Gun Crafting vs Melee Crafting

Pi has maxed stats for both Melee weapons creation & Gun weapons creation. And it has been my observation that getting any melee weapon up to a certain degree is marginally harder than that of guns.

Strength: 36
Dexterity: 22
Stamina: 31
Intelligence: 36
Willpower: 28
Skill: 36
Charisma: 11
Healing: 16
Arcane: 16

Just curious if anyone else has observed this? I'm in a good space to compare as Pi's stats across both of these skills is exactly the same.

So why then, on average is it easier to increase the quality of gun parts vs melee parts? I had believed that making either style of weapon would hold the same odds during dice roll for success, is that correct?

I've noticed this on Enver. Once upon a time he was head to head on melee/fa/strength and skill-but couldn't do much with swords. Or get nearly the same quality as he did with guns.

I feel that the more skills you have in both melee or guns and if you're maxed it should be easier to create instead of harder. I'm maxed on Metalshop with my hunter on blood and its just seems nothing changes.. the % should be lower. Good Example.

I found two weapon parts of quality 14 I tried working with them getting it past the usual mark. One I managed to get to 15.... but any further? Forget it.. the other one it kept going up and down up and down. Maybe a nice little Fix would help in this matter. *eyes david*

I noticed it too, though. My gun maker pumps out awesome guns but my sword makers seem to do less, somehow.

It's why I'm raising it. Although the %'s may indicate they're the same, functionally, they're not the same.

I can't make a direct comparison because one of my guys makes guns, and the other makes swords, but I haven't noticed much of a difference in their relative success rates. What I would say, having broken down about 50 assault rifles and 50 katanas in quick succession, is that a 50:50 chance of failure doesn't seem to mean 50:50 :/

It's not 50:50

It's incremental decrease in failure % based on stats. The higher your stat, the lower the failure %.
