Eclipse-fueled Madness

Post by Storyteller »

Mannequin
Hi there!

Mannequin
gives a rather derpy wave to Amalea

Mannequin
You were the hostess of that rad party if I remember right...?

Mortll
Smiles "She is rather a good hostess How are you doing Quin ?"

Amalea
laughed softly, "I have to admit that the sideshow was not planned."

Mannequin
Quin smiles back warmly "That she is, even with me behaving like I'd been starving for a month..."

Mannequin
Quin giggles...."It was wild that night..."

Mortll
"Now what did you get to up at this party ?"

Mannequin
....Quin blushes...."Well...blood wine got spilled and some fellow went a bit...well...odd...I nearly ended up fighting him for a bottle of the stuff..."

Mannequin
The hunger is still there, but I can hold it a lot better now... mostly

Mannequin
"look! no 'happy teeth'!" Quin shows that her fangs aren't out even with Amalea nearby

Amalea
"One of the fledglings had a nasty case of blood lust that made for some...interesting... entertainment and a touch of messy clean up."

Mannequin
"Sorry about that....I should have stayed behind to help clean up...must have tracked it all over the floor..."

Mortll
Eyes the young vampire and gets up to go get her a bottle of Arbor Vitae ..." What is your prefered Taste maybe a little virgin blood ?"

Azraeth
made an appearance, which actually just involved popping in basically out of nowhere.

Amalea
laughed softly. "You were fine. He was fine. The blood was cleaned up though I believe the humans didn't fare so well afterwards."

Mannequin
Virgin?...hmmmmm...I've never tried that to my knowledge...I tend to stick to meth addicts

Mannequin
*Quin jumps as Azraeth pops up* eeep! oh hello!

Amalea
"Good evening, Az."

Azraeth
"Evening, Amalea, Mortll, Quin. It is Quin right?"

Doc
heads down the stairs, into the Voodoo. It had been a several weeks since he been there, and weeks since he had seen mortll.

Azraeth
caught sight of Doc as the man entered. He hadn't seen him in ages, but he offered a nod.

Mannequin
*Quin frantically searcher her memory to see if she has met Azraeth before....as usual she draws a blank*

Mortll
smiles and slides a bottle and a glass in front of Quin " Here you go fresh and pure Enjoy "

Mannequin
Yes, Quin...I'm sorry if we've met before and I'm being a bit slow...my memory is terrible...

Amalea
shook her head in amusement at the fresh statement. "You might remember him from the party...he was the one chasing the crazy dude."

Mortll
hadnt seen Doc since she had sat on his lap half nude at a anti Valentines day party. She watched him as he came down the stairs and smiled "Whats up Doc ?"

Mannequin
Thank you Mortll... it does smell....cleaner...*sniffs the bottle*...a lot cleaner!...*Quin giggled in excitement at the clean blood*

Doc
nods to Az in answer to his acknowledgement, then smirked at Mortll's comment. "Mortll."

Mannequin
oh yes!...the fellow with the blood pack I was trying not to follow! *grins*

Amalea
"That would have been him, yes," she laughed. "Evening, Doc."

Nikolae
threw a net over Azraeth when he appeared behind the man. He had just won the game, though it was probable he hadn't informed anyone else one was being played. "Rome." He stated firmly with a nod.

Mannequin
*Quin tries to retain a shred of dignity and sips the virgins blood with her modesty straw*

Azraeth
had a net thrown over him. Not that it shocked him all that much. It was hard to be surprised when your sire was Nikolae Dragomir. "Uh." He said, half twisting. "What about Rome? And yes, I dragged my newest sibling off when he got his hands on some blood. He's got a bit of an addiction I think."

Nikolae
"Raeth you've lost, put up your dukes." He sighed dramatically and fell into a seat haphazardly, legs kicked over the armrest and back leant up against the opposite.

Mannequin
*Quin nods sadly slurping away*

Doc
"Amalea, good to see you." He wandered over to the bar "You're looking well, how are you?" He looked at Mortll, "Bourbon please.."

Azraeth
carefully pulled the net off of himself, and put it to one side, watching his sire flop into a seat. He lifted a dark brow. "I lost? What was I playing?" He asked as he drew a few steps closer to the other man.

Amalea
"Always nice to see you." She smiled, "Keeping busy between running Sanguine and getting things set for the newest venture. Yourself?"

Nikolae
"You were playing fisherman, obviously," he drawled, golden eyes damned near twinkling with amusement as he snatched a bit of lint off his own leg.

Doc
Looking at Amalea, "Actually I am stepping away from business.. I hired a business manager." He smiled at her, "How is your new venture going?"

Mortll
wrinkele her nose and looked at Doc as she started to pour the drink " I dont see why you drink this stuff Vampires are outted "

Azraeth
eyed the man for a moment critically. "And how exactly does the fish win this game?" he asked, his arms folding over his chest loosely. He had a few ideas, and one of them involved a harpoon.

Amalea
nodded, "On to something new or?" She tucked the strand of hair that had fallen into her face behind her ear, "It is coming along nicely. I have a couple more recipes that I want to test before I do a couple trial runs."

Mannequin
*Quin slurping her drink wanders around the area admiring the decor*..."I wonder if there's a duke box in here?" she mumbles as she tries to remember if she fed Gollum before leaving..

Nikolae
"The fish would need a razor, of course," he replied and glanced around the room critically. He'd followed his first borne here intent on winning the game.

Mortll
has very good hering "Juke box is along the back wall darlin if you want some music " She replied to Quins mumbings even though it wasnt directed at her "Nikolae Azaraeth You two look fine this eve can i get you anything to drink ?"

Doc
Doc slid a look at Mortll, and purposely took the highball glass and took a drink, then blew Mortll a kiss. He then looked back at Amalea, "I am pondering politics.. though.. It can be a fickle mistress.. politics. However, I am glad to hear you endevor is working. You are on the cutting edge of things. There will be those that may try to take advantage of you. Keep your eyes open."

Azraeth
kept his gaze glued on Nikolae. "Or, and hear me out on this one." He said as he moved closer, dropping to sit near his sire, one leg crossing over the other so he could rest both palms on a knee. "The fish sets the fisherman on fire, in a tragic yet ironic twist of fate."

Mannequin
*Slightly surprised that she had been heard she turns in Mortll's direction* Thank you!.... ooohh!...very swish!...*Quin spots the Duke Box and grins*

Azraeth
very nearly made a 'Make Canada Great Again' joke when Doc mentioned politics but decided it was too soon or something.

Nikolae
"That's ridiculous, Raeth. How would a fish get ahold of a match?" He scoffed, and ruffled a hand through his own dusty black locks. He flashed a warm smile at Mortll when she spoke. "Hello, beautiful. Whatever's on tap would be perfect."

Azraeth
glanced to Mortll as she addressed him. "I'll have whatever you're having!" He called out. "Great territory thing the other day, by the way." Territory thing. Eloquence at its finest. "I imagine that depends on the fish in question. I don't think anyone would disagree that I'm a bit clever."

Amalea
Amalea made her way over to the bar, smiling at Mortll, "Glass of wine, please. When you get a second, of course." She was a bit surprised at the declaration that he was considering politics, but it wasn't an outlandish idea. She smiled at Doc, "Always. Too many in the city to not do so, especially these days. Politics is fickle at the best of times. Certainly grateful with current affairs elsewhere that Canada is under the Queen's rule."

Mortll
eyed Nikolae " I can arrange a human on tap if you want. but for social gatherings i guess a bottle of Arbor Vitae would be in order" She smiled at Amalea and headed to the bar The Blood thief was no strager to the taste of blood but Mortll doubted that she would appreciate Arbor Vitae and grabed a bottle of white wine as well .

Doc
Doc nodded, "Very fickle.. but I have been talking to others, and since the masq is gone.. it is time for Vampires to be recognized and given protections under the law.. " He smiled ever so slightly.

Nikolae
nodded to Mortll at the offer and wriggled in the chair he was sprawled in. "Sounds perfect, doll." He replied, then squinted at Raeth suspiciously. "You're as clever as they come, Raeth."

Azraeth
heard Doc talking about vampire protections, and that certainly seemed like an interesting topic. He glanced away from Nikolae for a moment. "Thank you, sire-mine. That is high praise coming from you." He said, as he considered the topic posed by Doc. "I think that's a lovely idea. What sort of protections did you have in mind?"

Mannequin
*Quin eyes the choices the Duke Box has to offer with a frown*...."Come on Dolly....where are you..."

Doc
Doc looked from Amalea to Az, "Recognition for a start.." He flicked a glance back at Amalea, "Once we are recognized legally, it would be much harder for an 'uprising' to happen. Things would have to make their way through the courts..."

Mortll
sat the bottle and glass in front of Nikolae and Azaraeth " Im not a Doll and be happy i didnt smack you with that wine bottle for calling me one " She smiled sweetly she turned to Doc and handed him a small box with a red ribbon on it ... "Here you once gave me something that made me smile i think i can return the favor ."

Amalea
"It is certainly a necessity," she nodded. It was surprising that the subject hadn't been broached sooner. While right after the Masquerade had fallen would not have been ideal, leaving it for so long was a double edged sword.

Mannequin
*Having found what she was looking for Quin starts to sway to the music oblivious as usual to the deep and no doubt highly important conversations carrying on around her*

Azraeth
offered a smile to Mortll at her good natured threat, giving the woman a little wink in passing. "I agree with all of that. It's surprising no politicians have stepped up. Creates a bit of a problem though, the minority of vampires who are reckless, or uh...too violent? Yeah. Too violent. "

Doc
Doc was about to reply to Amalea, when Mortll slid a box over to him. He eyed it suspiciously. He lifted an eyebrow and looked at Mortll. "Why do I feel a sense of trepidation.. when I look at that box..?"

Mortll
laughed "You know me too well not to have trepidition Go ahead and open it it dosnt explode or bite though you could pick your nose with it i guess "

Doc
Doc then said in an aside, as he picked up the box, and eyed it hard. "Problem I see Az.. is that last time we had a discussion in this vein.. is people wanted to dictate and impose archaic rules on us.. It didn't fly. This time.. I think we just need tobe recognized. Legally. Not making anyone a Prince,.. or Queen.. but we as a community need to be united." He looked at Amalea, then the box, then Mortll.. "What do you think is in it Lea?"

Nikolae
chuckled after Mortll but took the drink and swallowed down a sip.

Amalea
"It is no different from violent humans, though. Some Paladins are just as dangerous, if not more so, than some vampires. Then again, so are most serial killers." She eyed the box and then Mortll, wondering what the woman was up to. "With protections are going to come some restrictions; the goal would be making sure they are in-line with what humans are expected to adhere to." At the question posed to her, she eyed Mortll again as she sized up the box. With a smile, she laughed softly, "Oh, I think you'll like that if it's what I believe it to be." If it was, she'd have to arrange for a secondary gift later.

Doc
Doc gave Amalea a long silent look, she suspected what it was? He turned his head slowly to eye Mortll. "Alright.. " He untied the ribbon and slowly opened the box. Then pulled it closer to have a look.

Azraeth
recalled the last time order had been attempted by vampires. Or maybe it had been the time before that. He'd seen the rise and fall of two councils, and then this abortion of an idea put together by a few elders. Azraeth himself had always loved the idea of a cohesive vampire community, but everyone seemed to want to do their own thing. Kill ****. Kill each other. Bathe in blood. Sacrifice babies to ancient gods. Marry goats and other such nonsense. He'd essentially given up on the whole thing, but Doc and Lea both posed a very good point. Protections were going to be required at some point. If they were meant to survive in a post-Masquerade world. "I think your toughest job is going to be convincing people that they need each other." He said honestly, glancing briefly back to Niko.

Mannequin
*As the music ended Quin decided to try and mingle....as long as she kept her mouth shut she might even manage to come across and having a basic level of intelligence*

Mortll
smile broadeded "Its her Index finger and its not a matter of convincing them that they need each other ... Its a matter of finding something that works for everyone ... You know better than anyone nobody can agree. So finding something they can all disagree on together might be the key not working together."

Amalea
"I think one thing most vampires can agree on is that no one wants to spend eons or eternity in the Shadow Realm." The human had never been, but just from the stories wouldn't want to spend any significant length of time there. "Something like that might be a starting point."

Doc
Doc held up a finger to Az, "Hold that thought..please" He looked at Mortll pointedly, "Her.. index finger?" He eyed the finger, then looked back at Mortll.. "Who is.. Her?"

Azraeth
wagged a finger at Mortll, giving a little bit of a nod. "You might be on to something there. The only time I've ever seen people work together, it was to try and take someone down. Referencing the Broussard there, but I'm sure there are other examples." He said, before touching his finger to the side of his nose as if to say Mortll had gotten it right. And then he was holding that thought.

Mannequin
*Quin noting the index finger giggled to herself, Gollum liked them as a snack but she wondered what Doc might use it for, her mind in the gutter as usual...*

Mortll
grin broadened "We had a bit of a battle the other night Voodoo Dragons did we took the Quarenteen Zone ... Its your sires Finger darlin "

Mannequin
"Go VD!...wooohooooo!" *it felt like the right thing to do*

Mannequin
*Quin looked about and noticed that no one else was cheering so slunk off looking for another bottle of blood blushing*

Doc
Doc looked at the finger, then gave Mortll a sly grin, "Baby!?" He double checked the finger "You gave me her trigger finger!" Doc caught hold of Mortll's face and pulled her in to a kiss.

Mortll
wasnt expecting the kiss and flailed a little bit

Amalea
snickered softly at the display.

Doc
Doc finally let her go. "This is ******* awesome. It's going the on mantel. Next to Mom and Dad.." Doc swallowed the rest of his drink and gave Amalea and Az a satisfied smirk. "So.. politics.. " He showed the finger to Amalea, and winked. "Its a beaut.."

Mannequin
*Quin phone starts playing a rather revolting rap song*..."Hello?.....Marvalo?....is that you?....just tap for yes honey buns..."

Mannequin
*Quin walks in to quiet corner to talk on her phone*

Amalea
She nodded, "It is. Her heart is currently sitting on my office desk. It makes for a lovely conversation piece." Or at least, it should have been back on her desk by now, if Jen had finished her mold of it. "What were you hoping for, aside from recognition of vampires as an entity under the law?"

Mannequin
"...you got in alright...okay....yes I warned you about the mess....something else is the problem?....ah....did Gollum give you some trouble...right, so it's Gollum...."

Mannequin
*Quin strained to hear the taps on the other end of the phone, which seemed to be rather panicked*

Mannequin
"If you can get to the bathroom you'll find his 'kibble' under the sink....did you catch that?....hello?..."

Doc
"You have her heart? You should have Minx look at it.. she has a flair them..I will make a mental note to snap a photo of it for you.." Then he went all business, "Protection as a group first. Recognized ethnic or whatever label they want to put on it. Fine. We should not have to be held to a stricter level than humans,. there should be consequences for forced feedings. But if they are agreeable, no consequences."

Doc
"We are just like humans,.. we have jobs, we pay our taxes, we want to be with out families. The only difference is .. we cannot tolerate the sun.. and our menu is limited."

