Yin, A soft Opening

by Doc
Doc sat at the piano, he couldn't play. He just liked the instrument. There would be someone who could who would arrive later. In his hand was a glass of bourbon, that he sipped stingily. Tonight was not a night to get drunk. He wanted this place, as a refuge for himself, and those that he liked. That was the point in not having a grand opening. He could control the crowd for the most part. On the other hand it was a public place. But not one that would have club music. When the piano was not in use.. there would be soft slow jazz playing from the subtly placed speakers.

Elizabeth entered cautiously, glancing around before the woman in the nude tone dress with black overlay appeared, a black coloured glossy folder in her left arm. She smiled when her blue orbs fell upon Doc at the golden coloured piano while Elizabeth progressed in the male's direction. "Good evening, Doc." Elizabeth bowed her head slightly in his direction, before her eyes landed on his drink. "I do hope I am not late..." Her eyes wandered the length of the bar, as she slid beside him on the bench.

Doc gave her a crooked grin, "No you are not late at all, Lizzie. I was making sure I had a good seat.." He relaxed somewhat. "You don't mind if I sit by you for a few minutes? Until I have to do host duties?"

MortllWalked in She was wearing a short black dress her hair tied up in the back fastened with diamonds sparkling above the smooth dark hair. Matching Earrings dangled from her ears and she carried a small silk bag big enough to fit her hand gun. After all this was Doc's party .

Elizabeth: The woman shook her head, and offered a small smile. "No, of course not." She assured him, the woman opening the folder and pulling out some sheet music that she had printed off a few weeks ago. Blue eyes fell on Mortll as she walked in for a brief moment, before the woman's fingers came to rest softly above the black and white teeth of the piano. After observing the sheet music for a quiet few seconds, the woman started playing a piece by Chopin, as the opening song.

Elizabeth: (Playing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOcryGEwNY )

Doc, to be honest wasn't expecting a large crowd. He only invited a select few. Of those he invited, he knew one would rather claw his eyes out rather than be there. And Doc wouldn't hold it against him. Then Enzo... well he was ******* workaholic.. worse than Doc himself... he doubted he would show up.. and as if the thought summoned the Devil.. Mortll sauntered in. Doc grinned openly at her. One reason.. it Mortll.. and second.. she was stag.. He would ******* dig at Enzo to no end for this. As Lizzie started playing, he knew he struck gold getting her to agree to play. He nodded at Mortll, trying not to interrupt Lizzie.

Amalea peeked her head in quietly, ensuring she was in the right spot before slipping in the door. Stepping out of the way, she stopped to glance about the space, taking in the decor. Her sleeveless black cocktail dress was an appropriate choice for the event, she mused as she made her way towards everyone.

Doc: Once Doc noticed Lea, he stood up, and moved to the bar. He placed a order and waited for it. As the bartender handed it off, he crossed the floor toward Lea and upon reaching her, he handed her the cocktail. "Good evening Lea.. thank you for coming. Complimentary signature drink.. on the house." He motioned her over toward Mortll. "I haven't had a chance to speak to Mortll yet.. shall head toward her?"

Elizabeth: Another woman entered, Elizabeth positive she had seen her a time or two before at other events, or at least around the city, but the name escaped Elizabeth. Her attention remained on the keys, eyes flicking to the sheet music occasionally as the song progressed by her fingers.

Mortll watched as Doc moved about the room. She was married not totally dead . She still thought him handsome that hadn't changed just because she had Enzo now. And he looked particularly nice tonight. She smiled as him and The human Amalea approached Not to long ago you wouldn't have seen Mortll even associating with a Blood thief but a few recent turns had changed her mind about these beings. She would still probably go ballistic if one fed from her without her permission.

Amalea wasn't surprised to see Mortll nor was she surprised that Enzo hadn't been able to make it; he worked far too hard lately. She knew she should have known the name of the talented woman at the piano, but was drawing a blank. The offered drink was a bit of a surprise. She took it, smiling at Doc, "Thank you. I wouldn't have missed this for anything. It suits you." Following his lead, she nodded with a soft laugh, "Lead on, I'd love to say hi myself."

