Taking A Gamble (Night 1)

Post by Storyteller »

Enver_Marshall
(gonna start this now...idk why I had 730 in my head. apologies)

Enver_Marshall
“Good evening and welcome to the first, of many nights of celebration. I'm Enver Marshall the second, for those of you who don't know me. Or....and not to alarm anyone here...one of many vampires in the building.” He chuckled, glanced around, then drew a breath inwards. “But, we're not here for me. If you want to know more about me, you can always ask me tomorrow at our event right here, or catch me sometime in Chalktown.” He winked at a table near the front of the music stage that had been cleared of instruments and then grinned.

Enver_Marshall
“So then, why are we here? What is all this about? Well, a few weeks ago, something happened in Harper Rock. Something that showed a side of vampires that wasn't something that had been seen before from people like me. In essence, as there's no point in sugar coating it-**** hit the fan in a way that I don't think too many of us-too many vampires, are proud of. We saw a side, that in reality, so few of us see. But in admitting that truth, we also have to be honest with ourselves. Who hasn't lost their **** at one point or another?” He leaned forward on the podium that Enver stood behind and gazed around, before one of his free hands ran through his hair.

Enver_Marshall
“And that's one, of many points this week. What you see around you...I built with my own hands and hard work. Years of hard work. Anything and everything I own, anything I've bought, I had to earn just like anyone else. I have a career-many, in fact. Vampires have jobs. Vampires buy things. Vampires have families of their own too, to a varying degree. Just like you, your neighbor, your mom and dad and even grandma and grandpa.

Enver_Marshall
So, what is humanity? Well...it's a lot of things that I just mentioned. Kindness, consideration, compassion, and philanthropy. Many vampires are thee things. Do these things. We work along side with humans. Offer jobs and opportunities in life, we are passionate about the things many humans are passionate about. Music, art, hobbies, and so forth. And we get that from, well...being human. We get our best from what we once were.” Enver paused to blink, the last statement quieter than the rest of his speech had been so far.

Enver_Marshall
“Which is what this week is about. Celebrating where vampires, such as myself have some from. Embracing what makes us more human than the monsters the newspapers and tabloids try to claim us to be. Tonight is sort of a meet and greet with dinner and drinks on the house, both things I personally like to indulge in. If you're a gambling man, or woman there are machines and table for any risk takers. Tomorrow, I'll be back here for a Q and A session with some other people; vampires and humans alike. Wednesday night...if you're an art lover, you aren't going to want to miss what Miss Knight has planned.” Enver stopped and pointed in her direction, giving Indigo the much needed attention she deserved for her efforts.

Enver_Marshall
“Thursday, for those of us in the room that are quick of wit...all day and night you'll have a chance to run around Harper Rock, Tomkin and Cherrydale to solve some riddles for a chance to win a makeover in décor for your home. Then Friday, back here for the final festivities, because who doesn't like to end the week with a party?” He chuckled, then cleared his throat. “And that's all I've got for you folks tonight. Eat, drink, be merry and enjoy yourselves. No one, vampire or human takes the time to do that. Thank you for coming, and enjoy your evening.” With a quick wave, Enver grabbed his notes, tucked them inside his suit coat pocket and vacated the stage to start doing rounds.

Indigo
https://www.instagram.com/p/BY7LPWPgReS ... den_barbie /me stood in close proximity as Enver spoke. A brief glance at her watch confirmed it was go time and someone was delayed. A set of exotic blues framed by golden ringlets was scanning the faces slowly for where each was in reception to what her boss said. The red dress skimmed her skin as she took slow steps to accept the drink she had ordered. A step away from the poker table she had been betting for fun and winning for real had her tucking away her chips for cashing in later.

Indigo
eyes set on him as her agenda was mentioned. A smile surfaced at her lips as she sipped her drink. Of course there would be some artistic and peace loving people in attendance. Adventureous too. The community was full of such.

Ariadne
lounged on some sort of cushioned ottoman by the door, the indigo lights of the casino reflecting off of her black dress at she stood and watched the mingling crowd with a glass of some reddish beverage in her hand. Wine. It was wine tonight as not to arouse suspicion.

