Bullseye (Lucifer)

The tall redheaded woman stood with blue and gold colored darts in her right hand, glancing at the board in the heavily populated pub. “Going to play, or just look at it?” Prudence glanced to the woman with the quip; her thrall, Ryker. “It's all about tactic, ya dumbie.” Prudence rolled her eyes, glanced back at the board and started throwing the darts anyways.

Streaks of blue cold be seeing sailing in the direction of the board, landing in various places of the board with no real set rhyme or patterns. The two gold ones came next, because the pub only one mismatched set of darts that they got tired of replacing, until finally, the pub just decided they weren't going to replace them anymore and so people had to pull the darts from the board right after their turn was up. After Prudence did a quick count in her head about her point value, she looked to Ryker who confirmed she had gotten thirty-seven points with the darts, which added on to Prudence's total of nineteen before.

Prudence was, in no shape or form, an expert dart player. She had only played with darts less than a handful of times, each time with her thrall. Ryker had been winning by two points, the both of them trying to see who could get to one hundred first. Now, Pru was in the lead with fifty-six, but she knew Ryker would either catch up, or bypass her in the next round. And, once the woman was done throwing her darts, sure enough. It was now fifty-nine to fifty-six. Prudence groaned a little bit, and took the darts begrudgingly, not used to being the one who was trailing behind so much. Unless she was hanging with Mordechai. In that scenario, the grasshopper had far surpassed the teacher, but there was no ill-will or animosity towards a person she considered a good friend.

“Any ideas on what we're going to do about the re-occurring theme in the bar?” The shorter, dark haired woman asked while Prudence was up to throw again. They had tried to deal with the scum that walked in off the streets time and time again, but after a few weeks, they just came right back in. “Maybe grow a bigger set of balls?” Prudence said, cackling before she tossed a dart and shrugged her shoulders. “I'm all ears. I hate cops, and ain't getting them involved and we've already practically destroyed the bar a couple years ago dealing with the trash...so?” Prudence trailed off, looking at her thrall, simply exasperated.

“Ever think of changing the appeal to the client base?” The woman asked quietly just as Prudence released another dart towards the bar. “What's that mean?” Prudence asked, her blue eyes narrowing. “What it means. You know, get rid of the back room, redecorate...that sort of thing. Make it more inviting for other people; a different type of people.” Ryker said with a shrug of her shoulders. “Ya mean make it like every other ******* bar in this city.” Prudence accused her thrall, eyes still narrowed. “If people want to sit on their asses and kiss the other person's, there are fifty or so other places they could go to do that. No way.” Prudence had thought about it before, but this was the only way she knew how to run a bar and not be completely bored of it. If Prudence had to choose between closing her bar down, or transforming it to some 'fluffy' bar, she would choose the former. Prudence would rather have no bar, than something that wasn't true to her vision or nature.

“Well, there's another option.” Ryker chimed in after Prudence had thrown her last dart. The woman tallied up her points, and said it out loud. “Twenty-one.” Prudence moved to the dart board, her booted feet heavy against the wood flooring and scuffing it occasionally, as she move in its direction. “What's that?” Prudence asked after yanking them from the board and turning to face her full-time bartender. “There's this guy I've been hearing about. In other bars. Seen him once. I think. A friend pointed him out, but he was sort of surrounded by a lot of people. Anyways, they say he...you know.” She made a motion over her throat, indicating slicing one's throat. “Yuh? So? We already been there, done that.” Prudence could take care of her own ****, or at least try to.

“We have and...” Ryker trailed off, not wanting to finish the thought. “They say he's really good at it. Maybe he has some connections and could get a little higher up on things. If you catch my drift.” Rkyer nodded and then held out her hand to take the darts. Prudence knew exactly what Ryker didn't say, but decided to gloss over it. “Really good, huh?” Prudence snorted and rolled her eyes, but this conversation was peaking her interest. Who was this guy and how good was he? Was it someone she knew, or heard of, before?

