Seems Aden bttd with Esli and what happened with Sawyer on his way to shadow realm... or? Curious.

He battled Sawyer, Sawyer ran. Lasair, he won. Esli, he ran when he was crippled during the BTTD.

If you look at the wounds on Aden, Esli only crippled him.

He was still alive after that, just ran to a different location, I guess.

I skirmished him twice much later in the day on with Sawyer and killed him on the last one.

According to his memories:

None of mine are set to cripple. Not even my pureblood with no weapons in stock.

No, no. You didn't run - er, Esli didn't run.

Aden's BTTD were more than likely set to flee when crippled, because he was crippled. That would be why he lost the battle with Esli. Esli didn't kill him, he just crippled him.

He is set to finish them? Always has been. Has something changed since the mud runs of Tytonidae initiations where we had the option to only cripple and had to change settings so no one was sent to realm?

I think what Lana is saying that this message:

Doesn't necessarily mean that Esli killed Aden. Esli is set to kill, but Aden may be set to run when crippled (or before he's killed). So he ran off, and wasn't actually realmed, and then Sawyer finished him off.

I'm still calling it a bug if the wording is the same when someone is killed as compared to when they themselves are set to flee and aren't killed.

Okay, so. Tested this on a couple of characters. A couple of things to note:

One, Tigra didn't get a single blow on Saorise. That shouldn't have happened.

Two, Saorise crippled Tigra because Tigra was set to flee when her blood was low - not when she was killed, and Saorise was set to finish them, etc.

Same message: You left your enemy on the floor dying!

Even though Tigra is not sporting a Death Wound from Saorise - only the cripple, much like Aden - she's been realmed.

So, there is something wonky here, since Sawyer got the kill on Aden and sent him to the Shadow Realm after the BTTD with Esli.
