Introduction
I’ve noticed that there is a huge number of businesses in Harper Rock, as well as a seeming lack of employable characters (so I keep hearing anyway). With humans unable to see the job-related board in Crownet, it seems as though something must be done to bridge the gap between available jobs and those looking for employment. There are plenty of new players who, coming in, aren’t aware of the possibility of getting a job and earning money and experience off the bat. It seems businesses to be an underused resource in that regard. So, while I have few ideas other than making the board public, I offer myself as both an IC and OOC resource for matching people up, if needed.
The Process
- Business owners can send me the positions you'd like filled up for each business, as well as any possible limitations (i.e.: no vampires, no humans, etc.) Also, an answer as to whether they'd like to receive information of potential hires (through the agency) or would rather just get applications directly (agency gives job seeker the information to apply).
- I'll make database with all this information for reference, as Mackenzie would in-character.
- Job seekers can send me their two highest attributes with a description of their character (which I will attempt to honour by finding them jobs relevant to interests and skills - should you disclose them).
- I'll check which job positions are available for those attributes, and if they meet the requirements set by the business owners, hand over a short list of available jobs. Alternatively, will also forward candidatures to business owners.
The goal is to keep this updated on a monthly basis -- and to make up for the lack of communication between human and vampires in the job-related area. I don't know how useful this can be for players, but I hope it fosters more mix/match in terms of jobs (allowing for people to rely less on their niche for their alts). From an in-character perspective, the business is established. As for crossing, my role in this would ghost Mackenzie's, so it would be pretty easy to do this without much effort.