Doc escorted Lea over to Mortll. Doc would have gotten her a drink, but he knew her. She didn't drink. Since they were in the Mall.. he hadn't talked with Ari about carrying her blend yet, because he wasn't convinced it was a good idea yet. Reaching Mortll's side, Doc nodded, "Mortll.. you look devastatingly attractive tonight.. You know Lea.. yes?" He knew she did. He was being ..polite. "Enzo doesn't know what he's missing.."

Elizabeth: When the song came to an end, there was a brief silence before Elizabeth started playing another piece by Chopin, titled 'Raindrop.' The woman slightly more familiar with this piece than the other, so had little need to search for the copy of the piece.

Mortll smiled "Of course i know Amalea she is part of Voodoo Dragons. A most Valued member. Enzo works too much" she frowned slightly then let it go She reached out and slid a finger down the lapel of his suit coat "You look mighty sharp yourself tonight " then winked at him

Doc gave Mortll a smile. "Thank you Mortll..I do try.." He glanced at Lea, "You're a Dragon now are you? I was not aware,.. does one congratulate another on something like that? I am unsure of the etiquette..?"
Mortll"Well she is well cared for if you think that is something to congratulate someone on ... Though i've never heard any complaints from you about my Dragon qualities ." She smiled knowing that she had done enough complaining for three or four people .

Amalea inclined her head towards the woman, "Evening, Mortll. Love the dress." She had to stifle a laugh at antics of the other woman. It was certain to be a pleasant evening. Doc's question, however, did cause a soft giggle, "Adopted into the Dragon's den and have yet to stab anyone for pet human comments." Which was true given no one had voiced them, as far as she could remember, in her hearing. "It's a pleasant change from being surrounded by other humans all the time."

Doc nodded lightly, as he took in the proffered information. "Glad to know all is well.. and I will be sure not to call you 'my pet' as I really dislike being stabbed. I will take a bullet over a stab any night.." he glanced over his shoulder to Elizabeth, "Do either of you know Elizabeth? I met her at the ugly Christmas sweater party. Found out how well she played.. and she was gracious enough to agree to play for us here tonight.."

Mortll chuckled "Yes i know miss Queenie ... i think i once told her i'd rather shoot myself in the head then call her ‘Your Majesty’. She is quite old quite batty quite cunning and quite nice when she is having her rational times. She does play quite well "

Amalea laughed softly, "'My pet' coming from you would be acceptable given how long I've known you." She shrugged slightly, "It's the derogatory comments on it that I take offense from. Though I'll keep that in mind." She winked as she followed his glance, "I'm not entirely sure if I've met her, though I've seen her before. She plays well."

Elizabeth: The woman changed composers when Raindrop was finished, switching to something more upbeat and lively by Johann Strauss. The tempo that of a waltz, which would be revealed after a few chords; Johann's Frühlingsstimmen the perfect song to dance to, if any felt it strike them.

Doc: “She does play well." he said in agreement with Lea, as he heard Mortll's comments, and stored them away. The quite batty comment he questioned. Having had spent quite a bit of time with Lizzie of late, he wasn't sure that maybe Lizzie wasn't playing a game. Especially knowing her impish side. And the music changed, he turned gave Lizzie a smile. That was one of his favorites.

Elizabeth: Elizabeth's eyes drifted over to Doc while she played, catching his smile. She had known the song to be one of his favourites which was why she made sure to play the piece. It was his party and his reveal, after all.

Helena might have hunted Doc down, quite literally just to keep in practice after filling herself due to sleeping far too long. She slipped in, cracking the sleep from her bones.

Doc gave Lizzie a quick wink, as a way of thank you. When he turned back to the ladies, he was surprised when he saw the tiny little Hellhound slip in. Doc side stepped a bit closer to Mortll. Mortll would be the perfect meat shield if the lil Dane launched an attack at him.

Amalea blinked at the quiet new arrival. Given she didn't know this woman, she was a bit more alert than she was normally. No reason to invite trouble here.

Mortll smiled it had been awhile since she had seen Hellena pretty much since the she had gotten engaged to Enzo but she liked the woman and remembered she had a penchant for shooting Doc Well to be honest there were quite a few Women that had a penchant for shooting Doc ... that might explain her sudden shadow .