Mortll
gave Doc a thoughtfull look " You Know all you have to do is show one of our younger ones being persicuted bullied or being the underdog play to humanitys bleeding hearts "

Amalea
Amalea nodded, making a note to inquire who Minx was later as she wasn't good with nicknames. "Protection is certainly key. It could be the only thing that states in the way of another Holocaust." She certainly was no stranger to what he spoke of given it was very similar to her own thoughts on the matter. "The fewer vampire-specific laws and regulations, the better. Most current laws should cover most situations as is or with minor changes. One major 'issue' to be addressed, for humans, will be how are they expected to punish a vampire that violates the law?"

Doc
"That is tricky. The masquerade is broken, but we cannot allow humans to know the full extent of our powers. If that became common knowledge, then this could bite us int he ***.."

Mordechai
slipped silently down the stairs, eyees roving over the gathered crowd, before migrating in the direction of his 'sister' "Heya quinn" rolled over the seldome used vocal cords.

Mannequin
*hanging up she smiled as her Big bad Broski arrived* "Howdy Brother Death, nice to see you here..."

Amalea
"It is. At the very least, it will require communication. There's a couple ways that could be explored, I think. One would be to seek protections which would allow for humans to turn vampires over to a vampire council for punishment. The other would consist of having a group of vampires that could keep a vampire in human custody mindblocked. Not sure how well either would work in practice." She pondered for a moment, "Keeping somethings hidden could also end up biting people in the *** should a group of humans, such as Paladins, spills the proverbial beans."

Mannequin
*Quin was still very nervous around her 'brother' but as with most things she tended to remain the eternal optimist when it came to dealing with dangerous creatures not eating her alive*

Doc
"But that is not exactly fair.. because we are all different. We do not all have the same abilities. There are those that can mind block, and those that can't."

Mordechai
nodded once to the fledgling noelle had found in the streets, acknowledging her words. His attention stayed on her, but he took in the words of his ...well friend would be strong, acquaintance fit better.. Doc was bring up some interesting points, and it was soon deduced that the fall of the masque was the topic du jour.

Amalea
Lea was aware of that fact, given she acquired different powers from different vampires. It certainly posed a problem when attempting to determine fairness. "It's not the fairest, no. It's a very delicate balance act between how much to disclose to humans beyond what they already think they know and ensuring that accountability is possible. Without the ability for a human law enforcement to hold a vampire violator, the protections would fall shortly after the first few vampires escaped justice."

Mannequin
*the message tone bleeped on Quins phone, quickly turning to read the message she sighed before quickly typed back*

Mordechai
Mordechai looked up, before letting his gravelly voice drift across the room, the low timbre almost vibating the small knickknacks on the table. "Perhaps as was done before... should be done once more"

Doc
looked at Lea, "You have a very unique point of view. You see both sides. I think we could use your input. You bring up points, that are viable, and quite frankly, many of us may discount. But that is the point, we cannot afford to discount even the smallest point." He looked at Mordie, and nodded, "You missed the part where I was saying we need to go for legal recognition under the law..."

Mannequin
*Quins ears pricked up as her brother spoke....she'd only heard him ever say a handful of words in the short time she had 'known' him*

Mortll
"Vampire Councils dont work maybe a hired sherrif or group that could be hired and fired ..."

Mannequin
*daring to join the discussion she meekly threw in her 2c* "Wouldn't be stamped, filed and numbered just make it easier if 'they' decided to round us up?.....we've done it before...I mean humans have...living humans....oh dear" *blushing again Quin closed her mouth before she could stuff the other foot into it*

Doc
Doc looked at Mortll, "See.. that is what we are trying to avoid. A council. We just need a voice. We do not need to be under the thumb of a council." He looked at Quin, "And there wouldn't be a register."

Mannequin
*Quin nodded keeping quiet*

Amalea
nodded at Mord, acknowledging his presence, "What was done before?" She knew of the failed councils but wasn't sure of much else in terms of vampire politics from the early days. The red-head smiled at Doc, "In some ways, I have to see both sides. Blood thieves, to humans, would likely be lumped into the same categorization with vampires should humans learn of them. The fact that we are still, indeed, human would be irrelevant. Aside from that, Blood thieves have a vested interest into the welfare of vampires just as vampires have an interest in not wiping out humans." She saw sense in his statement, but wondered how many would listen to a human, "If I can provide assistance, then I have no issues doing so. My allegiance is not exactly secret."

Mannequin
"I suppose unless you bit someone and then had to go to trial....you'd probably end up a list then...maybe even tagged....it's like that for a lot of 'normal' crimes for humans already.."

Mannequin
*Quin internally worried about her early 'misadventure' when she had just been turned.....would she be in the dock over it sometime soon?*

Doc
Doc looked at Mordi, and then Amalea, He waited to hear what Mordie had to offer. Mordie was older than him. He may have an idea or two.

Mordechai
Mordechai mentally cursed at the way sometimes his thoughts would not slip from his mouth, almost as if he were in some internet chatroom, that kept timing out on his connection, before once more trying to phrase his thoughts.. "None shall register either me or mine. If the problem is that human peacekeepers can not keep the peace, perhaps once more it is time for someone to cry 'Havoc' "

Doc
Doc grinned openly at Mordie, "And let loose the dogs of war!"

Doc
looked at Amalea and then Mortll.. "Sorry.. I actually know that reference.." He looked at Mortll. "Drink!"

Mannequin
*Quin was unfamiliar with what the term 'Havoc' meant, but from the sound of it was a much better option than what ever 'vampire jail' might come entail*

Mordechai
Mordechai nodded "Once... we policed ourselves, and there was fear, but peace. Humans had no clue to our existence. Then came those that refused to embrace their existence... and chose to cling to the false hope they could remain human, if they fed from rats" At this the massive killers lip curled. "A fallacy, and as we can see now, a costly one at that."

Mannequin
"Rat?!!...." Quin was visible shocked at the idea that someone would try to sustain themselves on rats, the rest of the statement would take some processing with her rather addled mind*

Amalea
laughed softly at the reference. "Tagging needs to be avoided. That's for animals and vampires are not animals. Nor should vampires be required to registered on some government list. Both just beg for trouble." She listened to the killer; there was sense in his words and sparked her memory of the time. "And then you had those like Pratt that seemed to hate their existence and did whatever possible to make humans believe vampires were real. Or is my memory of that off?"

Mordechai
Mordechai smiled down at his spechul 'sister' "Yes a select few... have decided that sucking the tainted blood of the sewer dwellers is preferable to feeding properly. These need to be culled."

Mannequin
*Quin looked ill at the thought of 'rats' for food* "Man, and I thought my feeding of winos and drug addicts was a bit low...but yeesh...."

Mordechai
Mordechai gently touched her shoulder. "The need to feed, and the urge to feed, upon humans, does not nessesitate the death, nor injury of the meal. Unlike the lower species, we do not need to kill to feed."

Amalea
raised an eyebrow at the killer for his last statement.

Mannequin
*Quin smiled at Amalea and nodded*..."People just can't be trusted not to good nuts now and then and try to 'clean up the streets'...they keep doing to themselves and it never ends well..."

Doc
(brb)

Mannequin
*She nodded at her brothers words, she had learnt the hard way that feeding didn't need to mean murder...some of them even seemed to enjoy it*

Mannequin
(brb)

Doc
(Sorry .. back)

Doc
"Mordie, I completely agree. Thats why .. we as a people.. obey human law. We do not assault.. we only take what is freely given.." He paused, "But the benefit of having protection under human law... makes it harder for an uprising to happen. Things would have to go through the court system. No vigilante justice.. IF we are recognized legally."

Mordechai
Mordechai let his eyes rest for a moment on the titian haired human amongst obsidian orbs boring into hers for a moment before he winked, "Present company excepted" Turning to face

Mordechai
the speaker "Freely given, or taken, neither matters, as long as death is not involved

Doc
"Agreed.. " Doc smirked, "Except.. what we want Humans .. to believe..." He gave Mordie a look, "Follow me?"

Mannequin
"But legal recognition comes with its rules....would we be expected to be treated any differently to ordinary humans?....how long before we'd be expected to have at least a social security number?..."

Mannequin
"A few generation down the line when these conversation as mostly forgotten, will the fledgling even know what the freedom we have was like?"

Mortll
grimmaced and sat the burbon down in front of Doc " Still if we want them to not fear us ... We have to show vunaribilty The bleeding heart liberals will flock to us if we seem to be persicuted "

Mortll
"We already have them most of us Quinn even if they are fake "

Doc
gave Mannequin a look.. "Precisely why I am stepping away from public life.. " He smiled at her like he would smile at a simpleton. "Let them try to find me."

Amalea
had figured he had been speaking generally, but it was always fun to tease lightly. A nod was given to the killer as she followed the debate. "Most already have documentation and pay taxes, etc. Which will work favorably when protection is sought. If done correctly, there really is no freedom lost." She smiled at Mortll, "What would up suggest in terms of making vampires look like the bullied underdog?"

Mannequin
*Quin giggled at that...fake ID opened so many doors*

Doc
Doc gratefully took the drink, "In the right dosage.. yes.. the persecuted, can be a very valuable card to play. But the right one to play that care? Not so easy to pick.. But even that opens the door to being twisted."

Doc
(care = card)

Mortll
"Rodney King "

Doc
"Yes.. innocent truck driver.. took a massive beat down.. " Doc looked at Mortll, "OPening the door to our regenerative powers.. assing biting."

Mannequin
"Swaying the young might be easier, plenty of those kids seem to think fangs are cool, even sexy....I'd flood the streets with soft core fang bang magazines with a 'tormented soul' angle...hmmmmmm"

Mannequin
*Quin wondered who Rodney King was but thought better than to ask*

Mordechai
Mordechai smiled though it did not reach his eyes, "As a human, I worked for that government, the one that promises us rights... As a human, I was paid to violate those rights, permanently. As a human, I lived in the shadows, none even knew my name, when I was bequethed this evolution. Nothing has changed, noone trully knows me, nor what I do to protect them. None know my name, I live in the shadows now, as I did then, as I will continue to do."

Amalea
"Not to mention, we're talking a beat down by police... which is a touchy subject right now the world over. One of the difficulties will be the depiction of vampires in modern culture. Twilight and their sparkling vampires. Anita Blake, Queen of the Damned, etc."

Doc
"We have to appear sympathetic, and likable." He grimaced.. "That is not me.." he looked at Mordie, "Or him.. " he looked at Mortll, "Or her.. " And then Mannequinn, "Or the freak.."

Mannequin
"Useful though" Quin said to Amalea "Is might grate on the nerves but wanted to screwed and bitten by a vampire is better than them thinking we all wear capes and ravish virgins....well....some do but...."

Mannequin
*Quin raised an eyebrow at Doc* "You know it baby..."

Mannequin
*Grinning she wiggled the end of her tongue at him in a suggestive manner*

Mannequin
*be screwed

Doc
Doc gave Mortll a look, Mortll should know the look. It was the look Doc used on her when he skinned the burgler, "Can..I? Please?"

Amalea
nodded at the valid point raised by Mannequin, "Unfortunately, though, each of those movies or books depict vampires with some pretty extraordinary powers. Enhanced healing, lightning speed, and the like which are things that humans are better off not really knowing about." She thought for a moment, "There's very few that could pull off a persecuted vampire look."

Doc
shot Lea a grateful, finally someone gets it look.

Mannequin
"Louis did a fine job....rats and all" *She giggled*

Mannequin
"Woe is me! my life is a misery!....now show me your neck...."

Mannequin
"Bless Hollywood for easy pickings..."

Doc
Doc drew a long-suffering breath. ******* fledges and supposed humor. Could they never be ******* serious?

Amalea
smiled at Doc before she wrinkled her nose at Quin's statement, "That was disgusting. I much preferred Queen of the Damned." The red-head sighed, "And forget about humans ever finding out some vampires can enthrall humans. That'd be the end of any protections almost on the spot."

Doc
sent a telepathic thought to Amalea.

Mannequin
"Only a matter of time then....."

Amalea
"It's been five years since the elders emerged from the fade and that ability remains hidden. Most of the danger of its discovery is from the enhanced humans, honestly, who are aware of the possibility." She glanced at Doc for a second as she replied to him; telepathy was certainly one of her favorite powers.

Doc
Doc slid a look from Lea to Mordie, then back to Lea. Saying nothing aloud.

Doc
Doc look horrified. Truly .. to the soul horrified.

Mannequin
*Quin noticed Doc's expression and wondered what she had missed, she looked around the room for any signs of trouble slightly puzzled*

Amalea
caught the look on Doc's face. It'd been priceless if she wasn't aware of it's potential source. "So Quin, how would you deal with the human 'issue'?"

Doc
Doc smiled, ever so politely. "I am going to take my leave now." He stood and bowed ever so slightly to Lea and Mortll, as a gentleman would.

Amalea
Lea smiled with a soft incline of her head, "Good Night, Doc. No need to be a stranger."

Mannequin
"If we can't just 'return to the shadows' then get the blood thieves on side, turn as many kids onto it as possible while there young....hook them while there young."

Amalea
"Turn too many, though, and you've exhausted the food supply."

Mannequin
*Quin watched Doc leave wondering what had disturbed him so much....if she'd had much sense she'd have understood the situation*

Doc
Doc pinched the bridge of his nose as he heard the freaks comment. 'Yea.. way to ruin us all freak. Stupid is as stupid does.' he thought as he left.

Mannequin
"Not turn, just a taste....wait a second....we can't eat blood thieves?!!...."

Mannequin
*Quin hadn't tried to feed off a blood thief so far, it was something she might have to try...*

Mordechai
Mordechai patted quinn's shoulder, "I believe they are looking to beging with less intrusive measures"

Mannequin
*Quin looked vacant yet perplexed all at once...tonight had been an eye opening...*

Amalea
"Blood thieves can be fed from but not all are willing to allow it. But if you turn all but them, you lose the powers of a Sorcerer and the benefits of the rare Paladin that doesn't hate the undead. Turning the other humans, means feeding from the same humans over and over which won't sustain an entire colony of vampires. You'd also be relying on the Blood Thieves to reproduce and produce more of a food supply, which isn't going to sit well with all of them. It's essentially a form of slavery."

Mannequin
"So bad plan....dang it I thought I'd solved it then!"...*Quin sighed, it was a hard life with the same IQ as your average road kill sometimes*

Amalea
brb))

Mordechai
Mordechai queried "Is not all life, as they know it.. a form of slavery? How many work, because they want to, not need to... very few. The others, they are all slaves to something. Humans know no other way"

Mannequin
"I supposed the 'day breakers' idea is out then?" *Quin gave a lope sided grin at that, even she knew keeping humans in a blood factory would sit well with many people*

Mannequin
*wouldn't

Mortll
o.o))

Mortll
ok it finaly let me post ))

Mannequin
"Everyone is a slave to someone in life, at least in as a vampire I don't have to clock in to a day job to keep myself fed..."

Mannequin
"True off the grid living is possible when you can sleep under a few feet of earth.."

Mannequin
"Just the ever present 'feeding' issue gets in the way"

Amalea
stared at the pair with a sigh, "Do I even want to ask about the day breakers idea? Could the population of vampires in Harper's Rock honestly wipe out the entire human population of the world? It's the only way that having only vampires and blood thieves remaining would even be viable without the threat of another Holocaust from the general population?"

