It's to do with mobile internet connections, I believe. It's a known thing and I don't think there's a way around it.

cannot attack this character (IPs incorrectly linked) [a]

I went to hit someone earlier today and got this message:
You have already attacked or tracked this character or their thrall/master with one of your OTHER characters (Sawyer) in the past month. You will still be able to attack or track this target, but onl with your character that attacked or tracked them first.
Sawyer and I live in two separate states (she's three hours north of me? but I don't think that would have anything to do with it). We have never logged into each other's accounts nor account sat, or even got onto the same IP.

Given the relative geographic proximity, same IP is theoretically possible if you both use the same or related ISPs and have dynamic IPs. I know that in my case every time i reset my modem I get assigned a new IP from a range of IPs allocated to that ISP in my geographic area. The issues may be even fuzzier using mobile internet.

Definitely intrigued to find out the Path related tracking issues.

It might be possible. Sure. But once upon a time, my characters linked to someone in europe. She's never been here, nor I there. Yet it happened two different times.

Yeah, the IP links do tend to happen sometimes. I originally thought it was definately a mobile internet issue, but I'm starting to think it could be some part of the code copying over IPs when two characters interact in some way, such as stealing from each other or maybe during business updates. It's a tricky one to track down, but I'll mark this as [a] and give it my best shot when I have more time.

Gameplay bug caused by FB link. (bogus ALT warning) [A]

So I clicked on Micah players FB link that was share about killing a Wight and got the following warning:

WARNING!

DO NOT IGNORE THIS MESSAGE! Please read carefully!

You are currently in control of more than 6 active characters, which is more than the number of free slots you have available (6). This is against the rules. The characters you currently control are as follows:

* Micah
* Malachai
* Aysel
* Zakar
* Dhara
* Raphael Reyes
* Giovanna-Sophia

You will be unable to move any of your characters until you delete one of them, or one of them remains inactive for at least 30 days. Alternatively, you can 'kill' one of your characters via the settings page, though any more than 1 of your dead characters will count towards your totals. You can also buy extra character slots here

To kill or delete one of these characters, please log in as them and go to the settings page. Please note: a record of this has been added to the cheating log, and attempting to use a proxy to change the IP of any of your characters will be recorded and punished.

I bet the answer is no but I have to ask anyway. Any chance of there being a shared IP with Micah's player at any time?

Nope. We live over 1100 miles apart and have never vamp-sat for each other and don't have the same ISP provider. I posted the bug report here, clicked on the GAME button and it led me to the grid. I'm able to play and move it would appear.
