowly, her thoughts pressed against Doc's. Is everything alright, Charles?
Flynn
tightened his hold around the vampire, as if to pull him closer and simeltaneously let him know that the Paladin didn't appreciate the choices he was being given. And Az knew exactly what he was going to choose. That was the worst part. Letting out a long, drawn out sigh, he managed to nod against that shoulder. "You already know I'm going to choose dancing over talking to people..." Lifting his gaze to Amalea, he considered her words and then smirked. "Remind me of that for the next time? I will make sure to fill his card with your name."
Mordechai
With a grace that belied his size the seven foot eight inch vampire slid through the crowd setting the buchet down before Rikki, "Enjoy, but dont be late for work" Turning back into the crowd he passed through once more before finding a seat along the wall.
Every
huffed at him lightly. "Only when you are a nuisance. And then you stood up for me." She shrugged her shoulder, as if it explained everything. She then rolled her eyes, it wasn't something she could really surpress. But still, the smile on her lips showed that she didn't mind it too much before taking a sip from the glass she held, stepping away from the table and then taking in the sounds of the casino. Perhaps she'd come back another day after this, give it the proper time to play and gamble away a few hands in poker. She'd always enjoyed it. "You're welcome."
Ariadne
glanced at Meara. "I am extremely talented..."
Meara
sort of deadpanned at the other woman. "Well yes, I can tell. But howww."
Doc
Doc showed no reaction as Lizzie sent him a telepathic message, he replied inkind ~I am not socially adept. I force myself to be social. The drinking gives me something to do, while I .. socialize~
Ariadne
gave her wine another sniff and shrugged her uncovered shoulder slightly in response to Alaric. "Me. I like trees."
Azraeth
could feel those arms tightening around his middle, and he took that as the perfect invitation to press into Flynn's chest. "Oh, Mr. Ryder. You won't be able to get rid of me that easily. Even if I'd be completely happy sharing an evening of dancing with Amalea. In fact, I may have to invite her over one night for some Dance Dance Revolution. It'd be even better if you were there." He insisted, before twisting slowly, so he could curl his own arms around the Paladin's shoulders, even though it totally dislodged the mortal's chin. "Now. Are we going to find that dance floor or are we going to dance right here? I think we both know it doesn't matter to me."
Freyja
laughed lightly, and gave a quick nod of her agreement. "Indeed, we are! I'm hardly modest about the great blessings of my genetics." She chuckled, the sound light and airy as she took a healthy sip from her fresh drink. She leaned against the bar and gave the both of them a smile, before she answered Elizabeth. "I thought so, myself. Knowing more about the groups that were present allowed me to come a little better prepared." She ran her hand through her hair and turned to Doc, then, their telepathic exchange lost on the Allurist. "And that, good sir, is a beautiful bit of the history of violence. The mind that would come up with something so deliciously brutal... I would have enjoyed very much to have met them in person." She chuckled, and took another sip from her glass before she set it next to her. "What about the two of you? Have you been to many of these events this week? I'm afraid I don't recognize either of your faces."
Rikki
She gave Harrison an exasperated look at even suggesting the conversation involve discussing the date, but it was only half-hearted. She was still too excited with the new development to get be bothered with the details of the vampire 'thing.' Just as she opened her mouth to reply, her giant of a boss passed by and her eyes widened. Her? Late for work? As if. "Uh..." she blinked, trying to bring her thoughts back up to speed. "Yes, the part of your life I know almost nothing about. If...and only if...you are willing to share them with me." Because, what good was starting any form of a good relationship on demands?
Alaric von der
Alaric did not know if this was the time nor the place to question the woman, though he did take the feathers between his fingers. The question he'd asked he assumed to be too subtle. You? You who? Perhaps it was nothing at all, and he was only imagining things. The feathers were an outlier. They were soft, silken; he dragged his fingers along them, enjoying their texture. He shook his head as Aurelia peered at him curiously... only for the woman to then reply. "I am sorry," he said to her. "If I had known..." he shook his head. Had they been introduced? He did not think so. He was remiss. He held out a hand. He'd been told women were more equal to men in this day and age, and should be greeted as such. "I am Alaric von der Marck."
Mortll
"Well Mr Marshall i think im going to still go for self survival It seems though that self survival means getting along with humans. But it also means protecting them and i have been doing that in my own way i guess Since you raised the subject of territories the other night. I did not think it approperiate to disscust it there with you at that time but maybe we could get together and discuss it sometime when its more suitable " She smiled at him
Elizabeth
Elizabeth decided to leave the drink alone and link a set of her fingers with Doc's to give him a reassuring squeeze. "I attended one event, briefly. Until I lost a great deal of funds to that machine there." Elizabeth pointed at the scoundrel.
Amalea
Amalea was content to watch the pair as she sipped her drink; they were cute together. She smirked back at Flynn, "I'd have no issues with that. I can think of worse ways to spend a night." Laughing at Az's comment, she shook her head lightly in amusement, "I've never played, but you always know how to find me." Looking at Flynn, she smiled encouragingly, "It's not that bad, Just think of it as a way to get closer to him in a completely socially acceptable way."
Harrison
Harrison blinked as the large man placed a bucket of chips down in front of Rikki, and then meandered away. She did not mention him, or who he was, instead focusing on the previous point of conversation. "Yes," he nodded. "Okay. But not here, I agree," he said. If she wanted to know everything about him, it was probably best to tell her somewhere... not in the middle of a crowd. And not on their first date. "Now. Although I don't particularly agree with gambling, should we go see if you're my lucky charm?" he asked, looking at the chips Rikki had just been given then gesturing to the Casino at large.
Enver_Marshall
Music was heard in his head. Something close to the Twilight zone as Mortll kept talking. He looked at her, dumbfounded. "Ahh, sure. Absolutely." Maybe Mortll had been drinking a lot before he engaged her in a conversation. That made more sense than the 180.
Kirill
nodded at her, before tipping his head to one side with a sip from his glass. Being a pain in your *** is half my job as your creation. He leaned closer to her, and lifted a brow. Even if it was by my own choice. He shrugged a shoulder, and let his eyes roam across the room again. She didn't have to explain. He remembered the incident she mentioned. He wouldn't forget anytime soon. If ever. Few things riled him as much as disturbing those that mattered to him. The woman next to him was one of those few.