“Really good.” Ryker gushed, almost to the point Prudence wanted to barf. “Get ahold of yourself. Jesus.” Prudence already figured out by Ryker's pink tinted cheeks that whoever this guy was, was good and probably 'cute' in her thrall's eyes. “know where he might be?” Prudence asked, interested for two or three reasons. “Maybe. I saw him a couple times at this one club on the other side of town. Prudence rolled her eyes. Clubs. Great. Already she felt her attention dwindling and her thrall must have known it, because she grabbed Prudence's hand, set the darts down and led her out of the pub. “What's the worst thing that could happen, other than listening to a song or two you don't like?” Ryker asked as the two of them headed down the block towards the train station.

Dark orbs stared at the window as the curtains caught up in the nightly breeze, waving around, almost dancing as they tangled together. As Lucifer slipped out of the bed and began dressing, his eyes glanced over at the two naked bodies laying face down on the king size bed, sheets draped over parts of their exposed bodies, the rest of their bare skin leaving little to the imagination, even if you hadn't just slept with them. He shut the window quietly, followed by buttoning his clothing up as he exited his room, now perfectly dressed in his usual suit get up but without the tie tonight. Once he stepped into the elevator, he jabbed the ground floor button with his finger a few times as the ride was frustratingly slow for only a few floors.

As the doors opened, Lucifer emerged just off to the side of the bar, his first pit stop every time he left his room. Without a word needing to be spoken, a glass slid along the bench and stopped just beside his waiting hand. Lucifer had patience but the bar tender was always quick to serve one of his frequent customers. With a flick of his wrist, his hand slipped into his pocket and back out, dropping some money on the counter as he walked away from the bar and over to the dance floor.

Most people in this club knew Lucifer, if not by sight, certainly by reputation. He took on an odd line of work but his skill set was perfected for such art when it came to torture, information extraction and ultimately death. Nothing sends a message better than being beaten, being tortured and eventually being set alight. Everyone around the club scene knew if work needed to be done, Lucy was the guy for it and everyone knew if Lucy came after you, you were literally hours from death. His skills have thus far proved to be to much for the local police force, whilst they know of Lucifer and have roughly 50 odd cases which fit his MO, they lack sufficient evidence to do anything to him.

Lucifer downed his drink quickly, a warn sensation passing down his throat as he placed his now empty glass on a table before slipping into the crowd on the dance floor. The air was filled with booze and sweat but that didn't worry Lucy, in truth he much preferred it rather than the usual urine and blood smell that came with his line of work. With his thoughts miles away, one sharp slap on his arse drew him back to reality and back to the dance floor where bodies rubbed together, grinding against each other in time with the music. His hands were quick to roam inappropriately against the woman in front of him while she pressed her body into his, sliding her arse against his crotch and her back against his chest.

Some time passed and Lucifer grew bored of the bumping, grinding and groping that occurred on the dance floor. Instead he shuffled through the crowds and made his way back to the bar, where like always, another drink found him as he sat down. Hairs stood up on the back of his neck as he felt like someone was lurking behind him. In a few quick movements, he had spun around and grabbed the wrist and neck of the woman behind him, a devious half smirk curling at his lips. In her hand was a small knife, easy to hide away under her clothes but still large enough to do harm to any whom were stabbed by it. Eventually he loosened his grip on her and turned back to his drink as she sat down beside him and ordered one of her own.

“Good try Kat. You’re improving but there is still room to do better.”

They sat there casually talking, mostly about tactics to prevent detection when stalking people and also the easiest to conceal weapons for bounty hunting. Kat was like a student to Lucifer, the first student in fact that he had even bothered to teach his craft too. Others had asked, even begged to learn from him but he didn’t have the time for the average people who usually asked, they were all stupid and bound to get caught before they even drew blood. But Kat, she was different, she already possessed the skill to read facial expressions with alarmingly accuracy when it came to what they would do or say next. Lucifer was far from the strongest or smartest gun for hire, but he knew his work and how to do his job without fail. Jumping people from the shadows was always a useful tactic but straight up fighting them was reckless and stupid because there is always the possibility of what if they are stronger than you were.

Clubs. They weren't something Prudence went into often-or ever. If it wasn't her own, the only time she went inside one was to get rid of a vampire that was running around town, making trouble in the streets. This fact was evident, if not in her facial expressions, then by the clothing she and Ryker wore. Having just left her own bar, the two were dressed a little 'rough,' for this club, let alone any club in the city.