Mordechai
Mordechai nodded, it is as easy to wash their money of when it was obtained, a fortune can be amassed without a paper trail, none know all that I possess"

Mannequin
"Oh, it was a not totally awful movie...lots of people were turned, pure humans keep in blood factories...."

Mannequin
*Quin smiled at her brother* What good is money when you can take what you want eh?

Mordechai
Mordechai project an image into Amalea's mind [ http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/ori ... -Saint.jpg ] "Yes, little one, even one, can stand alone"

Mannequin
"I wonder how many humans you need to run a farm....then there's resources...health care....arg!...so much management.."

Mannequin
"A mass vampire cull might be in order....so I might just hide up a mountain after all.."

Mannequin
"Live wild like the old times....I assume that's what it was like.... few vampires, many humans.."

Mortll
"There is a diffrence between us and Daybreakers ... With time and learning we can be self sustaiable long as the rift is open "

Mannequin
"True, it wouldn't need to be such a 'dead end'....they didn't plan very well..."

Mannequin
"Very short sighted for being that live forever... hunting the last humans, stock getting old...poor planning"

Mannequin
*beings

Amalea
"So like in one of the Blade movies. Yeah, that likely would not go too well." The little one comment struck a nerve with the red-head and she did her best not to growl, "One against a world of humans would not without multiple trips to the fade, though."

Mortll
"Whos to say there are not other rifts out there we need to really find out if there is I personaly would love to find out what that ******** Cobb did to break it open "

Amalea
"How would you find out about other rifts aside from someone dying in a different area and being able to come back?"

Mortll
"Dont you know ? You have to know the answer to that question think about it... Paranormal activity ... then the reanimation of the dead but finding areas where there is high paranormal activity spirits. I think Rituals may be the key to opening the rift but finding what Cobb did may be lost to us forever "

Mannequin
*Quin considered for a moment, the few cogs in her head sparking and spinning*

Mannequin
"So....a mass grave might work?..."

Mannequin
"Somewhere where a lot of death went on...."

Mortll
"No just need the ability to see and talk to spirits many of us have that "

Mannequin
"Cool!....I don't see dead folk...well, not out of body..."

Mannequin
QZ must have a funky history then...

Amalea
wondered how she had forgotten that. She paired up early on with a group of vampires to find out the origins of a wayward zombie that had appeared outside the QZ. "Think any of the wraiths would have more information? If not the guides, but some that still reside in the fade?"

Mannequin
hmmmm, so a area in the fade with lots of spirits might be a starting point....I'll probably end up there sooner or later..might as well look around a bit

Mannequin
"do the spirits in the fade want to..er...come back?....maybe they gave Cobb a push...

Mannequin
"all that pressure on a small area....cracked it like a egg shell"

Mortll
"Dont go there unless you are prepared for it ... and Cobb who knows why he didnt come back but i think it was good riddance ******** put a bullet in my head my first night as a vampire for simply existing "

Mannequin
*Quins jaw hung open at the information she'd just received* "Sounds like a he got what was coming..."

Mannequin
"Though I think Doc might be happy to do the same to me.." *she chuckled, she was used to having that effect on people*

Mordechai
Mordechai listened a while longer before nodding to each in turn, "I return to the hunt, may we meet again"

Amalea
"Good hunting, Mord."

Mannequin
*Quin smiled and gave a goofy wave to Brother Death* "Good hunting Broski"

Mannequin
"The fade sounds...gloomy....the only thing I'd really worry about if I ended up there would be making sure Gollum was fed..."

Mannequin
"That pup eats like it's going out of fashion..."

Amalea
"Cobb betrayed his own, so it is best he remains lost to the fade lest he will just keep revisiting it should he come back. Is it known what powers he had?"

Mannequin
"I wonder if he could control wraiths..."

Mannequin
*Quin was still working on her half baked Wraith-rupture idea even though it was about as likely as snow falling in Texas*

Mannequin
*her phone gave another message bleep much to her annoyance, reading it she sighed deeply*

Mannequin
"Sorry folks, I have to go...Gollum is trying to eat my current bae..... I should have kept him on dry food..."

Amalea
"Whoops. Good luck sorting that one out."

Mannequin
*Quin grinned* "yeah....first day I let the guy come round and the pup tries to chew his legs off...."

Mannequin
*She gave a quick hug to Mortll and Amalea carefully not to make it too tight*

Amalea
"Remind me not to visit anytime soon," she smiled.

Mortll
"Gollum? Should i even ask ?"

Mannequin
*Quin giggled again* "I'll just make sure he's fed...Gollum's my little pittbull pup, sweets as honey but a bit of a nibbler" *pocketing her phone*

Mannequin
*The phone beeped again* "Better run....see you in the funny pages!" *with a pop Quin vanished...celerity in this case was needed for sure*

Mannequin
o.o.c (night all :) )

Amalea
shook her head in amusement as she gathered the empty glasses from the tables and returned them to the bar. Having been a bartender for a while, it was still a habit of hers.

Doc
returned to his old haunt. It had been weeks since his last visit. He used to be a fixture here. He found he missed teh camaraderie he found here.

Kaelyn
wrinkled her brow up a bit as she saw Doc on her way into the bar. She stopped by here every so often just to see if people were around like they used to be. Maybe he had the same idea? "Doc..."

Doc
headed into the basement of the Voodoo. He was later than he intended. Something had come up. It was a smaller crowd than he expected, as he moved across the room toward the bar.

Amalea
had been running a bit behind as she had changed from her usual work attire into something a bit more suitable for a nice night out. After last night's conversation, she figured a bit more effort was called for though she still wanted that story. Descending the stairs, she was glad to see Doc had already arrived and the place a bit empty. "Hey stranger," she smiled as she approached the bar.

Doc
Doc gave Amalea a lopsided grin. "There you are.. I thought maybe I missed you.. I got help up." He gave her an appreciative look, "You look nice.. that for me?"

Amalea
Amalea shook her head, "I would have waited, but it took me longer to get ready than I planned." Blushing, she nodded slightly, "Thought it'd be nice." Laughing softly, she continued with a sly smile, "Plus it sounded like you had an eavesdropper last night that you might want to torture again later." (( http://68.media.tumblr.com/f4d3dd3820cd ... o1_500.jpg ))

Doc
Doc figured it most likely wasn't but he couldn't help it. It was begging to be said. And as much as they had talked lately, she had not divulged any name or even hint of a significant other. So he felt he had to at least devil her a little bit. It was clear she wasn't even remotely interested in him, so it was surprising when she admitted it was. His lopsided grin became a full fledged smile. "I am honored.. " He pulled out a chair for her, "I did. Cyril was eavesdropping. He tried to pretend otherwise.. but he didn't fool me." He pulled out his cell and snapped a photo of her, "Proof for Cyril.."

Amalea
It was certainly nice to have an occasion where she could dress up; it wasn't like she had someone special to impress. One of the reasons she missed her job at the Necro was that it allowed her the chance to wear the things she loved. She liked her jeans and tees but they had their place just as her dresses did. She smiled as she slid into the offered chair, "Thank you." Laughing, she waited till the flash had gone off before she shook her head, "Oh dear. My assistant said he didn't seem pleased I wasn't able to meet him. That should drive him crazy, I'd imagine."

Doc
After helping her get seated, Doc sat across from her, resting his arms on the table, linking his fingers together easily. "Cyril might have a bit of a crush on you.. at least that is what Troy said. But Troy does like to make things bigger than they really are." He smirked, "Like this case, we are here about... He had it all in his mind that it was a major court case, and he was going to break something wide open. He was sorely disappointed when I told him it was personal thing.. and pulled him off of it."

Ariadne
managed to sail down the stairs, albeit slightly awkwardly, and landed on the back of a chair, giving a soft hoot.

Amalea
Her mind ran in a million directions though she settled for taking things one at a time for the moment. Baby steps, Lea, baby steps. "Sounds right, honestly. He tripped all over himself yesterday when he called and then tried way too hard to make small talk. A lot of interest in camping, suddenly." She shook her head in quiet amusement, "I really can't see him out in the woods with a tent." She'd have to deal with Cyril at a later time, her curiosity had latched on to Doc's last statement. "Poor Troy. He's certainly a go-getter that could turn into an amazing employee down the line. Though, his imagination is a bit grand so I bet he was pretty disappointed." Prying wasn't her thing and it felt safer to let him lead that conversation."

Doc
"Oh he was disappointed. He saw himself center stage in court detailing how he broke the case." Doc smirked, "He even had a lawyer draw up an agreement for his 'story' in case Hollywood was interested in making a movie about it." He chuckled, "He even had a clause for merchandising.. can you imagine.. Little Troy Bobble head dolls .. I do not think so." Doc didn't notice a file on her, "So did you bring the file?"

Amalea
Amalea could only stare as he detailed Troy's obsession with the case. Perhaps he was a bit too eager for his position and would be better off in film. "Has he ever considered a career in something creative like writing or film?" She shook her head, "He seems suited for that with his imagination." Troy bobble heads? The red-head had never met the guy, but she certainly couldn't picture a lab rat bobble-head. "Me neither," she agreed, as she gave him a look; of course she had brought the file. A hand slipped into her bag to withdraw the requested item, "I wouldn't have dreamed of not doing so," she laughed lightly as she set it on the table in front of her.

Doc
Doc reached for the file. He barely resisted the urge to open it right then and there and see what it said. It would be rude. She got all dressed up, and how would that make her feel that he completely blew her off for a piece of paper? Normally he wouldn't care, if it had been anyone else, he would have opened it right then, but he always had a thing for her. He didn't know why, she was never more than polite to him. He picked up the file, folded it, and stuck it in his inside jacket pocket. "So what was the reason behind, holding back part of it? What type of protocol is that?"

Amalea
Amalea wasn't surprised to see the file slide across the table almost as soon as it came to rest. It didn't bother her in the least though she was a bit amazed that he didn't open it immediately like most people would have. Then again, he had said it was personal, so she supposed that could explain it. The question was sound, she had to admit. "One we're going to have to work on," she shook her head. "This is the first time we're had a sample end up with a genetic match. The rest of our partners are hospitals or research facilities. Hospitals only ask for info if there's an issue with a blood product they receive and researchers usually ask for info to set up a study. For those, we initally contact the donors and once they confirm interest, then the file is sent to the researcher."

Doc
Doc nodded. Made sense. But he could not help but wonder. He lifted his left eyebrow slightly, "That is good to know.. because I was almost thinking you didn't trust me. " Knowing how serious Amalea took her job, he was sure that there was copious amounts of notes detailing the release of the information in that file. Perhaps that was her subtle way of saying, 'keep your hands to yourself, no killing this one'. If only she knew. He gave her a cheeky grin. "You do trust me .. right?"

Mortll
walked down the stairs of the Voodoo basement It had been a long week and she had just thrown on some jeans and a shirt pulling her long dark hair back into a pony tail. Tonight was supposed to be work free she had stopped by the Voodoo to pick up a bottle and head back to her apartment and curl up in front of the fire place. She was half suprised to see people there even if it was just a few it had been pretty quiet lately Even more surprised that it was Doc she had not known he was back from his trip yet. It was a good sign that he wasnt avoiding her at least she thought as she walked over to the table where he sat with Amalea . "Hello Amalea ... Charles ."

Mortll
http://cdn23.us1.fansshare.com/photos/m ... 605420.jpg

Amalea
Amalea couldn't help to wonder if she was babbling again. It wouldn't surprise her given it one of the odd little ways she tended to express her nervous energy, which was certainly high tonight. Her head shook as she chuckled, "Oh dear, that certainly wasn't the reason." If she had known the file was for a personal project, he would have had it the night Troy had contacted her. "Yes, I trust you ...implicitly." She nearly jumped in her seat with Mortll's arrival not having seen the woman come in, "Evening, Mortll."

Doc
Doc grimaced and gave Amalea a surreptitious look of warning. She called him Charles. She never called him Charles. She must be regretting what she said the last time he saw her. He would play it cool. Act like it never happened. If he was lucky, he might get out of here without bloodshed. Formally he acknowledged Mortll. "Good evening.." He stood and pulled out a chair for Mortll, "Join us.."

Mortll
smiled and sat "You look nice tonight Amalea if i was a full time lesbian id ask you out for drinks ..." she winked at the other woman. She was only half kidding. "How was Italy Doc ?"

Amalea
Amalea smiled as she wonder what on earth she had done to have two completely different people indicate their interest. Mortll, she was pretty sure was joking... maybe; she wasn't entirely sure on that. "Thank you," she laughed softly, "you don't look half bad yourself." Italy? That was news to her as she hadn't even known he had gone on a trip,

Doc
Doc reseated himself, and gave Amalea a wide eyed look. What the ****? Was Amalea a lesbian? And he never knew? No wonder she never gave him the time of day. Then Amalea smiled and returned Mortll's compliment. **** me. Doc looked between Mortll and Amalea, and then finally noticed the Owl. Oh yea.. the stars were all aligned.. just right.. and he was the target. His tone was rather absent, as he nodded, "Italy was great.. "

Ariadne
blinked... slowly, and groomed the feathers on her left wing.

Amalea
The red-head caught that look and nearly burst out laughing. She certainly was not a 'full time lesbian' as Mortll had put it. Frankly, she had no concern with a person's gender as it was their personality she was drawn towards. She gave him a look with a short shake of her head. Later, she'd had to set him straight if he didn't 'get it' from that look. It could explain some things. Hell, at this rate, she had a suspicion she was going to have a lot of explaining to do. "Great is good, I think?"

Doc
Doc grinned, and then somewhat laughed to himself. All this time, years really, he thought Amalea just completely didn't like him. And it turned out she was a Lesbian all that time. It wasn't him after all. She just didn't swing that way. He gave both Mortll and Amalea a grin. This explained so much. He had seen her shake.. that she wasnt into Mortll.. but he was rather relieved. "Great is awesome.. " He relaxed back in his seat. He felt much better now.

Mortll
"Did you find anything interesting ?" She aimed towards Doc She wasnt sure what she had interupted but her arrival seemed to have changed the conversation then she noticed the Owl pearched on the back of the chair " Ummm Not sure who you are but if you could assume a more human like form its unlikely a health inspector will ask to come down here but since the Masquerade is broken i have been expecting something of the sort. So if you could Please i would appreciate it ... or am i going to have to call animal control because i have a actual owl that has gotten in the place somehow ?"

Amalea
"I'm glad you had a great trip," she smiled, glad he seemed to relax a bit. Only when Mortll mentioned the presence of an owl did Lea actually realize that they hadn't been as alone as she thought. Curiously, she waited for the answers to both of the woman's questions.

Ariadne
ruffled her feathers in a miffed fashion, shedding a few on the chair. She quickly hopped to the floor and obliged the request, the rest of her feathers transforming into her normal form.

Ariadne
Clothed, btw. https://s-media-cache-ak0.p i n i m g.com/56 ... 8a7ec0.jpg ))

Doc
"Yes.. Yes we did find some interesting things. It was educational. And .. it was really quite lovely there. I never knew what was meant by 'olde world charm', now.. I do. It isnt an easy thing to put into words.." He winked at Ariadne, Good evening Ari.."