Elizabeth: The song changed to something slightly more dramatic once there was a brief intermission, Elizabeth shuffling the copies of sheet music around until she found the one she was searching for. Another by Strauss, another known to Doc; Soiree De Vienne

Helena snickered. Her lips curved into a mirthful expression as she headed over. Calm as can be. Ice blue eyes settled on Doc and Mortll. "I get the feeling he isn't happy to see me."

Doc draped an arm about Mortll. "Did I tell you how nice you look tonight?" Angling her a bit more between him and the Lil Dane. Most in the Yin, wouldn't understand Doc and Dane's relationship. Dane liked to torment Doc, and Doc loved to devil Dane. What the lil Dane's mood was in this evening was anyone's guess.. the music changed almost as if on cue.. Doc grinned. "Darling lil Dane.. who wouldn't be pleased to see you?"

Amalea quietly watched the entertainment unfolding before her as she sipped her drink. She couldn't miss the bit of rearranging that occurred, which had amused her. If she had to guess, the newcomer wasn't a huge fan.

Mortll stepped out from in front of Doc and slipped behind him with a smile on her face leaving him in the open. "Lea this is Helena one of Doc's friends " She smiled sweetly as she introduced the two women

Amalea snickered softly at Mortll, turning to the other woman, "Pleased to meet you."

Kaelyn tucked hair behind her ear as she made her way through the door. She looked around the place, a smile pulling at her lips. So this was Papi's new business. Kaelyn stood back for a few minutes, watching everyone to see who was doing what and where she could make her way to without interrupting too much.

Doc smiled at Mortll, while mouthing '**** you' good naturedly at her, before bracing his stance, just in case the Dane decided a full on frontal assault. Then he saw Chub. Nice.. "Chub... " he held his arms open for Kaelyn. New meat shield incoming..

Helena winked at the woman that Mortll was making introductions with; playfully snagging Doc by the collar to shoo way imaginary dust bunnies if only to startle him. "Nice to meet you, Lea."

Kaelyn raised a brow at the woman tugging at Doc's collar, but he was holding arms out for her. She did her duty and hopped right on over to him, arms flinging around his neck and smooches being planted all over his face. Hopefully she didn't bump the other lady too much. "Hi, Papi!"

Doc had the Chub clutching him. He smirked at Dane as if to say. Ha.. SHIELD. "Hi Chub.. do you know everyone?"

Kaelyn nodded her head "I believe so." She was sure she had met everyone, but didn't overly know the Elizabeth one.

Amalea was definitely amused now. That didn't mean she'd fully let her guard down, however. She smiled at Kaelyn, "Good Evening, Kaelyn."

Doc did his best to unwrap Chub's arms from around his neck, while keeping her between Dane and himself. "Good good.."

Helena quirked an eyebrow. The more he tried to shield himself... The more she wanted to make him scream like a little girl. Her gaze went to Lea though. She would torture Doc when he wasn't expecting it. It was impolite to only give the kind of greeting she had given. So she offered out her hand for a proper handshake. "Hel or Hells works."

Doc: "Hellhound.. you mean.." Under his breath..

Kaelyn let loose and turned to lean against him while looking at the others. "Hello, Lea. It's lovely to see you again. Hello Dane" Had wanted to say Doggy...but she would have gotten in trouble

Helena: “Hej, Kaelyn.”

Amalea laughed softly as she shook the offered hand, "Nice to meet you, Hel. Wouldn't be short for Hellion, would it?" She smiled at Kae quick, "Always a pleasure."

Helena blinked, "Have we met before?" It was a serious question. Quite a few people called her that for some reason or another.

Doc choked back a snort, at Dane's question, and grinned at Lea. "She will deny it.. " his voice lowered, "Denial.. a sad thing.." He pressed his lips together in mock sadness.

Mortll smiled and left Doc to trying to keep a human shield. Walking slowly over to the piano she leaned up on it close to where the older vampiress was playing " Hello Elizabeth you play beautifully ... Where has Shamus gotten himself off to i haven't seen him in ages " Mortll kind of missed him she didn't see too much of him since he bound to Elizabeth and now it was non existent She had lost too many old friends .

Amalea shook her head with a laugh, "I fear we have not met. It was a mere guess." She eyed Doc, "Most hellions would, would they not?"