Doc
Doc really wanted to tell Freyja that he was well acquainted with the Blood Eagle as he had stalked, kidnapped and blood eagled a guy in the Quarantine Zone. But .. he rolled his eyes,.. that was not conducive to politics or positive votes. So Doc remained silent on that subject, "I did attend one or two.. but the turn out has been high and positive.. so it is not surprizing we didint run into each other." He gave Freyja a sheepish look, "And I can be single minded.. when i am on a mission..." Though he didnt react to it, he did note an realize that Lizzie had been at the event a few nights earlier and he had not seen her there.
Ariadne
stared at the offered hand briefly, having to remind herself that social niceties were to be observed in public, before she took said hand with a firm, yet gentile grip. "Don 't be sorry. I found it to be extremely diverting. Ariadne Grayson."
Every
chuckled, "You're a pain in the ***, but you're a good man, Krill." She admitted, "And even if it weren't your choice, I would have tried to turn you for pulling a knife on me when I was weak anyway." She lifted her bare shoulder in a shrug as she contemplated on what the two could do next. Chatting and drinking could only be so much of the evening, but at least they were together.
Alaric von der
Diverting, she said, and if Alaric could have flushed he might have. He was trying to remember all that he had said to the owl in the tree; it should have occurred to him, then, that it wasn't normal for an owl to just hang around whilst being spoken to. An owl might have flown off as soon as he'd made himself known to it. The elder laughed. He'd have to try to explain this to Aurelia later. "It is good to meet you, Ariadne Grayson." What more could he say?
Flynn
lifted his chin as his partner began to turn, though the hold on his waist never loosened. He was momentarily distracted by the idea of Dance Dance Revolution, picturing the other two going head to head. "I think you could take him, Lea. You have my bet. Though, I don't need an excuse to get closer, socially acceptable or not." he said with a wink over in her direction, only for his attention to almost immediately shift back to the vampire in his arms. His eyes narrowed in consideration for the two options presented to him. Either way, they were dancing. In one instance, they were surrounded by others and the other, they were relatively alone. With a gesture out toward the room, he gave the man a small grin. "Lead the way."
Aurelia
Confusion and curiosity were obvious across Aurelia's features as the human woman looked between the two vampires. It was nice though, seeing that Alaric seemed to recognize the woman from somewhere. She knew he often got out of the estate often enough, but she didn't want to think that he never got away from the family. That wouldn't be fair for him, now would it? The smile she hid behind her glass was large, pleased that the elder was enjoying himself despite the technology and noise surrounding him.
Freyja
gave a light, tittering laugh at Elizabeth's plight and gave a shake of her head at the woman's poor fortune. She hoisted her half-empty glass and gave it a gentle shake of emphasis. I learned a long, long time ago that drinks and gambling are a horrible combination. I lost a fortune in Vegas, and my father was liable to skin me alive." She smirked, then, and sipped from her drink. "One of the few times I was thankful my mother was such a whore." She laughed, and shrugged a shoulder. She turned to Doc and nodded her understanding. "I didn't attend in person, so that only increases the likelihood that I wouldn't have seen you." She leaned closer, then, and gave them both another smile. "And I can understand a single-minded sort of determination. When your sights are set on something, it can make the rest of the world seem... almost trivial, sometimes. Depending on your focus."
Meara
suddely felt like an interloper on a more private conversation again. She rubbed at the back of her neck awkwardly before turning to Aurelia. "So do you go out to parties like this a lot?"
Mordechai
settled his glass on small shelf before him, then drawing the wisps of shadows from the cornwes, took one last look about before slipping from the casino
Kirill
saw the woman's unrest as she glanced around the room, and he nodded his head as he finished off his glass. You would have tried. I would have stopped you. This only happened because I wanted it to. At that, he gave her a small smirk, and lifted his hand to gesture toward one of the tables. Perhaps we should find ourselves a seat at one of these tables here. Find some entertainment for the evening.
Rikki
As if she just now realized just what it was that Mordechai had done, she looked at the bucket of chips and a mischievous grin took over her face. "I'm not sure how lucky I am, but we should definitely go and see. Remind me to thank Mordechai. Who...is my boss, by the way. I'm sort of his apprentice." And she definitely appreciated the gesture. She would have to do something nice for him tomorrow. With her hand still locked with Harrison's she glanced around the Casino and their various options to place their bets. "What's your poison? Cards? Roulette?" Gambling wasn't exactly her forte, so hopefully Harrison knew more about it than she did.
Amalea
Amalea smiled softly at the couple, "Thanks." She paused, "I'd expect not, but, it's still a reason," she winked as she laughed lightly. Her tresses shook lightly as she watched them head off to dance before turning her attention to the rest of the casino to see who else was present that she knew.
Azraeth
glanced back over his shoulder to Lea as Flynn mentioned that she could probably take the vampire. It...well. It wasn't unture. "See you around." He murmured to the red head before he finally pulled away from Flynn, even though it briefly meant slipping away from that enticing warmth. His hand flattened on the human's chest, slowly following the line of a tie until he was able to grasp the end, twisting it in his hand. "Now tell me, lover, about this 'tiring of me' you mentioned earlier." He said as he gave the faintest jerk, pulling Flynn in the direction of the room set aside for dancing. Of course. The question itself was hushed, and designed to get only to his ears. "Because I have a few thoughts on that." Of course, his grin itself never faltered. In fact, his teeth seemed to always be on display when he was around the other man. It didn't take them long at all to pass the crowd of people, the sound of music growing louder.
Doc
Doc looked at Freyja, he managed to keep that look of sheer unadulterated 'what the ****?' from showing when she talked about her mother in such terms. Sure Doc hated his own mother, but even he wouldn't stoop so low as to call his mother a whore, in public. "Right... " He looked at Lizzie with a 'can we ******* move on?' look.
Harrison
"His apprentice?" he asked. "Does he work at an observatory...?" he asked, though he doubted Rikki would be anyone's apprentice when it came to the stars. She would be the master. And Mordechai didn't look like a scientist, though one shouldn't be judged by their looks. "I don't really have a poison. Poker, though. I've played some poker in my life..." he said, meandering through the tables until they found a game they could join.