Mortll
" Thank you and Welcome Ariadne I love that dress ..." She smiled at Doc " I have been meaning to go but since that paladin mess Italy is too risky for me too much of the Catholic church and those idiots orginate from there... Ive always wanted to personaly go and find some of the old world roses that grown in the gardens there "

Ariadne
plucked a feather out of her hair and smiled. "Good evening, Doc. Mortll. Amalea."

Amalea
"Evening, Ari," she smiled as she greeted the other woman. She was content to quietly listen to the discussion about the old world. It was interesting even if she wasn't completely sure what had spurred the trip in the first place.

Doc
Doc eyed Mortll and Amalea, personally he couldn't see it.. and Amalea didn't have the jones to go there, but.. stranger things have been known to happen. "I can honestly say that I didn't pay attention to the flora and fauna there. My time was spent in research. However, still very educational. And I wouldn't mind going back.. But I think I am needed here for now."

Kaelyn
hopped down the stairs, her blonde curls bouncing as she did so. She made her way over to her Papi and pushed a smooch to his cheek...even if he was in the middle of something.

Amalea
Amalea raised an eyebrow at Doc, wondering what he was thinking. Rather than go there, she just stuck to asking a simple question. "How is that project going?" Finally, a safe topic, the red-head thought. Or rather, safe to discuss; the actual execution was likely to be a bit dodgier

Doc
Doc mussed Chub's curls as he nodded at Amalea, "I have gotten some feed back.. most of it has been positive.. but some has taken the point that we.. should let the humans act on their own without our instigation. That is not my preference.. but I am curious as to the other thoughts that are out there. I am firmly of the mind that we need protections under the law as a group."

Kaelyn
accepted the mussing and then took a seat, listening. Sounded like politics. That wasn't a fun conversation.

Ariadne
took a seat and fiddled with her owl feathers

Mortll
grinned " You know if half of them knew how we protected them ... but that would be a huge mistake to even let out there ... Amalea here is a hell of a fighter " she winked at the woman

Mordechai
continued to sit cloaked in the shadows listening to the conversations

Amalea
"Evening, Kaelyn," Amalea absently greeted the new arrival. Her mind was occupied digesting the feedback Doc had gotten. She wasn't so sure about the idea that humans should be left alone; one wrong instance could turn the situation nasty real fast. Vampires would be left to play the defensive position rather than meeting them as "equals". Sighing softly, she rolled her eyes at Mortll's statement. "They shouldn't find out just how protected or different vampires are. Humans naturally tend to fear those who are different from themselves. Waiting till there's a situation means negotiating is done from a disadvantaged position which rarely works out well. Honestly, the best bet is to approach before there's problems, before they become fully aware and start focusing on those differences. But to approach them as equals by essentially giving them a very watered down version of what it means to be vampire."

Doc
Doc noted the wink between Mortll and Amalea. Interesting. How did he miss that .. all this time? He pulled at Chub's ringlets. Pulling them straight, to watch them spring back into a coil of curls. "The meetings will be to get all views. I was hoping that I could garner independent thinking. To envision how the protections under the law would protect the weakest among us. As you say Amalea.. It is true not all of us, would need or utilize the protections, we would have things in place for such an eventuality.. but not every one has a proactive sire or lineage."

Kaelyn
smiled adorably at Doc as he pulled on her curls. She didn't understand the conversation or what was going on at all, so would stay out of it. Fingers wiggled towards Amalea in greeting. "Hello, Amalea."

Mortll
thought about the Trainwreck that was Worthington when Doc spoke about lineage "Well It would be absolute absurdity to require people to act responsibly about sireing " Mortll rolled her eyes

Doc
((Doc is out. Night!))

Mortll
"Hows it going Kaelyn ?"

Kaelyn
Not too bad. How are you?

Mortll
"Not bad ... could be worse "

Kaelyn
runs and pounces on the Papi "PAPI!!!!"

Doc
is glomped upon in a sudden blitz attack. "**** me.. " He grabbed the bar to steady himself. "Chub.. you aboutgave me a coronary...

Amalea
quietly crept down the stairs wondering what mayhem would present itself tonight.

Kaelyn
smooched his cheek "You'll live...kinda. I missed you. Why haven't I seen you? Where have you been? Or maybe I've just not been around as much. But I missed you!" She then proceeded to smooch his other cheek and cling to him

Doc
is there, with a clinging grandspawn plastering his face in wet sloppy smooches. "I've been in Italy.. and Germany.. it was business.. for **** sake.. " He tried prying her free, but she was a wiry spider monkey grabbing and clinging with the stickiness of superglue.

Mortll
had a pencil shoved behind her ear and a pair of black rimmed glasses pearched on her nose the glasses were useless just a prop but it had become a habbit of hers to have them on when she was doing invetory. She came out of the storage room and started to go to the cooler when she spotted the small group "Hello " She pushed the glasses up onto her head and started towards the bar "Anything i can get for you tonight ?'

Amalea
snickered at Doc being attacked by Kaelyn. She waved as she passed by on her way to the bar, figuring she'd wait till it was safer to say hello. "Evening, Mortll."

Kaelyn
hit his arm "You didn't tell me you were going out of the country! Why didn't you tell me!? Why didn't you take me with you? I want to go to Italy and Germany. I've never been." She was practically glaring at the man now before hearing Mortll's voice. She turned and smiled, waving at her a little. "Jack and Coke, please!"

Doc
"Pfft" He gave Mortll a look, while spider-monkey-Chub-Kaelyn still clung to him. "Because.. It was BUSINESS Chub.. not fun and games." He rolled his eyes, "You know what I want Mortll.. " not that it did anything for him. It was the impression he wanted to project. He yanked the Chub;s hair harder than he needed to, because she bit him. Then he spied Amalea, and gave her a.. '******* save me!" look.

Kaelyn
grumbled at the tug "It could have been fun after the work time!"

Doc
Doc ignored Chub's comment. There were times he needed to focus without distraction. And Chub could be a distraction. He ignored it because she was right. Even if he wanted to pretend it wasnt true, it would be a lie. The Chub was fun in a dysfunctional, demented, erratic way. But he would never tell her that. He would never hear the end of it.

Amalea
"Would you really have wanted to leave Stagger for such a time?" she queried of Kaelyn. The red-head had seen the look Doc gave her; she knew it well from past occasions. "Would have been dull, I think, to wait around till the business was done just to have a bit of fun." She shrugged lightly, "There's plenty around here to get into at night if you want some fun."

Kaelyn
didn't need to hear it. She knew her Papi truly enjoyed having her around >.> even if he acted all gruff and grumpy and like he didn't. "Fine. Then you can make up for it now! After we leave here, we can go do something!" She then glanced to Amalea "It would have been fine. He could finally get caught up with work. And I would just go shopping and stuff while I waited for Papi. It COULD have worked and been fun."

Doc
could have pulled Amalea in a full body hug for that. However, he down played his reaction to a non-chalant answer. "She has a point.. and I have a Cyril for that.."

Kaelyn
What's a Cyril?

Doc
"Cyril is a business manager..."

Kaelyn
See! He could have managed your work and we could have played!

Amalea
"Don't forget not every city has a wide expanse of night-time activities," she smiled. "Most European shops close early, especially those not in larger cities. The culture is different there."

Mortll
sat a Jack and coke and a Scotch on the bar and raised a eye " You dont want to go to Itlaly its full of Paladins no place for a vampire "

Doc
nodded and gestured toward Amalea. "she's right. You should listen to her.. "

Doc
took his drink and downed it and pushed the empty back to Mortll. "Please.. " he said overly.. sweetly.

Kaelyn
rolled her eyes "I still want to go. No one there needs to know."

Doc
"Tell the Stagger to take you.."

Amalea
"Glass of whatever red you have, please?" she smiled at Mortll as she shook her head in amusement at Doc's statement. It was nice to see that childhood trips to Europe came in handy for something. "Would be a nice honeymoon idea."

Kaelyn
But I wanted to go with youuuu. He would take me. He'll take me anywhere. Maybe I'll ask him.

Kaelyn
thought about Amalea's words "Could be...I'll discuss with him and see what he wants too"

Doc
Doc was horrified by the honeymoon comment. what the **** was Amalea on about?! He was already married. And So was Mortll.. and Chub was too ******* young.

Amalea
"Saving such a trip for a special occasion would make it that much more worthwhile. But at least, it's an option, otherwise there's always later."

Kaelyn
noticed horrified look and stuck her hand behind her back

Kaelyn
used other hand to sip at her drink and pretend she didn't notice horrified look.

Doc
Doc needed to change the subject. "Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is outl.. anyone seen it yet?

Kaelyn
shook her head and bounced a little "No! Do you want to!? We can go see a movie!"

Doc
"the Baby Groot.. is .. um.. Cute." Yes.. Females should agree tot hat!

Amalea
"Not yet," she silently laughed at the abrupt change of subject given she could assume the reasoning. "Trailers looked pretty good though."

Doc
"Why dont we all Go!?" What the **** had he gotten himself into!?

Mortll
laughed and pulled down a bottle of Famous Black Grouse and sat it on the bar if he was going to down them like that he could play his own barmaid. "Yeah Honeymoon whos getting married ?"

Kaelyn
grinned widely. She couldn't even contain that one. However, she tried to hide that grin from the Papi

Doc
Doc wanted to strangle Mortll. Could she not understand desperation!? -.- Apparently not.

Mortll
was oblivious to Docs angst she looked at Amalea "Lea you are looking particularly ravishing tonight Red as in blood or wine my dear ?"

Doc
Doc pinched the bridge of his nose. "Movie it is...

Doc
"*At least this way they would all be quiet.* And I am buying!

Amalea
looked at Doc oddly, wondering what had possessed him to suggest such a thing. She smiled at Mortll, "Wine, please."

Kaelyn
Can we snuggle during the movie?

Mortll
raised a eyebrow a grin on her face "Even Pop corn to pelt the Jocks with ?" she asked as she was fixing The red head her wine

Doc
Doc cringed. "No. Snuggling is allowed in public theaters."

Kaelyn
Yes it is...I snuggle Stag all the time

Mortll
snorted "Tell that to the meat heads that take their dates there "

Amalea
"Key words... date and meat heads," she laughed.

Doc
'**** me people." He looked at the three of them. "It's movie time.. No snuggling. Just Movie.. "

Mortll
"He hasnt taken me to a movie since we dated this should be interesting " Mortll knew she was pushing it he might shoot her soon.

Mortll
"Amalea you want to **** him he just offered ?"

Kaelyn
...gag

Doc
Good. God.

Doc
Doc hung his head.

Doc
"Ok.. Movie.. meet me there.. if you want.. ifyou dont its cool."

Doc
left.

Amalea
blinked at Mortll, "What is your obsession with that?"

Mortll
"With what ? you have to be specific i have many obsessions "

Kaelyn
smirked as he left. She'd follow soon. "He's going to flip when I tell him."

Amalea
"Between you and Rowan, I swear you two would love to see me knocked up with fadebabies on a continuous basis. Especially his." she gestured at the wisely-retreating male.

Mortll
A wicked grin spread across her face "Fadebabies are harder than what you think and I tease Doc on a regular basis ... That isnt going to change and i like you so i Tease you as well as with most people i like ... He takes things too seriously sometimes it does him good to lighten up and he does with enough prodding So dont expect it to stop anytime soon "

Amalea
shook her head, "Heaven forbid. The world would end." She grinned impishly.

Mortll
"Now what is he going to flip about Kaelyn and ill buy you a bucket of popcorn extra butter to actually eat Lea ? Did he actually say which theater he was heading to ?"

Amalea
"He doesn't seem to know she's engaged," she laughed. That could end up being more amusing than the movie to watch, if she was honest. "No, he may have forgotten to mention that key bit of information."

Kaelyn
shrugs and smiles "I may or may not have actually come out and told him about my engagement."

Mortll
shrugged "probably Old Town Theater ... if not i can locate him fairly easily. You girls want to share a ride ?

Kaelyn
nods some "That's fine."

Amalea
"Sounds good to me."

Mortll
"Doc is horrible with weddings ...It will be ok long as you dont put him in the positon of making a speach cause he will be screaming not to do it in his head all through the ceramony if not verbaly "

Kaelyn
smirks "I won't ask him ahead of time to make one. I'll do it on the spot!"

Mortll
"He was best person at mine and i swear he said it at least 3 times during the ceramony once out loud "

Kaelyn
snickered a little "I know he doesn't want me getting married. He thinks i"m too young."

Amalea
laughed softly, "He left Nix's fairly early on in the reception. Then again that entire reception was a mess."

Kaelyn
He will stay for the whole thing. I won't allow anything else.

Mortll
"What you gotta be 20 now or 21 ? thats plenty old and you got a long time. Nix had major daddy issues " Mortll had worn the death wounds for a week to prove it

Kaelyn
I'm 18. But it'll be fine

Amalea
"I don't even remember what happened that he left. Reception just went to hell after that since some of the guests took exception to a human being present. Though, oddly enough...they hadn't figured that out until introductions were made," she shook her head.

Mortll
"She bonded Blake didnt she ?" In Mortlls eyes that was enough to make anyone want to leave her and Blake had never gotten along not that her and Pheonix were much better

Amalea
"She did," she acknowledged. "The male version...not this female-femme-fatale-wannabe."

Kaelyn
fiddled with the shiny ring on her finger "I don't think I want a big wedding...whenever it happens."

Amalea
"Whatever you want will make you happier than trying to conform to what is expected of you."

Kaelyn
smiled "Nothing is expected of me. I can literally do anything I desire...I have no one to tell me I can or can't do anything really"

Amalea
nodded

Doc
Doc was at his usual table. It wasn't the best seat in the place. But it wasnt the worst either. It gave him a good view of people coming and going, and he had his back protected.. mostly.

Rocklin
Rocklin wasted no time making his way to the table across from Doc, checking the room for exits or cover should violence break out. He liked to be prepared. He nodded to the other as he seated himself.

Elizabeth
Unlike the others, Elizabeth made her way into the basement and headed for the bar after giving Rocklin a smile and nod of her head. The woman in white and gold made herself comfortable and ordered herself a bouborn on the rocks.

Doc
returned the silent regard, and silently wondered if he was supposed to know him. He did appear vaguely familiar. But that was it. Perhaps it was nothing more than .. a polite gesture. He signaled the bartender, holding up two fingers and then pointed to his table. He was here enough that the bartender knew what it meant.

Doc
"Lizzie!" Doc stood and followed her, eyeing the nice way she filled out the dress. He propped against the bar and gave her a lopsided closed lipped smirk. The bartender slid Doc his drink, and then slid Lizzie hers; causing Doc to grin openly.

Rocklin
With a nod of his head to Elizabeth, he too offered a smile. Though his was a little more crooked, emotions were never his strong suit. He noticed the bartender delivering drinks and held two fingers up as well, speaking in a mutter of a tone, "Shot of whiskey, bring the bottle please."

Elizabeth
"Good evening, Charles." She said with a tip of her head, before looking back at Rocklin. "Do not let me interrupt anything." She took the drink and took a slow sip of the dark liquor. "Do you know Rocklin?"