"So, who is this mystery dude?" Prudence asked once they were inside, her blue eyes sweeping the width of the club in search for who the guy might be, before Ryker even told her. The dark haired woman was doing her own investigating of the club, when her line of vision finally stayed in one direction, making Prudence's curiosity grow and her attention seek out what it was her thrall was staring at. There were a few people in that direction, none of them really speaking out to Prudence in terms of knowing any of them, or having seen them in passing at some slaughterfest. "The one at the bar." Ryker said, nodding her head in the direction, a smile still on her face. "No, ****." Prudence said with an eye roll, seeing a couple guys at the bar. "Come on." Prudence groaned, a hand wrapping around Ryker's arm as she led them towards the direction of the bar, dodging the dancing bodies, and the wallflowers too.

Prudence had started weaving to a direction where a man sat by himself, assuming that this was the man Ryker was talking about, but the woman quickly jolted in the opposite direction with a shake of her head. "This way." she said loud enough to be heard over the music that Prudence would never listen to. Clubs. Did she have to remind Ryker how much she -hated- clubs? "Whatever." Prudence said with a shrug of her shoulders as she now followed Ryker, instead of the other way around.

The whole scene was downright embarrassing for everyone, but Ryker didn't seem to notice as she projectile vomited words at the mystery man. "Hi! How are you?" Prudence shook her head, seeing a grand transformation of Ryker, right before her very eyes. The redhead dropped her hand from around her thrall's arm, as the woman continued. "My name is Ryker and this is my friend, Pru." Ryker knew that Prudence liked to be called Pru, so there wasn't any hesitation on just what to call the woman. "And we kind of have a problem, that I know, well, I HOPE you can help us with. We can pay." She concluded, Prudence looking at the woman, saying, 'YOU can pay."

In a place like this one, everyone was too busy on the dance floor or drinking to even notice someone or more than one someone out of place. Still in the line of work that he had been in, Lucifer took notice of these things as he turned his head just enough to catch sight of the two women who had just ended the club. Their attire was not even remotely close to anything that anyone in this place would wear so that meant two things to Luc, the first was that they were completely lost or new to town and looking for a place to hang out, the second was that they knew exactly where they were and that they were looking for someone. One was clearly disinterested in being in this joint so all signs were pointing towards looking for fun or looking for someone, but the way one of them tried to cross the floor as quickly as possible made Luc think this was more of a hunt for a person. Boredom quickly came again so Lucifer returned to face the bar and wave down for another drink.

His hand wrapped around the glass of rum, lifting it to his lips as the warm fluid coated his throat once more. As he reached into his pocket for some more money, the bartender told him that one was on the house. With a nod, Luc just smiled before turning to talk to Kat some more. After another few minutes, Kat decided it was time to leave and said her goodbyes before quickly vanishing into the crowd. A small proud moment filled Lucifers heart, she had almost perfected vanishing from plain sight and all she needed to work on now was basic stealth and of course making sure that she stayed clear of surfaces that reflect things. Those surfaces could make or break an assassination attempt before it even started; just a simple what was that could ruin everything. Fortunately for him, he had perfected that and also knew to strike of a night when reflective surfaces had less light to give anything away.

Someone drew close, hairs stood up on Lucifers neck as he spun around, and standing quickly as he stared at the two women in front of him. At first he was taken back with how they had approached him, usually people gave him a wide girth and plenty of notice before stepping closer, after all he was a trained killer. After the words stopped and the women stood there, Lucifer offered his hand to the one who approached him first, drawing her hand to his lips as he kissed the top of it. No rules said you couldn’t kill people and be a gentleman at the same time.

“Pleasure to meet you Ryker and Pru. I’m Lucifer. What seems to be the problem? Let me take a few stabs and see. Cheating boyfriend? Or some homophobic asshole giving you ****? Or someone is encroaching on your turf? Please do tell, then I will tell you if I so desire to help you, regardless of if you can pay me or not. I pick and choose my work, so the more details you give me, the quicker I can decide if it is worth my time and effort.”