Kaelyn eyed the woman playing the piano and then the piano itself. It was beautiful. Kaelyn made her way over to the instrument and ran fingers over it. She would wait her turn. The blonde would probably be found in Papi's new business often.

Helena smiled, oh so sweetly, when Kaelyn abandoned Doc. "Are the fish still biting?"

Doc having lost his shield, did the next best thing, and attempted to pull the Dane into a hug. A hug that was mostly him wrapping his arm around her neck from behind her.. in would could be seen a big brother type hug, but was really, I am protecting my manhood from Devil Dane’s type hug. "Aren't they always?"

Amalea was snickering softly knowing there had to be a story there somewhere.

Helena paused... But only momentarily. The woman had no shame in letting her hands drop. One reaching back and behind her to grab and squeeze onto something very private and very delicate. Her face calm and composed as a porcelain doll as she did so, "Now, now. If you want my affections, you have but to ask. You know I've always been rather fond of you."

Elizabeth: Elizabeth finished the song by Strauss, and then turned to look at Mortll, with a smile upon her features. "Thank you." Very slowly her shoulders lifted into a high shrug, then laughed. "When you find him, do let me know?" She replied, while collecting her copies and placing them within the folder. "Please, feel free to sit and enjoy the instrument." Elizabeth stepped away from the bench, offering it to Mortll.

Doc drew a sharp breath, and said in a slightly strained voice. "You are a devil.. " and then lightly headbutted the back of her head with his head.

Kaelyn walked away from the piano for now and made her way back over to Papi. She blinked a few times at the embrace. That was strange. And then a headbutt? Weird. She scooted on up to him and smiled "Dane, would you like a drink? Papi?"

Doc shook his head at Chub, he really couldn't trust him to speak.. while dane had the jewels.

Helena bit on her tongue to keep from barking out a rather unpleasant Danish slur of words. A spark passed through her iced blue eyes momentarily; but, she pressed her lips together in a sweet smile, "No thank you." She did not let go.

Mortll looked at Elizabeth Horror stricken. She couldn't play a piano if she tried ... "Ummm i dont know how to play " she said after the retreating woman . She looked towards Doc with a **** me expression on her face. and shot a loud thought straight into his head " I don't play the ******* piano but the ***** just walked off and wants me to play !"

Kaelyn rocked on her feet some "Papi, can you show me...us around?"

Doc would have loved to bail Mortll out.. but Dane had his jewels. Doc would have acquiesced to showing Chub around.. but.. The Dane had his jewels.. "Not .. right now.."

Helena will let go as soon as you let go of her.

Helena was manhandled first, mind you.

Kaelyn shrugged "Ok...I'm going to go play then." She skipped her way back over to the piano and looked to Mortll who had a look of almost horror on her face "Are you going to play, or do you mind if I take over?"
Doc's soft opening was turning into a fight club. He said back to Mortll's mind ~You got your jewels in a vicegrip? No.. then just say no...~

Elizabeth made her way over to where Doc, and two unknown women were, oblivious to the entire thing until she started speaking. "I thought perhaps Mortll may-" She paused and dropped her gaze, blinking in surprise. "You two must be very...close." Elizabeth's eyes flicked from Doc to Helena, misreading the entire situation, having missed everything up to this point.

Mortll took a desperate look at Doc and then at the retreating woman and shrugged her shoulders and marched over to Doc ... She looked at Helena " Excuse me i need him "

Helena: “..... In a sort of... Sibling rivalry way.”

Amaleais starting to wonder if she was the only sane one present; at least till Mortll made herself known again.

Helena released him. Now stop your weird hug.

Helena “All yours.”

Doc could have kissed Mortll right then and there, **** Enzo.. but he actually liked Enzo.. As Mortll spoke.. let loosened his hold on Dane, and gave Lizzie a look that clearly said.. 'no it's not what you think...' And it wasn't. ****. He moved off with Mortll as Chub sat at the piano. "Mortll.. Thank you.."

Kaelyn sat at the bench as Mortll walked away. She thought a moment before she started playing. Tchaikovsky was always fun to play. While playing, focus was completely on the piano, not noticing much of anything else.

Elizabeth's attention shifted away when Doc and Mortll left, her eyes on the woman playing now. Elizabeth was familiar with the composer, but had none of his words in her folder for the evening. Elizabeth moved away from where the woman that had been 'close' with Doc was standing and moved to claim a seat at a table, not far from the piano and the player.

