What am I missing? Energy at day change vs acorn

Three characters all brought to below 4 energy at the same time, swapped between them to check.
(Ten or so minutes ago) shortly after day change...
Vamp with deepsleeper acorn (bought a few days ago) has lost one blood point and had 56 energy.
Human sorcerer in the wilderness without an acorn... also 56 energy.
Human paladin still in Tutorial ... 68.9 energy (from a 2.9 energy start point).
I could figure the tutorial hub is generous, but the acorn says +10 energy at day change.
So what info am I missing? Does the acorn work differently? or do sorcerers gain more?

What's your stamina like on said accounts?
Stamina defines your character's energy. Raising this stat affects a character in the following ways:
Increases maximum energy.
Increases amount of energy regenerated each hour.
Increases amount of damage withstood before defeat (hidden 'Battle Weariness' rating).
Formula:
Maximum Energy = 50 + (Stamina * 1.5)
Energy gained per hour = 4.5 + (Stamina / 10)

Stamina 20, 21 and 20 respectively. With the similar staminas, starting from about zero, I should be expecting the acorn vamp to be ahead of the Sorcerer immediately after day change, provided they haven't hit max energy, yes? They don't have powers or skills that affect it, nor other relics.
Going to try again too.
Worked out part of the difference, Script programming. That explains the Paladin ahead, but both the vamp and sorcerer are programming scripts. Still looking at the acorn difference.
Vamp - 4.5 energy in an hour, sorc 5.6, paladin 6.5.
Okay, acorn works, just that my vamp seems to be 1 energy short each hour.
Energy gained per hour = 4.5 + (Stamina / 10) = 6.5
Minus 1 for script programming = 5.5
Anything else cost 1 energy an hour?

I believe if your character is employed, it is 1 energy an hour.

Aside from programming and business, I don't think there is anything that takes 'background' energy - that I know of - since crafting, forging, killing NPCs, rituals, raids, PVP, and B&E are all in the moment type things, but I could be wrong. I'm trying to look on wiki pages for anything else. So far, nothing aside from what you guys posted:
Jobs
Please be aware that taking a job will cause you to lose 1 energy per hour. However, you will also gain two experience per hour, without having to actually do anything on grid.
Programming Notes
1 energy will be taken per hour until the script is completed & collected.

How about....
For if you have someone listed on your enemy list-depending on whether you have sentry mode on-you will hit them automatically at times. A tip from us to you is to constantly update both of these lists. Whether it be friends or enemies, it is best to make sure it is kept updated so that you do not end up making a mistake your character will regret down the road. Note: Setting your character to one of these modes takes 1 energy per hour.

Bingo!
That's the other thing I was forgetting!
Thanks!

Thanks everyone. My relatively infrequent login frequency used to mean that the script programming and the job made no apparent difference for so long I had forgotten the consequences of those choices, only seen, now that I've been logging in more often.

also, max energy has no effect on the acorn
if you are max, it will give you 10 over

20 stamina = 80 energy max... so if left alone for a while should end up on 90? that wasn't happening (never saw more than 80 energy), and started the testing, that started this thread.
Going to test that one out soon, specifically around the max energy before day change thing.