Aurelia
turned her attention from Alaric and the woman named Ariadne to Meara, giving her head a shake. "I don't, no. I probably should, but I was a bit more orientated towards work for the longest time before returning home to Harper Rock. It's nice here tonight, good to see everyone getting along." She said, looking around before she then looked at the other, "What about yourself?"
Elizabeth
Elizabeth took what Freyja said about drinking and gambling to heart. She had not been drinking that night, and was glad for it. Who knew how much more money she would have lost before Elizabeth grew smart and walked away from the enticing machine. She caught the look from Doc, and then smiled once again to Freyja. "It was very nice to meet thee, Freyja." Elizabeth had a strong opinion about her mother too, but had never stated as bold of thoughts as the woman had. Did she envy the ability, or was she appauld by it? "I do hope you enjoy your evening, and find what you are looking for, Freyja." Elizabeth pulled at Doc's fingers with her own, leading him away from the bar. "You did very well." She commended him, as she came to an adrupt stop and turned to face him. "the offer to leave at any time begins now..." She offered, wondering if he would want to stay, or leave at first chance.
Every
knew there was no issues that could arise for this evening, but perhaps it was the trouble she'd been dealing with regarding her uncle that had her uneasy. She dismissed it, decided to ignore it, for the evening. "You say that when you cornered me during the full moon. You haven't tried during any other night of the year and speak confidently that you could." She smirked, "We both know you had been working on your timing to get me at my weakest." She pinched her childe again before nodding, "That would be fine with me. Lead the way."
Kirill
was brash on the subject of her mother. It was an enmity that ran rather deep between the two of them for longer than she could remember and she was hardly one to apologize for it, though she could see that it made the man uncomfortable. She pushed her glass aside, then, and sat upright. The excessive drink hadn't helped with keeping her manners in check, either. That was a definite sign she should keep the glass where it was at. Out of her hand. She offered them both a smile and nodded at Elizabeth's words. "Likewise, Elizabeth. Doc." She turned to the man and gave a moderately apologetic smile for making the man uncomfortable, and then let her gaze return to the door. She only grew more conscious of how late it had become, and that only made her worry all the more.
Kirill
Derrrrrrp. x_x ))

Meara
gave a soft shrug. "I'm still getting used to it here and I've been here a year, truth be told. I'm finding making friends very hard. But I do try to go to the events. Even if I feel like I am stuck out like a sore thumb most of the time."
Ariadne
gently patted Alaric's hand and smiled. "No worries. It's nice to meet you, Alaric. I don't think I've ever seen you around before, though I get the impression you're not at all new here?"
Doc
Doc gave her hand a squeeze, "You are a woman after my own heart." He started making their way through the crowd to the exit. "And if you had not interceded, I could have very easily ruined my shot at getting elected. As much as .. I understand how parents can let someone down.. being so vocal in a negative manner.. is repugnant to me." He stopped their progress to the exit. "Thank you for your timely interjection. Really."
Alaric von der
"I am, and I am not new," he said. But then, he had been 'back' for quite some time. He shook his head. "It has taken time to learn to be in such places, with as many people, without being overwhelmed," he said. It was not too much information, given when he had already inadvertantly revealed to the woman-owl. "My family, they try to get me out of the house more," he said with a smile in Aurelia's direction.
Elizabeth
Elizabeth slowly shook her head as her lips formed a small smirk. "Perhaps my suggestion was given for selfish reasons. You did make a promise after all..." Elizabeth reminded him, as she raised the hand that was linked to hers to her lips to press a firm kiss at his knuckles. WHile she knew Doc was good for his promise, she would rather it be taken as her playful side desiring to leave, than his need to leave. "Shall we?" She asked, relinking their fingers together.
Aurelia
inclined her head, "And how is that? You seem sweet." She frowned, then again, she couldn't talk. Had it not been for cousins, her tendency to stare off into space or argue with herself at times - when in reality, arguing with a dead man or woman, made it difficult. "We're all a bit of a sore thumb at times. All it takes is the right direction of conversation, nothing forced." She smiled, looking up at Alaric once more as she heard him speak. She returned the smile, "And see, I wasn't incorrect in nudging you out of the house." She teased, looking back to Meara.
Flynn
didn't bother to try and resist the tugging, even if he did feel a bit like a dog on a leash while in the process. With those hushed words, he couldn't help the smirk that made its way to his lips, seeing as something had clearly gotten under the vampire's skin enough to make him hold onto a statement like that. "Thoughts, hm? And what thoughts are those, pray tell?" he asked with a hum, though it sounded a bit more like a growl in his chest. And once they reached the room for dancing, he closed that little bit of distance between them, a hand on either hip. "Depending on your thoughts, I may grow tired of you sooner than you think."
Enver_Marshall
Mortll left Enver standing there, suspicious of the woman's real, true intent. Since he acknowledged they could meet up sometime and talk whatever she wanted to talk about (supposedly) Enver decided to mosey away from the woman before tonight got any more ******* weird.
Alaric von der
Perhaps Aurelia was not wrong, no, Alaric would begrudgingly concede. He did get out of the house, though he did not often do so with the intention of socialising. His sole contact outside of the family had been Elizabeth -- whom he would have said goodbye to, had he not been distracted -- and now here he was. There was Meara, young but bright. And now, Ariadne, whom he would like to get to know a little better.
Meara
shrugged as she glanced over to Az, Flynn and the whole crew as she started to talk. "I don't really know. People seem content to stick to their own I think." She patted at the tulle of her dress. "But I can't force anyone to include me yanno?" I'm just bubbly little me."
Doc
"Absolutely.. I can envision all sorts of .. issues arising from your gown.. if you had no help.. ' he gave her a mock horrified look, "You could be trapped forever.. No. It is my duty .. to see that you are fully cared for." He gave her a wicked look, "trust me..."
Ariadne
frowned. "I used to have someone who helped pull me out of the house. Socializing can be difficult if one lacks the proper motivation."
Meara
nodded her agreement with Ariadne's words.
