Yin, A soft Opening

Doc sat at the piano, he couldn't play. He just liked the instrument. There would be someone who could who would arrive later. In his hand was a glass of bourbon, that he sipped stingily. Tonight was not a night to get drunk. He wanted this place, as a refuge for himself, and those that he liked. That was the point in not having a grand opening. He could control the crowd for the most part. On the other hand it was a public place. But not one that would have club music. When the piano was not in use.. there would be soft slow jazz playing from the subtly placed speakers.
Elizabeth entered cautiously, glancing around before the woman in the nude tone dress with black overlay appeared, a black coloured glossy folder in her left arm. She smiled when her blue orbs fell upon Doc at the golden coloured piano while Elizabeth progressed in the male's direction. "Good evening, Doc." Elizabeth bowed her head slightly in his direction, before her eyes landed on his drink. "I do hope I am not late..." Her eyes wandered the length of the bar, as she slid beside him on the bench.
Doc gave her a crooked grin, "No you are not late at all, Lizzie. I was making sure I had a good seat.." He relaxed somewhat. "You don't mind if I sit by you for a few minutes? Until I have to do host duties?"
MortllWalked in She was wearing a short black dress her hair tied up in the back fastened with diamonds sparkling above the smooth dark hair. Matching Earrings dangled from her ears and she carried a small silk bag big enough to fit her hand gun. After all this was Doc's party .
Elizabeth: The woman shook her head, and offered a small smile. "No, of course not." She assured him, the woman opening the folder and pulling out some sheet music that she had printed off a few weeks ago. Blue eyes fell on Mortll as she walked in for a brief moment, before the woman's fingers came to rest softly above the black and white teeth of the piano. After observing the sheet music for a quiet few seconds, the woman started playing a piece by Chopin, as the opening song.

Doc, to be honest wasn't expecting a large crowd. He only invited a select few. Of those he invited, he knew one would rather claw his eyes out rather than be there. And Doc wouldn't hold it against him. Then Enzo... well he was ******* workaholic.. worse than Doc himself... he doubted he would show up.. and as if the thought summoned the Devil.. Mortll sauntered in. Doc grinned openly at her. One reason.. it Mortll.. and second.. she was stag.. He would ******* dig at Enzo to no end for this. As Lizzie started playing, he knew he struck gold getting her to agree to play. He nodded at Mortll, trying not to interrupt Lizzie.
Amalea peeked her head in quietly, ensuring she was in the right spot before slipping in the door. Stepping out of the way, she stopped to glance about the space, taking in the decor. Her sleeveless black cocktail dress was an appropriate choice for the event, she mused as she made her way towards everyone.
Doc: Once Doc noticed Lea, he stood up, and moved to the bar. He placed a order and waited for it. As the bartender handed it off, he crossed the floor toward Lea and upon reaching her, he handed her the cocktail. "Good evening Lea.. thank you for coming. Complimentary signature drink.. on the house." He motioned her over toward Mortll. "I haven't had a chance to speak to Mortll yet.. shall head toward her?"
Elizabeth: Another woman entered, Elizabeth positive she had seen her a time or two before at other events, or at least around the city, but the name escaped Elizabeth. Her attention remained on the keys, eyes flicking to the sheet music occasionally as the song progressed by her fingers.
Mortll watched as Doc moved about the room. She was married not totally dead . She still thought him handsome that hadn't changed just because she had Enzo now. And he looked particularly nice tonight. She smiled as him and The human Amalea approached Not to long ago you wouldn't have seen Mortll even associating with a Blood thief but a few recent turns had changed her mind about these beings. She would still probably go ballistic if one fed from her without her permission.

Amalea wasn't surprised to see Mortll nor was she surprised that Enzo hadn't been able to make it; he worked far too hard lately. She knew she should have known the name of the talented woman at the piano, but was drawing a blank. The offered drink was a bit of a surprise. She took it, smiling at Doc, "Thank you. I wouldn't have missed this for anything. It suits you." Following his lead, she nodded with a soft laugh, "Lead on, I'd love to say hi myself."
Doc escorted Lea over to Mortll. Doc would have gotten her a drink, but he knew her. She didn't drink. Since they were in the Mall.. he hadn't talked with Ari about carrying her blend yet, because he wasn't convinced it was a good idea yet. Reaching Mortll's side, Doc nodded, "Mortll.. you look devastatingly attractive tonight.. You know Lea.. yes?" He knew she did. He was being ..polite. "Enzo doesn't know what he's missing.."
Elizabeth: When the song came to an end, there was a brief silence before Elizabeth started playing another piece by Chopin, titled 'Raindrop.' The woman slightly more familiar with this piece than the other, so had little need to search for the copy of the piece.
Mortll smiled "Of course i know Amalea she is part of Voodoo Dragons. A most Valued member. Enzo works too much" she frowned slightly then let it go She reached out and slid a finger down the lapel of his suit coat "You look mighty sharp yourself tonight " then winked at him
Doc gave Mortll a smile. "Thank you Mortll..I do try.." He glanced at Lea, "You're a Dragon now are you? I was not aware,.. does one congratulate another on something like that? I am unsure of the etiquette..?"
Mortll"Well she is well cared for if you think that is something to congratulate someone on ... Though i've never heard any complaints from you about my Dragon qualities ." She smiled knowing that she had done enough complaining for three or four people .
Amalea inclined her head towards the woman, "Evening, Mortll. Love the dress." She had to stifle a laugh at antics of the other woman. It was certain to be a pleasant evening. Doc's question, however, did cause a soft giggle, "Adopted into the Dragon's den and have yet to stab anyone for pet human comments." Which was true given no one had voiced them, as far as she could remember, in her hearing. "It's a pleasant change from being surrounded by other humans all the time."