Doc
Doc raised his eyebrows at her with a grin, (http://imageshack.com/a/img922/1702/N0vqKM.gif ) "Is that Italian? It looks Italian.." He then looked at Rocklin, then back to Lizzie, "Not I recall. But I am old.. I forget things.."

Rocklin
Rocklin nodded to the bartender as the shot glass and bottle were delivered to him, reaching into his pocket and handing them a one hundred dollar bill. "Thank you." he muttered before removing the cap from the bottle of Forty Creek, and filled the shot glass with the whiskey. His eyes looked to Doc and Elizabeth before speaking loud enough for them to hear. "It's been a long time since I walked these streets. Rocklin Naarc, a pleasure to meet you, Doc." and he smiled once again to Elizabeth. He'd missed her.

Elizabeth
Elizabeth looked down at her outfit and lifted a shoulder in a casual shrug. "I cannot recall, as you know, I too am old." She took another sip of her drink, blue eyes on him, before Rocklin made his presence a little more well known. "A long time indeed." Elizabeth admitted after Rocklin gave his introductioon.

Doc
"Welcome back. Have things changed much?" He asked politely, not really expecting an answer, he only asked because Lizzie made a point to introduce him, and include the male in he conversation. "But my dear Lizzie.. you age like a fine wine.. and get better with each passing moment.." He shrugged, "I on the other hand.. well.. just old." He looked at Lizzie, then Rock, then Lizzie. Ah. He brought his drink to his lips.. "To old friends..."

Rocklin
Rocklin knocked his glass back, swallowing all the whiskey it contained before he set it back down on the table. Reaching for the bottle, he took his time to refill his glass. He watched the liquid settle within as he considered his response to the question asked. "Everything has changed." he spoke a little lower this time, but that's because the last time he'd been around and part of this city he was trying to keep the humans from finding out they existed.

Elizabeth
"If you are looking for a compliment, I am not going to give it..." She teased Charles, before giving him a raise of her brow. She was not going to get drunk or sick. "Old friends." Elizabeth agreed, before sipping at her drink, then turning to face Rocklin. "Imagine two hundred years going by without one knowing it...the changes...change is inevitable, no matter how much we fight it, Rocklin." Elizabeth's attention shifted back down to the white blouse she was wearing. It was Italian and she knew it.

Doc
Doc could be polite, and play nice. But that just wasn't in his makeup. His inner demon was warning him.. not to do it. To keep things nice, but where was the fun in that? He knew he should do it.. but some things just couldn't be avoided. They needed to be brought out .. so.. he and others knew where things stood. He held his hand out to Lizzie. It was a small but telling gesture.

Rocklin
Rocklin didn't seem to care much whether Doc participated in the conversation or not. While he was active and growing in this city he was never accused of being nice. "I understand." he replied, not making a big deal out of any of this. His eyes looked up as he took his next shot, landing on Mortll.

Elizabeth
Elizabeth took the offered hand from Doc with a smile, and then nodded appreciatively towards Rocklin as he dropped whatever it was he was hinting at. "Do enjoy yourself, Rocklin. Some moments and encounters go by so quickly." Her attention shifted back to Doc, as she stood. "Treat me to a dance?" She asked, blue eyes still upon him, as her other hand set his drink aside.

Mortll
had made a stop by the Winery for a fresh batch of Arbor Vitae her agrement with Aridane was a profitable one she only served the Wine by the glass. She placed the case of blood behind the bar in the cooler that was tempreature regulated for it then took a quick assesment of the place. She was surprised to see the crowd that was here tonight she wasnt quite expecting to See Elizabeth this was by far her normal hang out but the bigger surprise was Rocklin

Mortll
" Hello Doc Elizabeth ... Rocklin nice to see you about again The Masquerade falling is a adjustment for us all being nice to humans at least publicly gets us brownie points "

Doc
Doc nodded to Mortll, and then gave Lizzie a look, ( http://imageshack.com/a/img923/2179/oywRYQ.gif ) and grinned, "Your wish.. is my command." He released his drink and let her remove it from him and set it on the bar top. Taking her hand he led her to the open area of the floor, then pulled her close, moving a slow tango style, as it seemed appropriate by the sound of ambient music playing.

Elizabeth
"Good evening, mortll." Elizabeth acknowledged the woman on the way to the floor. Mortll had no idea how right she was. In truth, Elizabeth feared the humans more than her fellow kindred, given most were...timid. "Thank you." She acknowledged Doc's patience with Rocklin, before they started to dance. "He is an old family friend and does not realize how different things are from then to now." Though, that was not her or Doc's fault either...

Rocklin
Rocklin had no intentions of making a big stink about anything, and ultimately had no agenda at the current time. All he did was answer a question. He smiled to Mortll and had finished his drink before standing and motioning to a chair at his table. "Would you like to join me for a drink?" he asked, disregarding the mention of the masquerade. Where protecting it brought a lovely business to Rocklin in the past, he could sense where he wasn't all that welcome.

Mortll
With Doc occupied by the mad Queenie Mortll didnt have much else to do and it had been a really long time since she had spoken to Rockllin "Sure what is your Poison We have everything here even blood if you prefer ?" She took the chair he had offered and signaled the bar keep for her usual '

Doc
"To be honest, Lizzie, I do not think even I am clear on how much things have changed." He swung her out then then pulled her close again. "Yes things change.. but there is much still hidden in the darkness, that we do not see. But it is not us.. that is hiding now.. it id how the populace really feels about us.. " He swayed with her, "As I am sure you know jsut as well.. as I.." He dipped her, then slowly pulled up her to him.

Rocklin
His hand motioned to the bottle of Forty Creek sitting in the middle of the table and as Rocklin shook his head he returned to his seated position. "I am all set, thanks. How have you been?" he asked in genuine curiosity. The bottle was captured by the vampire and he lifted it to refill his shot glass, going on number three. It had been so long since he tasted whiskey that he had already gathered a light buzz, and knew it was time to slow down.

Ariadne
slipped in and settled herself somewhere in a secluded booth along the wall with her tablet.

Mortll
"Well to be honest its been good for me. The city has changed since the Masque fell Gangs have flooded into the city and they are not all quite human ...So insead of focusing on keeping other vampires in line a few of us have been focusing on keeping the gangs in check Making sure they dont overun the city. Business has been good. So where did you get off to ?"

Elizabeth
Elizabeth's eyes found Doc's set as he pulled her up to him and remained there as a hand came to rest on Doc's chest, before she moved around him. When she was behind him, Elizabeth finally spoke, "Perhaps that is something one should bring up at the next meeting, that one neglected to personally inform me about?" Her blue eyes landed back on Doc's face as Elizabeth finished moving around him in the typical tango form.

Rocklin
Rocklin had glanced to Ariadne for a moment before returning his attention to Mortll. "I've been here and there, keeping to myself. It took me a long while to live with the piece of the Shadow Realm I brought back with me." he confessed, laughing a little. "It seems there is never any shortage of work that needs to be done in this city." he mentioned, lifting his glass to take a small sip.

Doc
Doc winced. "**** me.. " It was uttered under his breath. "You are right. I apologize." He pulled her close again, then put her in a dip, his head lowered, and he slowly pulled her up from the dip back in to his arms, "My sincerest apologies." He wanted to added that he could be single minded. Easily forgetting things that meant much to him. In this case Lizzie. But he didn't. He saw it from her point of view. She wouldnt want to his excuse, any more than he wanted to hear Cyril's when Cyril fucked up.

Mortll
grined and raised her glass " No rest for the wicked " she smiled at Rocklin "So what are you planning on doing now that you are back ?"

Elizabeth
Elizabeth was well aware of his one tracked mind at times and she had let a few days slip by before she took any...action. Her arms found his neck and a hand came to his face as she looked up at him. "I just wanted to make certain that we both find the idea of...supporting the other appealing, is all." Her lips quirked into a trademark smirk as she continued to follow his lead.

Doc
Doc had subtly braced for a very cool response. Her blue eyes coldly shredding him, and was most perplexed when it did not happen. "You are a far more forgiving person.. than I deserve." It was said as though he were still trying to figure out why she had not pressed her advantage. She had the opening, the superior ground, and he was willing to accept defeat as her due. Yet she did not press her advantage. As the music ended, he released her gently, still trying to figure out what just happened.

Elizabeth
Elizabeth had no doubt that it would happen again, and again. She had been bested with her 'gift' to him, but next time she would make a much stronger point to convery her message. With Doc it was a live and learn experience in regards to his responses. "I believe you may have company, and I have an unfinished drink." her eyes shifted to Mortll, the woman who owned the bar and then to Ariadne. "Thank you for the dance." Elizabeth dipped her head cordially to Doc, before she moved to the bar.

Mortll
Mortll was used to having guys disapear on her but never quite in the middle of a question ... She blinked then turned her attention to the couple on the dance floor dancing that was when she noticed Ari she stood walking over to the womans table " Hello Miss Ariadne Its a fine eve can i get you anything tonight ?"

Mordechai
slipped quietly to the basement surveiling those in attendance

Rocklin
Rocklin had returned to his previous seat and drink, looking to Mortll. "Forgive me for that." he muttered before answering the question she'd asked before his sudden departure. "I intend to do what I set out to from the beginning. Make myself a home." he spoke with honesty in his corner. There were no major plans in his future outside of survival.

Mortll
smiled at the man "Well its a good place for a home ive found ... but its not without a fight to make one here No easy feat in this city to survive I think its going to take alot more Too. "

Mordechai
The killer knew most of the attendees, even the one he was unfamiliar with, he was sure shamus had pointed him out at some time in the distant past. Moving deeper into the room he gave passing nods to those who turned his way, before dropping his elbows on the bar next to the queen of harper rock

Rocklin
The male nodded to her words. That was what he had remembered. "It's never been quite easy to make yourself at home here." he mentioned before reaching for his previously poured drink. "Sometimes the best things you could have in any form of life needs to be fought for." -- And has not only met Mordechai he has also worked with him due to his affiliation with Jacinthe. The two were never friends, but he did look to the other and offer a single nod.

Doc
Doc was thoroughly confused. He had been ready to let her fire at will.. and he would have taken it. But she did not, and this was.. confusing to him. The last time he forgot to tell her something, his bar paid the price. His bartender demanded extra pay. But this time.. when it was a repeat offence, and she mere acquiesced to his acknowledgement? It had to be the eclipse. Yes. Somehow.. the Eclipse saved his ***. He followed Lizzie to the bar, he also had a drink to finish, and he wasnt going to run out on her now.. not after she forgave him. He hadnt seen the Ball and Chain in months, and she was still causing ****. Someone who forgives him when he was obviously in the wrong? No. No bailing on her.

Elizabeth
The presence of the larger, taller male did not go unnoticed by the woman wearing white and gold. Elizabeth turned her attention to him and gave him a small dip of her head. "Good evening, Mordechai." Elizabeth scooted over just in case he was in the mood to start smelling her again. "Will you be drinking this evening?" She picked up her drink, and then Doc's and offered to him as he sat besides her.

Doc
Doc took the proffered drink, took a sip and nodded to Mordie. "Mordie.. " He frowned ever so lightly as he sent a telepathi message to someone, before fully re-engaging with Lizzie and Mordie.

Mordechai
"Hello Doc, your Majesty," He watched as Liz stepped back from him...curious he let his preternatural senses spread out in the faint scents of the room. A smile lit his face as he caught the faint scent that had been missing when last they met. "I see you have found the solution to your problem," his eyes drifted minutely to her side, "Was Doc able to assist?"

Doc
Doc tried not to look like he was not as lost as he was... What was he supposed to have helped with? and **** him.. if by his preoccupation he let Lizzie down again!? ****! Oh by her not taking the shot, she had skewered him good. Now he was being made to see what a colossal asshole heel he was.

Elizabeth
"Hmm?" Elizabeth asked, feigning ignorance. "I never had a problem before, you assumed I did." Elizabeth countered before glancing towards Doc as she brought her drink to her mouth and sipped the rest of it down. "Do you have a problem that needs Doc's assistance?" She inquired innocently, as eyes returned back to Mordechai

Elizabeth
Mortll: ok i hit the wrong thing kicked myself out of chats and now having trouble getting back in )

Mortll
Back whew ))

Doc
Doc took the opening that Lizzie tossed at him, "What is it Mordie? I'm happy to be of service. Just say the word.."

Mortll
crossed her legs as she studdied the man on the other side of the table "So have you been able to contact many of your family since you have gotten back ?" It was always good to have family and friends to assemilate when there was a long absence and things had changed. Those that found themselves alone she had noticed many times didnt quite make it or stay long .

Elizabeth
glanced over at Charles and then slipped a thought into his mind...'I do not think you could service him in the way he seems to be needing.' Elizabeth laughed softly into her empty glass, then set it down before asking for another.

Doc
Doc sent a telepathic message back to Lizzie, "Since I have no idea what he is referring to.. I am almost scared to think what would happen if he suddenly said... yes.."

Mordechai
Mordechai raised taller looking around, as he ignored the jab from the one he had tried to help. "Doc, did you see what happened to your friend? Mz Ari?

Rocklin
With a shake of his head, he gave his answer before finishing his drink. "The only person I've even attempted to reach out to has been Nikolae." he mentioned, the Noble lineage having had nothing to do with him for much longer than before he left. "The only people from my past I've seen so far, are you and Elizabeth."

Doc
Doc looked to the corner, and saw she wasn't there. He frowned. "Hmmm No. I did not." He looked to Mortll, and sent her a telepathic message, ~When did Ari leave?~

Elizabeth
A new drink was set out in front of her, which Elizabeth gladly took and began to sip on. She pressed her lips together after she took a drink, trying not to laugh at what Doc had thought towards her, as her eyes looked around for Ariadne. She too had not seen her leave, but it was evident she had. "I do not believe I have seen thee in the castle much, Mordechai." A general observation at best.

Mortll
"Nikolae is around ... but no one hardly ever sees him Azaraeth is around he works with Voodoo Dragons just as a few others here do she nodded toward Mordie then shot Doc a look as he spoke in her mind " I dont know she came in sat down i asked her if she wanted a drink next thing i know she was gone maybe she didnt like you and Lizzy queen dancing " she shot back at him in her mind before turning her attention back to Rocklin

Rocklin
He nodded. It was good to hear Nikolae was still standing. He was never very close with Az, but the two have done a lot of business together. He seemed to relax hearing familiar names. "I have my ways of getting him out of hiding." he spoke in reference to Nikolae, and as he leaned back he slid his glass away. "Tell me about these Voodoo Dragons?" he'd never heard of them before.

Doc
Doc smiled his typical crooked closed lip smile as he looked between Mordie and Lizzie. But Mortll's words to him about Ari not liking he and Lizzie dancing, gave him a mental pause. He sent a telepathic message back to Mortll, ~thank you.. ~ He looked at Lizzie at her comments about the Castle. "Have you not heard of the den of were's? In Tomkin.. I have seen Mordie in action.. depatching them with ease." He inclined his head toward Mordie, "A feat.. to be sure.. I have been bested more than once by them."