Rikki
She nodded her head at the question as to being the giant of a vampire's apprentice, but she quickly clarified on just what that meant. "No, he definitely no astronomer. He...is actually a weapon smith. Teaching me the ways of the forge. Granted, I'm only just beginning how to use any of them, but...he's a good teacher." Her steps mirrored his while he sought out a poker table, tapping a finger against her wine glass now in worry at having said anything about it. Was Harrison one of those non-violent types, despite being a vampire? Once they found a table, she couldn't help the small bounce in her step from excitement. "Well, Mr. Harrison. Let's see how well you make your bets, shall we?" she asked with a playful grin and a challenging rise of her eyebrows.
Reanna
Running her fingers through her hair, the Russian lifted her gaze to the entrance of the casino and sighed. She didn’t particularly want to be here. She couldn’t stand crowds, and she still had blood stain on her skin. Yet, she had decided that she needed to be. It was because of /them./ With a quick flick of her tongue across a sharp fang, she pushed open the door – and spotted him instantly. Weaving her way through the crowd, she found her husband, hand sliding along his muscled back as she whispered a quiet sentence into his ear before offering her Every, her partner in crime, a faint smirk. “Privet.â€

Elizabeth
With Doc seemingly on board with the suggestion of leaving, Elizabeth found her way beside him again and linked her arm through his. "It would be a serious tragedy, indeed." Elizabeth commented, before she laughed a little, and followed Doc out of the Casino.
Aurelia
Aurelia could only quietly chuckle, "Well, with how the city is, I thought it would be a different change of scenery for us to come out, see that not only our family supports a peaceful existance between vampire and human. This was certainly motivating for me."
Azraeth
seemed reluctant to release the other man's tie at first, though the moment he felt hands on his hips, he released the soft fabric. And then there was that growl to Flynn's voice. It sounded like a challenge and his own hands slipped between Flynn's arms, over the man's sides, so that his thumbs could pass against ribs through layers of fabric. Only to drop, and possessively rest against lower, past a tailbone, right against the swell of muscle. "I hope you know this suit is doing a lot of work for you tonight. You're getting tons of mileage out of it." He whispered, his voice a hiss. "As for my thoughts. I think, lovermine, that you are as likely to get tired of me as you are to tire of breathing. I think." He continued. "You should kiss me before I drag you out of here, and kick your ***."
Kirill
nodded, and lifted a brow in her direction. You say this like I would have tried at any other time. Fight smart, not hard, Eve. You know this. He winked, and then moved with her to take a look at the casino floor. He glanced from table to table, before he turned to her again and cant his head toward the room. Lady's choice. He turned, then, and saw his wife. His wife that was literally the last person he had expected to see. And see her, he had. More of her than he had expected, and much more of her than usual. He smiled, then, that rare and genuine smile, as he held out his hand to her. And here is the face I had not expected to see. Perhaps you would like to join us?
Alaric von der
Alaric nodded. With no drink, he continued to play with the feathers between his fingers. He peered down at them. This scene was far different to one offered by a tree. Finding no desire to leave their place at the bar, he slid into a stool at Ariadne's side. "People, they come and they go. It is hard," he nodded.
Clarke
It wasn’t unusual that the blonde was late. In fact, she made it a habit. When Harrison had invited her, she hadn’t thought about going at all. She was still adjusting to the afterlife, and the thought of leaving the safety of her apartment sent chills racing down her spine. Yet, he had asked; and so, she bought a dress. She barely had the money to afford the apartment she rented, but she scrounged enough together to purchase a gown for this event, and now, over three hours late, she stepped through the entrance, wide, blue eyes scanning the crowd for her sire. Spotting him with his arms wrapped tight around another woman, she sank her teeth into her lower lip and hesitated near the door.
Meara
smiled at Aurelia. "By and large my family supports peaceful coexistence as well. I think there are much more pressing matters we all face as a united humanity then separated."
Freyja
glanced from the door to where her half empty glass sat on the bar. She frowned, then, and reached into her bag for her phone. She tapped at the screen, sending a quick text to Violet before locking the device and sliding it back into her bag.
Every
idly hummed to herself as she glanced around once more as the two took their seat. Her hazel eyes taking in the sight of Doc and Elizabeth, glancing in the direction of Ariadne after. "Seems he's moved on from Ari." She murmured to Kirill although she doubted he'd understand the concept before she looked up at the sight of Reanna. The smile on her lips lifting to become brighter at her appearance. "It's good to see you, Ray." She said, looking to Kirill before she gave a roll of her eyes at his words. "Things change, as a vampire." She said, showing her fangs before letting them disappear, looking back to the woman at her side, "You look beautiful."
Doc
Doc made sure to keep Lizzie close as they wound their way out. Once they were free of the event, and relatively alone in parking lot, as they headed to Doc's car, he stopped and turned to look at her, "Thank you for coming with me." he paused, "And thank you for knowing I was struggling." They made it to the car and after opening the door for Lizzie, he got in and they headed back to Harper Rock. As Lizzie stepped into the penthouse, Doc refused to let go of the trailing silk tie, which cause the bow at her neck to come loose.
Reanna
When his hand came for her, she stepped around it and into the crook of his arm. “You asked,†she reminded him, her English improved – though her accent as thick as ever. The rough rasp of her voice was a familiar one, and as she leaned to brush a kiss to his strong jaw, she glanced to their sire. “Spaciba. As do you,†she said as she reached for a stray napkin, the cloth soon turning red as she wiped at her hands. “Join what for?â€
Enver_Marshall
It was good to see people socializing and interacting without Enver having to do the awkward host thing. He hated forcing people to talk to eachother, but if he had to, he sure as hell would. With everyone doing their own thing and apearing comfortable, Enver slipped to the bar to get a refill and then headed to a private part of the casino to simply enjoy the quiet it had to offer him.
Harrison
The men at the table all looked very serious, and anyway, Harrison was rusty in regards to the game of Poker. Even when he had played, he'd never been that good. He changed his mind. "You know, I think maybe we should just play the pokies. I don't want to lose all those chips your boss so generously gave up," he said. And, mentioning her boss, he shrugged. "I tried to make guns for a while, refurbish them, but it didn't stick. I'll keep practicing, but I have more pressing things to do with my time," he said. He'd led them away from the poker table and toward the pokies, his wandering gaze catching Clarke by the door. He lifted a hand waved. He honestly didn't think she'd be coming.