Helena wiped her hand off on her dress. She felt pretty victorious. Considering she hadn't even came to pick a fight in the first place.

Doc looked at Mortll. "I owe you. thank you. I need to go introduce Elizabeth to everyone." He pressed a kiss to the side of her head, and moved over toward the table Elizabeth sat it. He looked at her. "It is not what you might have thought.. She really is a lot of fun.. Her name is Dane.." He stood, and would stay standing until she invited him to sit.

Amalea looked around, choosing a seat from which she could watch the others.

Elizabeth: A thin brow rose as Doc approached, the woman smiling as he tried to explain things further. "Please sit," She extended a hand towards the seat beside her. "I had not given it much thought, honestly." Amusement riddled her eyes, before they turned away from Doc and watched the woman once again. "Are you enjoying yourself?" She inquired, eyes flicking to the one known as 'Dane,' before moving around the width of the Bourbon bar.

Kaelyn finished up the piece she had been working on before moving right into a piece by Vivaldi. Music was her biggest passion and piano was the first instrument she had ever learned to play. She had been playing since she was two.

Doc was still standing. "I am .. a little sore.. but Dane will say I deserved it.. However.. I want to introduce you.. to everyone. You know Mortll. She mentioned you. But.. Let me introduce to everyone else.. Even the DevilDog.. or HellHound .. aka Dane.." he held out a hand to her. "Please Lizzie?"

Helena is quite a dulcet person, thank you very much.

Doc adores the Dane. You're welcome.

Helena returns the adoration, of course.

Elizabeth: At the change of the music, her attention moved back to the woman at the piano, noting all too well who wrote that piece of music. The woman played splendidly, and Elizabeth would have to make a point to remember to tell the woman at some point this evening. When a hand was offered, Elizabeth nodded her head and took it, rising. "Of course, Doc." She smiled at him warmly, eyes drifting for a moment to the 'sore' area, feeling bad for Doc. Her eyes didn't stay there long, just enough to acknowledge that she had heard what he said, before the woman looked towards 'Dane.' "Shall we?"

Mortll went to the bar and grabbed a large glass filling it with ice and mixed a drink She walked back over to Doc with a evil little grin on her face " Cocktail to ice your balls or to drink or both ?"

Mortll shoved the drink at Doc not waiting for his answer

Doc smirked at Mortll, taking the drink, then looked at Lizzie, "You know Mortll.. need I say more? Except.. that she is always there when she is needed.. or asked." He offered Lizzie his free hand, then led her to Lea and Dane. "Amalea, Dane.. this is Elizabeth. Our official pianist for the evening. Elizabeth, this is Amalea, a long standing acquaintance that i believe you would like.. and this is Dane. She’s tiny.. but a little mightymouse.. Do not get on her bad side. She has a memory like an elephant."

Helena quirks an eyebrow at the tiny comment; but, eventually gave a warm smile. "Hej. Nice to meet you, Elizabeth." She offered out a hand to the woman.

Amalea stood as Doc escorted Elizabeth over. "Good evening, Elizabeth. You play wonderfully."

Elizabeth: Blue eyes shifted to both women as they were introduced to her by Doc. A hand was offered, to which

Elizabeth took it and smiled. "Very nice to meet thee, Dane. Amalea." Elizabeth acknowledged the woman with a polite dip of her head, then smiling at her. "It is nice to meet the both of you." She said, before her blue eyes lit up at the compliment. "Thank you. Do you play?" She inquired, eyes shifting to Amalea for the time being.

Doc blew Dane an imaginary kiss, then raised his eyebrows as if to say.. ha! I survived.

Amalea smiled, "Nice to meet you as well." She could have laughed at the question of her playing given how bad it was. Instead, she shook her head, "Regretfully, no. Enjoy the music but I'm afraid I can't read it to save my life."

Doc: "Do not feel in the minority.. because I also .. never understood musical notes. Three years of piano lessons.. chopsticks is all I can play.."

Doc glanced about sheepishly.. "And only the first part.."

Amalea laughed softly, "You're one up on me. I'm afraid I can't even do that."

