Went to do the Paladin quest which is killing 10 zombies and having 10k on hand. Had forgotten to withdraw the money, so the first time, the Paladin didn't start the quest. Went back with the money and the Paladin took it and Duana was changed into a Paladin - without having to kill the zombies.

Is it supposed to take into account any you had killed before seeking out the Paladin?

Between the time of not having the money, and the second time with the money, did you slay 10 zombies?

No. Went straight from the Paladin to the bank and then back to the Paladin.

Was under the impression that the Paladin got paid before the quest counter would start.

I have yet to do the Paladin quest, but for sorcerer, I had to go see the sorcerer apprentice twice: First time, he sent me to do the quest. After that, I waited over a month to gather the required pxp and money, and returned to pay for the quest.