Flynn
his lips pursed, his nose wrinkling in order to give off the impression that he wasn't too impressed with the threat. He even went so far as to shake his head, though it was hard to keep the smile at bay. "I would have gotten less out of it, had I let you see me before the event, and you know it." Leaning in, then, he pressed his lips against Az's in what could only pass as a chaste kiss. For them, anyway. "But, you are right. I don't foresee myself getting tired of you any time soon. Luckily for you."
Freyja
pulled her phone from her bag again when it chimed, and she stood as she read the text. Without another word, she tapped at the screen of her phone and shoved several bills at the bartender. Without waiting for her change, she turned and made her way out the door, fingers still flying across the glass screen of her phone.
Clarke
At the wave, she relaxed – but only slightly. She still didn’t move from the door, her cowboy boots practically glued to the floor. Something could go wrong. It always did. There could be a fire, or she could trip and stab herself. It had happened ever since she’d been turned, this string of bad luck. So, even though he smiled, she just stood completely still, her eyes glued to him. It wasn’t that far, she tried to tell herself, even as she calculated the distance in her mind. She could make it. Nothing would happen, would it?
Amalea
quietly drained the remainder of her glass before heading back to the bar; this time for a glass of red instead. It'd also give her a chance to see who was still around.
Aleksandra
Snapping her clutch closed, Aleksandra peered up at the sign above the casino and smiled. She had heard rumors of the event, but hadn’t decided to go until the last minute. It wasn’t her usual style, but she was beginning to blossom, so to speak. With Grove almost completed, and her degree within her grasp, she thought she deserved a night out. The only thing was – she hadn’t told Blaize. In fact, she hadn’t mentioned it at all to him until she tossed a text his way. She hated to disturb him, especially when he was working on a new routine or with his class. His passion mirrored her own – and she was more than able to attend one event on her own, even if she did wish he was at her side. Running the tip of her pinky over her rose stained lips, the allurist stepped inside and headed straight for the bar.

Meara
yawned softly as she stretched. "Hey i am gonna wander on home, its getting late and I gotta take the dog out. But you should come to the Halloween Gala on Monday." She was smiling directly at Aurelia. "Its at the Clocktower. "
Azraeth
tightened his grip, as if there was some chance Flynn might get snatched away. The space between them seemed to just dissipate, as if it was never there at all, and the vampire was left with the comforting feeling of that body heat radiating warm and soft. He felt like a serpent right then, searching for a rock upon which to sun himself. Then their lips touched, and he finally began to move, letting the music itself inform the slowness of the steps. It wasn't structured or particularly beautiful, but it didn't have to be. Flynn was more than beautiful enough to make up for it. "We both know if you'd tried putting that on at my place, we never would have actually left. Which I was half expecting honestly. A chance to get out of dancing and socializing? You must really want to impress me with this romance thing." He decided. And then a pause. "Yeah. Lucky me."
Alaric von der
It was almost on cue. People, they come and go, he had said -- and directly after, Ariadne and slipped from her stool and snuck out. It was an awkward exit, but an exit nonetheless. Alaric merely stared after her, confused, though he did tuck the feathers she had gifted him into his pocket. "Have a good evening, Meara," he nodded, though she had not been speaking to him.
Aurelia
Aurelia glanced after the woman who Alaric had been speaking to before looking back to Meara as she offered a smile. "You have a nice evening, I'll certainly try to make it if I get the chance. Be safe."
Meara
tiped her head to Alaric. "Thanks mister. Maybe I'll come find you and Aurelia sometime. Outside of these events, or in alarics cause shopping malls." She chuckled as she slipped out the door.
Kirill
draped an arm lazily around his wife's middle as he gestured to the casino with his free arm. We were just about to take a seat at one of these tables and, perhaps, try our hand at a game. Just for fun. He flicked his eyes to his sire, then, and cocked a brow. Things change all the time. For everyone. He nodded, then, to punctuate the point as he tipped his head and let his eyes sweep over the floor again. Any preference on the game?
Rikki
If she was going to be honest, she wasn't too upset with Harrison changing his mind on where they would spend their chips. As they moved throughout the tables to reach the pokies, she caught Harrison's wave in the general direction of the door. There was a woman there, standing what appeared to be shock still at the door. "Someone you know?" she asked, canting her head up at the man. They could circle back to the gun thing, and the fact he had mentioned other and more important business. While she wondered what that might be, she would ask at their next meeting, when they were alone. That had been the deal.
Mortll
sighed and fished a quarter out of her clutch as she headed out the door she slid it in one of the slot machines and hit the button she watched as the wheels spun and rolled up a big fat nadda she laughed and walked out the door.
Harrison
"Well, you know how I said Enver was my sire? That's Clarke. I'm her... sire," he said. It sounded so lordly, like some kind of title. Harrison didn't think he was lordly. He'd just been trying to do the right thing. Even though he'd waved at Clarke, she did not seem to be moving. He frowned up at her, the glanced at Rikki. "We'll come back to the pokies. Come meet her?" he said, already leading them through the crowd and up to the entrance, where Clarke still stood, like a stunned mullet.
Flynn
snorted at the comment, his eyes rolling heavenward at the very notion of trying to impress Az. Okay, so maybe he had done this a little bit for the vampire, but impressing him hadn't been the goal. Az was a social creature, these sort of things were clearly his element. If they, in any way, brought a smile to his face, then that was all that really mattered. "My reasons for doing this...rest almost solely on the fact that I didn't think marking our success of one month should be spent the same way we spend every night. I haven't grown tired of you, yet." His tone was teasing, but still quiet as they sways with the music. It was their own little world, for the moment, and he intended to capitalize on it. "So, now that I have been social multiple times this week...I think that means we spend the next two weeks as recluses. I need to recover."
Clarke
She had just returned her phone to her bag when she felt him approach, her frantic gaze lifting from the floor to travel along the length of his body until she could meet his eyes. “Harrison,†she chimed, southern accent thick as honey as she ran a hand through her hair. “I’m sorry I’m late. You know how frightenin’ things seem to happen whenever I’m out and about.†Offering him an unsteady grin, she let her attention travel to the woman at his side, thick brow arched in quiet contemplation. It wasn’t jealousy that had her sizing her up, but years of being the protective little sister to a set of wild, obnoxious, and often times horribly tasted brothers. “It seems you have a date,†she grinned.