Lucifer gave a soft smile, he did not want to appear completely rude but people often asked him or even begged him for his help and it was often trivial things that were not worth his time or skill. Such things they wanted him to do would be to harm or kill a cheating partner, harm or kill someone who was a homophobic asshole or his favourite was gangland turf wars. Those were always interesting enough and sometimes actually worth his skills. What with the armed combatants and the money and drugs laying about the place when he did finally bust in. It was a challenge with extra perks because he always took a cut of the cash and the drugs but no one dare say a word to him about it. But if a gang asked him to get involved, he did not stop until the entire rival gang was dead.

Prudence watched the entire exchange with a wary and cautious eye. Ryker didn't need any help from the mystery guy when it came to wanting to bone him more than she already did, but the kiss to the hand pretty much sealed the deal and had Prudence snort softly under her nose. The name Lucifer raised a brow, wondering if the guy was named by his mom like that, or if it was an alias. It wasn't a common name, and to be frank, it carried a pretty heavy connotation with it.

Her nose wrinkled when he started naming off what might be their problem. Prudence looked to Ryker, who clearly didn't have a husband, or even a boyfriend with that way she was acting-melting butter in his hands. And if Prudence ever caught Nathaniel cheating; not that she thought he would; she knew how to take care of that avenue all by herself. "Uhm, no. No boyfriend problems. For her." Prudence pointed a finger in Ryker's direction, making it clear that if there were boyfriend problems, it would be on Ryker's end, not hers. Prudence's eyes flicked over Ryker when Lucifer took another stab in the dark as to what might be the girl's problems, the redhead laughing a little. Prudence found both males and females to have great assets (or asses), sometimes, but Ryker and her would never, ever be a thing. Ryker wasn't on the small sliver of 'attracted to women, sometimes' radar that Prudence had. She liked them a little bit softer than she was, and Ryker was just as bad *** as Prudence was. Well, would be, if she was a vampire. but for a human, she was pretty bad ***.

"Bingo. I own a bar, and she works at it." Prudence noticed how Ryker took a side step to Lucifer, so that she was now side by side with the dude, instead of at her side. Beady eyes gave Ryker a disproving look, before Prudence went on. "We've tried to take care of it ourselves...a few times. But the fuckers keep coming back, trying to start **** in our bars and I'm really ******* close to-" She stopped and looked at the both of them, deciding it best to not finish that train of thought. After all, just who was this guy? Could he be a cop? Anything was possible and while Prudence really liked Ryker, she could be a little dense when it came to her vagina. Anyone hot, anyone that paid her any attention, and anyone funny had the girl acting like she was in high school again. And clearly, that was what she was doing at this very moment.

"Think ya can help somehow?" Prudence didn't know what Lucifer could do, that they hadn't tried, but maybe he knew a guy, that knew another guy, that knew the main guy or gal that controlled and ran those fuckers and could hit it that way. People skills were not her forte, so trying to talk to someone diplomatically would only end up with a bullet in someone's skull, and start an all out war. Maybe. Who knew?

The snort from the seemingly less interested lady drew Lucifer’s attention, as his eyes scanned her, he could see her studying him. Pru as she was called didn’t appear to even want to be here but that might change depending on his answer. He reached his large meaty hand out for his glass of rum, pressing it to his lips and taking a few sips before placing it back on the counter, empty. Someone shuffled around behind the bar, refilling Lucifer’s glass and slinking back off to continue to serve other patrons. No words needed to be exchanged; he simply slipped his hand into his pocket to retrieve some money which he then placed on the bar for the bartender.

Watching her nose wrinkle then the exchange of looks caused a soft chuckle from him. Then came finger pointing and suggestive tones when answering his first assumption. Everyone was watching each other, pulling faces and even laughing, as the looks and words flowed. After a few more question and answer scenarios, they had finally narrowed it down to an issue with a bar. Lucifer did love his time spent in bars so this was gaining his interest real fast. Another exchange of looks between the women didn’t go unnoticed but Lucifer remained quiet on that subject for now, it seemed like he was correct with his initial guess that one wanted to be here and one did not.

Frustration rang out in her tone as she explained some of the trouble she was having. Lucifer took his glass in his hand again, sipping at the contents as the women finished her explanation and then finally asked if he could help. The empty glass thunked down on the bar and his lips curled into a devious smile as he stood up. Could he help? Most likely. Would he help? Certainly. Boredom was something that came to him often and this seemed to offer enough of a challenge to curb his boredom for some time at least. Plus he took payment in many different ways and he was most decidedly interested to see what they had to offer.

