Never have been in a bar before, Isabella sat upright and rigid, attentive to her surroundings. All around her people were arguing, drunk, or starting to getting a little violent. Isabella sat near the back corner but didn't want to look too suspicious by sitting far from the "entertainment". She sipped from her drink every few seconds nervously, not even knowing what was in it. But that was life.
She checked her phone. No new messages. She sighed, glancing around warily. She thought about leaving but an acquaintance she had made earlier had recommended going to the bar. Isabella never mentioned being a eighteen year old who just looked in her twenties or being the valedictorian at her high school who never did anything bad, until her parents both died in a plane crash. It was only two years ago when the passed on but she still felt the sting, still remembered the crazy things she had done less than a week afterwards.
Isabella ran her fingers through her red hair, licking her lips. They felt chapped. Considering leaving, she drank the rest and stood, sliding against the wall.