Every
lifted her eyebrow, "You're right. I'm now able to see your strengths and weaknesses." She smirked, taking a sip from her glass as she set it down, "Ray, why don't you choose something? I'm not picky."
Reanna
Games. They wanted her to choose games! It was outrageous, really. She didn't ******* care about games. Hell, she didn't know the first thing about Canadian anything, and so, she lazily waved her hand in the direction of the nearest table. "I will watch," she responded, nails drumming against her husband's shoulder. He would win, she knew, because he'd cheat. He always cheated.
Rikki
The woman nodded her head as Harrison asked that they go and meet up with Clarke, who had had just mentioned to the sire of. So, that meant one of two things. He had either killed her, or saved her. Or, maybe even both. Whatever the case, she found herself tucking her lower lip beneath the upper one in a contemplative gesture. When they reached the woman, Rikki offered a small smile in her direction, though she remained silent while the two conversed. Even if they were about to be talking about her.
Azraeth
loved the ballroom. Was it a ballroom? In his head, he kept referring to it as 'the dancin' place'. Anyway, he liked it because it was a tiny bit secluded. It was easy to drown out the rest of the world, let them fade into the twilight place beyond his vision. Easy to focus entirely on Flynn. And it was a special night, after all. "You are such a ridiculous *** at times." He said suddenly, his grin unfaded. "You make me ridiculously happy. And you have a great ***." His brows lifted, and gave a little wiggle, as if to emphasize the terrible. Terrible. Absolutely awful joke. But hey. That's who Flynn had chosen to fall for. "As for this two weeks thing. I suppose we can swing that. I will try not to send you back to work a broken man." He concluded, having to glance down at least once to make sure he didn't step on Flynn's feet.
Aurelia
She smiled as she took another sip from her drink, letting the taste of the whisky wash over her tongue and her light blue eyes took in the scenery. Now that they were left alone, she lifted an eyebrow, "So, might I ask whom the pretty lady that had feathers mysteriously appear from her was?" Her tone held a teasing hint to it, but she was clearly glad at the turn of events.
Harrison
Harrison noticed Rikki's silence; he wondered if this was all a bit too much all at once. He cleared his throat, though maintained his smile. "Yes. Officially, I have a date," he said, grinning. For a Necromancer, he had better complexion than most. Something that seemed to have improved since he had been made. "Rikki, this is Clarke. Clarke, Rikki," he introduced them. He was aware of Clarke's bad luck, but didn't think it could be too bad. "C'mon. We're about to go play some pokies," he said, then stopped. He glanced down at Rikki. It was officially a 'date'. Dates generally didn't include more than the couple, did they? Would it matter?
Clarke
Shaking her head, her stance relaxed – though only slightly. The silence from the woman was worrisome, and she found herself watching her for a moment. Maybe it was because of her own overzealous love interest, with his ability to talk her head off until she wanted to punch him in the throat, but the fact the woman merely smiled made her uneasy. Though, it drifted the moment she noticed her sire’s own smile remain focused. Maybe she was just quiet – the southerner couldn’t fault her on that. “If you have a date, sugar, don’t mind me. I can easily drum up my own fun for the evein’,†she chuckled, her eyes bright, even as she reached a hand for the door. “I just didn’t want you here all alone, wonderin’ what could have been, you know,†she teased.
Kirill
didn't always cheat. Sometimes he just played a little bit outside of the rules. He flicked his gaze from his sire, to Ray, and then to the table that she had indicated. He wasn't familiar with the game himself, though he knew that, had he a few turns to watch, he would have the grasp of the game shortly. He turned his gaze to the women, then, and offered them both to sit first. Ever the gentleman.
Flynn
actually laughed, even though he shook his head to make it clear just how ridiculous that joke had actually been. Bad jokes were nothing new for Az, but that one topped the charts with some of the worst. "Yeah, well..." he sighed once the laughter had subsided so that he could lean in to kiss the man's forehead. "You make me ridiculously happy. And, I suppose your *** is alright, too." That laughter threatened to start up again as his partner actually checked their feet, showing a first sign of lack of confidence in his abilities, but Flynn didn't point it out and instead just released his hold with one hand so he could draw the man's attention back up. There was one moment, one brief pause where he might have said something, and then merely shook his head and settled for something else. "I would say you couldn't break me, but that would somehow be a challenge to you. I know better." Not that he would have had a whole lot of reason to complain about that.
Alaric von der
Alaric eyed Aurelia, wondering how much she would believe. But, the woman did see the spirits of the dead, and her great great elder had come back from the dead. Anything else wouldn't be too far of a stretch. "I met her, once," he eventually said. "... when she was an owl," he added, gaze drifting to the crowd, to the door through which Ariadne had left. And he realised, too, that Elizabeth was no longer there -- either that, or he could not see her. He had not even said hello. But then, nor had she.
Every
inclined her head at the table, chuckling at the game. She didn't know how to play it herself, but it would work fine. "It'll be a learning experience." She mentioned to Reanna, smoothing her hand over her skirt and adjusting it over her leg so that the slit wouldn't leave too much skin bare.
Amalea
Amalea quietly took the fresh glass of red wine the bartender slid across the surface to her. With a slight nod of thanks, she wandered away to find a seat from which she could quietly observe the others.
Reanna
Pulling herself from her husband's embrace, she headed for the table - and reached for a deck of cards. When her fingers touched it, a slender hand smacked at hers, earning an icy glare before she glanced to Kirill. "Why? Sit," she demanded, her expression relaxing as she turned to Every. "Show skin. You have it."
Rikki
Her eyes shifted between the two of them, but soon enough she was smiling at the introduction. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Clarke. Please, why don't you join us? I recently got Harrison's word to see more of him, so I don't mind sharing him for the rest of the night." Truth of the matter was, she wouldn't have minded getting to know others in Harrison's life. The people he was close with, in any sense of the word. It wasn't like she had a long list of people to introduce him to. And besides, it was only the first date, it's not like this was the be all, end all.