Kaelyn finished up her second piece and scooted back from the piano. She looked around to see what was going on now. Papi was making introductions. Legs crossed as she sat on the bench, watching them all.

Doc: "Three ******* years Lea.. and I can only use two ******* fingers.'

Kaelyn would have choked if she had been drinking. Why did that sound dirty?

Helena: “...”

Helen arose an eyebrow at Doc.

Amalea snickers, "Well...I have no comment on that."

Doc grinned openly. Yes. He did it again. Score.

Amalea did but they weren't exactly polite for the current company. She just shook her head in amusement.

Elizabeth: The woman nodded her head, understanding that most people had other hobbies to pass their time with in this time period. Doc spoke no truer words about the minority, knowing that she was in the minority. Chopsticks was not something Elizabeth was familiar with, so the woman remained silent until there was something said in a certain way. Her own brow rose as her attention shifted to Doc, still staying silent.

Mortll: "If i remember correctly you You play well Doc just not Pianos "

Doc saw Elizabeth's look from his periphery and turned his head to look at her. He sent her a mental thought.. while making an half hearted shrug; before he looked at Mortll and grinned, "thank you.. "

Elizabeth: The woman's lips twisted into a coy smile before she spoke softly. "Three years and only two fingers? I imagine you are not the only one left disappointed...Doc." The woman's eyes shifted to Mortll and at her comment, slightly curious.

Helena: How does every get together end in women teasing Doc?

Kaelyn found it slightly awkward

Amalea bit her cheek as not to laugh as she so wanted. She was enjoying this, if truth be told.

Doc: "At playing the PIANO woman.. The Piano! ****.. "

Mortll looked at Doc seriously "You didn't tickle my ivories "

Doc seriously facepalmed.

Mortll Grinned

Kaelyn blinked a few times, turned and started playing once again. Something more lively and upbeat this time.

Elizabeth looked between Doc and Mortll and then pressed her lips together to keep from laughing at the entire ordeal. "Perhaps one simply did not practice enough. The saying practice makes perfect does not come from thin air." A roll of her shoulders, before Elizabeth glanced away from Mortll and Doc, to focus on others within the room. The woman at the silent piano, the bartender.

Doc could not remember why he could not remember why he could never win. try.. yes. Win? Never.

Doc gave Lizzie a deadpan look, "Maybe I need the right instructor?"

Amalea simply laughed softly, glad she had been able to come tonight.

Elizabeth: Elizabeth returned her gaze to Doc, smiling warmly. "Perhaps, but when it come to tickling ivory, you either possess that talent, or you do not." She looked candidly at Doc.

Doc: "precisely.. it is clear, I do not." He shook his head and smirked "But I do appreciate those that can.."
Mortll"He has little patience when bored but is a apt student and learns quickly very nimble and talented fingers or he wouldn't be a surgeon "

Doc slid a look at Mortll and blew her a kiss. "For the record. You never bored me."

Mortll: "Key would be to not let him get bored or he can be horrendous "

Mortll laughed " I try "

Amalea giggled as she offered, "Well, you really don't need talented fingers if all your surgeries are on corpses." A small smile at Doc was the only indication that she was joking.

Elizabeth's brow rose and then Elizabeth's attention pinpointed on Amalea. The woman revealed a smirk, enjoying the humour behind her words.

Doc almost snorted. Lea had a point. Most Coroners were hamfisted cunts.

Mortll looked at Amalea seriously "You calling me a Corpse ?"

Doc” "A delectable corpse.. but .. in the true definition of the word.. " he let his words die off. He wasn't helping.

Helena absently gave a low whistle of appreciation at Mortll in agreement with Doc while she eyed her phone.

Kaelyn pulled back from the piano and went to the bar to order a drink.

Amalea shook her head at Mortll, rolling her eyes lightly at Doc, "Technicalities aside... not at all."

Doc mock gasped, "Lea! NO! Do not become politically correct.."

Doc made the sign of the cross with his two fore fingers.

Mortll smiled she was joking with the woman just to see what she would say at least she didn't crumble .

Mortll looked at Doc " Ohhh come on not everyone can be a snarky *** ******** it takes talent "

Elizabeth: At the lack of piano playing, Elizabeth's blue eyes bounced to everyone. "I believe, that may be my cue, informing me I can play once again. "It was nice meeting all of you."