Indigo

Indigo
Sorry people Indigo switched gears. Getting her back in line...promise)

Enver_Marshall
glanced to Indigo, blinked and then grabbed her glass...someone had too much to drink already it seemed.

Doc
Doc's gaze stayed on Enver until he mentioned the bombshell just off to his side. His gaze raked her up and down, and then settled back on Enver. when after another two minutes, Enver was done, Doc was surprised. This had been rather anti-climatic. He wasn't sure what he expected, but he actually did expect Enver to wax on for another twenty minutes or so, plugging his book and a movie that he probably had in the works. But nada. It was almost a perfect speech. Almost. Except for bombshell that was stealing his thunder. Who could pay attention that closely when she was right there? Unless that was the plot all along..? His eyes narrowed ever so slightly.

Indigo
adjusted her purse and ignored the clinking of poker chips. Smiled a bit at her hand being empty. Certqainly wasn't like he didn't have a history of his own moments. Eyes the work above her. "I was enjoying that."

Azraeth
He had arrived just in time to hear the speech given by Enver - a man Az didn't recall ever having met. And yet the name felt vaguely familiar for some reason. It was one of those 'on the tip of the tongue' situations. Like if he tried to think about it too closely, he would never get it, and it wouldn't be until days later it might hit him. He expected, for a big publicity thing, for there to be any number of people around with cameras and the flash of lights, to capture every single moment. And with the speech given, he felt like he could begin to mingle. So he slipped away from the door, his fingers tangled with that of a human. He recognized some faces in the crowd, not many, but enough to draw a smile. And anyone he didn't know? Well. They were only a greeting and a conversation away from fixing that problem, weren't they?

Enver_Marshall
Enver laughed a little, then swished the remainder of what was in the glass around before tipping it down the hatch. "Good choice. Night is still young though." He winked to Miss Knight, then moved to put the glass down on a silver platter that was carried by a waiter, before he went to mingle. He saw a face or two he knew, but other than that? Enver wasn't sure he knew many people here. Which could be a good or bad thing...

Kaelyn
wasn't sure who she would see this evening, but tonight was more to gain information. She wanted to know how things were progressing, if things were progressing. Seeing Ariadne however brought a small smile to her lips. The young woman made her way over towards the other, hands smoothing over the front of her dress. "Evening, Ari."

Indigo
stepped over to some of those at the tables and introduced herself. Mix and mingle it would be. There was more than one way to bring in the curious and to encourage peace among the masses.

Kaelyn

Ariadne
tipped her head to the young blonde. It had been a while since she had seen anyone in a social context, and thankfully Kae was one of the faces she counted on as a touchstone in unusual situations. "Kaelyn, it is good to see you out."

Enver_Marshall
There were people everywhere, people stopping Enver to talk to him about anything and everything. Commenting about Chalktown. Something about the Casino, comments about his speech, thoughts on vampires, thoughts on vampires and humans side by side, and a few about his book and soon to be released movie. He kept it short, polite and to the point, but wanted to make certain to get to speak with as many people as possible. This was important for a lot of reasons. He came to stop and extend a hand at a woman in purple and the other in black. "Evening. Thanks for coming. If you have any drink requests, there are two bars..." Enver pointed to them both. "Otherwise, I hope you both enjoy your night."

Kaelyn
didn't bother asking if she could join the woman and took a seat next to her. She knew she'd be welcome. "I'm quite happy to see you here. Wasn't sure I'd recognize anyone, but figured I needed to start coming to things of this sort. Especially with everything that is going on in my own life." Kae turned her eyes on the male as he came up to them. "Good evening, Sir. I enjoyed hearing your speech." A hand reached out to clasp his firmly.

Doc
Doc was in reconnoitering mode. He had hoped for a chance to possibly plug his campaign, but after the briefness of Enver's welcome, any attempt at garnering votes would be churlish and in poor taste. He decided to roll the dice a few times and slip out. He gaze followed Enver's progress around the room as it stopped Ariadne and Chub. Doc decided he would head the opposite direction.

Ariadne
raised an eyebrow at Enver as she took the offered hand and shook it. She should have been surprised that he didn't recognize her given the amount of times the butted heads, or that she had tried to kill him for his various Masquerade infractions. Still, new beginnings and all. "Thank you, Enver. I'm sure we shall take advantage."