Aurelia
The blonde lifted her eyebrow, clearly not expecting that. Vampires still confused her, but at the same time, she never had learned much about vampirism yet. "At least there's always something different to learn?" She chuckled. "A woman turning into an owl. What are you capable of?" She asked, lifting her eyebrow curiously at her elder.
Azraeth
was all sorts of ready for banter. That was to be expected with Flynn. The man's charm was the variety that was soaked in sarcasm. But his retort died on his lips when a hand lifted from his hip and tipped his chin up. His brows both lifted, as he searched for a moment, as if to ask what Flynn was doing. And then he realized he was really asking what Flynn was looking for. "I could never do that anyway. Not really." He whispered as his own hands moved up, one sliding against a lower back, the other pressing towards that space between Flynn's shoulder blades. "It's not a challenge though. I could do it without thinking. I could do it in an instant. But I never could, because..." And his voice dipped lower as he pressed into Flynn's chest, their cheeks nearly brushing. "..I love you."
Kirill
shook his head and took his seat, adjusting for the eventual claiming of his lap as he shifted to get himself comfortable. He glanced up at her, one brow lifted as he gave another shake of his head. Because that is their job. Let them do it. He turned to his sire and nodded, his hand gesturing to the table. That, it will be.
Harrison
Harrison beamed, if could beam and bright. "Then it is settled," he said, shaking his head at Clarke's hand as it found the door. She wouldn't be running away, not just yet. "We have some luck to test. The three of us," he said, stepping back down to the Casino floor, headed for the pokie machine that first caught his eye. It had a highlander theme, and certainly seemed fitting.
Alaric von der
"I cannot be an animal, if that is what you are asking," he said, shaking his head. What was he capable of? A lot. And he was not sure it was a conversation they should have in the middle of this event. And nor did he have a catalogue that he could summon things from. He didn't have all his capabilities listed in his mind, ready to give out as information. "I am capable of enough," he said.
Clarke
It seemed she was staying, then. When her phone vibrated, she didn't bother to reach for it - and instead, allowed her sire to take her hand and guide the trio to the first table. "I'm not the gamblin' sort, sugar. Daddy always said it was the devil's work." Even as she said the words, she smiled, her gaze drifting to Rikki. "You're not... " How did one phrase the question on the tip of her tongue? She could hear her heartbeat, smell her blood, and so she knew she was alive. "...dead?"
Aurelia
Aurelia gave a soft laugh, "It is more I was wondering if you had any special thing. But it can be a discussion for another day." She gave a soft shake of her head. There was certainly a lot of discussion going on and Aurelia didn't know what to do next, or what to suggest to Alaric. "Thank you for attending this with me."
Amalea
Instead of finding a seat, the red-head drifted towards the ballroom, silently leaning against the entryway as she watched the lone couple with a smile as she sipped the crimson liquid. They were adorable.
Flynn
hadn't been expecting the sudden seriousness to take over, the way Az's voice dropped into little more than a whisper, as if to keep what he had to say between them when no one else was around to hear it, anyway. The Paladin's head fell to the side, his eyebrows coming together in confusion. And that confusion was brushed away almost immediately as those three words came out of his partner's mouth. His steps literally came to a dead halt, though his hands never left the vampire to the point that he could move away. His silence could have been taken as hesitation, but that wasn't the case. It was just shock, but he knew he needed to say something. Anything. Only when he pulled back to look into Az's eyes did the words come to him. "I...love you, too." His lips slammed together, then, like he refused to say anything else. Nope that was enough talking for the next two days.
Alaric von der
Alaric shook his head, and even laughed himself. "Nothing special," he said. At least, he didn't think so. In the grand scheme of all the things that vampires were capable of, he honestly was preocupied, most of the time, with trying to keep his abilities in check and stop them from splitting his head open with an overwhelming migraine. He nodded. "I thank you for the invitation. It has been... enlightening."
Rikki
"Uhm..." she started, staring like a deer caught in headlights at the woman for asking if she was dead. Or, in other words, a vampire. That wide, blue gaze shot to Harrison, like he may somehow drag her out of the situation. That, clearly, was not about to happen and so she turned back to Clarke and ever so subtly shook her head. "No. No...I am not...dead. I am still very much alive." With her shoulders rising up in a shrug, she glanced at the table her date had chosen, as if a momentary distraction from the awkward conversation. "Is...that a problem?" she asked, more than a little cautious in how she voice the question.
Aurelia
She nodded, "Well, from my perspective, you are a truly special individual regardless. And I might be a little biased given you are the family patriarch." She nodded towards the door, "Would you like to go for a walk before we make our way home? We're along the river here. And there's a marina here, too, I believe."
Azraeth
came to a halt with Flynn, his head turning slowly as if to match the human's expression. Though the truth was just that he wanted to look into his partner's eyes. Just like he did during all of their most intimate moments. Because that was the only place Flynn ever showed his vulnerability. Those windows to the soul. The place where Az could look inside and see everything about the man laid bare before him. He knew it was a big moment. He knew how much it meant to Flynn. So he'd picked a special moment. "I know you do. I know you have." He said before he pulled his hand up to gently tug at the Paladin's lower lip. "But hearing it just reinforced what I thought when we shared that shower together after the incident in the sewers, when we saved that man's life." He didn't need to repeat the words he'd said to Flynn then. Or how they had filled his mind with so many heavy thoughts and emotions that he'd nearly sobbed right then and there. He leaned in, and their lips touched. Because really, he had talked quite enough, and sometimes there were things the voice, no matter how composed and articulate, could say. Some things were better left to the realm of touch, taste, and quiet needful expressions.
Harrison
"I think the devil is a misunderstood character," Harrison said, as controversial as it might be for a Minister to say such a thing. "He punishes evil. I think there is more evil in the world than a little gambling," he said. The devil, he assumed, would focus his energies on murderers and rapists and the like. Harrison slipped onto the stool in front of the machine and put in a couple of dollars. He was about to ask whether either of the women would like to pull the lever when Clarke asked her question. It was terribly hard not to want to whack her upside the head. As soon as Rikki asked whether it were a problem, Harrison shook his head. Vehemently. "No, it's not a problem," he said.