“Pru, Ryker… I think I can help. Let’s get to work shall we? First and foremost, you need to take me to this bar. Secondly, I need any and all information you have on these thugs. Do they have weapons and if so, do they prefer knives or guns. I imagine you can see where I am going with this and what things you should enlighten me with as we walk and talk. So please, lead the way.”

Lucifer took a step forward, motioning with his hand toward the exit. In truth he was certain it did not matter if they had guns or knives but more about the numbers. He could kill a man with a butter knife if required, but killing them with their own tools was a lot more fun. Gutting them, skinning them, all things he so enjoyed doing.

Lucifer was watching her, as much as Prudence was watching him-and the redhead suspected it was for the same reasons. Trust; there was no level of it on her end with him, and his end with her. And for matters like these, trust was something that was sort of needed. Not just on Prudence's end, but on his too. Essentially, Lucifer was willing to put his *** in the heat and hope he didn't end up getting scorched, burned, or worse. Prudence could essentially be anyone and the problem could be deeper than she was leading on.

When he agreed, a thin, red brow was raised. Prudence hadn't expected him to jump at the opportunity, let alone jump at it so easily. "Well, it's kinda different. Nothing like this." Prudence admitted to Lucifer as she took the first step away from the bar, and essentially him. A hand circled the room, indicating what this meant, in case Lucifer misunderstood what Prudence was saying, or how she was saying. "Typically got a rougher crowd in there-all the time. Which might be some of the problem. Sometimes." Prudence turned back to give Ryker a death stare, then nudged her head to the door, indicating the woman should be hurrying up to leave and not waiting for her latest fascination to walk side by side with her so she could sneakily check the guy out. "I'm coming." Ryker said with a sigh over the music, before she followed after Prudence with her arms crossed at her chest, forgetting about Mr. Dark and Dangerous.

Prudence didn't say anything else about her club until they were outside of this one. "It's sort of a western themed thing. A large bar at the back of the club, lots of booths and tables, an office, a bull-should totally give that a ride when you get there." Prudence offered with a subtle smirk, wondering how long he could ride-genuinely and not figuratively. If Ryker wanted to find out personally, the brunette could."Then, there's a back room. It's sort of a VIP kinda place. Only those not faint of heart, or weak physically get a special pass into that bad boy. It's a place to safely brawl, without any worries of cops being called. So long as no one dies. Was big a few years ago, but now...It's mostly used for storage and the space got smaller. My policy was if you're gonna fight, then take it to the back where it doesn't disturb anyone else who doesn't want to be in the drama of some ***** fight." Prudence rolled her shoulders and crossed the street. The main area of the backroom was still used every now and again, but the back hallway leading to the outside had kegs and bottles of booze lining the back wall.

Hands were shoved in pockets, as Prudence slowed her pace down, realizing that her taller, longer legs gave her the advantage over her much shorter thrall. Lucifer would probably notice that Prudence was a solid six feet tall, almost six-one in her boots. Part of the killer 'curse,' but not nearly as bad as her friend Mordie who had to be at least seven ******* feet tall. The faster she trained, the taller she got and the more muscular too. Mordie blew it out of the ball park with that one on all fronts. For a girl who used to be just five-eight a handful of years ago, people could tell how uninterested with training she had been in the last two or so years. Her priorities had shifted, so she didn't grow nearly as much as her best friend Mordie had these past couple years.

"So, these guys are in some gang. they aren't super bad *** or anything. They just don't like to **** off." Prudence said as Ryker came up beside her, the red head jutting around a corner to head them in the right direction of her club. It was pretty much a straight shot from this block, on down. "They tend to prefer guns. I don't know how many I've gotten off them." Prudence recalled some of the small pistols she had collected and passed on throughout the years. "Could call them a biker gang, I guess. Wear leather-all with the same emblem on the back of it. A couple don't wear the emblem, take it that they're the initiatives and ****. or trying to be sneaky as ****, but I know better. They all look the same. Dumb, and big. Buncha blockheads. But there's more of them than me...so. That's the problem."