Flynn
It took all of .02 seconds for him to know that this had been a really, really terrible idea. As a spur of the moment thing, attending the night’s event had not been part of the game plan. That meant arriving just in time to catch the very beginning of Enver’s speech. It was fairly quick, with an account of the other events that were to follow as the week progressed. As the man made his exit, Flynn’s eyes scanned the area and the faces that made up the room. Vampires, everywhere. Literally surrounded. His jaw clenched, hard, as he dutifully followed Azraeth as he pushed further inside. “You ever feel like the odd man out?” he muttered, more to him than the vampire.

Indigo
was making her way to the highrollers room when she sensed someone that perhaps could use a little welcome. Empty hand meant an offering of greeting could be delivered. She stepped to the left then doubled back and smiled as she approached the pair. One human in particular had her hand reaching out to him. "Good evening. Welcome."

Enver_Marshall
The one who called her 'sir' got a chuckle and a hand raise in protest. "Enver. And thank you." The handshake was complete, brief, yet warm in welcome, as his attention shifted to the other woman. His eyes narrowed for a second, before he just nodded at the woman's words. He knew who she was, or rather, he knew about her, not specifically her name. Thankfully, there could be no voilence here tonight, in case her and her group decided to trash his hard work, or make an example out of him for whatever ludicrious reason.

Ripper
tried to arrive early but seemed to have dozed off by the slot machines. He awakes with a start and is surprised to see that everybody is already here!

Noelle
had tried to nudge the man awake...but he had been conked out. Noelle had planted herself next to the slot, smirking at him as he came around. "Good dreams? I caught the gist of this meeting for you, no worries."

Ripper
"Ah. you're here. I had something for you..." *hands her over a long thin cardboard tube roll*

Dhara
This place was so far out of her comfort zone that her nose crinkled as she stepped through the door. One hand tugged on purple locks while the other checked the text again. She paused and looked around a sea of unknown faces until she spotted the singular one she recognized and the whole reason she was here. Inching along the wall, she ghosted over to Flynn's side and touched his arm, a silent greeting so she wouldn't interrupt his conversation.

Noelle
raised her brow as she took the cardboard tube, opening it to see what was inside. She blinked a few times when she saw the art, a smile tugging at her lips. "Did you have this commissioned? Alex, I presume..."

Noelle

Flynn
The sudden appearance of the woman before them made him pause, his gaze dropping to the offered hand. Taking a deep breath, he returned his attention to her face and offered a small smile as he took her hand in his. "Evening. Pleasure to be here." He could totally do this. He wasn't in a room of vampires, his instincts weren't making his rigid as board. Everything would be fine.

Kaelyn
offered the man a smile once more. "Well, Enver, it is nice to meet you. I'd like to hear more of what you have to say on these matters at some time, if you don't mind."

Ariadne
set down her glass on a nearby table and tossed on the short cape that she had brought with her to guard against the slight chill in the night air. "Kaelyn, I'm afraid that I need to spend some time in the woods. I hope you'll forgive me for taking my leave so abruptly."

Ariadne
Gate at 5,12 for anyone who needs it ))

Doc
Stopping at the craps table, Doc placed his chips on the pass line, and stood back, hands in his pockets. A couple of games and he was out.

Kaelyn
nodded a little towards the other, standing and pressing a quick kiss to her cheek. "It was good seeing you. I'm sure I'll see you again soon."

Ariadne
glanced at Doc. "If wishes were horses..."

Indigo
smiled as her hand was filled briefly and left a revealing warmth behind. Indigo Knight." She ignored how it sounded because it was in fact her name. "I would like to invite you both to the art event tomorrow evening if you are free. Dress down and bring a sense of adventure if you have the time."

Enver_Marshall
Enver nodded his head and grinned wider. "Yeah, of course. Tomorrow is that Q and A session, or, as I said in my speech, I'm always around in Chalktown. I've got big plans for this place in the next few months...years, even." He glanced over to where he saw Ripper and nodded in his direction. "So, I'm never gone for too long from here. I'm not hard to find...Kaelyn, is it?"