Alaric von der
Alaric's eyes rolled. She would think that he was special, perhaps, because a ritual had been required to bring him back from the dead. Because he was centuries old. Or, perhaps just for the reason she said; and for the same reason that, out of all the humans that may have been present, Aurelia was special to him too. He nodded. "Ja, please. That would be nice."
Clarke
She didn’t seem to mind that she had asked the question, nor did she find it inappropriate. She had read the papers, and she had watched the news. She knew the troubles that brewed between vampire and human, and Harrison knew how she felt about her… life. If the woman couldn’t answer a simple question about her obvious state of living without getting flustered, what was she doing in a pack of vampires? It made the blonde nervous /for/ her. Even as Harrison answered, she raised a brow. “It’s obviously not a problem for you, so I doubt you were the one she was askin’,†she reprimanded, though she didn’t bother to answer right away. Was it a problem? Not in the way she might think. She was envious of her ability to still breathe, to be alive and whole, and so, she shook her head. “It isn’t.â€
Aurelia
She didn't think it was in him to roll his eyes and she couldn't help but laugh. It wasn't something she'd expected, either. She held up one finiger to finish off her drink and wandered over to the bar, returning the glass, and then returned to Alaric's side. "Perfect." She said as she lead the two towards the door. It was nice, too, though, with the lack of spirits hovering everywhere in Harper Rock. Perhaps she'd look into the outer towns for a place to place her office.
Every
frowned as she heard a familiar voice in her head, her wraith calling her name and distracting her from the game in front of her. With an apologetic frown playing across her lips, Every looked towards her childer. "It appears I've got to step out for the evening. But, I can stop by the apartment after I'm finished dealing with what Locryn has gotten herself into?" She offered as she stood, looking towards Amalea and lightly speaking into the woman's mind. "I'll have to meet up with you and discuss something later, as well. My apologies." Before offering her a soft smile and then glancing back down to her childer.
Flynn
felt a little like he might like to burst into flame, maybe even become a nice pile of ash like the vampires of the city. Not because of what he'd said, but because of the floodgate of emotion and thoughts that he had released by doing so. The metaphorical box, behind that metaphorical wall was open and there was nothing stopping it all. He still wasn't sure about what Az had said after the shower, that much would need some processing, but at the very least, he could accept the exchange that just occurred. Thankfully, he was saved from saying anything by the lips pressing into his own, drawing him in closer to the vampire. "Mm...can we go home, now?" he asked, practically whining at the thought of staying there much longer. Especially when his head felt like it might implode.
Amalea
Amalea looked back towards the casino floor as she heard that familiar voice in her head. She smiled at Every, nodding slightly, before replying in-kind. ~Not a problem. Feel free to give me a call when you're free and we'll get something set up.~
Reanna
"Thank ****," the Russian grinned as she eased herself back from her husband's lap. She thought she'd have to stay there and actually learn to play a game that she'd no concern for. If it wasn't for Every and Kirill, she'd never have been there to begin with. "Da. Go. Call first," she hummed, emerald gaze sweeping across her husband's suited chest before she rested her hand on his shoulder - and teleported them both out.
Every
reached out to tug at Reanna's hair, "Grouchy little thing, you are. I will." She smiled, clearly amused before she flicked Kirill in the back of the head. Careful to step back as Reanna teleported them out, she headed towards the door. Vaguely wondering if she had anything to change into waiting in the back of her truck.
Rikki
The way that Harrison quickly shook his head was cute, making it abundantly clear that her human-ness didn't bother him. Even if he hadn't been who her question had been directed toward, it was appreciated all the same. Once Clarke offered up her answer, Rikki only nodded. Once. Decisive. "Then we have no problems." Glancing around for a clock to check the time, the woman winced, looked at Harrison with a small frown. "I'm sorry to cut the date short, but I have to get home. It's late..." Hesitating for only a moment, she leaned in to press a chaste kiss to his cheek. "Maybe, call me later?" she asked with small smile, turning to Clarke as she made her way for the door. "It was nice to meet you. We'll have to actually get to know each other next time. Aliveness and all." With that, she waved to the duo and headed for the door.
Azraeth
let his lips slip from overtop Flynn's, so they could instead press against the middle of the man's forehead. For a moment, he held his partner close. Not because he didn't want to answer that plea, but because he needed those precious seconds himself. Because he felt like his legs might turn to jelly with a step. Because between them, they had one functioning heart, and that thing was working overtime. "Let's go." He whispered, voice a little rough. He pulled away, his hand grasping Flynn's tightly so he could lead them towards the door. Along the way, he passed Amalea, and pressed a kiss to her cheek. "Goodnight, sister. Don't let anyone do anything too crazy." And then he continued towards the exit. Only for he and Flynn to disappear once they made it past the barrier of the door, and free of the mystical ritual, which prevented the use of magical abilities. One moment there. Blink. And they were gone.
Harrison
And then suddenly, the night was over. Harrison took the opportunity after Rikki had left to look around, and realised the crowd in the Casino had significantly dwindled. He turned to Clarke, then, and smiled. "We'll go," he said, gesturing to the door. There was something in her response, something in the way she said it, and he got the impression she wasn't all that happy. "We'll go for a quiet walk and talk."
Clarke
When Rikki headed for the door, she blinked once - then twice. She knew they had found offense in her simple question, but to leave -- no, she needed to take a moment. The woman was a peach, that much was obvious from the way she was with her sire. This was something else, and she knew exactly what it was. She was over-thinking, over-analyzing. "Sure, darlin'," she smiled, hand reaching to lock their fingers together. It wasn't a romantic gesture, but one for comfort. She found comfort in the man that saved her. Wanting out as quick as possible, she headed for the door and pulled him with er.
Amalea
Amalea had turned back towards the couple still in the ballroom, smiling as she saw that they were still practically fused together, though she couldn't blame them. She did, however, have the good grace to blush lightly as they turned towards the door and her, having been caught. "Good night, you two," she smiled, giggling lightly at the idea of her stopping the craziness. It was about time for her to call it a night as well, but she was more than willing to give the menfolk a headstart given how swiftly they seemed to leave. Perhaps a side trip to the store on her way home for some earplugs was in order.

(wearing https://www.instagram.com/p/BPZVh27A0Ng ... den_barbie)

Every

Meara
gave a soft shrug.