Mortll
" Well its a Faction i guess you would call it Mostly family mostly people who want to do something in the city ... I started it out of boredom and well Just **** a general want to just kill to be honest We are vampires i cant deny my instincts to do so ... So killing all these gang fucks is my way of keeping the city safe from them and me for the rest of them they have their own reasons but we work well together We controll a good chunk of the city "

Elizabeth
Elizabeth set her glass down and slowly shook her head. "I have not, no. But I find myself out of the loop on things often." She replied casually, before lifting the glass again and finishing it. "Perhaps it is something I should venture to see, the night is young." She dipped her head towards Mordechai in acknowledgement of his great feats.

Rowan
tried to be quiet as she entered the room but tripped slightly on her feet. Thanking whatever deity was listening that she was a vampire and not prone to blushing in embarrassment, she made her way over to where she spotted Mortll, seeking out what was familiar. Waiting for a slight lull in the conversation, she nodded to everyone around her politely before greeting Mortll. "Hello Mortll-mum... Am so sorry I'm late again tonight."

Doc
"Then you must allow me to take you there.. but.." Doc held up a finger, "It is in the sunken part of the city.. one might need.. " He grinned at her, "Wellies."

Elizabeth
"How unfortunate...I seem to have left them back at my penthouse..." Elizabeth frowned as she inched closer to Doc. "Somehow they did not complete the outfit this evening...Perhaps we could make a small detour?"

Rocklin
He listened to her explanation of the Voodoo Dragons. "Aaah, yes. The general need for violence. You have your groups with bleeding hearts, and groups who make others bleed." Rocklin took a moment to reminisce. "I remember when we would march once a day to teach those on the bounty list a lesson. Not everyone understood why we were doing it. We were often told it was an excuse to shed blood, which for some of us, it was. The bigger picture always seemed to get further and further away. I am very pleased to hear you're protecting what you feel deserves protecting. Good for you."

Doc
Doc tutted, "Yes that is indeed unfortunate, however, I am nothing, if not accommodating to a lady.." He gave her a smile, "A detour would be well within reason, and a pleasure as well.." His gaze when to her leg, "Yes .. they would have hidden those lovely legs.. "

Mortll
smiled as she spotted Rowan "Hello Rowan dear come sit meet Rocklin he is a Dragomir ... he has been gone a long while Rocklin this is my childe Rowan " Rowan hadnt been turned by Mortll but she might as well had been. She watched after the young vampire and She was very proud of her she could hold her own in a fight "Rowan is a member of the Voodoo Dragons she could tell you what she thinks of them "

Amalea
could hear voices drifting up from the basement as she entered the building. Laughing softly, she quietly descended to the basement to see what kind of mayhem had been unleashed this evening.

Elizabeth
Yes, Elizabeth was well aware of how accomodating Doc could be at times. She looked at Mordechai and offered him an apologetic look. "It was a pleasure, Mordechai...but it seems there are some wolves to entertain this evening. I hope to see you soon." She stood when Doc did, linked an arm through his before they left.

Mordechai
nodding his head to her words, he smiled" good hunting, I have one to find before i begin again"

Rocklin
Rocklin had looked to Rowan and nodded before he took to stand from the table. "Forgive me, but I do want to go check on Jacinthe." he muttered, resting a hand on Mortll's shoulder. "I am proud to see how far you've come from where we were. Hopefully we get to see each other soon."

Mortll
" Hope to see you around Rocklin "

Amalea
waved at those she knew as she wove deeper into the gathered group. Her nose wrinkled at seeing both Rowan and Mortll present; that could be a dangerous combination.

Mortll
spotted Amalea "Darlin come over here and have a seat ... " She winked at the Red head with a cheeky grin

Amalea
shook her head in amusement as she slid into a seat near the woman, "Evening, Mortll."

Mortll
"Good to see you here its been a somewhat strange eavening " She motioned for the bartender to come over and ordered the woman her usual wine >

Amalea
"When isn't it a strange evening around her?" she queried with a laugh. "But pray tell, what was so strange tonight?"

Mortll
"Doc dancing with Elizabeth Ari coming in not saying anything just watching him then leaving ... Rocklin is back ... and ive seen Nix hunting in the Cathedral im tellin you its the ******* eclipse "

Amalea
stares, "And I missed all of this...Though, Ari doesn't surprise me given it's not the first time she's done so. Nix is back?!"

Amalea
"I'm not sure I've met Rocklin," she added.

Mortll
"You are human its proabably a good thing that you have not ... he is a bit of a hot head and was very pro masque so im not so sure how his reaction to humans is yet especialy blood thieves though i think some of you need new titles since you dont quite steal it anymore "

Amalea
"Awesome... someone new to tread lightly around. Probably good that I missed the festivities earlier, I guess. Well...I still take, just not by biting now."

Kaelyn
had snuck in a while ago and was silently people watching, but figured she'd make an appearance now. "Hi!"

Mortll
"Hes not quite new ... Hes been here but he went away for awhile but yeah he can be quite dangerous he once attacked my sire and others just because i told him he couldnt kill someone in Dragomir temple ... that he had to find some way to get them out "

Mortll
"Hello Kaelyn "

Kaelyn
Sooo that lady earlier...is she nice?

Mortll
"Which lady ?"

Kaelyn
The one with Papi

Kaelyn
The not Ari.

Mortll
"the blonde Shes cunning clever over 200 yrs old and ******* insane ... even by my standards "

Kaelyn
Someone I'd like?

Mortll
Possibly she just drives me nuts occasionaly when she has her eppisodes "

Amalea
"Hey, Kaelyn," she smiled. "Elizabeth? I've seen her before. Might have met her in passing." She shook her head, "Awesome...I love dangerous. Which bloodline is he?" Ok..so the sarcasm wasn't exactly subtle tonight.

Kaelyn
furrows her brow a bit "How was their date going before I got here?"

Mortll
Welll he is one of Isabella Drakes line but he was also adopted into the Dragomir ... So not so sure what to call him now "

Mortll
Kaelyn not so sure it was a date ... Even if it was they have been friends for quite awhile ... Its not exactly one of those types of relationships Doc has a lot of respect for that woman shes a Elder

Kaelyn
Was there another woman too?

Amalea
"Ah, well, I might be a bit safer than normal in that case," she laughed softly. Taking a sip of her drink, she nodded at Mortll's statement, "she was at the Town Hall meeting last month. She came and left with another male I have never seen before."

Mortll
Not that i know of ... Elizabeth is odd 200 yrs in the shadow realm ... think about it ... and being 200 yrs old to wake up to this ... She was bound to Etiene then to Shamus ... Now who knows sometimes bonds dont last " Mortll fell silent and shrugged her shoulders

Kaelyn
I want to meet her.

Amalea
"Something tells me you'll get the chance," she shrugged. "Have you told him about your engagement yet?"

Kaelyn
I was supposed to last night...but it didn't work out

Kaelyn
And then he had his date tonight. So yeah...

Kaelyn
I said I wanted to meet up with him. He asked if I was married. I said no >.>

Mortll
Ask Doc ... im sure he will or the next town hall meeting she told him he didnt ivite he to the last so im sure she will be at the next

Kaelyn
I said I wanted to meet her. He didn't reply

Kaelyn
I'm not sure if he'd want to

Amalea
laughed, "Maybe he was hoping you eloped and spared him the wedding." She looked at Mortll oddly, "Elizabeth was at the last meeting..."

Kaelyn
I think he'd be pretty grumpy if i got married

Amalea
"No doubt," she grinned. "It is the father's duty after all to give the guy a hard time and make sure he's worth of his daughter. Just substitute sire and childe there."

Kaelyn
I was going to say...my dad's dead. Victor isn't coming back. But he would have given him hell.

Amalea
cringed slightly. She would have phrased that differently if she had known. No one liked to be reminded of a dead parent, "Sorry."

Kaelyn
shrugs "It's fine. He could come back. I think he chose not to and he never will"

Kaelyn
He didn't like me anyway

Amalea
nodded quietly. She could understand that one given Reyna's disappearance years ago. She could also relate to not being liked by a parent; it sucked.

Kaelyn
Papi sometimes likes me though!

Amalea
laughed softly, "Only sometimes?"

Kaelyn
I make him grumpy >.>

Kaelyn
He likes me sometimes, loves me always.

Amalea
"I love you, but I don't have to like you," she snickered. "Yeah, I've heard that before."

Kaelyn
He refuses to say he loves me.

Kaelyn
He doesn't believe in love.

Amalea
"A lot of people don't. And others think it's overrated. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference. And sometimes, actions speak louder than the words ever could.

Kaelyn
Exactly. He loves me. *Grinned*

Rowan
stirs from where she'd zoned out and blinked rapidly at seeing less people than there were earlier. Again, embarrassment. "Geez, gotta stop these zone outs... it's getting to be a nuisance," she muttered to herself. Seeing Amalea, she smiled widely. "Hi Lea, it's been a while since I've run into you. How're you?"

Amalea
She laughed softly at Kaelyn's statement silently hoping Doc wouldn't kill her later over it. ""Evening, Rowan. Indeed it has. Fadebaby free," she smirked.

Rowan
blinked. "Wow, I think I missed a loooooot of conversation. What's this about Fadebabies??"

Amalea
laughed, "Lady, the last time I saw you, you were on about fadebabies. More specifically, me having one of said abominations."

Rowan
tilted her head to the side. "... I've forgotten. Then again, I've been forgetting a lot lately. That's odd. Fadebabies are when you have kids with a vampire, right?"

Kaelyn
I wouldn't call them kids per se....

Amalea
"Aye. Fadebabies are produced when at least one partner is a vampire. Have a nasty tendency to really mess up the mom if no kill her."

Rowan
".... Ouch." Rowan winces. "Seems like a good reason to avoid... having relations. That doesn't happen with same sex pairings, does it?"

Kaelyn
It's not a good enough one!

Kaelyn
was luckily fadebaby free

Amalea
"It can, from what I understand, but it's rarer. I think. Supposedly using a condom works in avoiding them?" She shook her head, not believing she was having to have this conversation. "But don't quote me on that." Where the hell did Mortll get off to? This was her department.

Amalea
caught the bartender passing by and requested a fresh drink. This was turning into a good night to break her one drink rule; besides it was empty enough to be safe to do so.

Mortll
Dont **** and you wont get a fadebaby

Mortll
and Doc wont love anyone cause he dosnt want to be responsible

Kaelyn
He already is responsible. He still love me though.

Amalea
snickered and gave Mortll a look that clearly said she was NOT giving the birds and bees talk to her adopted childe.

Kaelyn
Celibacy is no fun...

Amalea
"Sometimes it's the only option...sometimes its not even a conscious choice."

Mortll
His theory is anyone that is his enemy would go after you to get to him so he dosnt want to think that he can be touched that way Typical male ******** but its what is running through that head of his

Kaelyn
He's wrong though.

Kaelyn
and why, Lea?

Mortll
Hey they have worked wonders with vibrating objects

Amalea
"He's right in a way. If your enemy can't get at you, they're likely to go for loved ones. They're also likely to target them if they want to inflict the maximum emotional damage. To avoid that scenario completely though, you'd have to become a hermit and interact with no one."

Kaelyn
Yes yes, he's right about that...but he's wrong in thinking he can just ...not love

Kaelyn
However, even if I was targeted..he'd be fine. I can handle myself. I don't think he'd feel too bad

Mortll
Meh one minute he wants to kill me the other well so im not to arsed about what he feels long as He isnt shooting at me

Amalea
tried to come up with a coherent thread of reasoning for Kaelyn that didn't touch on things she didn't want to disturb. "Sometimes you might not want to be celibate, but there's no opportunities presented to alleviate it. As for it being the only option...one example is medical."

Kaelyn
tipped her head to the side, not quite understanding. She wouldn't push it though. "Okies"

Mortll
Doc is a surgeon of the highest calibar If he cant do an abortion Ive heard of another way but damn it sounds worse than a knife

Kaelyn
I don't see why you can't just cut open and rip it out...

Amalea
sighed softly. She wasn't about to explain it from her experience, but she had an idea, "Kaelyn, if Stagger had to go on a trip for a month and you weren't able to go...you wouldn't think to go to other men, correct? So that would be an example of celibate without a conscious choice."

Kaelyn
furrowed her brow "I'm not sure there is a thing on this planet that'd keep me from going...but I get it"

Amalea
nodded

Mortll
Well being cut open the wrong way will just kill yourself too many arteries that you could hit ... or you wait too long you have the fadebeast to deal with too. Gestation is llike only 2 weeks on the infernal things even less if its on some poor human female

Kaelyn
Well it's not like we die die

Kaelyn
It wouldn't be all that horrible

Amalea
stares at Kaelyn, "Not all of us."

Kaelyn
Don't sleep with a non human...

Mortll
Who wants to spend a week in the shadow realm for a bit of nooky

Kaelyn
Depends on the nooky

Kaelyn
It could be damn well worth it

Amalea
It was all she could do not to bang her head on the table, "Hu

Amalea
mans aren't that easy to find a suitable mate among."

Kaelyn
Fair enough

Mortll
Yeah tell me about it Some are well worth it " Mortll grinned Papi for example

Amalea
stared

Kaelyn
No.

Kaelyn
Nope. That's a not up for discussion.

Mortll
'What the man has moves what else can i say "

Kaelyn
Ewww! He would have old wrinkly man balls!

Kaelyn
made a face like she was going to vomit

Amalea
was just going to pretend this bit of the conversation was not happening. Given the look on Kaelyn's face, she suspected the other woman was going to end up doing the same. "What happened to the 'don't kiss and tell.?"

Amalea
also had to wonder how Rowan managed to zone out such conversations.

Eclipse-fueled Madness

Post by Storyteller »

Amalea
was surprised to find the basement area empty when she arrived. She didn't think it was that early, but after the eclipse yesterday and all the weirdness, it was likely a domino effect. She wandered over to the jukebox and scrolled through the playlist. Finding one of her favorites, she popped in the required amount and hit play. Mission accomplished, she slid into a seat at one of her favorite tables to wait and see who arrived. ((https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aE2GCa-_nyU))

Doc
Doc entered the Basement of the Voodoo to hear music he wasn't familiar with, and the lone occupant. He grinned. He crossed the floor over to her and gestured silent as if permission to join her. "Interesting music.. catchy.."

Amalea
Amalea laughed as she nodded towards the other seat in an invitation to join her. "It is. It's a cover by an acapella group of a popular song, well, popular with the current generations. I prefer this to the original, honestly."

Doc
"Really? That is interesting. I have never been much of a fan for Acapella. However, there is a version of a song that I always liked,.. done in Acapella.. let me find it. It is impresive." Doc pulled out his cell and did a quick search. "Ah.. here is it.. I love this." He let it play. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOFYcN92EM0 )

Amalea
"It really depends on the artist(s). Some are amazing and some just shouldn't deviate from musical accompaniment." Oddly enough, she recognized the song having heard the original many times. Listening, she had to agree, "It is rather impressive and very well done. Beautiful version."

Ariadne
settled down in a corner booth with her tablet and a bottle of "wine"

Doc
"I agree.. it is the artist that can make a break a song. The song "Hurt" I liked the original.. but then Johnny Cash did a version of.. and hit it out of the park!" He saw movement, and noticed Ariadne, "Ari! Join us.." He stood up and pulled a chair for her at the table where he and Amalea were seated.