Amalea snorted, "Me? Politically correct?" She shook her head, "Day that happens, someone just shoot me."

Doc gave Lizzie a wounded look as she left him to be verbally eviscerated, by those surrounding him. he hung his head. "I surrender."

Elizabeth smiled at Doc and gave him a wave of her fingers, winking at him, as he had her earlier in the evening. Fate had decided his lost, after all...She moved to the piano bench and once again claimed it, playing a piece by Beethoven; one of his infamous sonatas

Amalea laughed softly, as she patted his arm lightly, "Wise. Too many woman for anything else."

Doc nods in agreement with Lea, as Elizabeth started playing Sonata . If ever there was a prelude to a death march.. this was it. Lizzie had a sadistic side. He cast a look her way that held amusement, and the unsaid 'Touche''

Mortll: "You know we love you. Don't act so wounded "

Kaelyn sipped at her newly acquired whiskey. Being in a room filled with women and her Papi was odd to say the least.

Doc: "Drinks to who wants them.. on the house.. The host surrenders to the will of the ladies..." He touched his forehead an elegant flourish bowed in deference to all the ladies present

Kaelyn: “Papi, where is Ric? He's your friend.”

Doc: "Ric is bro.." He nodded. "But I think Minx has him doing origami or some **** tonight.." he lied evenly and hopefully effectively.

Kaelyn: “She should be here too..I like her.”

Doc: "It's Origami Friday.. and something about Chinese new years.. and making paper candles.." Hopefully another effective believable lie.

Kaelyn would argue that that was a terrible excuse, but she'd drop it. "Where's Ari?"

Doc pretended he didn't hear the question, because then he wouldn't have to lie about Ari.

Kaelyn pulled out her phone and sent a text

Amalea laughed softly, "Chinese New Year is tomorrow. Year of the Rooster."

Kaelyn: “It would be the year of the ****.”

Elizabeth: The song came to a conclusion, the woman catching the last of what Amalea said about roosters. A brow raised in Doc's direction after Kaelyn spoke, seeing now the type of individuals Doc surrounder himself with. all of it...interesting.

Doc: "Ah ha! Chub there is your answer.. Lea.. says tomorrow is the year of the ****.. That's why Ric isnt here.. He's making sure to place his where it needs to be..

Kaelyn: “Gross”

Doc: "You know.. at the beginning of the year.. " He grinned.

Kaelyn didn't normally talk like that >.> she was just joining in with the others

Doc was just answering a question.

Amalea blinked before snorting. She wasn't about to answer Kaelyn's comment with any sort of statement.

Elizabeth joined in with the blinking.

Kaelyn downed her drink "It's been great...but I'm going to go see if the Mister is home."

Amalea: "The Mister?"

Kaelyn: “The guy I'm with…”

Mortll: "Human isn't he?"

Amalea nodded slowly, apparently out of the loop.

Kaelyn nodded slightly, staring at Mortll. It wasn't something she shared with just everyone.

Mortll: "Doubt that matters anymore since we were outed I was worried about you for awhile though you started dating him while Doc and I were together. Things were different back then with Ty and all "

Kaelyn: “He's worth it and can take care of himself. He's a big boy.”

Amalea: "He got a name?"

Kaelyn eyed Lea a moment. "He does..."

Amalea just eyed the woman back. "I'd dare say you're not serious about him given he never accompanies you to any gatherings and you never call him by name."

Kaelyn: “I'd dare say you don't know me nor our relationship at all.”

Mortll: "She's serious ... just private and he's that way to you don't see much of him at all "

Mortll: "He's older ... it's a unlikely match but she has stuck it out i give her a lot of credit it wasn't easy too many nay sayers and she is there ... can't be nothing there for her to have stuck with it like she has " Mortll was mostly thinking out loud and answering Lea's question too

Amalea shrugged at the young woman, "I can only comment on things I see." She nodded at Mortll, "If she's been with him so long she's either serious or using him, though I doubt the using part. And I can understand the desire to be a private person. I just find it odd to never see them attend these together, even briefly."

Kaelyn narrowed her eyes some. "Everyone handles their relationships in their own way. He and I have been to public outings a handful of times. We choose to remain very private."