Indigo
perhaps was more comfortable than most. Maybe too much so for some but no need to change that now. It was about change and peace and it was something she believed in enough to put her smile behind and her passion behind it. Art could end wars.

Kaelyn
blinked, not quite understanding what that meant. She followed Ari's gaze and frowned some. "Would you like me to walk you out?" Kaelyn would focus back on the reason why she was here in a bit. "Yes, I'll try to come to things, Enver."

Ariadne
shook her head. It was good for the young woman to branch out, to make new friends. "No, please. I have no wish to disrupt the evening. Stay and enjoy yourself. Perhaps I'll see you later in the week."

Enver_Marshall
(wednesday, not tomorrow, my bad)

Ripper

Kaelyn
grabbed the woman's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "I shall hope. Good night, Ari."

Doc
Doc slid a look at The bombshell, did she just say she wanted to take her dress off and get adventurous? He couldn't be sure. He was too far away. But from his spot inthe room he saluted Az. Who knew Az had that kind of game.. its the quiet ones you had to watch out for.

Flynn
At the touch on his arm, his attention shifted to find the cause. The pixie of a vampire stood at his side and that forced, calm smile became just a little more genuine. Before he greeted her fully, he turned back to the woman as she introduced herself. "Flynn Connors. Nice to meet you." His head bobbed a couple of times in a nod, only to tilt his head at the offer. Art night. "I would be in terrible company without a sense of adventure." In order to include the purple-haired vampire as his side, he gestured to her. "Miss Indigo, this is Dhara Sabria. She is quite the lover of art."

Enver_Marshall
Since one woman was leaving and the other seemed eager to leave too, Enver dipped his head a little, and gave them both an understanding grin. "I look forward to seeing you any night you stop by, Kaelyn. Have a drink on your way out..." With that, Enver moved on to another group of people; Ripper and company. "Ripper. Good evening. Glad to see you could make it."

Noelle
rolled the painting back up to fit it into the tube once more. She'd have it framed and hung. The blonde smiled at Enver as he came over. "Evening. How are you?"

Indigo
continued to smile. "Then it sounds like more will be counted on to be there. I look forward to it. " Her eyes settled on the woman and her hand extended for yet another new hand to shake. "It is a pleasufre to meet you."

Enver_Marshall
"Good, thank you. I don't believe we've ever met. I'm Enver." He extended a hand to the woman near Ripper, and offered a small smile.

Kaelyn
had no intentions of leaving. She was hoping to catch word from others...opinions and all that on the matter. However with Ari leaving, she'd probably be more of a fly on the wall.

Azraeth
A paladin in a room full of vampires. Fish out of water? He glanced back over his shoulder towards Flynn with a grin that lacked sympathy, but made up for it in pure roguish promise for fun. Though his fingers tightened into a brief squeeze that seemed more kind. He had been on his way towards Noelle, who he had spotted somewhere in the large casino, though when they were intercepted by the gorgeous woman in the red dress, he paused, leaning heavily into the mortal's side. He caught sight of the salute Doc, and offered the man a nod in greeting. He hadn't seen him in what felt like ages, sadly. "Evening." He said a little belatedly. She had been introduced as Miss Knight hadn't she? "Azraeth." He said by way of proper greeting, extending a hand. And it appeared there was another new face, though one who perhaps knew Flynn.

Dhara
"Um" was the first thing she said as she was suddenly and forcefully dragged into the conversation. She blinked, then smiled and offered a tiny hand. "A pleasure to meet you." She said to Indigo. "I would not say a lover of art, but I can certainly appreciate it." Her accented voice was quiet, being sure that her voice did not carry past the small group she had joined.

Noelle
took the man's hand, squeezing it firmly. "We have. It's been a long while, but we have."

Elizabeth
She hadn't really known anything was going on in a city called Chalktown until tonight. Elizabeth also hadn't been 'invited' either, but that was not about to stop her. She was glad she had made the decision to get out of her wellies and other attire, showered and changed into something far more decent for whatever tonight's event was about. Her eyes floated around, recognizing some faces, before the woman tipped her head and found herself interested in a machine that had flashing lights and sounds that she had never heard before. Interesting.