Amalea
"I don't think I've heard either version," her nose wrinkled as she searched her memory. "I'll have to look them up tonight and listen to both!" She smiled at Ari as Doc greeted her, giving a slight wave, "Please do."

Doc
Doc looked at Ari expectantly...

Ariadne
glanced at the pair. She'd been having conflicting feelings about Doc and the human since they began spending more time together and she and Doc less, but it made sense that all relationships changed over time. Collecting her things, she moved over to the other table and nodded to Doc and Amalea. "Evening."

Amalea
"Good evening, Ari," she smiled. "How is business?"

Doc
Doc helped her with her chair, before he took the seat beside her. "Thank you Ari.. " He had seen the look she gave Amalea. He could almost feel her hesitation. He hadn't told Ari. It wasn't his story to tell. He may want to, but he had made a decision that it would not be he that said anything.

Ariadne
"Business is doing well, thank you."

Ariadne
poured herself a glass of blood and scooted the bottle over towards Doc. "Please help yourself, if you are so inclined. It's some of the late summer stock."

Amalea
"That's wonderful news. It was always popular among guests at the Necro when I was still there."

Doc
Doc went to the bar and came back with a glass, and poured some. "What ever happened with Necro? It was popular.. then .. it changed hands.. and it seemed to die.. "

Amalea
"That right there was it's undoing, in my opinion." She shook her head, "Going from a Gothic fetish club to an Irish pub was too drastic a change for most of the normal patrons. Most didn't realize The Dungeon was still Gothic, but at the beginning of the change-over you still had to walk through the pub to get there, which turned most people off." She missed those nights, "The change back to entirely Gothic was too late to salvage the original vibe and crowd."

Doc
Doc nodded.. "Yes.. now I remember that .. Schmelliot's doing wasn't it?" He smirked. "he has a knack from killing everything he touches.."

Ariadne
poked at her tablet and mumbled something about poor and unsustainable business models

Amalea
Amalea sighed softly, "Him and Pi. Honestly, it didn't seem like either had done their homework. Neither had any clue that Amara had had Blood Dolls on the payroll... much less what one was." She still remembered the incident where he had hired a human who had no idea that vampires existed. After all, it's what led to Aysel getting hired, which was one of the few saving graces of the job. "He also didn't vet employees well."

Doc
Doc smirked. "Yes he did equally well at ******* up his spawns. Bleeding heart do-gooder, who supposedly hates violence.. until .. someone disagrees with him.. then guess what? He tries to beat them into submission. ******* hypocrite. I am horrible sire.. but I don't pretend to be holier than everyone else like he does." He paused, "Speaking of.. Where have he and Pi been? I know someone said Pi went to Paris. My guess is she got tired of him as well.."

Amalea
"Last I saw of Pi was her heart sitting on my desk after that battle." She laughed softly, "I have a ceramic copy for you. I need to remember to bring it with me some time. As for the other, I haven't seen him since he ran that cursed pub."

Doc
Doc's smirk grin turned into a full fledged smile, "Really? I have the perfect place for it! Right next to her finger.. " He snorted in amusement. ( http://imageshack.com/a/img921/2262/dOTGH6.png )

Mannequin
*Quin wanders in looking her usual empty eyed self*

Elizabeth
Just as the night before, Elizabeth entered, glanced around and moved to the bar. "A water will do for now." She told the bar tender, as she crossed her legs at her ankles. Elizabeth had noted the absence of some from the night before, which would perhaps make it a different dynamic.

Mannequin
*Heads toward the Juke box hoping for some Dolly*

Amalea
"Yes, really," she snickered. "One of my employees made up several ceramic copies. She also managed to make some pull apart rubber varieties for classroom use." She spotted Quinn as she entered and gave a small wave. "It'd be a nice addition to the collection you've got started."

Mannequin
*Quin waved back and grinned at Amalea as she punched the buttons on the Juke box with her free hand*

Doc
"I will treasure it." Doc follows her gaze to Manny. Doc would need to watch himself. That one tended to try his patience. Looking away he then saw Lizzie. **** it.. he would be nice to the Imbecile. "We are such a small crowd tonight.. what don't you both.." he looked at Lizzie, pointedly, and then glanced at Manny, "come join us.. I promise I won't shoot you Manny."

Ariadne
He may hit on you though...

Mannequin
*Quin looked up from the now rather battered looking Juke box*...."Nothing wrong with drilling a hole in a girl now and then Doc..." *she giggled*

Ariadne
tapped at her tablet and rised an eyebrow as she uncovered more questionable evidence of vampire activity. "Or the other way around..."

Mannequin
"What is life with out a little slap and scream.....or was that tickle?...I never remember..."

Mannequin
*Quin puzzled over it for a moment before giving up...her mind was not going to make it easy for her no matter how much she tried*

Doc
Doc's eyes got a bit wider, "No drilling will happen to you .. from me.. Manny. That is a ******* promise."

Amalea
sat quietly listening to the bantering going on around her. She did wave to Quinn and Elizabeth in support of Doc's suggestion that they join them. Otherwise, though, she was content to watch and listen; it was probably safer at the moment, anyway.

Mannequin
*Quin pretended to pout* "Aaaaaw! and there I was all ready to except you steaming hot...lead..."...

Doc
"Get used to disappointment."

Elizabeth
collected her glass of water, then moved towards Doc and the vaguely familiar redheaded woman from the meeting. "Of course." Elizabeth said as she moved to sit at the table, eyes flitting to the other she did not know for a brief moment. It appeared it would be a much different dynamic this evening.

Mannequin
"With men it usually is..." *Quin stuck her tongue out at Doc*

Ariadne
gave a soft 'hmm' and packed up her tablet, nodding to Doc and Amalea as she stood. "Forgive me. I have other matters which need my attention. Enjoy the remainder of your evening."

Amalea
"Good evening, Ari."

Doc
Doc noted Lizzie's look, and decided to make introductions, "Elizabeth, this Amalea, Ariadne, and Manfred.. who I call Manny." When Ari suddenly decided to leave.. "Night Ari.. " He looked back at Amalea, "This is Elizabeth.. "

Mannequin
*Quin waved at the person who she probably knew but could never have remembered*

Mannequin
"I'm Quin!" *she said brightly*

Amalea
"Hello," she smiled. "It's nice to have a name to put with a face and visa versa."

Elizabeth
"Amelea," Elizabeth dipped her head to the woman, then looked at the other. "Manny. Or Quin." She sipped the water as Elizabeth silently assessed the one that seemed overly eccentric.

Doc
Doc gave Manny a sidelong look. He itched to put a bullet in her left eye.

Mannequin
"Either suits me, I forget so often!" *she giggled at that*

Doc
Doc tried not the visibly allow his eye to twitch.

Mannequin
*Quin noticed the look from Doc and was totally sure he was in love with her now*

Doc
(the = To)

Amalea
shook her head lightly, "I think Pru needs to back off the battering ram practice."

Mannequin
"But then I wouldn't get to see the talking sea monkey!"....

Doc
"Oh.. Is that what the issue is...? Good to know.."

Elizabeth
"Agreed," Elizabeth's attention shifted to the redheaded woman, offering her a smile. "It is so nice to have a name, is it not?" Her eyes flicked to Charles briefly and then to the woman who was insane...not the fun type it seemed.

Mannequin
*Quin blinked her glazed eyes at Doc* "Nothing like a volley of blows to the head to clear the senses...."

Mannequin
*Eyed Elizabeth hair with envy* "I love your hair.....is it real?"

Doc
Doc looked at Amalea and gave her a reassuring smile. Why he felt the need to do that, he wasn't sure. But he did. But his attention was broken as Manny eyed Lizzie like a pretty doll on christmas. "Hands off Manny..."

Mannequin
"Mine comes off...look..." *with a ripping sound Quin removed her wig...it seemed to have been nail on*

Mannequin
"I damn....now I'll have to find a hammer again..." *with a glum look she removed to nails from her skull one by one*

Amalea
"It is," she agreed. Idly, she wondered what would happen if she sic'd Kaelyn on Quinn. It could be interesting to watch, but given the young woman wasn't present, that would have to wait. She relaxed a bit, having caught Doc's gesture; she hadn't realized she was tensed up."

Elizabeth
"It most certainly is." Elizabeth assured the other woman, before focusing on Amalea. "I am ever so curious as to how the two of you know the other." her eyes moved between Charles and Amalea. "I knew a girl once...she could have helped with your hair dilemma." Elizabeth shrugged apologeitcally.

Mannequin
(I =oh)

Mannequin
*Quin gave a bloody thumbs up as she tried to work a rather resistant nail out of the back of her skull*

Doc
Doc looked from Lizzie to Amalea, then to Lizzie, "We met at the Necropolis Club.. unless I am wrong.. " He looked at Amalea, "She was my waitress.. at least .. that is how I remember meeting her.. "

Amalea
Amalea had to wonder from where this sudden interest everyone had in how the pair knew each other came. She had fielded the same question from Ripper not even a week ago. She laughed in delight, "You're absolutely correct."

Elizabeth
The Necropolis. Elizabeth has not been there since...some ordeal with the Grigori, if she recalled correctly. "Interesting..." She commented idly, sipping at the water again.

Doc
Doc looked at Lizzie, "Really. You find that ... interesting? Liar. Tell us what you are really thinking.."

Elizabeth
"A person's profession tells a lot about them. So yes, I find it interesting." Her attention shifted to Manny and offered the woman a small smile. "And what is it that keeps you busy most evenings?" Elizabeth could only imagine...

Amalea
quietly glanced between the two wondering if there was something she had missed.

Mannequin
*Quin smiled strangely at the question* "I'm a failing artist at the moment...doomed to remain unknown in my life time....which is probably a longer time than I was expecting now..."

Doc
Doc looked at Lizzie, "She.. WAS a waitress." He felt an urge to defend Amalea, "Years ago." His jaw clenched. He counted.

Mannequin
"Unless Doc decided he will drill me after all that it..." *she gave Doc a wink*

Mannequin
(it = is)

Elizabeth
"An artist? Really? Do you paint?" Elizabeth asked as her body shifted towards the woman in curiousity. "Apologies. Was. Regardless, Charles, it implies that she has had training with people of all sorts and managed to successful work with them." She had heard the rise in his voice, but it failed to bring out a rise from her.

Elizabeth
Successfully * )

Mannequin
"I do a fair bit of painting, but sculpture is my current...passion"

Doc
went silent. He counted.

Mannequin
"Finding materials is a lot easier now at least..."

Elizabeth
"Mmm, it seems you have many passions." Elizabeth commented with a bemused smile. "Still, I would not mind seeing your work. I too have a passion for the arts. A great many of them."

Amalea
Amalea wasn't quite sure what on earth was going on between the pair with their verbal sparring. Silently, she slipped out of her seat and headed to the bar to acquire a glass of wine as was her usual. There was a bit of nagging in the back of her mind that it might be a good idea.

Mannequin
*Quin smiled warmly* "well, you can usually see a fresh one if you catch the 9 o'clock news...."

Mannequin
"They usually clean up though pretty quickly....but that is the nature of the work..."

Mortll
walked down the stairs the bartender had rang her phone raving about some crazy *** bald chick pulling nails out of her head and was threatening to quit he was a young vampire and hadnt quite seen much Mortll assured him everything was ok she would be there soon and to just hang tight. She wasnt too surprised to see Quinn when she got to the bottom step "Hello Quinn i See you are bleeding on my tables ?"

Mannequin
*Quin looked around at the tables* "Sorry about that....I must have missed a squirt or two..." *using her wig she moped up the worst of the spills*

Mannequin
"I'm a red head I guess now..." *she laughed as she put the wig but on at an odd angle*

Elizabeth
"I see." Elizabeth frowned a little, then slowly stood. "I think the music has ended...my treat now." She moved towards the juke box and started scrolling through the various artists available.

Doc
Doc tried to understand why he got so annoyed by Lizzie's comment to Amalea. Why? Because she was ******* patronizing, for no reason. He forced his thoughts on something else. He stood up and moved to the jukebox, dropping the required coinage.. he selected a song. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUmNud_3lcQ ) Then he moved to Mortll, offered her his hand.. "Dance...?"

Mannequin
*seeing people drift away Quin headed to the bar for a drink...and a towel to finish off the tables*

Mortll
smiled and took Docs hand "Why sure" as she started to Shag with him

Amalea
thanked the bartender as she collected her drink and returned to the table. She was definitely going to chalk this night up to the eclipse. At this rate, it was likely to affect the entire week. She had to wonder what about the event seemed to drive vampires to act oddly.

Doc
Doc grinned, "You know this.. " He pulled her in and then turned her.

Elizabeth
decided to veer from the juke box when she noticed Doc was going that way, and instead moved towards the door, abandoned her water and left. She would not entertain the mood he was in tonight, there were wolves and paintings to be dealt with.

Doc
( Doc and Mortll are Shagging : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdadn1iT_58 )

Doc
As the song ended, Doc spun her and then released her, "Thank you.. I enjoyed that.. and I owed you a dance.. or more.."

Amalea
Amalea was surprised to see Elizabeth depart so abruptly without a word. Sighing, she slipped back into her seat to watch the pair work their magic on the dance floor. It was easy to tell that they were well versed in the art.

Mannequin
*seeing the juke box free Quin had another go a making it make some music*

Mannequin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5Fgp-KihIA

Mortll
'Doc Darlin ill Shag with you anytime " she smiled and moved toward the back of the bar digging out the larger towels heading toward Quin she eyed the bloody scalp "Here Quin sit let me ?" She wasnt going to take no for a answer

Mannequin
*bowing her head she let Mortll get to work on her bloody scalp* "Thanks...hard to tell if I'm covered in blood or not theses days..."

Doc
"Oh Good god.. are my ears bleeding..?" he moved to the Jukebox, and shoved in as much coin as he had on him.. and set the next ten songs. He didnt care what they were.. but they were not teh ear-bleeding-****-manny-picked.

Mannequin
*Quin laughed as Doc shoved coins into the Juke box* "It could have been death metal...."

Mortll
Mortll didnt bother scrubbing the blood off she just drapped the towel over the other womans head and twisted the front of the towel then twisted it around into a effective turban and tucked it into the back " There you go my dear quick easy fix "

Doc
( first selection: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPBzTxZQG5Q )

Mannequin
"Thank you Mortll....ooow! I look swish...pity there is no fruit to put in it..."

Doc
Doc retook his seat at the table. He looked at Amalea. He wanted to say something.. but what? Nothing. She seemed oblivious. He gave her a half hearted smirk. "No more ear bleeds."

Amalea
"Oh, I love this song," she giggled. "Great choice. You dance quite well." *Thank god, thank you for sparing us all that...crap,* she sent in a mental aside.

Mortll
took a seat next to Doc then noticed Amalea at the bar " Hey Amalea come have a drink with us ?"

Amalea
quietly jiggled her glass at the woman, "Course."

Mannequin
*Quin sat on a bar stool playing Angry birds*..."£$%£...damn....no....dumb bird!"