The women and Lucifer had exchanged an array of looks, glances and furrows of their brows during their discussion, all of which came to a standstill once he agreed to help them. Did they trust him, it was unlikely but he only trusted payment in the end so it seemed like they all had an understanding. Usually when people sort Lucifer out, it was because all traditional avenues had failed like cops, basic reasoning and even asking people to leave, so he was more than prepared for a fight. In truth Lucifer was never satisfied with any other line of work and he had always come back to hit man, well hit man with a twist, he was more pick and choose the contracts than most. It was never solely about money, half the time he didn’t take a cash payment or wired transfer, and instead he took jewels, alcohol and sometimes even refused to take a payment depending on the contract.

As Prudence spoke, he kept his ears fully attuned to what she was saying but his eyes constantly on alert for anything out of the ordinary. A habit from his line of work was attention to details and surroundings, like he was in a state of permanent surveillance. The walking and talking continued for a while and he followed just a few paces behind the women, still trying to take in any and all information they could give him and store it in his own version of a mind palace for later use. Western themed, bar, booths, office and a mechanical bull ride that could be a fun thing to try after his work was completed. In truth he had never ridden a bull before, real or mechanical so it could prove rather entertaining for any on lookers, a large man with limbs flailing as he was bucked off. Such a mental image even caused him to chuckle at himself softly.

Block heads who didn’t like to do as they were asked, was there any other kind. Pru was rather clued in on all this biker gang stuff but Lucifer imagined that came with them annoying the **** out of the women for days on end. All this information was good to have however because bikers were generally into brawling rather than gun play, not that it would matter, they would all die if it was required. She had said they preferred guns but Lucifer had a feeling if he caught them off guard they would tend to return to the usual biker brawling kind of tactics, bar stools and so forth in hands, belting people around. He reached a hand up to run through his hair before clearing his throat gently.

“Okay so bar with tables and booths, a mechanical bull which I am definitely going to need to test out at some point, Back room, VIP room, and storage spots. Sounds like a nice straight forward place to me which should prove interesting... Guns, noted. And they out number you? Isn’t that always the case with a group of assholes? Any who, let’s get there first so I can actually check out the establishment and get some bearings before I start killing... Question though, do you care about blood? I mean like seriously care? Cause in the heat of the moment, it will be slice and dice most likely so if it will bother you, I can attempt to lure them outside.”

She wasn't surprised when he commented about the bull and wanting to try it out. Everyone had at least one go at it-heck, even she had ridden it a time or ten before. Ryker currently held the title for holding on the longest (not that Prudence had tried in a while) with her name and time on a chalkboard not far from where the bull was at. "Totally. Make ya blend in more and not seem suspicious anyways." Prudence said with two nods of her head as they vacated the club they were in. Ryker stayed quiet, her eyes bouncing between Prudence and Lucifer, but mostly stayed focus on Lucifer.

As she thought about the other questions, Prudence nodded again. "I'd assume so, cause they keep coming back. I'm sure they know something is up-a few of their guys disappeared some time ago and every now and again one or two disappear, so I'm sure it don't take long to put two and two together. Which explains why their numbers have gotten larger. Even if they don't think I know or notice. That's why we've not taken out the garbage in a while." Prudence explained, knowing Lucifer could keep up and probably understand what the 'garbage' actually was.

"Slice and dice?" Prudence asked, not sure she heard right. There could be half a dozen to ten of their guys in the bar and Lucifer wanted to whip out his sword? Prudence snorted, finding that question hilarious on two accounts. She bet Ryker wouldn't mind him showing his 'sword.' "Uh, no problem with blood. I mean, we get a little blood here and there. Not all patrons respect the fighting rule of take it to the backroom. You'll see what I mean when we get there." Prudence said with another nod as both hands found pockets and buried deep inside of them. "Ya know...if ya need a gun....I might have a couple ya could borrow. Got them a while back." They wouldn't be traced back to her. She didn't buy them, so who cared if she let Lucifer borrow one of her bad *** guns?

She stopped outside a bar with a sign that said the name of her 'saloon,' in neon blue, with a pair of old time pistols on the sign above the entrance way. "he's cool." Prudence assured Jeremy after a slap of his shoulder, a thumb pointing in Lucifer's direction. "And he's with me.' She said before stepping inside, Jeremy giving Ryker a good once over and a nod of his head, before his eyes moved to Lucifer, offering him a nod.