Elizabeth

Enver_Marshall
"Apologies then. The last two years or so have been a whirlwind of...adventure." Enver chuckled, as he glanced around, observing more and more people, but occasionally glancing towards Indigo. Was she alright? The thought made him frown a little.

Noelle
rested her hand on the back of the seat Ripper was sitting in. "No need for apologies. I tend to forget things quite frequently. Especially faces. I'm absolutely horrible with names."

Indigo
found the energy was promising in each hand that shifted from small and petite to large and encompassing. She stood relaxed, her weight balancing more on the right than the left as her foot crossed over the other. Her eyes drifted upward then back down in general to take in the details of each before her. "No need to feel compelled to find instant love in art. It comes in time if the fit is right." Her lips wore a relaxed smile as if what she said was gold. "We start somewhere. It is better than missing the chance altogether. "

Flynn
He hadn't meant to, but had apparently just agreed to attend the event the following night. A sense of adventure, maybe. But an understanding of various art? Music, yes. Beyond that...no. His attention shifted to Az with a scowl, if only because he should been paying attention in order to keep things like that from happening.

Doc
Doc, having lost three straight games of Craps, was done. Wandering through the crowd, until he found an empty hallway, he casually went down the hall, turned the corner and pulled his tome, and he was gone.

Dhara
shifted slightly, tucking her purple hair behind her ear. She wasn't sure how to respond to the enthusiastic art lover, so she said nothing. She did smile though, her free hand toying with the violin charm at her throat as she lapsed into silence.

Ripper
would the Paladin and others like to congreate for a friendly game of cards?

Kaelyn
eyed Elizabeth up and down for a few moments. She recognized her from the one time she had seen her before. Tongue ran over teeth and fangs before grasping her clutch and moving further into the casino, towards the bar to grab a drink. She ordered a glass of wine before moving on to hang back and watch, listen.

Ripper
no mind-reading or divination allowed

Azraeth
He caught the scowl that was aimed at him, and it honestly took him a moment to realize the exact reason. He suspected it was because Flynn, inexpert at being sociable, had agreed to be even more sociable. See that was the problem with those things. Agree to go to one event and it was like the pox. Everywhere. He grinned to the Paladin and then gave a snap of his fangs. "Wipe that expression off of your face, handsome. You're surrounded by two breathtaking beauties and me." He said, giving the human's hand another squeeze.

Elizabeth
Elizabeth observed the machine, walked partially around it as the woman tried to understand how to play it. Finally, she came to stand in front of it, read the name upon the game and then saw how much each 'play' cost. The woman opened her small purse and dug out some coins and began to 'play.'

Enver_Marshall
Enver perked up at the mention of cards. "What sort of card game?" Strip poker, maybe? He could be so lucky...Eyes shifted back to Indigo at that thought.

Noelle
cleared her throat. "Strip poker?"

Enver_Marshall
all but smirked when Noelle mentioned what was on his mind. Enver wasn't shy in the slightest. "I'm game." He said, feeling confident in so many ways.

Noelle
oh ****. Didnt read that clearly thought he said it))

Ripper
any type of poker: as long as it's Hold 'em rules

Noelle
had accidentally reached into Enver's mind. She hadn't even realized she was doing it til it was too late. A blush rose to her cheeks "Mm...sorry about that. I would not partake in that specific game." Here happened to be muttered under her breath.

Noelle
glanced at Ripper "I'm not sure he'd appreciate me playing that anyway. I'm no good at poker. Don't even know how to play, actually."

Flynn
As soon as the word 'Paladin' sounded throughout the room, he winced. As if he didn't stand out enough as the only human in the room, now he had a literal finger pointed his way. His head turned to find the source of the question, landing on the unknown man. And the situation was only escalating as others started calling for strip poker. "I..." he began, trailing off suddenly. Poker was his game... but...he could name one person in particular who probably wouldn't have appreciated Flynn losing clothes tonight. "...think I have to pass." Glancing between Az and Dhara, he suddenly blinked "Oh, right."

Ripper
ahh...that's too bad.

Flynn
The human motioned between the two of them, stepping back subtley as they each had one side. "Dhara...this is Azraeth. Azraeth, this is Dhara. You two...know of each other, just never met." Talk about awkward.