Doc
"Anything had to be better than listening to my ear bleed.."

Doc
( second selection: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCYtesyE7OA )

Mortll
laughed "Ive seen your ears bleed "

Amalea
"I'd prefer not to," she added quietly. She was still trying to figure out what the hell had just happened with Elizabeth.

Doc
"Yes.. at that song Manfred picked.. good.. I felt like I couldnt or wouldnt hear again."

Doc
( Next song... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bpg5-bsgBGE )

Doc
Doc grimaced. "That one was depressing.. " The next song cued up. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgUIlh2h7CQ ) "Sorry.. not all of them at the moody.. .." He said loud.. , then lower sauid.. 'I hope'

Amalea
snickered lightly, "It's fine. This one is a good one too."

Mortll
"So Doc i dont mind helping you make a chick green eyed but damn Queenie sure did storm the hell out of here you trying to find out what its like to get laid by a 200 yr old chic ?" Mortll smiled she wasnt know for beating around the bush .

Doc
Doc gave Mortll a look, "I do not like it when people insult you.. please do not insult her.. I dont know why she left. And She's with some other guy.. he's German."

Doc
"Oh! HA!" Doc stood and went to the Juke box. He scrolled through the songs. "Oh it is here!" He added it to the play list. He turned and pointed at Manny, "Manfred.. this one is for you..."

Doc

Mannequin
*Quin squealed in delight* "I love this song! How did you know!..." *hopping off her chair she started getting a grove on to the song her towel wrapped head wobbling*

Amalea
blinked, shaking her head lightly. Definitely the eclipse. She sipped her wine quietly as she wasn't about to get involved in that conversation.

Doc
What Doc expected was not this.. but he still couldnt help but laugh at her reaction. He stood up and started dancing with her.. thought careful to keep his distance from him

Mannequin
"Stooooopid girl....aaaw yeah...." *busts some pretty odd moves trying not to lose her towel*

Doc
Doc decided to ignore Manfred, and just do his thing..

Amalea
giggled as she watched.

Doc
The song ended, and Doc gratefully took a seat as the next song came on. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09R8_2n ... o-wxQSDOxY ) He looked at Lea, "I like this song. .Come on.. dance with me.."

Doc
He stood up and held out his hand to her.. "Please/"

Amalea
nodded at she placed her glass on table before taking the offered hand. "Sure," she smiled. This was going to be a new experience.

Mannequin
*returned to her stool and resumed her angry birds* "Why do I always lose?!!..wwwhhhyyy?!!"

Doc
Doc smiled, it was slow but gradual to a full fledged toothy grin. "Thank you.. " He pulled her in, then spun her and let her catch her breath.. He lost himself inteh dance with her. Watching her, and remembering her enjoyment to the song.

Amalea
Amalea laughed lightly as she followed his lead, taking care to avoid stepping on his toes. It felt natural to her even if it was out of her realm of experience. Certainly, she could see why people found it enjoyable. The company certainly helped.

Doc
as the song ended, he gave her a spin, finishing in a quick dip. Pulling her back upright, so she was settled on her feet, He bowed ever so slightly. "You're a natural.. you need to find a partner to take you dancing"

Doc
As he relinquished her to her seat, his phoned buzzed. He ignored it.. only to have it repeatedly buzz. ****. "Excuse me.." He pulled his phone and saw the 4 missed calls and 2 messages. "Sorry Kid.. I have to take cared of this.. " he said as he vanished.

Mortll
Mortl studied Doc She hadnt meant any inslutt to Elizabeth ... but she wasnt giving the woman any slack either She was cunning and smart when she wasnt raving *** mad She wonderd if Doc had witnessed one of Elizabeths eppisodes yet and how he would handle it if he did

Amalea
It was disappointing to hear the song end, but it was exciting to find something that she found enjoyable that was a bit of a social activity. "Thank you," she blushed. "I should." She slipped back into her seat, eyebrow raised as he pulled out his phone and excused himself. "Hopefully nothing serious. Have a good night."

Amalea
"How are you this evening, Mortll?" she queried as she reclaimed her glass of wine.

Mannequin
*Quin looked annoyed as she read a text on her phone* "Oh all the...." *in a flash she was gone...something must have needed her attention else where for her to exit so quickly without saying goodbye*

Amalea
Man, people were dropping like flies around here tonight.

Once again the red-head had arrived to an empty Basement, save for the bartender. Giving the man a slight wave, Amalea stopped by the jukebox to line up a couple of her favorite songs. Smiling at the first notes of the initial selection, she headed to the bar to pick up her usual glass of red and tend sought out her favorite table. Now to wait and see what mayhem would unfold tonight. (( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdkWFPrrZVQ ))

Edenor
Wandering aimlessly, near listlessly, seemed to be his forte anymore and he found it was far more fun to just see where his feet and mind would take him when he didnt tell them where to go. Inevitably he found himself in one of the many bars. It seemed his feet liked to try and get him drunk even if the alcohol no longer really did anything but burn his insides. At least it was a start. As he realized where he was he frowned slightly, he wasn't in need of blood and so didn't bother staying upstairs and immedietly went to the basement. Hearing the music and seeing a somewhat familiar person he gave a slight nod as he went to the bar and ordered a double vodka neat and as soon as it was placed in front of it near half of it was gone as he lifted it with his remaining good arm and hand. A heavy and yet relaxed sigh escaped him as the liquid made its way to his innards and the familiar burn and sting went through him. Only then did he turn to the woman, "Long nights got you wandering too?"

Amalea
Amalea was more than a bit surprised that the first arrival was one she had never seen before. Usually by now this place was hopping with the usual suspects; she had to wonder if there was something going on elsewhere she didn't know about. Sipping her wine, she watched him head for the bar and order his drink then promptly down half of it. Interesting start, she thought. "Usual haunt for me, really. Typically, it's much busier," she replied, setting her glass on the table.

Edenor
He just nodded as she explained, it made a lot more sense as most seemed to have normal haunts as opposed to his random wandering. As she spoke of it being much busier a faint wrinkle of his nose in annoyance flashed across his features for the shortest of moments, "Well then it seems I was lucky and found myself in here before it gets that busy." Downing his drink the rest of the way he motioned for a second from the bartender and said softly, "Now if only I could still get drunk a lot of people wouldn't be so bad." He turned on the stool to face her properly then, his back straight as he did not have his left arm to lean against the bar, "So a usual haunt that you come to frequently or one you don't leave much? And if I seem to pry please accept my apologies. I don't really get out much anymore these days."

Amalea
Now that she had a moment to concentrate, there was no mistaken that the mystery man was indeed a vampire. She'd been around enough of them; not to mention being a blood thief. Somedays she swore it was like having a variation on 'gaydar.' "I'm guessing you're not a fan of crowds, then?" she queried, curious. It was was most unusual to find someone opposed to crowds in a bar or club in the city unless dragged along by friends or family. "I come frequently, as life and business allow," she laughed softly. "It's fine, really."

Edenor
He did a one armed shrug with his left at her question, a faint trickle of shadow escaping from the fabric wrapped around it before it disappeared into nothing, "Crowds and I have never mixed, puts me on edge even with my old business cleaned up and mostly forgotten." A wry grin graced his lips as she answered him, "Ahh I see. One of those busy bees always got something going on?" A slow shallow breath was taken in before a slightly more wicked grin crossed his face as he regarded the woman as he realized she wasn't like him, at least not entirely, though he knew most humans in this town seemed to meet a bad end or wind up like him. He made no mention of it though, it was her business not his after all, "And how often does *life* and business allow?"

Amalea
An eyebrow raised at the trickle of shadow escaping his bandages; he was lucky there wasn't an uninitiated human around to witness that sight. Though, it did tell the red-head that he must be what they considered a 'Shadow'; they were the only ones who seemed to have the odd trait. She nodded quietly as he spoke of crowds not being his thing. That was something she could sympathize with. She could tolerate them, in small doses if there were several she knew present; when there were more unknowns than knowns, her anxiety tended to get the best of her. "Something like that," she laughed lightly. "Businesses don't run themselves and I can't seem to stop coming up with new ideas for them." The emphasis he placed on the single word did not escape her notice. If he didn't ask, though, she wasn't going to offer up the information. "At least a couple times a week, depending on what madness occurs."

Edenor
He couldn't help laughing at her last bit of comment, his head tilted back slightly as his eyes closed briefly, before he shook his head and once more looked at the woman in front of him, "The madness is the entire reason I do not partake in such things or really get out all that much to begin with. Everyone so caught up in the madness that those that like to just take things slow and as they come will find it hard to deal with. And with my tendencies I hate to deal with that sort of thing too much." As he spoke he realized he had another glass waiting for him and turned to grab it before once more facing her, a smaller more moderate drink taken this time as he held the top edge of his glass and swirled the alcohol slowly, "So why do you let yourself get swept up in the madness? Choice or necessity?"

Mortll
swooped in walking past she heard Edenors question " She does it cause i bribe her with cookies" She smiled at Amalea "Good eaveing everyone "

Edenor
Hearing Mortll's comment he rolled his eyes, "Of course it's you and of course you bribe her. Carrot or stick right?" He gave Mortll a small smile before shaking his head with a laugh as he drank some more just to feel the burn again as it had started to fade already.

Amalea
A single eyebrow rose at the laughing male as she watched him curiously. She wasn't quite sure what was funny about her statement until he started explaining the madness was why he rarely got out. Interesting take on it, she supposed, though it hadn't been the way she had meant. She supposed she could interject and explain, but it was more interesting to let him finish. Mortll's entry and subsequent comment was met with a laugh and light shake of the head. "Evening, Mortll," she greeted the woman. "I thought it was *other* things you liked to bribe me with," she teased. Turning her attention back to the male, "Necessity more than choice. My employees was wonderful, but some days you'd swear I was running a daycare. And certain times, it's easier to just go along for the ride than fight it."

Tiamat
entered the room and made her way over to a chair. her long black hair cascading down her shoulders. She wore a black leather skirt with a crimson half top. she sat down and pulled out her phone to work.

Edenor
He nodded slightly at her explanation, it mostly made sense from the standpoint she took but he had chosen a very different ride in his time as a human and couldn't quite see the allure of such businesses. Made more money than him he had no doubt but where was the real thrill and excitement? Now that he couldn't really die like he could before it even took some of the joy of hunting and fighting away because there were ways back from death. It just didn't have the same bite to it anymore. As he realized his thoughts were wandering he said with a small smirk on his face, "Or you could choose to not take the ride at all you know."

Mortll
"Edenor what brings you out of hiding i thought you shuneed the public" she looked around the bar and saw Tiamat working as " Lea bribes are only fun if someone takes them once in awhile " Mortll winked at the redhead

Mortll
working as usual*

Amalea
"What's the fun avoiding all the rides?" she laughed. Not that she always took that advice herself unless specifically invited or dragged along. She smiled ever so sweetly in Mortll's direction, batting her eyelashes, "I thought the chase was half the fun."

Edenor
He turned to face Mortll and shook his head, "I don't much venture out anymore, not since this." He motioned towards his missing arm and a self deprecating laugh came to him, "Since then and all my past was finally sorted and buried I just dont have that same edge anymore or drive like i had before knowing what was surely coming." He finished his glass before setting it aside as he stood up. Having seen Tiamat coming into the place he walked over. A small folded leather case was set on her table, "Been a while since I've gone to find these but I had a few more and since you so conveniently showed up..." His voice trailed off as if that should explain away the rest.

Mortll
"Ok i can fix that want to see something creepy ?"

Tiamat
glanced up at Edenor as he started talking. "Indeed. I figured you had become ash. Imagine my surprise when my security system alerted me to you having visited while I was out shopping." She took the case and raised an eyebrow slightly. "How much do I owe you?"

Edenor
He rolled his eyes as she asked a question of payment before focusing once more on her, "Have I ever asked for payment? Besides I have no use for them and would rather they be put to good use. As far as being ash... Only partway." He inclined his head towards her before heading back to his previous seat not wanting to keep her as she seemed busy, which shouldn't have been a surprise really. Only then did he turn back towards Mortll as he sat once more, "You mean to heal it? I've tried and others have as well but to no luck. It's not so bad anyways, though it does make me rather identifiable but then i try to keep to the shadows as is. Most don't notice me when i go by."

Amalea
The red-head had relaxed slightly at noticing both of the others knew this mysterious man. That was enough to put her at ease. Sipping her wine, she listened to the conversations among the trio.

Edenor
"Actually..." He looked at the clock and got back up, "I should probably be going. The parts don't forge themselves and I feel this was enough of a diversion for one evening. Perhaps I will see you again soon though you know where to find me. I wont visit your flower shop to see you though. You'll kill me if i showed up and all your flowers died." He laughed at that and inclined his head towards the other two women, "Good evening to you Tiamat and..."

Mortll
"Others arent me Im ******* special "

Tiamat
"good evening Edenor, glad to see you aren't dead. And thank you for the supplies as always."

Amalea
"Amalea," she supplied as she snickered at Mortll's comment. "Of course you are."

Edenor
He laughed at her comment and eyes her for a moment, "Yea.. yea you are but even so it's something I've grown used to so I am not concerned." He did not wait any longer though he did acknowledge her, "And a good evening to you Amalea. Have fun on the ride." With that he went on his way, most likely home though who knew anymore, his feet seemed to have a mind of their own.

Amalea
"Good evening to you as well."

Mortll
Well if you want to live with it thats up to you Goodnight

Amalea
Amalea laughed softly. "He's ... interesting."

Mortll
"Yes he is i did a bit of home interrior work for him awhile back interesting fellow ... bit handy with swords "

Amalea
"As long as they're not being pointed at me," she shook her head. "I'm good that that."

Mortll
"Just watch out about what type of sword he wants to give you " Mortll smiled "Hes a bit of a flirt"

Amalea
"Not my type," Amalea laughed. "But thanks for the heads up."

Amalea
"What have you been up to?"

Mortll
"Working Im always working it may not seem like it cause i love what i do i guess " she smiled Mortll had started out in this town with a backpack and a mission to raise the dead she had never dreamed things would turn out like they had for her .

Amalea
The red-head shook her head lightly, "Sounds familiar. Crimson's open now and I'm already looking to get the next one going."

Mortll
"No rest for the wicked they say" she smiled she doubted Amalea would tell her exactly how wicked she had been but then Mortll had see the woman kill ... how much more wicked could you get

Amalea
Amalea gave the woman one of those looks that said she was giving her way too much credit, "Not much, no." She shook her head, "And not because of the reasons I'm sure your mind is running rampant with." Christ it had been years since *that* had been a reason for not getting rest.

Mortll
Mortlls smile broadened "And exactly what is running rampant through my mind Hummm you think im imagining you naked and wallowing in pleasure from attentions from a lover or something. I do tease and i do want you as a childe but To be honest you arent exactly my type I mostly like so see your reactions and even better Docs he is so fun to tease

Amalea
Amalea snickered, "More or less." She shrugged lightly, "Dating's too complicated, honestly." She didn't mind the teasing as long as one didn't mind getting as good as they gave. "Teasing is half the fun," she laughed, "And don't worry, I never figured you were serious with the flirting. Poor Doc on the other hand..."
