The Path RPG [Player-Made Canon Discussions]

Long story short: I'll be making a simple, single-player, story-focussed role playing adventure / RPG for iPhones and Android. It will be a sort of spin off game which delves deeper into the lore and atmosphere of the world of Path of the Vampire. It'll also serve to bring in fresh blood to the browser game, as it will act like an advertisement for the world of path.

The bulk of this story will take place in a city away from Harper Rock. Probably one across the US border. Maybe a fictional city, maybe not. What I need to know is which factions are likely to have a presence (of non-player characters) in cities near the HR region? So for example, if your faction is a gang, perhaps it's likely they have a chapter of vamps in another city? Maybe some NPCs without specified sires, or unknown sires. Please note, however, that it's possible that this faction chapter could be attacked and beaten in the game, though that eventuality might not be canon. But it might be more fun if it was canon, at the end.

(Side note: the game will have branching story paths depending on the player's choices, so not all endings will be official canon. There will be a "canon choice" helper optionally available for 'new game +' (a second playthrough) to show players which choice is the one that will be officially reflected in the browser-game's future canon.

Also, I'm open to the idea of cameos from a couple of characters in the game. Perhaps more than cameos. Though the majority of characters featured in the RPG will be ones made up by myself, it might be fun to have a few of you write parts for your own characters in it. So for example, one of the sidequests could be given to the player by a vampire from out of town, and your character could make an appearance. You'd have to help me write the responses to the player's choices, and they'd show up in the game. Though, one thing to note if you want in on this: it's helpful if your character has a fairly unknown model, because character art based on a very famous person's face is likely to come under fire.

Also, if you're into this idea in a big way, I'd be interested in getting a small team of testers together to test each act of the game as I make it, and you could weigh in on story details and say what you'd like to see happen, etc.

If you'd like more info on this project, such as gameplay and story specifics feel free to poke me, or reply here.

I'll be doing this on my days off, so it won't take any time away from Path. Just so you know. :)

I think a lot of us use famous faces, simply because we lack the skill to make the faces we envision with a program. I'd be willing to help, but almost all my faces use a singer or actor. Even B grade.

So, I'll help how I can, even if my characters can't be a liaison of sorts going back and forth between cities.

I think what's his name from TWD and the dude you have on atm ~points up~ (I really suck at names) are a lot more 'conspicuous' Than the girl from GOT. Esp., when she's blonde and had the one-half of her head shaved.

Plus Liz is an Elder. And you write wonderfully and frequently. Quality and Quantity! :D <3

Speaking of faces; is it just me... or since I picked my gal's face she is like suddenly EVERYWHERE? >.< lol

Might be cool to have Enver on the phone to the player at some point. Maybe a mission given to them via Crownet or cellphone or something.

That would be groovy and right up his alley. Totally count him in for something :)

I can identify every episode of Star Trek TOS and TNG in under 30 seconds tho!~* :D A lot of the other series and some Dr Who's, too. But actors? Naw. Plus I'm lucky to even remember my own name these days. :P

Opinions on this art style, for the moments in the game where you're talking to various characters? The facial expressions will change if you offend them / please them / anger them, etc.

I like it! It feels dark and a little foreboding. I hope that's what you were going for.