Ripper
*asides* chicken.

Noelle
nodded towards Enver "I think I need to step out for a while. Maybe if you are all still here in an hour or so, I'll come back by."

Indigo
eyed the charm with the curiosity of a kitten being toyed with. The sound of a voice responding to what appeared to be reluctance. "I promise it will not hurt." She winked and peeked around the taller bodies towards the room behind them.

Azraeth
glanced pointedly at Flynn's groin at this mention of strip poker. One on one...sure. He would have been game. Not so much in a crowd though. "Yeah no." He said bluntly as he glanced between Flynn and Dhara as they were introduced. His hand extended once more. Was this? It totally was. Awkward central alright.

Noelle
pushed a quick kiss to Ripper's lips. "I'll see you at home I hope, if you are finished here before I can come back. Love you." She then headed over to Az, pressed a quick kiss to his cheek and then headed out the door.

Ripper
I'll try not to kill anybody before you get back.

Enver_Marshall
Enver just nodded his head and then sighed. Damn. Just not in the cards for him tonight, he guessed.

Noelle
winked towards her partner. "I'll not hold my breath, darlin."

Dhara
canted her head and stared up at Az, taking him in in silence. Copper eyes studied him intently, tiny hand slipping into his to give a gentle squeeze as a smile lit up her face and eyes. The tiny German had just put two and two together. "A pleasure to meet you Herr. I have not heard overly much of you, but I am certainly pleased to make your acquaintance."

Ripper
This I already know...

Azraeth
felt Noelle's lips pass over his cheek, and as the woman moved to go, he kissed the tips of his fingers to blow her the affection in passing before she could depart.

Noelle
i'll try to be back in an hour and a half if anyone is still around then))

Indigo
nodded her head subtly but enough so to give respect to the new faces she met. "See you tomorrow night then." And with that she slipped off in the crowd catching a passing tray and waiter relieving him of a tall flute that went with her in hand.

Azraeth
took the hand that was placed into his own, and rather than accept the gentle squeeze, he instead pulled Dhara into a hug. Because they were related after a fashion weren't they? He had never really understood the protocols that went along with these things. Modern media dictated that the pair should probably hate each other. Pull out the earings and reach for each other's 'weave' or something. But that all sounded very tiring to Az. "Likewise. I can't believe Flynn hasn't told me more about you, this is criminal."

Enver_Marshall
moved from Ripper to keep mingling with people, since no one wanted to play strip poker, or even cards tonight. Well, save him and Ripper, but cards for two wasn't any fun for Enver.

Dhara
squeaked in surprise and hugged him back, placing a kiss to each cheek in true Euro fashion. "To be fair to Flynn, I have not seen him very much lately through no fault of his own. I am, um... what is the English word... reclusive?" She smiled curiously. "I dread to think of all the horror stories you have suffered through to learn of me." she teased, the smile growing into a grin.

Ripper
http://www.bluffave.com/www.mooncalfstu ... ames/78179

Flynn
stared hard between the pair of them, caught between the desire to ask what the hell was happening, and just accept that things seemed to be going well enough. It was an odd thing to see, and even worse to feel like he was witnessing the beginning to a long list of times the two would find ways of ganging up on him. "I haven't told any horror stories about anyone..." he huffed, arms crossing over his chest at the insinuation.

Enver_Marshall
walked in the direction of Miss Knight, looped an arm through hers and swung her towards the direction of Ripper. "Got a player." He announced, making that three. "She's killer at cards." He grinned wider.

Azraeth
glanced towards Flynn at Dhara's mention of being a recluse. "In truth, your not seeing more of him might be a bit my fault. I'm one of those terribly clingy people you're always hearing about. Totally terrible at letting a guy get some oxygen when he needs it most." He murmured before he leaned back to press into the human's side. "We should perhaps find a place to make some bets and then we can all catch up?" He offered.

Amalea
hated being late but the meeting with the lawyers had run far longer than she would have liked. She was glad to see that there were still people in attendance when she arrived, though. She stepped off to the side to see if she couldn't find anyone she knew.

Ripper
welcome, Miss. Just at cards though? *he instinctually scans the woman Enver's foisted in front of them.*

Dhara
she smiled, fingers moving to the charm at her throat once more, even as her other hand twined a lock of purple around her finger. "There is nothing wrong with basking in the glow of new love." Another smile as she looked around. "This is my first time in a casino. But please, do not let my overly cautious self stop you. I will watch, if you do not mind."

Indigo
did the spin with assistance from the Boss. It was one of those nights. Her arm curled tighter with his. Two could play this game. "Gonna cards you..." She whispered enough for him to hear. "That's right. Totall killer here. Joker's dont get as wild as I do."

Ripper
:-}

Indigo
wondered if she really actually just said that. Looked around at the faces. Yep. Appears she did.

Enver_Marshall
took the flute she had and decided to drink that too.

Azraeth
caught sight of a flash of red, and waved to Amalea, who he saw passing through the front entrance. She'd missed the nifty speech at the beginning, but there was still plenty of mingling to be had.

Amalea
caught the wave and grinned. If it wasn't her favorite mystical assistant and her favorite paladin. She waved as she made her way over to the small group, "Evening."

Ripper
well, looks like we're the only ones here with any chutzpah. Head to head with a 10k buy-in?

Enver_Marshall
(it won't let me in. I've signed up but says an error occured D: )

Indigo
"You seriously need to pass me the pocket guide to poker, Sunshine." She eyed Enver. "Or you may lose a fortune. Unless winners charm and charisma is fair game?" If not she was certainly going in the deep end with no floaties on.

Enver_Marshall
"Ten thousand is far from my fortune, Miss Knight. Care to up the wager?" He waggled his brows in her direction.

Ripper
(Becca, that might be because David needs to approve new members. I'll whip up another game/group))

Indigo
"Fifty? Hundred?" She spent far more than that getting the Apiary up and this was for a great cause. Peace even if it cost her some fall shoes.

Dhara
when the sultry red-head came over, Dhara found the perfect excuse to slip away unnoticed. She'd far exceeded her comfort zone, but she wouldn't mind seeing Az and Flynn again some time.

Enver_Marshall
(thanks, Ripper mun)

Enver_Marshall
"Fifty is good. Care to throw in that dress too?" He said after leaning into Indigo's ear.

Indigo
eyes him. "It isn't your size, Slick. Just bring your wallet and some chocolate. "

Enver_Marshall
Chocolate? What the hell kind of request was that? Women. Enver shook his head, then reached into his suitcoat and pulled out a chequebook. "One hundred, was it?"

Indigo
"Two. You took too long."

Enver_Marshall
"Why stop there? I'll find some chocolate, raise you another one hundred thousand and you bring some cigars. Not some knock off either, the good stuff."

Indigo
"Now we are getting somewhere. Highrollers room? Double or nothing and I win I get the cigars and you are interning on the other side of the fence? Mine" Tables could turn really quick. She spent enough time figuring that out.

Enver_Marshall
gawked at her, then rolled his eyes. "Sure, high rollers. Double or nothing and when I win...well, guess we'll see where that takes us. hmm?" He smirked slowly

Ripper
wait aren't we mixing our gameing terminonlogy?

Indigo
figured she would win. She had luck to spare in case he needed some. She winked.

Enver_Marshall
sighed and then face palmed. Ripper was ruining what could be...He gave Ripper narrowed eyes

Indigo
"I haven't got the play book yet. JUst winging it. Two hours in a casino and I am feeling lucky."

Enver_Marshall
"Me too. Imagine that." Enver winked at Indigo.

Enver_Marshall
[FOR PEACE] <----seeing if that works )

Ripper
scans the room while he cuts and shuffles to deck to see what everybody else is doing. For such a party it seemed somewhat like a somber crowd was mixed into the antendees.

Enver_Marshall
Enver had money to spend, but hopefully win and chocolate to attend to, it seemed. Plus. he knew there was a smoke machine towards the back...just where the high rollers room was at. His hand came to rest at the curve of the small of Indigo's back, before he leaned down. "Ready to lose...everything?" He couldn't help but smirk a little, before he released his hold from above her *** and moved to the back VIP room.

Indigo
i/me smirked. "You can tell me all about how it feels when it happens . Shall we?"
